This was my second time coming here. My first time was over 10 years ago. My husband ordered a brat and the Jalapeño poppers. I ordered a cheeseburger with mozzarella sticks and fries. My mom ordered a burger with onion rings. I tried one of her onion rings and honestly that was the best tasting thing out of all of our meals. My burger was not very visually appealing as it had a grayish look to it as if it was boiled or steamed. Not sure if thats common/normal. It tasted ok but what saved it is that I added my own toppings on it at home. The fries with cheese were ok, but not much flavor. The mozzarella sticks are wonton wrapped which also dont have much flavor but the marinara dipping sauce was decent. I had also tried a couple bites of my husband's brat and it was really good and flavorful. We did have fast and friendly service which is why im giving 4 stars but im not sure i would ever order a burger again from here. I might be open to trying other items off the menu. Overall, we had a good experience, but I feel certain food items need to be improved.

This is the only review I’ve ever given. I have never been so impressed by customer service. Everyone is always in such a rush these days so it was refreshing to talk to someone who genuinely cares about customers. I recently called to inquire about the Dole flavors, and Natalia provided outstanding customer service. She kindly explained that they are only offered on weekends, then took the time to ask about my favorite flavor. When I mentioned pineapple, she let me know I was in luck because they had a convenient take home special available. I was so impressed with her friendliness and professionalism that I asked to speak with a manager, only to learn that she is a manager herself! It is clear this location has an excellent team. I left extremely satisfied and will definitely be returning!

Big fan of the Kiltie Drive-In. Fun, nostalgic, old style drive in, fantastic for kiddos. Great atmosphere, perfect spot to back up the car and pop the trunk and picnic! I love this place! The service was good, the food was spectacular and the vibes were off the charts!!! I’m a sucker for everything old and vintage and this was the perfect spot for me! We ordered and our food came in 5 minutes. I had a double cheeseburger and an Oreo shake and both were soooooo delicious. We recently tried the Kiltie. We were figuring out our order and noticed a note about cash only under to go orders. It was a little confusing so we asked and they said yes, they only take cash. What? I've been a long time fan of the Kiltie. We don't visit as often as we'd like, but we do at least once or twice a summer.

I'm not sure if that will continue. The service remains great, the desserts were also still fantastic. The burger was bland, the fries were so salty that I laughed when I saw salt packets included and everything was thrown together haphazardly.

This was a tremendous place to stop at. Definitely a hometown favorite for those in the area, but for those of us traveling through, it was a wonderful place to visit. I didn’t get a chance to try a burger or any other food, just one of their fudge sundaes which was absolutely delicious. Their staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Service is very quick. Altho.. a couple issues.. and it was with other customers.. one customer got upset because they parked in the employee parking and were asked to not do that. They got upset and just left. Then one woman in her 60s who yelled at staff and management claiming she knew the owners and she used to work there before. Another customer had to tell that old Karen to back away. People please be respectful. The people working there dont deserve that kind of treatment over some ice cream and hamburgers...

Every years since moving to Oconomowoc in 2007 , we have gotten food from here. Never have an issue, other than a wait, but a wait is expected. It's a wonderful business. I know of plenty of area teens that have worked here too. Never have had an issue with their food or employees at all. I love to post an updated menu with prices when we can. Please remember that they do not take credit cards, only cash! This helps to keep prices down. And please remember that it is no businesses fault for road construction, the bridge is unsafe and hopefully will be fixed soon. Just take the other route and you will be fine.

We typically love the Kiltie! Last night we ordered 2 MnM flurries and when the nice gal brought them to us it was obvious they were old & freezer burned. I asked her if these were in the freezer & she kindly admitted that they were. I asked to have fresh ones & she brought them over quickly.

Once we had the fresh ones it was obvious that the ones we had were days old and disgusting.

The fresh ones however are amazing & we will always come back for those!

I haven't been here in a few years but it was a classic treat as always! I ordered a root beer malt and my friend got the chocolate malt. Delicious and fresh. Although I have to say the atmosphere is a bit lacking. The window screens to the kitchen are covered in dust and dirt, and the menu signs are all covered in cob webs. I don't know, maybe they've just been really busy this season and haven't had time to clean. But the ice cream was yummy and service was fast!

Old. Not that it needs updating, it needs refurbishing. Rusted, burned out signage. Layers of paint. Food is frozen and processed. When a 1/3 pound burger is larger than the bun, but only 1/4 inch this, grey and no seasoning, thats freezer, to cook top, to bun with no care. All of a multi order thrown into boxes.

A little care to the property and getting food to a higher level could elevate their quality.

Incredibly rude, unprofessional behavior. I went to the counter to ask a question and was dismissed by a man working there. Next, one of the waitresses pushed me out of her way without saying a word. The Kiltie is such a classic institution in Oconomowoc, where you can close your eyes and imagine it's in the middle of the 1960s. Four generations of my family have been visiting the Kiltie since it opened, and my wife actually worked there in High School. The custard is excellent, and the food is always hot, simple and classic diner fare. The staff is always super friendly, and the overall experience never disappoints. If you're ever in Oconomowoc for a sunset over the lake, head over to the Kiltie for a treat. You won't be disappointed.

The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy, and the design of this particular establishment is both unique and presents an appealing view to those who lay their eyes upon it. Went last night with family service was subpar. Food over seasoned servers overlooked us multiple times and helped people who just arrived. Then half our party was served right away. Visited for the first time 8/12/23. What a hidden gem. I've probably been by this place a dozen times on Hwy 16 and never knew it was there. My son and I each had burgers and we shared some fries.
