I had gone up to the Dodgeville area for a vacation and found Jimmy's Diner is one of the restaurants in the area. So we ended up going the staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I was expecting regular fortunes for food so I ordered a side salad and a cheeseburger with fries. I was expecting the salad to come in a small bowl but when it came out it was on a small plate. Then they brought the cheeseburger out and it was larger than what I was expecting. I almost couldn't finish my meal because the portions were so generous. So for the next two mornings we went there for breakfast and we went there again for dinner each time the portions we're very generous. I would highly recommend going for breakfast lunch or dinner. After going there we didn't want to go anywhere else.

I've been here on 3 occasions... all bad experiences.
The 1st: after they opened it was the craze to try Jimmy's Diner. So I went with some family and eww. My fork was not cleaned and it's SO loud when that place is full you can't hear each other talk. On top of that you'd think they would've wanted to update the interior after it having been previously a Hardee's.. barely if at all did they add any decor or make any changes to the inside.
2nd time: I was skeptical but went with some family again.. my food was extremely bland (I got the chicken alfredo) the garlic bread just tasted like bread it had no flavor to it at all. Again this was a few year later and still no update to the decor or interior.
3rd time: my husband, and 3 yr old came here last week for dinner, as our daughter wanted pancakes for dinner and we were out and about. I said hey let's try Jimmy's. WORST EXPERIENCE OF THEM ALL!!! They served out daughter moldy and curdled apple juice. Yes, apple juice. It was disgusting and stunk like rotten eggs. They served us our drinks and walked away without even asking if we were ready to order which I thought was terrible service. Just set them on our table and walked away.. I thought I could smell rotten eggs. Thought maybe it was a vent or something above us. After our daughter spilled a bit of apple juice along the top rim of her lid on her cup I had leaned in to try a drink. After I took a drank I realized how strong the smell was. 🤢 Not only had I took a drank but my daughter drank more! I can't beleive they would serve that to a child!!! Absolutely disgusting I can't state enough DO NOT EVER EAT HERE!!! We asked for the bill for our drinks after making a waitress smell it. She had nothing to say other than she'd be right back, took the drink and came back and said dont worry about it. I'm honest to god surprised that they have a 4.4 star rating because eww. Worst place to ever go. Never ever ever eat here!! I 100% DO NOT RECCOMEND EVER!!!

Jimmy's Diner is a diamond in the rough, a cozy little place. The food is wonderful I've been a chef for 10 years and worked in fine dining for almost all of it. That's not Jimmy's. No Jimmy's is the place you go when you want the kind of food mom made growing up and served with a warm smile. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

This was my first time having dinner with my work colleagues. We managed to order and finish our quick dinner an hour before they closed.
We ordered a rib eye (med rare), burgers and soft drinks.
Staffs were super friendly and nice there. I did enjoy dining there. It's comfortable and I felt like I was part of the local family there.

Rib eye wasn't cooked as ordered, it was nearly well done. I had no clue why there was so much watery juice on the plate. It wasn't what I expected.
Burger was ok.
I will give it a try to order breakfast next time.

We like to try smaller "mom and pop" type restaurants and we know that it can be hit or miss, so we looked over the reviews and took a chance. We walked in and were asked to sit wherever we liked. Our server, who was very courteous and quick, was at the table shortly after. We had ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and the Buffalo Chicken Wraps with fries as our lunch. The Mozzarella sticks were crispy on the outside and gooey inside, really delish. The wrap was very flavorful and full of chicken. We would definitely recommend this place for lunch. The atmosphere was fine it was a re-purposed fast food restaurant the could use a little make over. My apologies, I cannot remember the name of the young man that was our server, but he was terrific.

Friendly waitress and delicious BROASTED CHICKEN. I had never had broasted chicken and it is amazingly moist and crispy and flavorful. When. Asked, Jimmy came out and explained how it was a proprietary company that makes & sells the ingredients and machine. He said that in order to taste like what broasted chicken could and should, one can’t cheapen out and try their ‘own’ ingredients because the broasted company’s are the best. Yum. My husband’s breakfast of chicken fried steak and delicious crispy hash browns was a lot of food but he managed. Great stop for us on our Chicago to Taliesin to Anamosa National Motorcycle Museum road trip.

We got hungry driving to Madison for a Model contest. Jimmy's sounded like a fun place to try. Just a short way off Highway 151. Needed a place to stop for a good breakfast on our way home. Googled and found Jimmy's.
My daughter and i both have dietary restrictions(no gluten, no eggs, no onions no mushrooms, no dairy) And they were very accommodating!
The food came out quickly and tasted delicious and service was great! Definitely recommend this place!
