Definitely a winner-went for lunch-their lunch menu is a real bargain with several combo plates listed for $10. Service was good and food came out quickly. My wife had the beef fajitas (lunch $13) and I had the #2 combo-enchilada and chicken quesadilla with beans and rice. The food was great and authentic. The amount of food on each plate was huge. The meat on the fajitas was tender and well spiced. The chicken quesadilla was well prepared and excellent.
We will definitely be back.

We had reservations for a group of 6 at 430pm on a Tuesday. There were maybe 2 other tables with customers. It took about 15 minutes to even wave down someone to get our server to place drink orders. Then the server seemed flustered that we wanted to place dinner orders when drinks were served. Food was ok, drinks were acceptable. Unfortunately, I think we've put La Cantina on one and done. I doubt we'll return.

We're from California, so we're picky about Mexican. It doesn't have to be spicy (the salsa was excellent). My daughter's lengua tacos were excellent. The house margaritas were flavorful but My quesabirria was a bit bland (Midwestern Mexican flavor).

But the range of offerings on the menu were great and the servings were generous. Some of the most authentic ingredients I've seen up here. The service was terrific. The atmosphere was comfortable but a bit loud. At 8:30 Sunday night, it was busy and vibrant. The service was friendly and excellent. I'd go again but I'd try something different than what I ordered.

It was my 3rd time visiting this restaurant. I ordered the wings again. I chose flaming honey and garlic ghost pepper as the flavors. I noticed a lack of effort in my dish when I was served. The wings were not evenly coated in the sauces. It looked like the cook placed the wings on the plate and poured the sauces over the wings on a whim.

As I was finishing a wing, the meat was slightly frozen and cold when I got to the bone. Same thing happened with the next wing. I informed the waiter, he took my plate, and had the kitchen make me fresh ones. There were NO frozen/cold meat on the remake, BUT BBQ sauce was used instead of flaming honey on half the wings. The sauce was poured on once more instead of being tossed with the wings. I didn't mind not having ranch with my wings, but that was supposed to be included in the dish.

My waiter was very accommodating. I'm just disappointed in the preparation of my order. Especially because $15 for 10 wings is expensive enough already.

Took our adult kids here for dinner. The decor is lacking. We first ordered 2 flights 1 of margaritas and 1 of the mojitos. The waiter brought us 2 monitor flights and when we tried to tell him it was wrong he clearly didn't understand. We then ordered food and drinks. 2 of the 4 drinks were what we actually ordered again the waiter had no clue what we where saying when we said it was wrong. The food was bland and boring. The Primuim lime margarita tasted like tequila with a dash of lime juice, the blueberry margaritas was beyound hideous. All 4 of us tried the one, it was like the Gieco Ins commercial with the raccoons digging in the garbage and the one says to the other this is so bad you have to try it this is luke mango chutney and burnt hair, oh this is so bad. I also didn't like on the receipt the tips listed were 20%, 25, and 30%. Sorry I wouldn't tip this type of lack of server even 15%. Also all the drinks were very inconsistent from 1 to the next. They really reminded us why we like Tellos so much. We spent about 35 per person and it was not worth it.

FIRST AND LAST TIME 3/13/25
Stopped for a late lunch (around 2:30p) "Lunch" menu is served till 3p. My husband & I were seated in a booth right away. Our waiter was VERY rude. We each had a Dos XX ($5/ea) and we ordered off the "lunch menu" ($10/per person) I ordered the burrito and my husband ordered another special (I think it was #2 on the menu - could have been a beef enchilada and chicken taco)
My plate had a lot of food (burrito, rice, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes)
The meat in the burrito was "burnt" looking like it was old and added to the new batch - not a lot of spices which is good for me (I am a total wimp with spicy foods) My husband plate was smaller and he made the comment that it wasn't spicy at all.
Chips and salsa were generous. Our bill came to a total of around $33 - not too bad for lunch these days I guess.
There were 3 women a booth behind me that were very loud and annoying to hear them "cackling" like school girls - maybe too many margaritas?
We will not be going back

Authentic Mexican food prepared and served by authentic Mexican people.

I had Chile verde and it was outstanding. My son had carne asada tacos and they were delightfully moist and flavorful. My wife enjoyed chicken enchiladas and she thought they were the best she ever had. The margaritas are large and cost effective.

The fried ice cream for dessert is muy Bueno.

Tier favorite in my household! The food was alright. The portion size are unbelievably small! Literally a quarter size portion of beans on my plate rich was also a small portion. The chimichangas are small and also have a small amount of meat. The shrimp tacos were all lettuce with two pieces of shrimp. The margaritas are very watered down no taste at all for the price. Ordered two steak tacos and a California burrito.
The taco meat was bland and the tortilla wasn't filled completely. There's no way around saying it. Thankfully the salsa roja was there to provide some flavor, but it was not spicy in the slightest.

