We only get to visit this Casino once or twice a year and always look forward to our trip up north to Lake of the Torches. It has been a while since we stayed at the Hotel but it was clean, quiet and comfortable with plenty of amenities. Friendly, helpful staff throughout the establishment and we feel very safe here. We have never been disappointed with the restaurant or dining experience and Woody's bar is a relaxing place to have a cold one. The gaming action excels with many new slots and sometimes we win a few dollars. Make it a point to visit "The Lake" when you are in the area !

We went for dinner and a little fun. They had a seafood buffet but we chose to order steak dinners. My steak was overcooked but it didn't matter much. The quality of the food was low. But to be fair, most of the people didn't seem to mind, by the look of how they were frequenting the buffet it looked like they wanted quantity. I would go again and see if I just had a couple bad dinners.

The rooms and public areas were very clean. The staff was always helpful, eager, and polite. The decor was amazing as was the setting. Food was really good and the pool area looked relaxing, although we did not use it. The back deck either covered or in covered was a delightful place to have a beer and talk about anything with friends and family. The dock on the lake could possibly allow you to being a boat and go fishing, although I would check with management first. This was just a beautiful place and I would happily stay there again.

Not happy. Bought 80 year old father a $100 gift certificate for Christmas. Dad couldn’t go. He gave to me (remember I originally bought it) and they would not honor it saying I was not the name on it. Same last name and I asked them to call me father to confirm. They would not. Will never step foot in there again. How lame!!

Our trip to the Northwoods was to attend the Celebration of Life for my brother. He lived in Lac du Flambeau for 20 years and loved it. To say we were impressed with Lake of Torches Resort/Casino is an understatement! Our room was very clean and comfortable,with great amount of storage. Every employee was professional but VERY pleasant and personable. Then there is the location. We cannot say enough about the beauty of its location and the grounds, especially the views from the decks of the lake and trees. We are already planning a family vacation there for next year. The Northwoods truly are spectacular 🤗!!!

Every machine is completely rigged! I put 40 in, about to hit a bonus so I put another 100 in.... And lost everything in 5. Typical rip off casino! Don't waste your time and hard earned money.
I have very bad knees, there isn't even a bench outside. Because they want you to go give them more money.
So I sat on the curb with my legs in the parking lot incomplete pain. But oh well I guess that's casino greed.

Went with a friend for all you can eat seafood, was pretty delicious. There isn't many places around that serve crab legs in northern Wisconsin. So we're they the best iv had no, will I go back yes! If you want fresh fresh go to the ocean, this is Wisconsin baby!

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. We aren't real serious gamblers, and we don't eat a lot of food at one time, but if you are big eaters, the buffets are to die for. And the pool area is well maintained, and the hot tub is luxurious. Everyone was so kind and helpful. We originally booked this hotel because of its proximity the Little Bohemia Supper Club, but we never got there. It was too nice at the casino to leave. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.

The hotel room was clean and most of the staff were friendly and accommodating. The beds were very uncomfortable and I had difficulty sleeping on the hard mattress. Also, the room was two queens beds but only had two pillows each which I didn’t like.

Arrived for a two night stay only to find out the casino was going to be closed from 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM. Very disappointed!!! Nothing posted on the website about this closure. No one from the casino called or sent an email about this closure. Two light bulbs out in the room. Not a nice bathroom!!!

We come up every year on vacation and make the side trip to gamble and have crab buffet-which never disappoints. Only complaint this year is the blackjack tables only have $15 minimum bets and only 2 tables open

