In Rice Lake for Ice Age Trail hiking. Asked for a Friday fish fry recommendation and Lehman's was an immediate response. It was very good!

We love Lehmans. The bartenders are fun and personable, the service is so warm and genuine!!
The food is also great. My walleye was perfectly cooked, which is a huge rarity in the Midwest where everyone overcooks fish.
We look forward to eating here anytime we are in the area.

Sad.
It's like a dying supper club... that, based on the prices and the crowd, should be doing well. What is the owner doing with all that income?
The initial service was really slow, no one greeted us when we came in, the staff appeared lost or something once we located them. Once our wait person finally showed up to our table everything went well, except trying to order a drink at the bar, they just ignored us.
The whole interior of the restaurant could use a good cleaning and freshening for sure.
For the food; Both our entrees were, sadly, Sysco frozen food reheated, thawed and fried. Somehow the sauces were badly burned, literally. Appalling, they should have been thrown out. We did enjoy getting both a soup and a salad. The ranch dressing on the salad was very good. The soups we tried were good. The bread served with the French onion soup was good, but it was 1 slice and no more. Then 2 rolls with the meal and no more.
All the prices were too high, especially considering the quality. We looked at the menu steak prices and, FYI, they were crazy expensive.
My wife and I don't go to a lot of supper clubs and there is no reason for us to ever go back to this one.
Too bad we drove an hour to get there and were really looking forward to it.

Traveling on our way to Ely, MN. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. We sat at the bar and had Lance as our bartender. The filet mignon was amazing!!

We stopped in for the 1st time in 25yrs in anticipation of a great steak. It was quiet for a Sunday evening, only 2 tables occupied. We were seated by our server who then forgot about us. After waiting 22min and seeing another table seated, then eating; we got up and left. Too bad…the food we saw being served was awesome! We ended up eating at Texas Roadhouse in Eau Claire. 🤷🏽♂️

Extremely slow service. Crackers in the basket-unecessary. The "relish" tray- in 3 words-worn, wilted and warm. Carrot(s?) Were limp and the few pieces of fruit were warm. That was it! Soup was good, but when we were done with it we got popovers which would of been nice to go with the soup. Along with our salad we got baguettes, again which would of been nice to be served with the soup. Either serve one or the other and do away with the cracker basket and "relish" tray and then not only would you save money the customer wouldn't be talked out of an appetizer, which in the end you didn't have. Our main course was good, but again just watching other tables with 4-6 people get waited on promptly and were just a table of 2 just added to a very long night

The best place in Rice Lake for a multi course dinner or a great sandwich. Nice supper club atmosphere with a nice lounge with excellent seating and monitors to watch you favorite sporting event while socializing or emotion your food in the lounge. Table by the fireplace is out favorite!

We went here for dinner on a Saturday around 4pm, and sat ar the bar. It took about 15 minutes to get acknowledged and get a drink even though they weren’t busy. After asking for a menu and receiving it our server didn’t return or look in our direction. Another server came on shift that was much more attentive. I wish the food was good, but it isn’t. The relish tray was some stale carrots and cut fruit, very strange. The steaks came out medium well, and were ordered medium rare. The padded armrest at the bar was loose. There weren’t any garbage bags in the trash cans in the men’s restroom. At one point this place may have been good, but it’s obvious nobody from the top down cares about the details or level of service in this business. This is the worst supper club I’ve ever eaten at

