We have been here so many times before but this particular day We walked in as a black family we waited at the front for at least 5 minutes trying to flag any or everybody down. There was people behind the bar that seen us and did not say a word to us. We tried flashing down the bussers they acted as though they didn't know English and continued to do whatever they was doing with any recognition. A women came from the back and looked right at us and walked right past and went behind the server counter without saying a thing! Another man walked up behind her and started communicating with her and seen us and didnt say a word. Couple seconds later a white couple comes thru the door and the Mexican man greets them instantly. Asking them how many were in the party as though we were not standing there for at least 5 minutes. We spoke up and told them we were sitting here for at least 5 minutes and nobody said anything to us. He then proceeded to grab the menus as we trying to do explain and walked off and left us trying to but put us at just any table. We then sat there to debate if we were staying or leaving because of the energy we were getting from everyone. Then the server comes to put salsa and chips down without not even acknowledging us or saying anything to us and just walks off with a attitude. We then got up and left with no hesitation. If you are not white or Mexican please do not go because they will discriminate! I do not even leave reviews but I decided to today to warn people of my race. Highly does not recommend!

Starting with service, our server was nice and warmed a very hard icecream the server kitchen us. Then going onto atmosphere there was mostly Caucasians who would give us stares every minute, very uncomfortable. Lastly was the food, it tasted bland with no spices even their chicken tenders and fries were obviously from a grocery store and not handmade. The only good food was churros and the Mexican pizza.

I ordered the mini combination tostada and chimichanga and the house enchiladas. Only came with 1 tiny sour cream. Also the tostada was the size of a pancake. It hardly had any steak on it and paper thin smear beans. Im very disappointed. For the price they charge you don't get your money's worth. My chimichanga was probably the size of 2 fingers. I've been here twice probably won't be back.

Went on a Friday night. Seated quickly, but service wasn’t great. Server had too many tables and disappeared for long stretches. Took a while to get drinks and refills.

Food was solid. Fajitas were generous and came out hot. Chimichanga was fine. Two Diet Cokes ended up at $12—charged for refills, which felt excessive. Also charged extra for sour cream and cheese.

Bar was loud. A group of eight made conversation almost impossible for a while—acoustics are rough. Better once they sat down, but still noisy. Patio looks big and nice but ate inside.

More personality than Don Julio’s or a chain, though it doesn’t feel fully authentic. The building has character. Decent spot if you’re not in a hurry and don’t mind the noise.

Bad and expensive, that is a $7.5 steak (asada) taco. The meat is dry and over cooked. Probably prepare in advance and then reheat or kept warm during the day. Anyway, this place is more like a wanna be Mexican place with high prices targeting Americans. I’m from Mexico and been in several Mexican, Tex-Mex, Cal-Mex restaurants in Milwaukee and sadly this one is one to avoid. Rice was also bad, little dry and not best texture we order enchiladas de mole and not the best. The only good thing about this place was the service specifically Berenice.

Margaritas are made in a machine (with the cheapest tequila available). A half pitcher.. 2 drinks, costs $22.50. The inside of the restaurant is drab and worn, almost like a hall adorned with cheap tables and chairs. Food is very high priced for very cheap Mexican fare. You will be hard-pressed to keep your bill after tax and tip under a hundred dollars. For Mexican food, this is just outrageous. Many restaurants have become absurd after covid and jumped on the inflation bus. Greed, greed, and a little sprinkle of more greed. If everyone abandoned restaurants for 45 days, I would guarantee that menus would be reprinted with cheaper prices.

I was charged $7.50 for a single Pastor Taco, and the meat was pale and unappetizing. They also charged $5 for chips and salsa, but the portion of salsa was tiny and served in a disposable plastic container. To top it off, my margarita was served in a plastic cup because they said they had run out of proper glassware, even though the drink itself was good. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

My family and I have been going to La Fuente for 30+ years (mostly at the other location on S. 5th Street - closed) and haven't had no complaints until yesterday around 4 PM. We were seated promptly and had to wait about 10 minutes before our order was taken. My husband ordered a house Margaretta, my son ordered a Modelo beer and I ordered a lemonade (no free refills). My husband didn't get his Margaretta until I asked the server about it. I asked for more chips and salsa twice because I thought the basket of chips and the salsa wasn't enough for 3 people. My husband & my son ordered 2 each Pork Chimichangas which had potatoes in it. I ordered a mini combination one chicken enchilada and one chicken Chimichanga (no potatoes in mine). All meals came with rice and beans. The food and beverages were just ok. The service was poor. The prices were considerably more expensive than other Mexican restaurants we frequent. We get unlimited refills on chips, salsa, soda and other beverages at other Mexican restaurants that we frequent. All and all we didn't have a very good experience. Sorry to say we will no longer be returning to La Fuente. It used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant. So sad!

My first time here, but my local friends are huge fans of La Fuente. They've followed them through a location change even. My steak taco was a little grissely, and my cheese enchilada was just ok. Kind pricey in the end. Sodas are not free refills although it appears to be on tap. Chips and salsa are only complimentary for the 1st round i believe. any extra orders and they will charge you.

I ordered the chimichanga and it was $15 for a small, flavorless plate. Do not get it… you also get charged extra if you want a little bit of salsa. If you enjoy Sizilling Fahittas dont order here....Waitress said the owner no longer wants it to come out Sizilling because it gets too smokey! I have never heard of such a thing! The smell and display is always amazing and other tables smile and love the smell/smoke....$25 for chicken and steak combo and the steak was so thinly cut not much and not much chicken, plenty of peppers! Not worth the price at all.....Its odd because a couple weeks prior the table by the bar had a Sizzling 3 combo, nice smell and Sizzling display. My luck, I order for the very first time and no Sizzle at all....I use to love this place however, the extra chips/soda refill prices and less food and now this has be very dissapointed. The owner will see she is losing allot of business. At La Salsa the price is half the cost for huge portions and Amazing Sizziling Fahittas!

