I discovered JD's by chance, working in the neighborhood a few years back. And stopped in recently with a relative. We were in the area, and she said she was hungry and I told her I know exactly where we're going. She asked me if this place was good, and all I said was you just got to wait and see. When we pulled up there was a line of vehicles wrapped around the building and the majority of the parking lot full. Her first thoughts were oh my god! And I said that's exactly what you gonna say after you have the burgers.

There are zero things to criticize about this restaurant. Every time I go there they hit it out of the park on price and value. You really get what you pay for when you come to JD's. Best fast food restaurant in the Fox valley hands down possibly the world but that's just my personal opinion. Highly recommended!!!

Although I like EVERYTHING about this diner, (food quality; service; and atmoshere), the inspiration for this review is the chili. Their marquee says "best chili in town", (even though chili is not on their menu). I am a chili lover and had to try it. Not only is their claim absolutely accurate, it's the best chili I've EVER tasted.

I was in Appleton for a training and happened to drive by JD’s Drive-in. I enjoy the mom and pop style family owned restaurants, and decided I would try it for dinner. The place was packed when I walked in, but the staff was friendly and helpful. I had a double cheeseburger and onion rings. I would definitely rate it at the top of my burger list. Great taste, good toppings, fresh bun, etc…. The onion rings were just as good. The prices were very reasonable by today’s standards. I wish every town had a burger place as good as this one. I will stop back anytime I’m in Appleton because it’s well worth it!

My girlfriend and I stopped for a quick lunch. The cashier was pleasant. I was wearing a brace on my foot , but I can walk alright. The cashier told me to take a seat and she would bring it to me. This was a very young lady with a wonderful spirit. I will definitely come again.

By far the best drive thru in town. JD’s never disappoints. Other drive thrus will get our order wrong or will be disappointing, but never JD’s. My partner and I have gone here for over five years and our order has never been incorrect and always tastes fantastic. Food is fine, semi consistent, but on occasion the burger meat feels... Slimy? Definitely get more for your buck here than even McDonald's, especially in terms of fries. Just this puts me at 4 stars.

But -2 for the following: The inside makes me uncomfortable. It does not feel clean in the eating areas. Just looking at the ceiling, the floors, the benches, edges and corners. As someone who has had to clean customer facing areas, it seems that cleaning is sort of an afterthought and not thorough. Over time it has added up to lots of grime. I wouldn't care as much if it didn't make me think "the kitchen might be just as or more dirty". Just turns me away every time I think I might want a burger here.

Owner frequently, if not always, wears his political stance on his sleeve, or more accurately on his head at work. Doesn't ultimately bug me enough to knock a point, but seems like an iffy business choice especially in the current political climate.

I would like to give the young people that work at this restaurant a hundred stars. I wish they were my children I'd be very proud of them. This is the first time I've ever eaten here and the food was great and the size of fries that you give for one person is enough for a whole family. And the fries are done nice and crispy!!!! This is one of the best if not the best restaurant / diner place that I've ever been to, it has generational values, atmosphere, deliciousness. Employees are all very nice they have table service The food is the best I recommend chicken tenders but they have amazing broiled burgers they've got delicious fish ice cream top notch, and they also have a really good banana shake, among inside dining they have a drive-thru and plenty of parking space, It is a local spot especially for high school students who have a very short walk to get to this place so be mindful that lunchtime might be a little crowded.