Been wanting to go to Lehmans supper club and we drove an hour and finally went yesterday. We sat at the bar at 4pm and did not get greeted by the bartender or acknowledged that we were there. She eventually came over to ask our drink order and we asked for menus and she seemed annoyed by that. We waited with empty drinks for a while and when she came back I politely said we were ready to order when she had time. She then proceeded to totally ignore us while she promptly served the other people at the bar. (The bar was not packed by any means. 5 parties of 2 and more open seats.) She was right by us multiple times and would not even look in our direction but again, was very attentive to the other parties, whom were in and out in a reasonable time. I’d have to say she was the rudest and worst bartender I’ve ever had. The only reason we stayed was because it has been on my list of places and we were already there so might as well at least try the food. Not something I’m used to at supper clubs. Thankfully another bartender arrived around 430 and finally took our order and provided us with good service. We were served a basket of crackers and each version was stale. Then the “relish tray” arrived. I’ve NEVER had a relish tray with pre-cut, store bought fruit and a couple of horrible tasting carrots. Not what I expected from a WI supper club, it was pathetic. I do have to say the amount of food was good but that’s about it. (Stale crackers, horrible relish tray, soup, salad, entree)I ordered a medium rare steak and it was medium well.
Let’s just say I will not be going back or recommending that place to anyone. Such a shame as I was very excited to go and am a WI supper club enthusiast and have been to so many throughout the state.

If you want a classic supper club feel head to the lounge and hang out with some awesome bartenders, or the main room for a little more formal feel but the food was on par with what you expect. Baked potato with cheese sauce, green pepper rings are super interesting and tasty and prime rib juicy delicious.

First of all, the only time I write reviews is if the experience was exceptional or exceptionally bad. Unfortunately, the latter applies to my experience at Lehman's. My wife and I rarely have an opportunity to enjoy a nice dinner out due to other obligations.
We purchased a house on Rice Lake about 3 1/2 years ago and finally decided to try Lehman's. We made a reservation for 7:45 and arrived about 10 minutes early. We were seated right away. Our waitress approached our table with a few seconds and took our drink order. She returned with our drinks and took our food order. So far, so good. Our soup arrived quickly and the red pepper and sausage soup was delicious. My wife liked the French onion soup as well. A few minutes after we finished our soups, we got our salad which was fresh and good. During our salad my wife ordered another drink. Once we were done with our salads we didn't see the waitress for several minutes. Another waitress filled our water without a word and moved on. I went to the mens room and when I returned the salad plates were gone and my wife had the drink she had asked for. We thought the waitress must be busy and gave her the benefit of the doubt.
A couple that was seated 45 min after us received their entree while we sat with empty drinks and an empty table. The only employee we saw was a young man who asked if he could take the cracker tray. After 40 mins we decided to leave. We approached the front where the young lady at the desk thanked us for coming. This was one of the employees who walked past our table several times without a word. At this point I shared my disappointment with the lack of service. She directed me to a young man who said he would check on our meal. I opted not to have him do that since I did not want to pay for an expensive steak that had likely been sitting under the heat lamps for over half an hour. We were still hungry and it was well after 9 pm at this point so we decided on Culvers. The food that we received at Lehmans was good but I can't comment on our steaks because they never arrived.
I read some of the poor reviews and they all had the same issue. Poor service. Someone at the restaurant responded by thanking them for bringing the issue to their attention. Obviously that's where it stopped because they have not corrected the issue. I can only assume they provide better service to the regulars since that is what others have stated. My wife and I will eventually call Rice Lake home but we will never step foot in Lehmans again. I have no doubt they'll be fine without our business but I know I'll be better off not giving them my time or money. I

I love this place. I love taking my family here. I love the food. But the only bad part is the service. I’m an easy going person. I don’t rock the boat. But every time I go there I’m being served by someone with a giant attitude problem. There’s always someone rolling there eyes at me or my family. Whether I am asking for another napkin, or maybe another slice of bread. I went in once with a large group of people and they couldn’t have been more disrespectful. They don’t like their job and it shows when we come in to dine at their establishment. I would highly recommend this place. The food is amazing. I just wish their staff was better.

Everything was excellent. We both had their Sat night prime rib which was delicious. You are served numerous courses and large portions. It is probably the most expensive restaurant in the area, but it was worth it. Especially nice for special occasions that you want to celebrate. Handicapped accessible too.

