As other reviewers have said. It is now a Mexican restaurant. Sat at the bar, lots of flies! Got my food to go as I couldn’t eat at the bar. Food was just meh. Not bad, not good.

I've visited this buffet over a year ago when it was a Mexican buffet. It was disappointing then, but much worse now when my family and I visited last Wednesday evening.
The place was quite empty. I saw a few cars in the parking lot, but I didn't see any other patrons. Much of food was old, dry, and clearly reheated. They had burgers that were hard as bricks and the chicken fried steaks were clearly days old, sliced into strips with BBQ sauce drizzled on top. The onion rings were a soggy mess and the chicken fried rice was both crunchy and chewy. There were several dishes that were unidentifiable and unappetizing. The fried chicken was fresh, though it lacked any flavor other than the coating. Several plates with multiple samples were left nearly untouched.
When we finished the host/server asked if we had any complaints about the food. What an odd question to ask, I thought. He must know the food is bad and still allows it to be served. Or perhaps he overheard us remarking about it to each other. We politely smiled and said some of it was okay.
I wont be giving it a third try. There are great restaurants in Ashland that cost less and serve great food.

The building was a magnificent log building with a massive fireplace as well as beautiful view of the bay. The staff was very attentive and personable. The food was - OK.

This has got to be the absolute worst restaurant I've been to in years. They play heavy metal music during your entire meal. They never once checked or changed the food. To top it off it's 20 dollars. 👎

Well, I had to come back & do an update. I'm happy to report things have improved tremendously. I ate there Fri night & the fish was fabulous. Three kinds of fish, walleye, white & perch. All were very tender & perfectly fried. There was also baked, but I was too full to try it. The presentation was clean & fresh. I now can highly recommend

Too bad this place isn't presenting their food better because Ashland really needs a good buffet. A little over priced at $20 for poorly managed buffet. I came a little late 7:30, a lot of food was dried out, missing & looked like it had been sitting there over it's time limit. I never saw anyone bring anything out fresh the whole time I was there. This used to be a Mexican restaurant & was fabulous so I was really disappointed. I get the impression they don't really know how to do a proper American buffet. They have 2 sections, Mexican & American. The salad bar was passable & some of the Mexican side, wings were great, but most of it I wouldn't touch. The concept is doable, but needs some better supervision & fresh food & cleanliness & work on presentation. I can't recommend it until they get this under control. If you do go, make sure you go early. I went back at 5 another time & it was much better, but still not being kept fresh enough. I'd like to see this place improve & stick around. The waitress however was great.

Sorry to say it was hands down one of the worst experiences food wise we have ever had. We arrived shortly after opening to less than 1/4 of the food out and what was out was cold already and or dried out . Our server who was lovely apologized to us and seemed sheepish as if they knew how bad it was. We both ended up being sick from this meal and just an all around awful experience.

Went to Friday Fish fry buffet and loved it! The servers were super nice, considerate, and attentive. The food was hot, tender. Coffee was good, too.
Never went to a buffet place that had burgers before, was good!
Shrimp and veggie dish was great!
The window view is gorgeous!

SCAM!!! I'm so disappointed with this place. Yes it was a Tuesday and yes it was 7pm, however there was hardly any food there and only some of it was even edible. They do not post the price for the meal ($20/person). The French salad dressing was bad, there was no cheese in the mac and cheese, we were told we were getting Pepsi no ice and got coke with ice. Even with mentioning the wrong drink and bad salad dressing, which put my son off his entire meal, we still ended up paying $20 per person! There was almost no food to be had that was edible!. If that wasn't bad enough, the server hovered over us while paying, so we felt bad giving him the tip he deserved. I would also bet money that most of the positive reviews on here are from staff, with the owner only replying to make them look good to Google.

After reading a lot of negative reviews, my husband and I were honestly a bit nervous to try this place out, even though we've been waiting months since we heard about it, but we're so glad we still gave it a shot! Everything was actually very fresh, warm, and tasted great! We don't go into buffets with high expectations, but we both left very happy. Service was also spectacular - very kind & on top of things. I'm sure we'll be back!

This was a lack luster experience. When we entered we were met with the head waiter berating one of the waitresses, as we were waiting to be seated. It was very uncomfortable situation.

It was about 7pm and most of the very small selection of food was dry, and over done, or completely out. The desert selection was abysmal, One of the items was a prepackaged cookie.

The only saving grace of our experience was the waitress. (The one being berated by the head waiter) She was friendly, and helpful.

It would be hard for me to recommend this place in it's current state.

It's too bad because this town could use a good buffet.

We went whenever they first opened and it’s the same owners from the Mexican restaurant that was there before. We got seated but no body explained what to do or where to get plates until we asked someone because we couldn’t understand our server she was so soft spoken we couldn’t hear her over the music. It was pretty expensive for 2 people when the food isn’t that great.

It's Friday. The 10th of January 2025 stopped during passing by on the way home at 3 PM for their buffet. Fantastic host! Along with an outstanding meal, I would thoroughly recommend going and getting seconds on the stuffing, along with the fresh fish cooked several different way!
