We had a lot of thought how to approach this.
My wifes cousin was visiting from Arizona and we wanted her to experience Johnathon's since we have NEVER been dissatisfied only impressed with the entire experience. Until 9/14/2025.
Isabella was fantastic and very understanding.
The Sea food special was less than par- Super small portion. All three fish pieces were dry and over cooked and not even the size of my Opah. My Opah was very dry and over done(we lived in Hawaii and really like Opah) My wifes Ribeye was to be Medium Rare and was well done. The vegetables on all plates were over cooked. Everything was very salty and this is coming from 2 women who put extra salt on eveything-exept last nights dinners. We both worked in hospitality, my wife 20yrs 5 star restaurant and boutique hotel in lake Geneva. We will be back probably just an off night. We were told by your staff to leave a review.

This place was absolutely delicious. Between the stake melts in your mouth and the appetizer were lovely. The staff were very sweet and helpful. Our waitress Kat was able to tell us some cool things about the area and was a delight to talk to. Would totally recommend this place. I do recommend making a reservation first they are pretty busy.

Very disappointed. We have been coming here for about 5 years and have seen a steady decrease in the overall customer service. I made a online reservation on 8/5 and received a voicemail confirmation on 8/6 confirming a birthday dinner for 2 in the requested dining room for 5pm from the manager. On our arrival on 8/30 they could not find our reservation even though I had their confirmation on my phone. After about 10 minutes we were offered a table in the dining room IF we would be done dining within 1-1/2 hours. We accepted but we were very rushed by the waiter. After telling the waiter several times that this was a birthday dinner we had to listen to the waiters acknowledge other birthdays but never my fiances. Even though the owners wife listened to the voicemail of the reservation confirmation she seemed very uninterested and never once apologized for the lost reservation on their part.

They catered my wedding and all anyone can talk about is how incredible the food was ! Love their restaurant. Usually Jonathan's is an easy 5 star but you're only as good as your last dish. Previously, Jonathan cooked the meal and immediately I could tell that my dish was sous chef prepared. The fish was overcooked, dry w/out much flavor and the vegetables were decimated,The dish was sloppily presented. I was very disappointed. The bread was excellent as was the carrot cake. The quality standards have declined.

This place is a must attend. This was our 2nd time here. We chose this place to celebrate my wife's birthday. It didn't disappoint. Our waiter was Bud and he was phenomenal!!! He made the evening a lot of fun. We live about an hour away and it's well worth the drive. Definitely recommend making a reservation a few days ahead of time. The Key Lime pie rivals the several I've had in the Florida Keys. You can't go wrong with the Grouper. It's so good.

Wife asked for a destination restaurant to celebrate our 52nd anniversary. After perusing Wisconsin, I chose Jonathan's on Brick Street. I wasn't expecting much. Just someplace nice with good food. We were pleasantly surprised at what we found. A neat but unassuming restaurant from the outside and a gem on the inside. A great place that others have discovered too. The staff were welcoming, efficient and professional. Virtues missing in many restaurants today. Our waiter, Bud, was super friendly and really knew his restaurants capabilities. His recommendations were honest and proved helpful. His eyes were always watching what was needed before us needing something and he definitely wanted us to like what was served. The kitchen didn't let him or us down. We did the whole nine yards. Appetizers, Entrees, Soup, Drinks (Bartender makes a great wisconsin style brandy old fashioned) and Desserts. Five stars is not enough to rate Jonathan’s. We made a reservation in celebration of our 25th anniversary without ever having been there - only relying on what we could find online. I have to say that this place far exceeded any expectations that I had of what a wonderful meal should be like. The service was amazing, wine selection was outstanding, and words can’t describe how incredible the food was. From the apple salad to the French onion soup to my steak - everything was perfect. If it wasn’t a 3 hr drive to come back from my home, I would eat there all the time. But hey, Jonathan’s just gave me a reason to come back to Lake Geneva. What a gem! This place came highly recommended by several people and finally we decided to try it and I think it might be our new spot. Last minute reservation we got a 6pm high-top off the bar in a prime spot - still plenty of space to comfortably dine. From the awnings and patio furniture outside to the decor inside the restaurant looks and feels just right - I wouldn't feel underdressed in a pullover or golf shirt. The entire waitstaff is so friendly and happy to help and you can just tell that they really care. We sat at the bar and immediately knew a handful of people and started getting recommendations. I came for a filet but a friend said no get the seafood trio! If you like wine this is definitely your place - I found the selection robust and the prices approachable. The hustle and bustle of the restaurant was great and went strong well past 8pm which we loved but never reached a point where it was crowded or we couldn't reasonably hear each other speak -- it was definitely the place to be that night. Our server was fantastic and spaced our courses out perfectly. Nothing drives us crazier than when your entire comes 10 seconds after your soup - we were glad to see this was a non-issue. The French onion was absolutely out of this world, full of flavor. The coconut shrimp were comically huge and delicious - a great value! Finally the seafood trio was an absolute delight. The fish was fresh and not drowning in sauce, the vegetables were fantastic as were the red potatoes. I have to say the portion size was something that really stood out, I really got a full plate of food - something I really appreciated seeing. That carried over to the deserts - both portions were huge and the carrot cake was absolutely fantastic - it was like something fresh from a bakery. Overall the half-dozen or so recommendations proved to all be absolutely right - Jonathan's is a must-try! The owner and his wife both separately stopped by our table and were very kind. The atmosphere is just perfect. The food and portion size are both fantastic. Great establishment and wonderful addition to the community. We look forward to adding this to our regular rotation.