When I think of a supper club, Lehman's nailed it. The service was great. The food was spot on and the environment was nice to choose between the more formal dining space or the less formal with a bar. My prime rib was good but the cream of mushroom soup is perfectly balanced rich, creamy and velvety. We chose the room with the bar. I would highly recommend.

This place is GREAT! The staff was so wonderful in the bar and the dinning area, I am so sorry I don't remember their names. Please, please forgive me that I don't remember their names? Wine was good, salads were large and good quality. My ahi tuna salad and smoked salmon was GREAT. I SAID GREAT!!! I can't wait to come back to this area to visit again. They have the best house made garlic dressing and for a good price you can purchase a pint to take home! If you live here, you better be eating here weekly.

Didn't have the Chicken Livers I ordered, so I had the Spaghetti, garlic bread, and tossed salad. It was bland and the garlic bread was dry and not much garlic flavor, but very salty for $15.95. My partner had grilled shrimp. It was 3 Shrimp, undercooked small baked potato , toss salad with spoiled ranch dressing, and burnt toast for $24.50. Lemonade was okay. Was not worth it. The waitress was training a new woman. She was polite.

We went to Lehmans on a recommendation foe our 36th anniversary. The bar service was great! The dining experience was not. The prime rib was lukewarm when served. The lobster, shrimp, and scallops were over cooked and served luke warm. Our waitress never came back to our table to check how everything was. It was a bad experience from the time we sat down until we paid our bill.

I asked the bartender to change the channel to the brewer game because I’m going to the game tomorrow and was excited. I just moved to Rice Lake and like everyone used google to see where to celebrate my move. The bartender said I’ll change it for you when I have time. 30 minutes later I asked the waitress to change it she said the bartender will change it when he has time. There were staff in the bar standing around and still didn’t change it. The owner came out and said the game got done at 3 and it was a repeat, trying to justify the poor customer service. The steak was ordered as a medium rare and was medium. The waitress was a sweetheart and tried hard to accommodate me. I could see the frustration in her eyes and was not happy at the laziness of her bartender. She comped my meal because I didn’t eat it, but the rest of the experience especially with the price scale of this establishment made me less than impressed. I do not recommend this place at all.

Had dinner with my wife the week before Memorial Day 2025. We weren't impressed by the stark atmosphere and interior design, nor the severely underdressed slobs at the bar, but these are things we could live with. BUT... the food was mediocre at best (my medium calf's liver was cooked into rubber land and the salad lacked character), but worst of all was the service.
Our server eventually showed up and quickly set the tone for delays by her absence, so serious in delayed service that she disappeared after her second appearance to take our food order. When it appeared that she forgot about us, I flagged down another server who seemed a bit perturbed that I was interrupting her and politely requested attention to our table.. More waiting. Finally one of the cooks (a sous chef?) showed up at our table with our overcooked food and no explanation over the delays at every step. My wife was also disappointed with the poorly cooked food. We left as soon as we could....... of course, the wait to request the check and the subsequent wait to receive the check had us seriously consider bolting (something we'd never do but since we felt invisible we thought about it). This place is a poorly run highway restaurant; it is not a Supper Club by any Wisconsin standard. Don't bother going there, why take the risk for poorly cooked food and lousy service?!

My wife and I were in Rice Lake around dinner time on Saturday and started looking for options and found this place with really good Google reviews And decided to give them a try.
At first, we thought the prices were a little bit high, but then as the food started arriving, we realized what a great deal this place was. We ordered drinks and two entrées and proceeded to receive more food than we could eat!! Our first course was a delightful relish tray that was made up of delicious fresh fruit and a few carrot sticks. Next stop was soup, Laurie had the French onion and I had the split pea and ham and they were both great! Next came the lettuce salads and they were a nice portion and tasted very fresh. The salads also came with a basket of dinner rolls. Then to our surprise, we were served popovers that are only served on certain nights and they show up whenever a batch comes out of the oven and they were absolutely delightful!! At this point, our main entrées arrived, and we realized that we were almost full! Ha! We split our entrées of filet mignon and grilled walleye, which also came with baked potatoes.
The food was so abundant, so good and we had a wonderful dining experience. Our waiter Paul was so pleasant and attentive and fun to talk with! We look forward to returning here again soon!!

