I was very disappointed with my recent visit. I ordered the omelette listed on your menu, which was described in a way that gave the impression it would be a hearty, “big” meal. Unfortunately, when it was served, it was extremely small and did not match the description at all.

The way the item is presented on the menu feels misleading, and the actual portion did not come close to what was expected. For a place known for generous servings, this was very surprising and left me unsatisfied.

I wanted to bring this to your attention in the hope that future menu descriptions more accurately reflect what customers will receive.

We went there for breakfast yesterday and because it was so great in terms of service quality and quantity of food priced fairly we went back today at a different server than the young lady. We had yesterday, but also had great service from the young man who served us today. Also greeted by a lovely hostess again and spoke with a young man who actually manages the place for his parents. And I noticed there were some negative responses from people that didn’t share the political beliefs because of the sign they had posted there, but I didn’t go there to discuss my vote. I went there because there were so many people standing in line. We knew it was good so we stayed.

Loved this place! We went for breakfast. I appreciated the yogurt parfait and bagel option. My boyfriend appreciated the hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy and toast. Everything was delicious and the staff was great!

This is my first time coming in as a local, and i had the short stack of buttermilk pancakes and the basket of fries. The wait staff was very quick and was kind as well whick I appreciated. The food took maybe 10 minutes to come out (not bad) however while the other person with me had their food come out very tasty and with no complaints, unfortunately my pancakes came out very overcooked. The non fluffy interior was rough on my throat and tongue and the crust which surrounded the cakes almost had the consistency of a wall. Not even double dipping each bite in syrup could save the meal and i left with a bitter aftertaste from the pancake platter. Despite the main dish being disappointing the fresh fries were very good and perfectly salted although I unfortunately could not fully enjoy the dry taste after such dry pancakes. The staff was understanding and even offered something else to go so overall the experience was not bad im just baffled by the pancakes. 3/5 will try again in the future and hopefully to better results

Let's talk about this restaurant once again. The staff that runs this place does a great job at greeting you when you enter with a menu in their hand. Look above their heads and you're the special menu on the chalkboard. Someone will guide you to your seat and seat you. I can't stress this enough if you want to be pampered by their staff. Come early that way there won't be too many people there and they can tend to your needs. But once it gets pretty busy, I ask for your patience because they get swamped, usually, there's a line out the door so if you've been there before you know how to time it and if you don't mind the wait, then that works too. If you have any questions hit me up. And I do my very best to answer them.

Joni’s Diner is an absolute gem in Lake Geneva! Our group tried a variety of dishes—corned beef hash, eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy, and a half order of the banana bread French toast with butterscotch sauce—and everything was incredible. While it was all delicious, the biscuits and gravy were truly *out of this world*! Portions were generous, and in today’s economy, the prices felt very reasonable for the quality and quantity you get.

Our server was outstanding—welcoming, efficient, and so knowledgeable. She set the bar for great service and could easily train other servers on how it’s done right.

The setting is also a treat, with a charming vintage 1950s vibe that makes the whole experience even more special. I would return in a heartbeat!

Atmosphere: Classic mid 20th century diner spot. Very fun. Built 60 some years ago and moved from PA to its current location. Pies in the fridge, classic booths,etc. I didn't notice if there was a jukebox. 5 Stars

Service: Jia, who served us was super kind and fun. She got our orders correct and talked with us about the history of the restaurant, the town and the Alpine Valley Ampitheatre (our reason for being in town). All the other workers were gracious and fast cleaning up around us. 5 stars

Food: Big E omelet for both of us with avocado. Very well done. A step above what you'd expect. I was very pleased. Added a shake of salt and pepper and some hot sauce really gave it some character towards the end. 4 stars

The value was amazing. Price we paid for the quality of food and service was top notch. Will be back when I return to the area.

The wife and I are from Chicago and we go to Lake Geneva often, this trip for her 70th bday, and we never leave without having breakfast here. It's a must and it's the ONLY breakfast place we go to.
My wife had the Country Combo and I had the homemade corned beef hash and it was fantastic. The bisquets and gravy, WOW!! Amazing, best I've ever had!!

First and last time eating here. Too pricey. Plus, the so called "charbroiled" burger patty had no taste and the fries weren't the least bit crispy! 🤨 It would have been nice to have heard some 50's music being played. Instead, we got to hear the employees loud talking! One of them was hand drying flatware and noisily tossing them (one by one) into the container at the counter!! VERY nerve racking!!! 😡😡😡 That should be done, in the back, as to not disturb your customers meal!!! I would have mentioned this to management, when paying, but I didn't want to cause a scene. 🙄

Servers were so friendly and the food came fast. Noise was a tad loud for 8am and was hard to have a conversation but that's expected in a small diner filled with many busy travelers. The food was decent, if a bit pricey considering what it comes with. I paid almost $17 for a breakfast of pancakes(which were large though) 2 eggs and bacon and i had to add the later 2 because they're sold separately which is different compared to chain breakfast joints. But your dining local and small so I understand. Overall if you're looking for a quick diner bite while in Lake Geneva, definitely stop in. The waitstaff was tremendous!!!

Stopped here one morning for breakfast with a large group of guys on an annual golf trip. Very awesome little diner, with very friendly staff and great food. The food was so good, we stopped the next morning too. I had an omelet the first morning, which was very good, biscuits and gravy the next morning. I saw this diner advertised on Facebook and thought it sounded fun. It's just a little less than an hour from where I live. They need to update the online menu, prices are half again what is advertised. Online $8.95 meal is actually $12.95. I mentioned it to the waitress and she just replied that prices must have changed. I generally prefer to eat in restaurants without the political opinions of the owners. This restaurant has posted signs supporting Trump and other politicians/Judges running for office that represent their party. It’s a poor choice to take a political stance either way as a business, especially in a political climate that is as divisive as it is today. Clearly the owners don’t care about loss of revenue due to politics. Please feed us food not your political opinions.
