Stopped in for lunch while doing some construction in from out of town, left two of my employees to eat lunch while I ran a couple errands and got my food to go and not only did they treat my guys great but my food came out just at the perfect time for me to pick them up when they were done eating and everything came out just right and delicious! The gal did a great job and the restaurant was very comfortable and inviting! Can't wait to come for the next phase on my work project and have lunch again!

We went for dinner with two teenagers and a large dog. They have a very large grassy outdoor seating area in the lot next door and it was perfect. Umbrellas and some shade trees make it great. they even had a water bowl for our dog.

The food was even better than the atmosphere. We got the big tenderloin, a chicken sandwich, and I don't remember what else. It was all great. This was the best food we ate on the lake in a very relaxed environment. It looked like the indoor seating was a little fancier, but that is compared to being outside with a dog...

My husband and I were so looking forward to having lunch here recently, We came hear a couple times years ago for both lunch and dinner and the food was excellent each time. But yesterday was a disappointment. The soy chile marinated flank stank was not edible. It tasted like drinking soy sauce straight out of the bottle. We also ordered pizza, which we ended up sharing and that was good. The ambiance was nice, we were seated right away, waitress was attentive and we received our food quickly. Not sure we would come again though. I've never had food that was completely inedible anywhere else.

My burger was grilled to perfection. The best burger I've had in years. The staff was fun, informative, and talkative without being intrusive. We sat at the bar, and I found the bar stool to be hard to get into. Once I was seated, I was very comfortable. I am not sure if the seating issue was my problem or the bar stool's problem. (Most likely my issue).

Disappointed to be writing this review after such a great experience around a year ago. The fresh bread never arrived and we kept being told it’s almost done. It was bizarre. Maybe just ask the kitchen? Bread is pretty standard and when you serve fresh bread all the time you know how long it’s going to take… The steak and potatoes were room temperature when they finally arrived. They offered to warm them up but who wants a twice cooked steak and rewarmed sides? The appetizer we ordered didn’t come before our entrees so we cancelled it per the waitresses recommendation, then it was still on the bill. Start to finish we were at a table for an hour and thirty minutes and spent $130 on a mediocre meal and mediocre service.

Frustrating to spend money on a nice meal and have it go this way to say the least. The bartender was great. She made an excellent Paloma and was friendly and conversational.

The waitress we had was very rude and unprofessional! My family was there before my husband and I arrived and the waitress who was taking there food and drink order did not knowledge us and did not tell us that the kitchens closes at 9pm. I’ll preface this with I barely ever post reviews on restaurants. We went tonight with our kids and we’ve been here probably 5-6 times over the years while at the Ostoff on vacation and have always had a great experience. It was 1 hour, 10 minutes from the time we ordered until it was delivered (with tired hungry kids). It wasn’t our servers fault as I could tell she was overwhelmed as things were backed up (and she did a good job). The table behind us had meals scattered over different times and they said their food was cold. Not once did I see a manager come around to apologize or even to offer to comp a drink while we waited with restless kids. Once the food arrived, it was mediocre at best. I doubt we’ll return.

I've not only loved consistently dining at this restaurant with my husband and in-laws, but have also felt very supported and valued as a server here. The chefs truly do a fantastic job creating tasty and quality dishes, and the array of options on the menu makes for a unique experience every time. Lynn was a wonderful manager to work for, and a wonderful hostess to my family whenever we've dined, always treating us with kindness and respect. She truly cares about all of her customers and employees, and you can really feel that with how delicious the food is!

I don't understand how this place stays in business at all. I have to assume it's because it's one of like two or three choices in the whole area. Some of the food is ok, the wait is ALWAYS ridicuously, unbelievably long with terrible service, and the owner is aggressive and belligerent. Saw other reviews talking about her gaslighting and nastiness. All very true. All of her responses to negative (and accurate) reviews are either a fake "sorry, email us" which go straight into a black hole or else you see she can't help herself with rude, petty trolling remarks. Yikes. Would love to see this spot replaced with a decent restaurant.

Great choice for dinner for the whole family. The kids love the thin crust pizzas. Good variety of appetizers - highly recommend the seared tuna. When you get to the main entrees I really like that they usually have something fun to try- this past visit they had a fried octopus with chimichurri, it was fantastic and definitely not something I would expect to find in a small restaurant in Elkhart Lake.