The burrito was not wrapped tightly and was falling apart to where it was like I was eating a burrito bowl. Same meat, so same issues there. The burrito was mostly Spanish rice, and didn't have much in terms of veggies. Additionally, it seemed underfilled, especially for the price. Last, they topped the burrito with cheese and an enchilada sauce, though this was not listed on the menu.

The tortilla chips tasted like they were day old. Not fully stale, but not really fresh.

I'm giving this place 3/5 because it was fast, and I didn't get sick.

My husband took me here because he knows I love Mexican food, we're from Milwaukee, so we know authentic.

He's diabetic and can't eat much (carbs) and saw they had Caesar salad and thought, "Bonus!".
Caesar salad was weepy iceberg, tomatoes, guacamole, onion, croutons, tiny cold chicken shreds with drizzled.. dressing? on top.
That folks, isn't a Caesar salad (he hates tomato and onion 😆).

Had wings; asked if they were breaded, was told no. they're slightly breaded. Not too awful but hub was worried about breading.

My food was bland (beef had no seasoning ), piled high with weepy lettuce and tomato (soggy shells), cold watery sauced enchiladas, and the tamale was 99% corn meal with an itty bitty bit of meat. I felt like we paid $50 for lettuce and tomato and crap quality "Mexican food".

I was disappointed but didnt fuss in the restaurant. I let the waiter know we wanted a box (chicken food), paid our bill, and left. Waiter was rushy and rude (eye roll and sigh when hub ordered salad, wanting to snatch the signed bill before we left, hovering while signing etc.) so i didnt leave a tip; be kind and I'll tip.

Today i found out he wrote himself a $10 dollar tip. Lovely.

This was my first time here, I ordered a Burrito California to go. When I called the order in, I asked if it came with rice and beans and the worker said "yes". However after I got home with the food, there were no rice and beans, but there was a side of chips and salsa. The salsa was watery and bland. The burrito was topped with an enchilada sauce, which was not mentioned on the menu. The burrito was placed in an aluminum pan container, and looked somewhat unappetizing that way. The sauce made the burrito soggy which I did not like. The burrito itself was OK, but I have had better. Not too impressed so far

The drinks are strong but out of a bottle, so sugary, hard on stomach’s and not my kind of drink. This is Cedarburg we expect more.

The molcajete was good but again lacking flavor. I believe this place might do well as long as they start seasoning everything and please season your rice and beans don’t just open a can.

This place seems to have popped up virtually overnight, but it is already the pride of Cedarburg! There is more seating than you would expect, a large menu with traditional Mexican food (as well as more modern or Tex Mex takes), and absolutely phenominal margaritas. The service was impeccable, the food was delightful, and I cannot recommend the margarita tower higjly enough. What a lovely experience! And do NOT leave without trying the flan!

Not a fan of the bright white overhead lighting as if I’m the waiting room to talk to my doctor. They could definitely spice the place up a bit. I also got carded twice for my drink. Very nice place with fun decorations. Tasty food with a huge menu. There is something for everyone. There is tons of seating. Margaritas are a little weak but very refreshing. We will be back.

We have been here three times and have not been disappointed in the least. The service is prompt and courteous. The menu is large with many welcome choices. We started with the value lunch options and really enjoyed them immensely along with the complimentary chips and salsa. On our next visit we tried the specialty Fiesta Burrito and Enchiladas Lemon Lime. The cheese sauce, pork in the burrito and lemon lime sauce on the chicken enchiladas were amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try anything with that pork! Thank you La Cantina.

I love this place so much. It is the best place to have a sit down meal on a Saturday night with your family. The only thing that should be changed is that there is this Panchos Lemon Lime Chicken and it is sooo good but I think that it should be put into a burrito. This place it awesome!

Always game for Mexican but were wondering how successfully our former local Dairy Queen could be redone as a sit down restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised! Decor was warm and richly done. Staff was very friendly and engaging without smothering you. Chips and good salsa on the table while you peruse. My goto choice is chimichangas when I'm out for Mexican and these did not disappoint, chicken was not dried out as I often find to be the case. Margaritas seemed a bit expensive on the menu, but when it came it was Huge, easily the equivalent of two normal ones elsewhere, and that was just a medium. And very sweet and flavorful. Recommended and will be back.