Ordered a spicy steak dish. When it came out, it was not spicy at all, even to my wife's sensitive palette. I asked them to remake it spicy, even after one of the waiters confirmed visually that I did not get a spicy dish. Portions are smaller than they use to be.

me and my boyfriend stopped to eat here before an appointment we had. we got here at 140 and were seated. we placed our orders fairly quickly as we knew we were on a time crunch and only had about 50 minutes (so almost an hour). i ordered the steak picada and my boyfriend ordered camarones a la diabla. we then proceeded to wait HALF AN HOUR and still got nothing. the waiter kept telling us our food was coming up right away and we asked for the food to go seeing as the 50 minutes was almost up. he then eventually came and told us our food was going to take a long time. we were forced to cancel our order and had a yummy lunch of water 😍😍😍 0/10 would not recommend.

Their food and services is usually very good at a very good price. My only compliant is with a 40-minute wait, they have 30 people in the waiting area with no chairs?!

Warning: if you order ahead for carryout, they don't start your food till you get there to pick it up!

Now they're getting extra skimpy with salsa. No more refills on soda. And they're putting potatoes in there burritos enchiladas and tacos as fillers instead of just meat.

It's a shame I've been coming here for a long time but no need to go back. At least At Taco Bell you can get refills on your soda.

Had my 39 th birthday there a while ago they song happy birthday to me last but I was the first person there with my small crew, and they call me Bertha refused to pronounce my name I told them my name is Darnise they said they didn’t acknowledge me. This was October as much money as my friends and I spent and my husband brought me take there. I might’ve been 15 to 20 pounds over still look very good was proportionate. Any ways I reported to the manager at the time I think a white guy or maybe they lied he laughed and I told him I didn’t think it was funny he apologize but still chuckle then he credit the money back to my card the he said they required a nightly tip it was automatic I am like that’s fine I don’t have a problem my Dad taught me about giving tips years ago because people lived off them. But they gave sorry service act like they didn’t see us for a while so they could tend to their own kind. I love Mexican food and Cinco de Mayo but stop celebrating years ago. Prior I was saying how much Mexican work hard and really earned there tips. I told my crew we are going have a great time but it sucked I never went back. It’s been some years too! Location I think was south fifth or sixth street. I am sorry if you are new managers there now but this is my truth my crew can verify.

My dad ordered a taco salad and it didn’t really look appetizing so he asked the waiter can he exchange it for something else, he never even touched the salad or took a bite out of it. Food was decent. Service really good. Will not likely return based on them giving a table
of 6 people 2 SMALL cups of salsa
and we asked for more and then discovered we were changing $1 for each one he brought. Never informed. Also one basket of ships per tiny cup of salsa. Way too many Mexican options without being stingy with chips and salsa. We did also have alcoholic beverages. $163 bill and charged $1 for extra salsa with our chips. They lost a customer.

We went on a Saturday afternoon, and we definitely went at the perfect time. We had a very sweet waitress who was new. She did an excellent job. The food was amazing. The chips and salsa was outstanding. We also had the chimichanga and a soft taco with beans, rice and guacamole. We also had a combination plate that included a chimichanga and enchiladas with rice and beans. We also had a strawberry margarita and a gold margarita. Everything was wonderful and delicious. The only thing is that it looks like they automatically put all the Black people in the back. I hope I’m wrong; however, I doubt it. Do better La Fuentes . . . We are watching! I would hate to be right, but I’ll pay closer attention the next time I go.

Consistently great service, food and drinks. Super friendly staff even when it's busy! Even when it's crowded the staff is highly attentive and the food is always top notch! No long waits for drinks and food and you never feel rushed! Generous portions are the norm and the prices are reasonable. Hours of operation have changed due to staffing issues and menu options have been adjusted somewhat.

Used to love going to La Fuentes on 91st and Bluemound but they definitely aren't my first choice anymore. Went there after working Brewers opening day with a few coworkers like we always used to and was disappointed in a few things... Now they're charging for chips and salsa after the first basket (before chips and salsa was unlimited complimentary), the place and decorations need upkeep, and the atmosphere just felt off and not as fun as it used to be. Even the lighting felt almost intrusive and like they just wanted you to eat and leave in a hurry. Not to mention their hours aren't conducive to making more money since they close so darn early every night. I hate to say it but we'll be finding a new place to visit after work from now on. On a good note, our waitress was extremely sweet, bubbly and attentive and deserved her well-earned 22% tip.

This place is gorgeous! The food is delicious. But our waitress was a ray of sunshine. I wish Karla could be at every place I dine. Her customer service skills was the best. I will be back most definitely. I recommend LA Fuente.

Even though it took me longer than the 15 mins they told me it would take for my order to be ready, I had to wait about 20 mins at the restaurant for my call-ahead to go order. If I would have been able to sit somewhere while I waited, instead of standing feeling like I was in the way it would have been much better

This place is a shell of its former self. Chips and salsa refill is $4 ordered a small quesadilla got charged for a full size. Kids menu item they were out of a item that comes with the meal got charged as we got everything. Oh and $10 house margarita! Absolutely disappointing. And the food was par at best