We called for a table when Lake Geneva lost power and our dinner reservation was cancelled. In hindsight, the universe was working in our favor because this meal was PHOENOMINAL!!

We sat at the bar, and the staff were so kind and attentive. One person in our party has a gluten allergy and the staff double checked and made suggestions based on the gluten avoidance.

Our cocktails were perfect and the meals were absolute perfection. We left with smiles on our faces, and satisfied bellies.

We had an amazing experience at Jonathan’s on Brick Street in Delavan! Maddie was incredibly helpful when we called, despite the next reservation not being until 8:30, she was able to get us in shortly after they opened at 4:30 on a Saturday. We’re so grateful!

Our waiter, Juan, was fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive throughout the meal. He made great recommendations that did not disappoint.

We started with perfectly made Margaritas and a delicious cream soup, a white bean and zucchini purée that was flavorful and comforting. For our entrées, we had the ribeye steak and the Chicken a la Jonathan, both were outstanding. One of us had the garlic mashed potatoes and the other had the red roasted potatoes, each one delicious in its own way.

We finished the meal by sharing the decadent bread pudding topped with sea salt caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Every bite was perfection.

We’ll definitely be back, thank you again to Maddie and the whole team for making it such a memorable dinner!

The Slow Cooked Short Ribs were tender and had great flavor (would order again). The side vegetables (broccoli and squash) were good, the mashed potatoes have a great garlic taste, but the German potato wedge side was too sweet for a savory dish. The NY Strip was excellent with great peppery flavor and great charring and was juicy. The Day Boat Scallops were great. But sadly the Jonathan Shrimp De Jonghe appetizer tasted of ammonia when eating just the shrimp. Also the Baked French Onion Crock did not taste of deep onion flavor and was overwhelmed by the added seasoning. And the bread topping the soup was too chewey to enjoy the cheese topping. Seemed like it should have been less dense bread. The desserts were fantastic. The Bread Pudding was warm and welcoming with apple and caramel flavors. The Carrot Cake was excellent withe great carrot and spice flavor. The Terrimasu and the Creme Brule were excellent. The wait for the food was about one half hour, even for returned food (they overcooked the NY Strip). The server did not seem to be attentive and became noticeably flustered when mentioning anything about the food. We may consider a return trip to see if this was a fluke because we enjoyed the great entrees. But to the servers credit, we were not charged for the soups, and received a discount on one dessert because it was that person's birthday (she also put a candle on the dessert!). Overall a decent experience with some hiccups, but not the excellent top notch experience we were hoping for. We will look forward to a better experience next time.

My first dinner experience at Johnathan’s a year ago was excellent. We returned last night for dinner and unfortunately didn’t have the same experience. Our service was still wonderful, the wait staff was very attentive. The food however did not even compare to our first visit. We had a seafood trio dish which lacked in flavor and overall appeal. We also had the new york strip requested to be cooked medium rare. This too lacked any flavor and was cooked medium well. The server was extremely sweet and offered us a complimentary dessert for the mistake.
For the price, you would expect so much more attention to the quality and taste of the meal. I’m not sure we will be returning to Johnathan’s.

