I have been hear a few times, each time has been great! Beautiful place to golf. Never felt rushed or like we were slowing anyone down. The back 9 has Beautiful views of the river. Food was good. Had shrimp tacos and cheese curds. The greens and fairways seem to be well maintained. The only comment I have would be, I don't know why they put a driving range in the middle of the first nine there were range balls on multiple holes.

After speeding to make our 3:00 tee time we go in and pay - and are told carts will be down when ready “”. Short story is carts were not available until 3:30! The person taking my 80ish $ didn’t think to tell us before paying that they don’t have enough carts and we’d have to wait for others to finish on 18 so we could start. They never offered to comp us some range balls or a drink, nothing… just sit and wait with all the others waiting for carts…. No nothing!! Hopefully they can get more carts because that was an epic fail! I won’t be back.

After a wait of 45 minutes, our party of 4 was seated; then after 20 minutes of being ignored, we contacted the host and asked that a server be sent to our table. The server was not aware that she was assigned to our table. She never asked if we wanted drinks, but did bring water.
We were not offered refills of our water, even after asking, and one of us noticed small particles at the bottom of their glass.
The salad bar was just ok. The main entrees were disappointing. The perch was tough and undercooked, the haddock was bland. The mashed potatoes had an off taste, as did the au gratin potatoes—they tasted like they or the sauce had come out of a can, or a prepared package. We did not finish our meals, nor did we take leftovers with us. A very disappointing experience.

Randomly came upon this course on my way back to Chicago from the northern woods of Wisconsin. Everything about this place exceeded my expectations as someone who golfs pretty frequently. The course was very well maintained and there are a ton of beautiful scenic views, including 3 holes along the lake and a couple of cliffs you would tee off of. The staff were super friendly, food was delicious, and most importantly I was just shocked how well maintained the course was. On top of that it seemed to be pretty busy, but with the spacious fairways, all I could hear was the sound of the wind and birds chirping in the background. It was a o peaceful and will definitely be coming back next trip to Wisconsin.

Tee time was 150 and I was a single on a cart. By the 3rd hole there was a back up of 3 carts. By the fourth hole it was 5 carts. By the 5th hole my cart died and management was good about bringing a new cart out. I asked if there was a ranger to speed up play. I was told they do if they get time (understandable that there isn’t always staff available). I tried to just move forward and skip a few holes but as I moved forward there were more and more carts waiting at each hole. It’s hard to get in a rhythm of the game when you have to wait 15 to 20 minutes per hole to tee off. At one point I was told by a few players waiting that it was “coupon” day (apparently Wednesdays are, who knew?). I went to look at the back 9 to see if it was more open. They also had many backed up until the 15th hole. I paid 67.00 for 18 holes. Played 4 (my choice) and that was 80 minutes of play. When I went back to the club house I found the pro shop guy in the bar area talking to staff and told him I bought the cart back and was done. I explained it was very frustrating to try to golf under these circumstances. I wish when I called for a tee time they would have told me that it gets very backed up on Wednesday. I would have understood and possibly still golfed but under the circumstances now I will probably not go back. The course I will say, was in great condition.

For the prices you charge it shouldn't take 3 and a half hours to play 9 holes of golf. Tee boxes stacked 4 groups deep and no rangers to speed up play. We paid for 18 and could only finish 9, due to fading daylight. Don't book the course so tight.
Don't worry about my group leaving a 5 star review next time. We won't be back.

I hesitate to leave a review because the Friday fish fry is popular enough😁. The menu features a nice variety of items in addition to the many fish options. Salad bar is somewhat limited, but items are fresh. Food is delivered hot and dining room waitstaff is nice and efficient. My only negative comment is for the bar staff. The old-fashioneds are not good and comments regarding them are definitely not welcome.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First off, the Bartender ‘Brenda’ is simply the most rudest person I have ever met. She should have been fired awhile ago…. This place is disgusting, food was cold, and it’s so outdated. I recommend everyone to spend their money elsewhere. Many other places in Sauk City that are 10000 times nicer than this place. Rude and unfriendly staff. They need to rip this place down and rebuild. 10/10 will never come back!

Course ranger was not friendly at all, barked orders at us in the first tee box and followed us constantly on the course and consistently parked 50 feet away watching us while we were trying to play. Didn’t appreciate an employee hovering over us while trying to enjoy the course.

From the west side of Madison, I can get to LWCC quicker than I can get to Sun Prairie with far fewer traffic hassles. We played 18 during the day, during the week, and the weather was spectacular. Plenty of golfers of all ages were out enjoying the narrow fairways, large mature trees, and lightning fast greens. A beverage cart on the course would have been nice, but we loaded up before the round and finished quickly. Great place to play! Would play here again any time.

Lake Wisconsin GC is a fun course. It's pretty open but still challenging. It's an old course, lots of trees, and very scenic along Lake Wisconsin. The greens have a lot of slope. There are 4 par 3s on the back 9 so shot making is key. They have a really nice old clubhouse, restaurant, and a classic Wisconsin bar with a great view of the lake. We had fun. Go!

A lot has changed since Covid at this restaurant. We used to go to dinner there regularly and this was our first time back. No table cloths anymore, limited menu, higher prices, smaller salad bar, lettuce was gone, bread has changed and longer wait for everything. Waitress was good but lady checking us out didn’t even ask how things were.

The course was fun albeit it was a very very windy day. The biggest problem is that club members kept jumping in front of us. We were behind a slow two-some and three times we had club members cut in front of our foursome. I've never experienced something like this before and I found it irksome. Our round was 5+ hours. I would have rated the course 4/5 if this had not happened.

This was a nice 18 hole course. It was early on in the year and the weather hasnt been the best in WI yet but the course was in great shape. The white tees seemed a little short so played the blue tees. This was an interesting course with a fair amount of terrain and challenges. There was a par 3 on the front (think it was hole 7) that had some massive built walls for the tee boxes; that was awesome to see and playoff of. Would definitely play this course again.

My wife and I recently had our wedding reception here. Our dinner was sit down for 154 people, and served at the table. Knowing that there were 129 orders of prime rib being served at once, I expected it to be good but not perfect due to the large amount of people. That was not the case. The prime rib and service was a 10 out of 10--Perfect. We have received multiple compliments from our guests about the prime rib, chicken cordon blu, and the service. The bar, the set up, the meetings leading up to our event were exceptional. The event itself including the dinner were top notch. Could not have been better. Brenda and her staff were perfect. I would most definitely recommend the Lake Wisconsin Country Club reception hall/dining room/lounge for anyone's next event in the Sauk Prairie Area. -Bob and Belle Koch

This golf course is as challenging as it is beautiful. The folks here know how to take care of a golf course. It is always in fantastic shape and they make improvements to keep it updated. Played on a GolfNow special for the first time after driving down from Wisconsin Rapids. Excellent professional and friendly service in the pro-shop early on a Sunday morning. Fully stocked pro-shop. Excellent golf course and classic design. A blast to play in 3 1/2 hours. The entire atmosphere and overall feeling here makes me want to move within 5 minutes of the facility! The clubhouse facilities, restaurant and bar are also great! What a great time! Will be back often and always recommend highly!
