We were seated right away and had a great waitress! Food came out quickly. But, my tomato juice, hashbrowns, French toast and eggs were very bland. We sat right by the waitresses work area and they were talking/ complaining very loudly about other co-workers. Just wasn’t a great vibe or atmosphere. Won’t be going back.

The food is meh, the prices are too, and the service is TERRIBLE. I’ve been here on 3 separate occasions now and every time I’ve left feeling rather upset. On my first visit it took over an hour after we were seated to have our orders taken. On the second visit we had food that was ordered and paid for but never brought to the table. Today on this visit we decided to order ahead because we knew they would be slammed. Within the ordering service they use we were given an estimated wait time of 10 minutes. With more than that amount of time passing by the time we arrived AND the app clearly stating “order is ready”, we reasonably assumed we’d be able to walk in and grab our order. Instead, we had to stand and wait 20 extra minutes before being handed our food which I might add was done wrong! I was given an entirely different skillet from the one I ordered! I will be spending my money elsewhere from here on out

Friends insisted this is the best place for any meal, especially comfort food. I've eaten here several times the past month because they weren't lying. Fish fry, rib tips, corned beef, pot roast and lots of soups ... all delicious, just like moms. I'm back and may try the meatloaf. It's worth a try.

Typical "diner" in every sense of the word. This has been our go-to place for breakfast for many years, but after last visit, will probably stay away until improvements are made in their cleanliness and roof/ceiling structure. I am very turned off by the dingy bathrooms, always sticky tables, and the ceiling in the dining area is atrocious. Who wants to look at water damage above your head while you eat? All I can think of is how dirty the kitchen is where customers can't see if they allow such a state in their public facing area. But the breakfasts are always delicious and staff is great.

Maybe they were having a bad night but the food wasn't what you'd say good and I paid for it the next day. I ordered lightly battered shrimp and it comes out breaded from a frozen bag. My husband and daughter in law ordered Chicken Alfredo and they said it was bitter. The deserts looked like they were melting in the desert case.

Visited on 6.30.2025 and had breakfast before driving to Minnesota and Iowa. After about a 20 minute wait, I finally got served by Amber. The French Toast was excellent. I think a 4 rating is fair considering the restaurant wasn't full and several servers looked at me until Amber took my order.

I ordered a steak dinner and only got the baked potato and salad. I was told I didn't order steak and the kitchen was closing so I could not get my order. I was not charged for salad and potato. We stopped in for Father's Day breakfast. It was very busy but no wait. Service was fast and efficient. Hot chocolate was delicious! The ham steak was happening. Pancakes were thick and delicious, needed lots of syrup! Bacon was delicious, the scrambled eggs were good too, and the sausage was great(also thick and juicy)! The omelet, steak skillet, and French toast all hit the spot. You can't get better prices $40ish for 4 breakfasts with drinks. Felt like we went back in time a little, the decor helped with that. We would definitely go back again. We have been inspired to start our own Family Restaurant.

Food tasted like it came from an ancient freezer and the soup tasted Campbell canned soup. I could make something in my house better. Strawberry lemonade was very bland. Mozzarella sticks were not hot and were clearly from a freezer same with the fries they were ok but tasted like freezer. Spaghetti was OK but the sauce was clearly jarred. The chicken with the spaghetti was OK but not the best. The vegetables were clearly frozen and came from Walmart because I recognized the vegetables because my grandma cooks them. The design of the restraunt reminded me of my grandmas house. It’s a good restraunt if you have no taste buds. On the plus side it was very cheap which is no surprise saying ingredients were from a grocery store that had frozen food. Service was fine I would definitely not go here again. Definitely do not take your date here or you will break up.

Meat Skillet had maybe 4 eggs and a lot of meat. Pancakes were large and fluffy. I had eggs (3?) with hash browns(2 cups+) ham(large, thick slice) and sourdough toast for around $10.
We did have a slight wait for our table first (10 minutes) then waited 20/25 minutes for food on a Saturday morning.

20 minutes to 11 and they refused to make a blt! said they can't serve lunch till 11 which is crap! a blt is pretty much a breakfast sandwich! that's why i picked it because i didn't want most breakfast foods. then the wait staff didn't care or try to help in any way when i said i wasnt going to eat! didn't even offer to try anything! i got to watch my table eat for 20 min before i could even put my order in! usually go here all the time but this is ridiculous and i wont be coming back again! i'll drive all the way to sparta for the one there they actually seem to care for there customers

Food was very subpar. I had the special, tenderloin tips and it did not have any flavor at all. My girlfriend’s scrambled eggs were under cooked. And her chicken that was in her salad was hot and the cheese all melted in her salad and the lettuce was soft. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and smelled awful. Rude worker. I very politely came inside to ask for another syrup because they only provided one for three slices of French toast and I had asked for an extra. The nice server got me some but an older lady wanted to know what I was asking more of and she said, “well yeah usually we don’t do that.” Don’t provide enough condiments for the food? I nicely said “well it’s three slices of bread and one syrup so maybe provide some more?” She had turned her back before I even finished talking and ignored me. I’ve never had a rude server there before so I’m hoping I don’t see her again cuz I didn’t appreciate her snarky attitude as if my 20 cent syrup is coming out of her pocket. I would have paid extra for it honestly!! Kind of annoying.

We had a family dinner at La Crosse Family Restaurant tonight to celebrate my son's birthday, and our service couldn't have been better! Not only did Alina bring out our son's food with a lit candle stuck in his chicken strip (he was so excited), but she also drew a Happy Birthday picture on the back of our bill. The entire time she was there, she was attentive, kind and incredibly thoughtful. Alina deserves a raise, and single handedly made us want to return for another meal. Thanks, Alina!