10/10! We're part of a group of friends that goes to a supper club/steakhouse every other month. We've never picked a place where everyone in our group has a 10/10 experience from start to finish, but Jonathan's did it.

**Drinks - delicious signature cocktails.
**Apps - shrimp de jonghe and escargot...amazing.
**Baked French onion soup - rich, cheesy, and delicious. Don't skip this!
**Dinner - ribeye & sea bass...perfectly cooked all around the table. One person in our group said it was the best steak they ever had at a restaurant.
**Dessert - key lime pie...yum!
**Service - 11/10! Bartender was friendly, knowledgeable and stopped by our table at the end of our meal to check in on our experience. Server (Dakota) really knew his stuff, friendly, attentive. He checked in frequently enough that we never felt like we were waiting on anything (like refreshing drinks/water).

Stumbled upon this gem last week. On a weds afternoon it was pretty slow and it was really cold outside. But the bartender was very polite and attentive to everyone who walked in. We got the escargot and oysters for appetizers. Both were amazing. Then I ordered the braised beef ribs with mash potatoes and mixed vegetables. Also got a lobster tail on the side. The portion was big enough to take some home. The lobster tails was cooked perfectly. We both was full but decided to try some dessert. I got the key lime pie. I wish I could explain what I ate better than I do. I had the lamb loin. I've been to 15 different countries with my job. I've have every executive take me to dinner. By far this was the best meal I have ever had. The owner said it was underrated. I believe him it was amazing. My date had the seabass. She was very pleased . Growing up with a butcher in the family I have always been sceptic of going to a steak house . Our goal walking in was order something we don't cook at home or isn't served else where. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Jonathan's this past October. When setting up our reservation, I did mention that it was our anniversary. So, when we arrived we were led to a very nice table right next to the fireplace. Nice touch!! We both ordered the baked French onion soup, and I also ordered the escargot. Really tasty start to our meal. We then both ordered the ribeyes, along with lobster tails. What can I say except they were incredible!!! It has been a while since my wife and I have dined here. Once again Jonathan’s didn’t disappoint. We started our evening off with drinks at the bar, I had a beer and my wife had a strawberry mule, beer was cold and mule was delicious. Our reservation was at 6:30 and we were seated on time. We ordered an appetizer of cheese curds and baked French onion soup, I highly recommend both. My wife once again ordered the trio of fish which consisted of mahi mahi, swordfish, and salmon with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I ordered the cowboy bone in blackened ribeye with mushrooms onions , baked potato and vegetables. Both dinners again were very good. The only issue on both our plates was the vegetables, not good. Wonderful atmosphere and delicious dinner. We were fortunate to find an up front, nice and close parking spot on the Main Street directly in front of Jonathan’s. A handicap accessible ramp to the front door was an option that we appreciated. Warm greeting from hostess, well prepared drinks at the bar before being seated to eat. We always arrive early to be able to have a drink or two at the bar. We were very happy they did not rush us to be seated. Great dinner table for two and service from James. Timing of each course was perfect, as was our A+ meal. Oysters to appetize, spinach salad, ribeye, and lamb loin. We will make the fifty minute drive again, as this was such a positive dining experience.

My wife and I have been to Jonathan's 5 or 6 times now. A couple of date nights and a few birthdays. We are blown away every time we go. The food is nothing short of phenomenal. We get oysters Rockefeller to share every time. I get the seafood trio special (different every time I've been), and my wife usually tries something new to us on the menu. The service is top-notch. The servers have a great knowledge of the food and drinks. They really make it a personal experience every time we go. I would highly recommend Jonathan's to anyone for any occasion.

We had a wonderful experience all around at Jonathons. My husband said the French onion soup was the best he has ever had. His ribeye was also outstanding. We winter in Mexico and eat fresh caught fish many times a week. I have to say the cashew encrusted halibut is right on the top of my list as some of the best fish I've ever had! Jonathon your service at the bar and our waiter were both outstanding as well!

What a great discovery in downtown Delavan! The food, service and personnel were outstanding! We started off with the calamari and split a Caesar salad. My wife had the sea bass while I had the lemon caper walleye. Both dishes were perfect. Cannot recommend enough the quality of the food and the service from Lu.