First time dining here and we were pleased overall. The chips and salsa arrived immediately. The chips were fresh, crisp, and tasty. We requested a hotter salsa which they quickly accommodated. Note: each salsa costs $1.00 but we did not know this until our final bill arrived. All waiters were Spanish speaking but fluent in English. Service was excellent. Plenty of staff for the busy restaurant. Nearly every table was full at 6:30pm on a Friday. The menu is quite large. We both enjoyed our meals. My friend ordered a burrito and I ordered the chimichangas, 1 beef and 1 chicken. The chimis were simple and lacked a crispy exterior, but they had decent flavor. We both ordered blended margaritas and were pleasantly surprised at how large and potent they were. The only failure in our dining experience was the dessert. I tried the tres leches cake and it was dry, frozen, and flavorless. Overall, we would both return.

The food is good but I felt lacked some spice. The tortillas for my fish tacos got soggy pretty quickly. The wings were good but I didn't know they would be breaded so that was a little bit of a surprise. The raspberry margs are great! The staff is very friendly but didn't check on us much, this may have just been our particular waiter. If you want ice water with your meal in addition to your adult beverages you'll have to ask for sure- it seems like they don't just put the water out, which is honestly good to not waste, but just FYI.

Refreshingly good experience. When I saw another Mexican Restaurant coming to Cedarburg with "Cantina" in the name, I was like ope, another one? But it was a very good experience and im glad we tried it. Food was excellent, service from our waiter was top notch and professional and they really did an nice job revamping the former Restaurant for a good atmosphere. Started out with very good chips and salsa. I had the Carne Asada Burrito and my girlfriend had the Chipotle Chicken Taco plate and both were very tasty. We also had a margerita on the rocks which was nicely presented. I will be returning again.

About two weeks ago my 15year old nephew started working at la cantina as a host, after working 3 hours he wanted to get picked up right away. He said the was saying things in Spanish to other employees about my nephew that “you have to talk to the boy in Chinese cause it seems he doesn’t know Spanish or English” not knowing that my nephew was raised in a Mexican house hold he’s fluent in Spanish and English. My nephew is smart, loving and kind young black/mexican man. my nephew said it seems he said it loud enough so he can hear also. So he felt very uncomfortable, unwanted there, he decided not to stay. This was my nephew first time working and it should’ve been one of the best experience for being his first job. They failed!

food is mediocre… ordered chicken nachos, order was wrong… had to have it re-made… nachos were soupy, salsa was less than mediocre in taste.. nachos came with some sort of mushy quesadilla? Not sure what that was…. Just disappointed in general…I would maybe give them another try with a different order. However the menu is huge and unfortunately maybe that has an affect on the quality.

Was too busy enjoying my lunch to take pics. But, I'm so glad to have finally tried La Cantina. I'd heard good things, and I wasn't disappointed. The Enchiladas Poblanas were yummy, as was my mom's Pollo Rancheros. And the toddler loved her quesadilla and beans.

But, better than the food was the service. Every single staff person greeted us and offered us attentive, friendly service. We will definitely be back. 🙂

Our 1st visit on a busy Wednesday night about 6:30. The place was packed but the 3 of us were seated almost immediately. Very friendly staff. Chips & salsa was placed on the table. Chips didn't break while dipping (+) the salsa didn't have much of a kick at all and was just okay. Ordered the flight of Margarita's. We wish they would have labeled what Margarita was what. All were good but really couldn't decifer which was which. Ordered Tres Maria, Burrito Grande & Burrito Acapulco. All very good. Our server was wonderful (wish I would have remembered his name). All in all a good experience. I wish them success!!

Great experience. If you’re craving large portion Mexican-style dishes that don’t skimp on size or tequila, this is the place for you.

My wife and I were seated right away. The chips and salsa were great, and the margaritas were fantastic—not thick and syrupy. The quesabirria dish I had was fantastic. They brought out the consommé halfway through our meal, but honestly, it wasn’t needed. The tacos were juicy and VERY flavorful.

My wife and I are local to Cedarburg, and I’m glad we decided to become regulars even before we got our food. The decision was made based on the drinks, which, as you can see, are as big as my head.

It was okay. Their prickly pear margarita was delicious. My sisters horchata was not good, it tasted like it was from a can. I ordered chicken chimichangas and they were okay. The rice and beans were good but the chicken tasted like there was no flavor to them. Our server kept coming up to us and telling us he’d be back to take our order and that they’re very busy. I kind of felt rushed and almost dismissed by him when he took our orders. The food is definitely overpriced. I'll go back to try again when it’s not as busy, maybe the food will be better.

Our group of four arrived well before dinner rush.. Service was ok. Our waiter seemed very overwhelmed/frustrated by the crowd and didn’t have a great attitude. We waited over an hour to get our food. Many tables that were seated after us received their food well before we did. After waiting quite awhile, the waiter brought us the wrong order.. When we finally did get our food, it was lukewarm/cold. The flavor of the food was good - just cold. A little disappointed with our experience. Hoping to give it another try in the future once they’re more established.
