My daughter and I ate there last night and it was a great experience! My wife was working late at middle school conferences and of course our daughter wanted McDonalds, but driving past La Fogata, she agreed to try something different. I tried their new cowboy burrito with cactus and it was delicious highly recommend. But the star of our meal was a new soup they have Pozoloe Rojo I believe was the name. Just the right amount of spice and cooked just right. Our daughter LOVED it. Plus the service was great. Definitely going back in the future!

Been here plenty of times, unfortunately we have had issues in the past but not anything too serious. This time it was different. After eating most of our meal, we noticed a few pieces of very uncooked chicken 🤢 the manager was nice enough to cover the bill and looked just as shocked as we were about the chicken. Just hoping my family and I don’t get sick from this. The staff is very friendly but I have no intention on going back after today’s incident.

After a short walk along Lake Michigan we decided to have an early dinner at La Fogata. The host sat us out on the outside patio without asking us our preference. Since the patio was right at a very busy intersection, it was not the best atmosphere. However, our server (Patty) was wonderful and we chose to stay at that table. She made sure we knew what the specials were and that it was still Happy Hour.
We ordered Elote (mild) and it was so delicious that we ordered another to take home!
Whenever we are in the Kenosha area, this restaurant is a must!!

Very good food I had their summer Mahi-Mahi taco special another had steak taco another a bowl and the fourth had birrca tacos. They were very friendly helpful staff the person with the bull couldn't decide what salsa they wanted on theirs so they brought a sample of all four options it was enough for everyone to try a little at the table as well. The food was great and the service was great. We were visiting from out of town and made this a necessary stop for one meal! The service was excellent and the staff is friendly. The only negative is that we were originally sat at a table that was over a drain in the floor. There was an odor at this table and standing water under our feet. We asked to move and were quickly accommodated and went on to have an amazing meal.

The food was cold. The meat was rotten. It had a horrible taste and flavor. We complained to the waitress and we let her know. She stated the manager said he or she could not do anything about it!! We were new clients to this restaurant. I ordered the fajita plate and it had alot more vegetables than meat and layed in a bed of grease. My husband ordered the tampiqueña plate ant the meat was rotten and smelled aweful. Will never be back to this place. I ended up paying the entire tab. All I wanted was for the manager to come and speak to us or at least offer my husband a fresh cooked meat. Very disappointed.

Went for a relaxed anniversary dinner a few days ago and the food was great as always. We really enjoy the authentic style tacos. The main reason for this positive review is the excellent service we observed from our waitress, Gigi. Even though we were a bit before the main dinner rush, she was hustling from table to table as if they were running at full capacity and checked in multiple times during the meal to make sure everything was going well. We were really impressed by her effort and hospitality and are more likely to return next time we are back in town.

+ Food was delicious, especially the guac. I had enchiladas & my spouse had tacos. Both were excellent!

Stopped here on a warm Sunday night with some friends, and enjoyed sitting on the patio to soak up the summer weather, it felt refrigerated inside.
The menu had a tempting assortment of margaritas, but our server said a new item was white sangria, so we decided to share a liter of that. It was quite sweet and pretty strong, but delicious. We ordered fresh guacamole, which had a lot of onion in it, but was a nice accompaniment to the fresh crispy chips.
My Mom loved her enchiladas, one friend had impressive looking fish tacos, and another had the Baja wrap, because it was unique for a Mexican restaurant. I’m gluten free and was excited to see enchiladas as an option, but they were barely warm by the time I got them, and corn tortillas at that temperature are kind of tough and hard to eat.

We went here on a Monday night to meet friends. This was our first visit but our friends had been there before and recommended it. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Food was fast and delicious. I got the Cali Burrito and it was enough for 3 more meals after that…it was HUGE …(thats what she said). Besides the size, the pork shoulder they used was on point. Great flavors!!! Also, i recommend getting the special appetizer “(insert name)”, it was a mexican street corn style dip with flamin’ hot cheetos dust on top. Cool original idea we’ve never seen in a mexican style restaurant before.

Mixed reviews on this one...good salsa with just enough heat, but the guacamole was super mild and not very tasty. Burritos and rice were good, but the specialty dish I wanted was not available anymore even though it was listed on the menu. I ended up with a fajita, but it was super soaked with oil with a large amount in the pan... it was swimming in it. And it was so messy it splattered all over and stained my clothing :(.