My biggest gripe is actually about the restaurant and the service at the bar of woodys. We specifically looked up menus on the website, got here and was informed it was an hour wait. No problem, put our name in, stayed close and gambled. 45 min later we conveniently get a text saying they're ready to seat us. Fantastic! Get there, no one greets us. I ask, they're like, oh yeah a host will be with you. Guy arrives after a short wait, is the least welcoming host in service history ever (coming from someone who has waitressed, plenty of yrs btw). He walks off without saying a word. I assume we're supposed to follow him, so we do. I notice he doesn't pick up menus. Takes us all the way to a back table as far away from the exit as possible (when my mom's disabled), then kinda fusses when he realizes the 2 person table that's practically on top of the buffet is not enough space for her mobility scooter. It's after he places the silverware on the table and informs us that "plates are at the buffet" ... that I'm like, wait, it's buffet ONLY!?! "Oh yeah, our kitchen was closed today, so no menu" a passing by server said. My mom's had bariatric surgery, I never have a "buffet" appetite, and for $35, are yall really serious!?! Ugh... so we ended up at woodys "bar and grill" ... the bar is separate, the grill is only fried foods and walk up, order, come back collect your own food set up. The food was fine for fried food. Guy who took the order was a bit slow, but pleasant and trying his hardest. Older blonde haired woman at the bar just needs to retire because it's very clear she can't stand her job, acted like I was the biggest inconvenience on the face of the earth. Drinks are $$$$ - 4 crown n cokes later i had spent $50+ - Watersmeet would nevvver. About the only highlight was the lounge over by the hotel area. The man bartending was so sweet, drinks were still pricey, but his single pours about matched the double pours at Woodys (because that lady was sooooo not double pouring, those were singles ma'am. If you cant eye ball it, then use a shot glass. Or let the guy in the lounge show you what a double pour over ice looks like because he nailed it) ...and he didn't act like he couldn't wait for me to leave like the woman at woodys, which always helps. If they added some light, fresh appetizers at the Lounge, I'd just go there and never leave. Bottom line, service means everything and their bartenders at woodys and hostesses at the restaurant aren't cutting it. I'll likely never return here because of it, even tho we did get a bit lucky and had fun at the slots before it took what it gave us back.

What happened to the slot machines? Do they work? I've gambled there at least 15 times so far in 2025. I've lost between $600-$1,000 every single time. I bet between 2-$3 per spin. I can't even play for 2 hours. In 2025, I have yet to win over $472 on a single spin/bonus. How is that even possible? Since August, they have definitely tightened up these machines. Every person i know has noticed the same. Most have stop going. Guess it's time for me to do the same. In my most recent trip, I lost $600 in 40 minutes. Played 12 machines. Never had a bonus until I was down to my last $15. What did I win? $50 on a $3 bet. I already know what the response win be. That they they met the minimum payouts. Sorry, but that's a lie. The local bars pay out better. You know why the casino is losing customers? It's because their payouts are so terrible it's no fun!

The rooms are very nice, we overlooked the parking lot but it was still nice to look out and see the frost on the cars in the morning and watch the snow coming down. Carroll at the front counter is spectacular! They know what's up when they hired her to give out players club cards, answer phones, and massive numerous questions from all angles at once. No smile or greeting from the cashier. I ordered chicken straps and fries. The chicken was over fried and not edible. The chicken is a processed frozen product. Apparently there is no pride taken in the food here.

After calling in December and making a reservation for our anniversary in February I received all call confirming my check-in in January. They booked the wrong month. I then couldn’t get the room i originally wanted. Front desk at the hotel were not very friendly. Beds were hard and we had no hot water in the morning. The rest of the casino and bartenders were very friendly and greeted us and at least smiled.

My husband and I have been coming to the casino for the last 10 years and we love staying overnight when we can having a good time with the meal there at the restaurant is wonderful especially on Saturdays when they have all you can eat crab. We also appreciate how lake of the torches gives you credit with giving you some free food and drink or play with the money you earned as you attend their casino. It's also one of the cleanest casinos I've ever been in and I enjoy the lake in the summer going swimming.

The casino offers a buffet. We had a bogo coupon so we thought we'd try it. It was not up to par. The eye of round being hand cut was really tough and the buffet itself needed attention. For $25 even for 2 people it was overpriced. We would have been better off with burgers in the bar.

Overall this is a nice hotel. Rooms are clean, if not somewhat dated. The plug in our bathroom sink didn't open. We wound up switching rooms, but not because of that, but due to a a couple in the next room who were arguing and screaming at each other. The walls are somewhat thin apparently. The staff was very gracious about changing rooms. They seemed to already be aware of the commotion. The 2nd room they gave us happened to face a large utility type building and two gigantic garbage dumpsters. We had to.keep.our drapes shut as occasionally there were men right outside our window milling about some pickup trucks. But the bathroom drain did work.

This was my first casino experience and the best part of it was being taught how to play black jack (and the rules of a casino) very sweetly by the pit bosses Scott and Terry, and the dealers Shane and another one whoms name I can't remember. They were all very patient and kind. Julia, who bartends in Woody's was also awesome.
As far as the hotel, our room was nice, had a Lakeview which was lovely. The pool is nice, open pretty late and the rest of the amenities were decent. There isn't room service at night though and none of the in house restaurants open until 8 am for breakfast.
We were overall the most impressed with some of the staff we met. Thanks for making my first casino experience truly memorable guys :)
