Bought chicken and beef tacos last year. The chicken came cubed. I spent 40 years living next to Blue Island. Never once have I seen a cubed chicken taco. Very bland as well. The beef was burned to a crisp and super greasy. Literally crunched.

Ive been there twice now, since I moved out here, and very subpar food from both orders. I just cant bring myself to go back and try it again.

Our waiter was super quick and nice, but the food wasn't great I was pretty disappointed. My tamale was DRY, like really dry which was sad since tamales are usually my favorite. I got a Mexican style ground beef taco and the meat wasn't seasoned at all which made the whole thing super bland. The only thing in my combo that had flavor was the enchilada, but even in that the pork was super dry.

Way over priced for tiny portions of bland food. I was expecting the chicken that goes into any of the items to actually be seasoned line taco chicken meat. It was just square chunks of plain chicken & out was the same on all the items in my combo. Tasted like caved chicken. The place was empty & service was lazy, no take out menus &the web site was down. The kid really didn't want to place the order for me in person but kept directing me to order online. The online ordering was infuriating & unclear on how to operate it. I almost gave up. I had to go back in to ask some questions & then he offered to take my order after I spent 10 min inputting the whole order. I went through xtra steps to add cheese to the tacos & didn't get it on any of the items.
2 xtra tacos was $6 & they were the size of sliders. Chimichanga was only meat & cheese.
Spent over $60 for 3 dinners & 2 tacos. Never again. Not only over priced but not great quality food & terrible ordering experience.

Food is alright at best and prices are outrageously high. 5.50 for rice and beans as a side after asking the waitress how much it was before I ordered it. She told me it was 3.50 plus tax. Then when asked she lied and said I only asked for rice. Between the high prices and being lied to by the waitress. Definitely would not recommend or will be going back.

The food has always been pretty good here, however in the last year or so, the cost of the meals and tacos have become ridiculously high. $3.50 for an American style ground beef taco, $2.99 for the Mexican style, on the smallest tortillas. We won't be back until the pricing is more reasonable. I think COVID turned many business owners into gougers. There no longer is an issue with the supply chain.

Found a hair in my taco, called to let them know so hopefully they could make better precautions so this didn’t happen again.

The next time I ordered food for take out, it took a lot longer than expected so I sat a waited for the order to be done. When I mentioned something about the wait, I was told if I didn’t like it to take my business somewhere else. This was said after they had taken my payment. Got home with that order and there was a big piece of plastic laid out across the tacos. Haven’t been back since and have no intentions of returning.

I cannot believe I've not been here before... Great Mexican food! I had the children enchiladas, my go to test for any Mexican restaurant. They were fabulous, with excellent chicken, not the shredded stuff. My table mates had the steak quesadillas and tacos. The taco shells were authentic and tasty.

This is a great little Mexican restaurant very local to us. Yeah, the parking is cramped but it's worth it.

The food was excellent. I got the steak fajita dinner and it was delicious. My mom got fish tacos and said that they were the best she ever had. I would definitely recommend this place for delicious Mexican food. The service was pretty good but not fantastic, I think it was because it was starting to become busy and there was only one waitress. She didn't even come over once to ask how our food was. Other than that I would definitely come back.
Edit: went again today and the place was empty. We got really good service by the only waiter there. The food was excellent just like last time. Definitely will go back again.

Love me mexican food. What makes or breaks a meal is how good the little things are. Refritos or beans were thin and tasteless. Salt didn't help. Rice dry and little taste. Both merely warm. Didn't even eat after 1st bite.
Cubano sandwich ok. Fajitas good. 3-5 minutes to get tortillas for them. Taco salad meat and chz and sour cream. Not good.
We were the only table after 15 min. Server in back. Had to get him 2x for plates for our nachos. 5 min. Nachos warm then cool. Not good. Had to get him for check. 1 table in restaurant. Sorry but unacceptable. Never again. I've been in the business for 40 years so it hurts to complain but ya gotta be better when that slow. I'm not asking for reply. I'm not asking for anything. Just read and learn. Thx.

Food was great, service was a little slow because they were getting slammed on take out as the phone kept ringing the whole time we were there. The atmosphere was good to begin with, but some guys walked in, sat around the corner from us and proceeded to drop F bombs and other colorful descriptive words. My daughter said I don't even swear that much when working at home in the yard IN PRIVATE. They got some alcoholic beverages and that for them going even more... so is it the establishments fault, no BUT remind the customers they need to respect the people with kids around them as this wasn't some biker bar in TJ.

I would give 3 1/2 at the beginning of the dinner but at the end and we received bill..rating dropped to 2. Definitely over priced. Kids meals were between$6.50-7.50 and that's not including a drink. The bill had msc charge and extra charge listed. We needed more clarification to make sure we werent getting ripped off. But mu family wasn't a fan of the beef tacos. I'm from Chicago and I visited Wisconsin for the weekend. This was the closest restaurant from Wilmot Mountain. From someone who always cooks Mexican food, this restaurant had authentic Mexican food. I love spicy sauce and when I asked for some they knew exactly what to bring out. I had the 4 flauta steak order and my boyfriend had the skirt steak and we cleaned our plates. We loved the food so much we actually ordered 10 tacos to go, to eat for dinner. Next Wisconsin visit~ I will be stopping here again.

update: Gone down hill fast. Service is terrible and the food Is awful.
I get places are short staffed but when you are the only table in the place and they take 20min to bring you a drink that's watered down and over a hour for terrible cold food that's an issue.

The ground beef was very salty (I like salt but it was too much for me) the cheese enchilada needed a little more cheese and sauce. I come on Tuesday for .99c tacos most of there tacos and Friday fish taco only for the .99c taco special. One of my complaints is chips and salsa. The salsa is more of a sauce not salsa. The staff are very nice. Parking fills up quick may have to walk a distance mainly on Friday night do to AYCE Fish Fry from Mad Dan's Restaurant across the street.

We drive up to Twin Lakes from Carpentersville, IL. We've eaten at La Casita at least 5x now. It's a small place. Looks a bit different than the pix. The food We've had has been pretty good. We've tried several different items. The shrimp quesadilla was really delicious. My husband liked his torta de pastor.
The waitress and waiter are very friendly and pleasant. We'll be back I'm sure.👍