We waited over an hour and when we complained about our wait time the manager gas lighted us about how we hadn’t waited that long and how we were wrong. Also it took them 30 minutes to send our order to the kitchen. Also our table was forgotten about for 30 minutes without water or refils on our drinks. My own mother had to personally go up to the bar and reorder our drinks. Overall if u want to dine at a place and wait most likely over an hour this is the place. We were looking forward to a nice girls weekend dinner. Problem #1 was it was Homecoming you can't really hold this against the restaurant however it's been my experience in the past service is not optimal which unfortunately was our experience. Our waitress was clearly frazzled and running around serving large groups. She was very apologetic for her lack of attention to us. We asked her about wine choices which she didn't know had to ask bartender. It was very loud and poor acoustics. The food was good and came out quickly. The peach cobbler dessert is oddly served in a small cocktail glass which was rather hard to eat without getting crumble all over the table. May want to consider a bowl. The pictures online were a bit misleading as it's not as quaint and quiet as I would have hoped it would have been.

We had a delicious scallop appetizer! It's flavors were explosive. Then shared a pear pizza, which was delicious. The crust was crisp and the toppings were perfectly spread out. Really enjoyed the lake Street Cafe, hate to deduct an entire star for slow service, but it was noticeably slow. Our server was super nice, we were seated immediately, and the food was good, but it took a while between visits to take orders, and then it took a very long time for the food to arrive. And not like we ordered something fancy or complicated, me and my companion both ordered sandwiches and it took what felt like 45 minutes for them to come out. We sat outside, not sure if that had something to do with it but overall a very nice experience other than just taking a while.

Unbelievably good. The complimentary bread is OUT OF THIS WORLD. They bake it themselves and is worth the price of admission. I never would have dreamed that this level of dining would be available in such a small, quaint town. (Which by the way is equally amazing) Jasmine (sp?) is an excellent server and made sure to make our time as exquisite as possible. If 6 stars was an option, Lake Street Cafe deserves it.

We came in with our 5 kids, 2 of them are newborn twins in a double stroller which is probably scary for restaurants to see all these kids come in
But the owner was the kindest sweetest woman who came over and was so sweet and happy and talkative and made us feel like family !! THE REALITY OF OUR VISIT AND EXPERIENCE:
After a weekend of being in conference, we wanted to step outside of the Conference Retreat Resort area to explore other food establishments.

Slow service was our experience at a time when the restaurant was not full at all.
Even asked for hot tea while we patiencely waited and given lukewarm water.
Waitress seemed apprehensive while receiving our orders. Was also very SLOW, somewhat arrogant and condescending when taking our orders.

Sadly, NO repeat visit here nor recommendations for others to visit.

Used to work here and we slang out banger food a decade ago. But the orch at least has gone way downhill, which is disappointing being one of the cheapest main courses (cost wise) you can put on your menu. Tasted like hamburger helper with a HANDFUL of salt and an elf sized portion compared to what we used to put out. For 28 bucks, the portion and quality was insanely low for a pasta dish. Only think that slightly saved it was that the flank was still good. Hope you get back to the quality we used to do, the customers will come for the goods no matter the cost.

Food was all very good but seemed like they skimped on the good part in every dish and for the price that didn’t seem fair. Buratta only four half slices of toast and an overflowing plate of greens. Abura only about 8 pieces of octopus(although the fried kale was good, overflowing with kale). Orecchiette Con Carne maybe 4 pieces of sausage. Every time I’ve been to Lake Street, my meal has been wonderful and the staff has been great. But I’m also patient and kind. I was on their Google page to check their hours and saw the family that recently posted a bunch of 1-star reviews. It should be obvious by now, but people leaving 1-star reviews like that definitely put themselves in a situation by being rude, impatient and hostile. I have never witnessed any hostility or attitude, even in the slightest, by the owner or staff. Even when there was a simple mixup on one of my entrees, they were quick to correct it and very nice about it.
So if you’re reading those reviews, realize they’re more a reflection of the hostility and bad attitude of that table and not the lovely people that work here. People like them are why it is hard to find staff in restaurants these days.

We had been here in the past for several years and had enjoyed the food. Please note that other recent reviews have been complaining about terrible service and extremely rude owner, Lynn! Our family waited over 1.5 hours for food. When I asked the owner why our food was delayed she was extremely sarcastic and said ‘she’d look into it’ When our food came 5-10 min later she intentionally antagonized us claiming that we didn’t wait as long as we had said and accused us of changing our order (which we did not!). She continued to be argumentative and antagonistic. This is not the kind of experience we were looking for on vacation. Unfortunately, they have lost another patron. It’s a goofy juxtaposition of classic bar visuals and top notch food. I just had the Petite Shiraz Tenderloin, and it was without question the best steak I’ve ever had!
