Thoroughly enjoyable… A five star culinary experience! Excellent service from Barb, a warm and attentive representative of this restaurant. Please take any/all recommendations and try the specials! We started with a pear and Gorgonzola pizza and a plate of goat cheese truffles, which were both AMAZING.

What a truly excellent surprise to find such a great restaurant in Westby! Of course, it didn’t hurt that today was a gorgeous day and seemed to be just made for the 30 minute drive from Lacrosse to Westby. Unfortunately, this Chicago transplant has become spoiled by the five minute drive to ANYTHING in La Crosse. (But I just have to remind myself that my closest friend when I was growing up… A woman who was ALSO a Chicago girl… lived an hour away from my house in the suburbs. In light of that, 30 minutes to Westby doesn’t seem so bad… Especially when there’s a reward like KOS at the end of the trip.

Today’s luncheon was a birthday celebration, so I had made reservations In advance. It seems that they weren’t needed today, but it doesn’t take much to plan ahead… And I would hate to be disappointed if I drove that distance only to find out that they were full. It seems that the menu changes frequently, depending on seasonal availability. I would not hesitate to recommend KOS to the most discriminating of eaters! Enjoy!

My wife and I had an anniversary meal here, and WOW, I can't wait to go back to KOS. The service was impeccable (thank you to our waitress), the food was amazing, and the ambiance brought it all together for a wonderful meal. This is the best restaurant within a 30 minute drive of La Crosse and it's not even close. My already high expectations were absolutely blown away. KOS knows what it wants to be and executes flawlessly; which isn't surprising if you know the leader. Thank you for a great evening and we look forward to our next visit.

It's been about 8 months since our last evening at Kos, and we've really missed it! The food was amazing as always. Please, get the goat cheese truffles when you eat here! Definitely one of the best restaurants in all of Vernon County. I went there to eat with family and the food, drinks, and service were phenomenal. Our server Barb was super friendly and made excellent menu suggestions. I ordered a drink called "The Lily Rose". It was amazingly good, not to sweet and very refreshing, and had a rose shape ice cube in the glass. I ordered some appetizers and would highly suggest anything with truffle on it. For my entrée I ordered the Cod with fries. It was sooo good. If you are looking for a fantastic meal, with quality service and a cozy atmosphere, then I really can't recommend KOS enough. 5 stars all around and in the heart of Westby. Definitely a new local gem.

We had appetizers, a few drinks, steak and fish a Friday night in December. This restaurant was wayyyy overpriced (even for this volatile market!) and the (owner) staff were not very friendly. I don’t care enough for the “organic stamp” to pay 4X what something is actually worth. In the restaurant business, taste and atmosphere are king. This place had an elitist sort of vibe to it. We sat by the front door of the restaurant and kept getting blasted by freezing cold in spite of this chintzy curtain that was there to block the draft. We won’t be returning.

Our food during lunch was excellent, so good in fact we invited a guest for dinner the next night. Lunch every item was perfect, dinner unfortunately was about 80% with over fried tomatoes, blue cheese dressing missing those chunks that were so good at Lunch. Blackened catfish was very tasty but a little Medium rare on the thick end. New York was good, a bit small for a $40 steak, really rare, not Medium rare. Not a problem for me but most would complain.
Still one of the best meals I have had in this area by far. Strongly recommend this place to anyone, we eat all over the world.

We stopped here again this spring for dinner on two nights while fly fishing the area and we were once again highly pleased after stopping for the first time last year. This place is a by far the best restaurant in the area. We enjoyed entrees that provide innovative variations on traditional dishes; for example: grilled pork loin with a peach mango sauce rather than a pork chop with apple sauce, and then a dish of perfectly done scallops served over al dente cheese grits, rather than the Italian dish of scallops over risotto. The wine list includes offerings from France, California, and New Zealand, all reasonably priced. It was a pleasant surprise to enjoy a Chateau Phelan Segur, St Estephe from 2015, so far away from big city lights.

A gem of an addition to the Viroqua and Westby area, particularly for fly fishermen visiting from the Chicago and Madison areas. We enjoyed goat cheese truffles as an appetizer and scallops and lemon pasta as entrees. This place has years of happy dining ahead of it. Nice fully stocked bar with signature cocktails and a good wine menu. Wind by the glass suggestions for entrees as well. Varied and creative food menu you would expect in the big city. Great service. They have upped the lunch and dinner options for visitors to the area a huge notch. Definitely worth everyone’s patronage.

Went there tonight (Friday) for fish. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and seated right away.
We ordered the fish (I had the two piece batter fried cod-she had the three piece broiled) as well as french fries, baked potato and we both had the garden salad. The salad was simple and delicious. A variety of organic greens and a tasty french dressing for me. The food came quickly and everything was hot, fresh and crisp. My fried fish was flaky and fried to perfection. The batter was maybe seasoned? If it was it worked! My fries were done to perfection and served crispy and hot. Her baked fish and baked potato was as delicious a meal as mine was. We ended with a fudgy/caramel desert that was also very good. All in all a great first experience and impression. Highly recommended!

This was an amazing dinner! Called to say we were coming to make sure they had a table. They took our reservation, and I explained that it was my son's graduation and they assured us a table. We rushed to get there. Truffle fries alone are worth the trip! Server recommended wines for the meal. Son had their old fashioned and the husband had a specialty beer. All were great! We went to Kos for the first time we were so excited to be going there as we had heard so many good things about it. We had made reservations for three for lunch but when we entered we weren’t asked if we had reservations we had to mention it we ended up nseated right by the door and the door was left
open so we froze when there. We did not feel welcome by the staff! The front door entrance from the street definitely will need to be repaired! It is not set up for handicapped and I almost fell on the way out! Thank goodness the two people with me were there! I realize they are still under construction but I do think they need to work on their people skills! Our food was good but not spectacular!

Very poor service, basically ignored us (because we are outer towners) won't ever patron. 2 Bartenders served another group, before my husband while I went to the bathroom, so we gave them a benefit of a doubt that were waiting for me to come back to the bar. Just came from the Westby Rod & Gun Club down the Road a block or 2 on main street. One waitress to man Bar of 30 people manning the bar, grill & phone orders and was working her a** off! Gave us good service! Our bill for $22.61 for 4 beers, mini tacos & Cheese Curds. Gave her a $20.00 tip. Told her, if I had to handle all this, I would walk out.

For the area, this little bar has some pretty good burgers and fries, the staff is polite and friendly, waiting for food is minimal. Good spot.
