It took about 30 minutes to get our meals and it was just 2 of us and the place was only about 3/4 full. It was our first time there and since the food was pretty good, we will try it again.

we had stopped in for breakfast food on a saturday around 12/1p. it took about 10/15 minutes for our waiter to come greet us. i ordered coffee, after adding cream from the table i couldn’t tell if the creamer was bad or if it was just terrible coffee. it wasn’t hot, or fresh it was so bad i didn’t even drink it. i ordered the el ranchero skillet (steak onion eggs potato & green onion) hold the cilantro sour cream & salsa. the steak was so cheap & terrible quality, flat skirt it looked to be. had that weird shiny metallic sheen meat sometimes has- so i tried to eat around it but something tasted like fish. it was just not good. i took two bites & had to push it aside. our server was pretty much never in sight & only came back about 20 minutes later to clear plates, didn’t even ask how the food was. the experience was less than subpar, don’t waste your time

Not good at all. We were sat and the woman didn’t even tell our server. So 15min later, we get our server. He wasn’t bad - he was slow but we are assuming he was the only working as the girls were too busy playing with their hair and on their phones by the drinks. So I can’t fault him. But still, 10min for drinks to come even when we were served. Pancakes - more like cardboard. Disgusting and not edible. Eggs were cold and tasted like something powdered from a box. Bacon was rubber. When we said something about the food they looked at us like we were insane. So it’s not even worth saying anything to the staff. So disappointed and not worth the money.

We had a great.breakfast here last year. Food, service were excellent. Homemade corn beef and crispy hashbrowns really stood out. Erin was our server. She was incredibly polite and attentive. Came back a few times.

A year later, Not so good this time. Country fried steaks were good, but hashbrowns cold and not cooked enuf. Asked for a better batch, she brought it when we were leaving. This was our go to for breakfast. Not anymore. Our server Maria was hard to understand. Our potatoes were raw and cold. Asked for crispy potatoes not even close. I had to flag her down to let her know. She never checked on us. We asked to have them replaced and she forgot about them. Also the coffee is extremely HOT. BE CAREFUL.

Absolutely disgusting food. I ordered the avocado burger and didn’t receive any toppings whatsoever. I also got a tunafish sandwich what was sour and uneatable. I paid over $12 for a burger with nothing on it. The food was also horrible. I also called and asked for a refund and still haven’t received it. Consistently delicious meals every time we visit!! I love being able to order a hamburger and my husband can have a breakfast skillet and my daughter can have a bowl of soup anytime of the day! Service was excellent while I waited for my lunchen friend. I had the rueben with fries. I would have liked more corned beef and saurkraut. It was still very good. The taco salad in a nacho bowl was good. According to my friend. Had the beef. It was good sized portions and the breakfasts that were still coming out looked good. Lakehouse is an excellent place for Breakfast in Oconomowoc. They’re in the place some of you may remember as the former Arby’s across from George Webb. They have transformed the place and you almost wouldn’t recognize it as an Arby’s. Food is good and prices are fair. This place is a jumping most morning because it GOOD. They are also flexible if you have a larger group and happy to setup a larger table to accommodate your need. I usually call to give them a heads up the day before.

My daughter and I stopped here for breakfast while running errands in Oconomowoc. It wasn't really our first choice, but it looked like a good spot since the parking lot was pretty full and we were so glad we stopped here. The food was fantastic, I had the lumberjack skillet and my daughter had the California Skillet. My skillet was packed full of bacon, sausage, peppers, mushrooms and cheese, no skimping on any of the ingredients. I had the sourdough toast which was fantastic also. My daughter was very happy with her choice as well. Best of all though was our waitress, Cassie, she was so friendly and attentive, stopping by several times to make sure we were happy and keeping us informed as to how long our food would take, which wasn't long at all. We had so much food, we both took home enough for breakfast the next morning. I will definitely be back!!

