We went here for the "good food" that we read in the reviews. What we ended up having was a Pep's pizza that we could've just bought at Trig's for half the price. The cheesecurds were cube like, not a traditional cheese curd. The bartender was less than pleasant and seemed to only care about the locals that were there. Our first time there and no welcome, no thank you for stopping, no kiss my butt, nothing. We won't be back!

Had our monthly snowmobile meeting at LaCannes in their pavilion. Awesome venue to have an event! The food they served was great, beverages cold, and atmosphere very comfortable for a cooler wet November evening. Would definitely consider having another event there! Thanks Angie and Wendy!

Stayed in the Whitetail cabin, very clean, smelled great,was skeptical at first, as the photos really don't show you the patina of the place. You could tell there have been some updates!!

We were the only ones here and it was quite pleasant. Used the pontoon,it was primitive,as the owner warned, but it worked for our tour on the lake.

Dusty was a very friendly bartender and Rachelle was nice too.

The only thing that was not great was the water situation,ZERO water pressure which made it a bit of a challenge trying to get our group showered and flushing the toilet!!

In all it was a nice place!!

We hope to visit again!

Update: just a couple weeks after my review they paved their driveway and it’s wonderful. The owners are amazing as they have done a great job of making this a place a great place to party. Improvements have been made to the property both inside and outside. They have something fun going on all the time. Way to go.

Definitely not motorcycle friendly. Great place with wonderful staff but definitely not a motorcycle friendly driveway. Sad too, with “Fall Ride” in just a few short weeks away. We’ve been out there twice on a motorcycle and had difficulty parking without tipping over the bike . Was told it was going to be compacted weeks ago but did a drive through today on 4 wheels and still no signs of improvement. 😢

Very fun, great service. The staff is great and very attentive. We did spend the weekend in one of the cabins. It was newly remodeled, very cute and comfortable. Make sure you have some Swamp Water, but be careful they are good and can sneak up on you. When you stop in or stay, tell them I said hello. We will be back!!!

An absolute stop whenever in the Northwoods! Great atmosphere, setting, amenities and most of all, wonderful owners and employees. A nice resort/bar not too far off 51, but yet far enough. Very kid-friendly. Quite a bit of updating has been done and looks fantastic. Dave and Angie host many events through out the year. Need to always check their FB page to see what they have coming up!

Fun place. We came on UTVs. They were having their first anniversary celebration. Really nice outside pavilion. Beautiful view to the water. Nice bar. All newly renovated and nice touches. Lots of cabins to rent. We only had drinks. Nice bartender too.

A group of us stayed in a cabin at LaCanne’s Resort on Swamp Lake and we had the best time! The cabins are very cozy and cute, the beds are super comfortable and the hospitality was fantastic! Everyone was very pleasant and went out of there way if you needed anything. I highly recommend this place! We definitely will be back next year!

Very disappointed when we stayed. We've been staying in these cabins for 10 years, then they were sold. The new owner took some stuff out of the cabins so there was minimal seating, plus our oven and heat didn't even work (we went in late September) and thanks to the owner leaving and turning his phone off, we had no choice but to go out and BUY a space heater, just so we weren't freezing. We have found a new spot for our family vacation now and will never be returning.

Great atmosphere under the new ownership. Can see alot of changes from the inside of the bar, to the cabins, and outdoor patio. The bar offers the unique "Swamp Water" that tastes great. First time with new owner, nice scenic location, friendly bar. Stay away from their hamburgers though. It is quite possibly the worst in the area. It was over cooked, dry and like eating a hockey puck. Had to ask for a glass of water to chock it down. At $7.00 a burger, I expected better. Good potato salad.

Shady business owner. We booked a set of 3 cabins with him in December of 2020 to be used for a week in August 2021. Payments were due in increments. He took 1st payment in December and 2nd payment in May. In June, we received notification that the cabins had been sold and the new owner will not be renting them. We were told we would get a refund which we have seen none of so far. Casey will not respond to any messages regarding the matter. It’s shady he took a payment out in May and magically sold the place a week later 🤔. Now he owns this new set of cabins. If he was a decent business owner/human he would be ensuring all money gets refunded especially when cancelling 2 months before a reservation. I would not give him a dime of your money.

Great experience! My significant other and I stayed here over New Years and had a wonderful experience. Super affordable- cute cabins with everything you’d need. The pellet heater was amazing! Easiest access for ice fishing since it’s directly on the water yet also close to bars and restaurants. I’m sure it’s amazing in summertime too! No negatives which is rare. Couldn’t have had a better time.

I stayed in cabin 2 and it was a great week to relax and unwind. The wifi was great and both my wife and I were able to work remotely when needed without issues. The views were amazing from the front windows. Casey was a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed to cook full meals and experience the lake by providing canoe and local trails to hike with our dogs. If you are considering tiny home living this will be great practice to see how it can be done well with a view.

I loved how the cabin overlooked the trees and water, it was so pretty. We enjoyed water sports, boating and just enjoying being off the grid. We rented a cabin for a week and had a great time. Nice location in a quiet bay, with views over the lake and a nearby island. Row boat, canoe, stand up paddle boards, pedal boats all free to use. Owner was nice, and the cabin had all the essentials. Allows dogs, which was a big plus for us. Would come again.

Great place to relax and unwind. We spent a lot of time on the water. First time staying at a cabin on a lake.......we will definitely be back. Casey and his family were very accommodating and available if we needed anything. Canoe, row boat, paddle boat and boards are just a few things included with your stay. We rented the pontoon for the week and I highly recommend doing that if you have older kids or like exploring. Thanks for a fun getaway week.

My wife and our 2 dogs just finished a beautiful week on the lake. Cabin 2 is perfectly located in a cove on Lake Nokomis looking at a deserted wooded island. The property is covered in trees and has one of the only sandy beaches. Also need to give a shout-out to Casey (owner) for making this a great stay.

Nice quiet place, great for all walks of adventure seekers or needing a place to get away.
Keep in mind it's a cabin, so some of the finer pleasures of home are slightly adjusted. You'll need to cook on the provided gas grill or over the fire pit, there is always the option for dining out in either Minoqua or Tomahawk.
There is fishing on the lake or any of the many nearby and trails to walk.