The only drawback to prevent me from ever going back is they prefer cash and make the credit card surcharge the diners responsibility. Don’t know many people carrying around that much cash these days. The credit card surcharge is part of the cost of owning a restaurant and not the diner’s responsibility.

I can't say enough about this place, went went last night for dinner. My husband had the Prime Tenderloin, my daughter, the Pork Chop, I had the stuffed shrimp . Each dish was phenomenal!!!! The service was fantastic!!! My husband gets Tenderloin whenever we go out, and I like to think mine is amazing. We'll, let me say, after having a bite of his, I need to figure out how the Chef did it. Unbelievably wonderful!!! This will be out now date night and special occasion restaurant!!!!! This was my first visit to Jonathan’s on Brick street and it did not disappoint! The service and the atmosphere are just wonderful, but the food is what makes it a stand out in the area. The house salad with their celery seed dressing is so yummy and refreshing, a perfect little salad. Our dynamite shrimp appetizer literally could have been our meal. However our entrees for all 8 of us were amazing. You know it’s a great restaurant when the veggie side of mixed vegetables makes you smile. The chicken ala Jonathan’s lived up to the reco. I can’t wait to return!

Last night we had a great time at dinner at Jonathan’s.

I’d rate the food top notch and the atmosphere great, but what put the event over the top was our server.

Anna, a beautiful young lady with a great personality, took care of us.

She recited the specials like she was reading them off a script and had a very good knowledge of the wide variety of dishes.

We were having a conversation about movies and I put Anna on the spot for her opinion. She took this in stride and laughed with us.

All at the dinner commented on how the food was excellent but what made the night great for all of us was the personality and expertise of our young server Anna.

Food was excellent as always. Server was a bit disappointing. Watch what wine you order. Ordered a single vineyard Pinot Nior and was served the generic appellation. Server insisted it was the same wine. So, there is a bit of bate and switch going on with the wine list since they do charge for the more expensive wine. One week later and it is still listed on wine menu. Disappointed this caliber of restaurant would operate like this.

We went on Saturday night the 16th around 745 pm. We were seated in a small table in front of the fireplace. Waitress only talked to my husband while taking the orders. We ordered 2 Ribeyes and were brought only 1 even after we stated we both wanted to have the ribeye. Waited a total of 2 hours for our food and you could see and taste that the mashed potato was reheated and overcooked in the microwave due to having to wait for the 2nd ribeye. We were never offered anything in compensation. We are most likely not going to be returning as this was a huge turn off for the price you pay for the meals.

So, we went there a couple of weeks ago and had the most amazing entrees. Yesterday we went there to try appetizers and desserts. The escargot was great, but the baguette that came with it was amazing! I have been in Europe multiple times, but I have to say this was the best baguette I have ever had! The bruschetta did not disappoint. We also had small hot bacon spinach salads. And then the dessert tray,oh my! Our server, Jay, was wonderful. We ordered the dessert of the day, chocolate peanut butter cake and the bread pudding. Way too much to eat, so we had chocolate cake for breakfast. Who doesn't enjoy peanut butter for breakfast?

Update: March 2024. We had a FABULOUS meal at Johnathans: Filet Mignon for me, prime Rib for my Husband, Grouper for my friend. Escargot for all plus Bread Pudding for dessert. Amazing! We have been wanting to try this place for some time now. Typically we go to a different steak joint in Beloit. For our 2 year wedding anniversary we decided to switch it up and very glad we did.

Jonathan’s has a huge selection, multiple specials, and multiple sides to choose from.

I went with one of the specials; 30 day dry aged 20oz. cowboy cut ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. Got the nice flavor from the aged meat with that crisp sear.

My wife got the surf and turf, I tried both and were both excellent.

I highly recommend trying this place out if you haven’t.

We usually go to another local steakhouse for Christmas Eve dinner but decided we may try something new this year. I had made a reservation at the other local restaurant several months ago as I always need to do due to it being a reservation for Christmas Eve. I contacted Johnathan’s last week via their website and stated I know it’s a long shot but wondering if any availability for Christmas Eve dinner knowing the chances were 1% at best. The next day the restaurant called me and had availability if I could make it at 4:45PM. I took that slot and canceled my other reservation. Tonight’s dinner was amazing!! Staff were phenomenal!!