My husband and I are regulars at this place we enjoy coming here almost once a week for breakfast I haven’t left a review but something happened which made me have to say how amazing this place is. For some background I have crippling social anxiety so it is very hard for me to confront people. I ordered my food and asked asked for 2 things to be left out. Our food was brought my food had one thing I didn’t want in there so I told the wait staff and they tried to correct the issue. However the second thing I asked for not to be in my meal was there instead. I didn’t want to be a bother so I just started to pick it out not wanting to bother the staff again. My husband urged me to talk to them. But I insisted I would just pick out what was wrong with it. It was only when our server asked if everything was okay. That my anxiety started to get the best of me. I started to have a panic attack in the middle of the restaurant. I was really embarrassed. And I just wanted to leave. But the staff here was lovely and handled it amazingly. They didn’t bring attention to what had happened and made me a new meal. They are a great local business and I love to support them!

I had a delightful experience at Lakehouse Cafe today when I visited around 1:30. I decided to try the lunch special, which included the Beer Cheese Soup and a Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwich. The soup was a standout with a unique twist – they used popcorn as croutons, which added a delightful crunch.

Service was prompt, and my server, Terry, was attentive throughout the meal. The food arrived quickly, and what impressed me even more was the affordability – the entire meal only cost $10 before tipping.

One small suggestion for improvement would be to add a hook in the bathroom to hang up baby backpacks. While they did have a baby changing station and a trash can, this addition would make it even more convenient for parents.

The cleanliness of the place was commendable, and the music was at just the right volume – not too loud, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Lakehouse Cafe exudes a charming cabin vintage feel that adds to the overall dining experience. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try for a tasty and reasonably priced meal.

We've been on a road trip, sampling local cafes as we go. Lakehouse was easily the best out of five places - because the little things were done well! The hash browns were actually crispy. Stopped for lunch at 11am, the restaurant wasn't very busy yet it took 30 minutes to get a burger, fries and french toast. Table seated after us got their food before us, waiter was disorganized and useless. We had to ask for coffee refills twice and had to ask for the check. The patty melt burger meat was disgusting, tasted mushy and low quality. I ended up not eating the meat and just eating the bread like a grilled cheese. Parking lot is full of huge potholes. We took the trip to Oconomowoc for an errand this morning, so we decided to stop for breakfast. Lake House did NOT disappoint — it’s the best breakfast place we’ve been to for a long time! 🍳 The Loco Breakfast burrito, with chorizo, sausage, and bacon with scrambled eyes and grilled peppers, was great. It came with delicious sour cream and salsa 😋 The eggs Benedict came with crispy potatoes and sausage, and my wife was impressed with the hollandaise sauce even though she doesn’t normally eat eggs 🥚 Don’t let the location — a former Arby’s — fool you. It’s worth the trip!

We were aware of this place for awhile but didn't stop to eat till now. Pleasantly surprised, the interior felt a little outdated, but not terrible. That's my only negative though, the staff was friendly and attentive. Our server was a very nice, my husband asked for recommendations and he gladly talked about the menu and what he really thought was best.
The food was fast, fresh and tasted great.
It was calm and relaxing while we ate. It was very clean and comfortable, tables with chairs as well as booths to pick from. We visited around 11am, there were about 1/3 of the tables in use, and everyone was greeted quickly, and given the same service we received.
Bathrooms were clean too, plenty of parking. We are regulars at Kowabunga Comics nextdoor, so we'll be adding Lake House Cafe to our visits.
Today we tried the Friday fish fry (Perch), got 3 good sized pieces of fish, came with a cup of soup or salad, choice of potato, a roll and coleslaw. Our server said on Fridays you also get a free beer with a fish fry, but I declined. We also had a corn beef hash with scrambled eggs and hash browns.

Got the Cinn. Roll french toast and it was very good. Jose our waiter was very nice. Did not have to write anything down. Remarkable memory and worth his money.

Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Steak fajita wrap was excellent. Also has outdoor tables so we could have our dog with us

The four of us sat in a nice large booth, and it felt like home with how friendly everybody was. We didn't feel rushed and would definitely go back next time we visit the area.