Based on my family members' recommendation, we choose La Fogata to get together for dinner and drinks. I was only in town a few days, and we hoped to have a few drinks. good conversation and decent food. What we experienced was worse than I have come to expect from Taco Bell. The waitress, although nice when she showed up, didn't show up much. It was a slow night. Maybe they were napping in the back? The inexperienced manager failed miserably. Avoiding customer contact seemed to be the goal of all staff members. The manager's lack of customer service training was obvious by his rude and condescending tone when he finally came to the table. I would not recommend this restaurant based on my recent experience.

From the appearance and change of menu it appears the restaurant is under new ownership. The restaurant itself is desperately in need of an update and thorough cleaning. The decor, booths, tables, chairs, floor and restrooms are outdated. The previous menu was extensive and offered a variety of options. The new menu looks like a fast food chain menu. The glass in which my beverage was served was filthy. Several customers we having to ask the wait staff repeatedly for water, utensils and parts of their order which were missing. The food was subpar at best. Our waiter barely spoke English. Suffice to say, I won't be returning to La Fogata again.

It was my first time there and I was meeting a friend I haven’t seen in a very long time. We met at noon for lunch (did a lot of catching up) but didn’t get out of there until 6pm!!! Margaritas are obviously from a mix, salsa was smokey and not fresh-tasting. We tried the queso blanco, it was basically white Velveeta. Looked like a nice restaurant so I ordered some take out. First of all when I got home all the food was cold. I ordered a carne asada burrito dinner. The burrito was 80% lettuce with a little meat at the bottom. No sauce for the burrito. And no take out cutlery. No napkins. Even McDonald’s gives you napkins. Had lunch at La Fogata today at noon. There were a couple of tables still available. I had a wrap with chicken, guacamole etc. It was delicious and large, so I brought half of it home. There is a seating area around the bar, I like sitting there when the weather is

We have driven by La Fogata on multiple occasions and almost always remarked, "We have to try that place some day.", and today we made that mistake.

This "Mexican" restaurant has to be the most unauthentic and quite possibly the worst in existence.

The chips, while a tad salty, were okay, but the salsa was horrible. I've had more flavorful ketchup.

The food - we typically try a burrito at a new place as they are hard to mess up, but mess up, they did! My fiance's carnitas burrito was whatever two steps below luke-warm is called. My "Hipster" was okay, but for the price they should give a bit more sour cream and perhaps provide some guacamole. The rice and beans were very unremarkable. The overall presentation is best described as "blah".

The drinks - my margarita was okay, but nothing remarkable, and for the price, it should have been. My fiance's Dos Equis was colder than her burrito, but not by much.

We saw a group sit down, look at their menus, then immediately get up to leave. I wish we would have done the same thing as this place is incredibly expensive for the low quality food they serve.

Seriously, don't eat here. It will probably upset you. A six pack of hard tacos from and a bottle of your favorite Mexican beer would provide a more satisfying and authentic dining experience.

The only saving grace was our server, Abigail. She was awesome and deserves to work somewhere better.

We were visiting from Phoenix with our friend that live in Kenosha. They go here often and highly recommended eating here. We were not disappointed . We ate here Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 6:00 PM. Little disappointed that the six of us could get a table in the outer back area. We were seated at a table near entrance. The service was fair as our waitress had many tables to service. My wife and I ordered the Truck Street Tacos with tilapia fish. Excellent choice. Delicious. We received three large tacos. Tasty. Usually have fish tacos with cod. amazed that our friend had the home made guacamole . Also delicious. The menu was great selection of homemade Mexican food. Plenty of on site parking in their parking lot. Plenty of seating. Enjoyed having our waitress serve us continually more tortilla chips and yummy salsa without extra charges. Use to speak very highly of this restaurant, went yesterday & got very sick from the chicken tacos, it’s kind of upsetting because the food was really good at one point, something just wasn’t right yesterday.

Ordered two shredded chicken enchilada plates and both of the plates had huge chunks of chicken in each enchilada , I mean don’t bet me wrong ,more is better but not in this case. Barely ate them because the chicken chunks were way too big. Like a whole chicken breast rolled in a tortilla… for the price of the food do better .

The food here was pretty good but The outdoor seating was not as good. The food tasted very good with all the different flavors. I would definitely recommend it. The mist in the outdoor seating made it very humid and hot and I was not so pleased with it. Overall, this place deserves a 4 star.