We loved the atmosphere, me and my fiance made reservations and were seated next to the fire place,we ordered cocktails that were very good and balanced, we ordered appetizers and they were delicious, the smoked salmon, cheese curds and cocktail shrimp, the soup and salad were excellent along with our relish tray, I ordered steak that came slightly burnt on the outside and very rare inside (I asked for a medium cook) our waitress was very kind and even took pictures for me but was a bit forgetful towards the end of the night, we had to ask multiple times for the same thing, we would definitely go again and maybe try some different dishes. I would very much recommend this place especially for a special occasion.

I’m from Illinois and had reservations and sat at the bar for a cocktail. The lady bartender basically refused to serve me. Obviously she knew by my accent I was from Chicago area so she treated us horribly. Luckily there was a man sitting at the bar and he asked the bartender if she was going to serve us and saying she is ridiculous. I ordered the drinks and she was absolutely nasty when I ordered. Besides being treated like trash I enjoyed the food and the waitress was really nice.
I will say don’t let this stop you from going because one person was just nasty. This person might not even work there anymore.

We were so excited to be in the area and finally be able to go to Lehmam’s. My husband , myself and another couple of great friends went to dinner on Sunday.
The relish tray was served on a small lunch plate with 4 tiny carrot sticks , 4 radishes, 4 green onions and a couple of pieces of watermelon and pineapple. It was really tiny.
The French onion soup was next it was delicious and was going to be the highlight of the meal. The salad was served warm and wilted. Three of us had steak, the New York strips were flavorful but stringy and tough. Medium rare was ordered medium was served. The same was true of the sirloin. My husband’s pork chop looked fabulous but had no flavor. It was like it had no seasoning at all. My au gratin potatoes must have been heated in the micro wave and forgotten. So hot I couldn’t eat them had them wrapped and took them home.
Maybe it was just a bad night or it was Sunday and they had checked out?
To expensive to try it again and have the same meal.

Just to let you know... My husband and I used to go Lehman's every year on our anniversary until five years ago..(updated this review because we really want to eat there this coming anniversary, BUT in the bar - better service than the bigger "supper and large group side.") WE did make reservations 5 years ago.. We had a terrible experience with the waitress: We were sitting by two other couples receiving anniversary dessert after they were done eating their meals. We had no idea that Lehman's gave out a dessert to celebrate an anniversary. That seemed like fun and so nice, so we told our waitress it was our anniversary and she thought we were lying! She refused to believe us. THAT was unexpected. That put a real damper on our experience. How rude. We told her we were serious. She just left our table and never came back...WELL, we haven't been back since. (Penny wise & dollar foolish, that waitress. She must not have liked her job.) We had been going for 17 years..My parents went to Lehman's and my grandparents, too. Up until then, we have had good experiences. But this was a tipping point...Ruined it for us. It really ruined our view towards going to Lehman's. (Why did we leave a good tip? Should have one penny to give the waitress a message.) Hope the manager reads this. People go to the big side of the restaurant and spend a lot of money on special occasions. So, the odds that more than one or two couples will decide to celebrate their anniversary or birthday at your place on the same night will be very high. (PS I have never had a response from the manager or owner. Today's date is 8/12/2024

We stopped on a Sunday with no reservations. Luckily, the host found us a table within 15 minutes. I had the Sunday chicken special and my husband had the Canadian Walleye. The Old Fashioneds and relish/fruit tray were on point. I've never seen fruit in a relish tray, but it was a welcomed surprise. We both loved our soups -- French Onion and Chicken Dumpling. Our waiter was knowledgeable and clearly hustling to get everything just right. My only concern was the temperature. It was so warm in the dining room that I couldn't finish my food. I think I just drank too much water trying to stay cool. It had to be 80 in there. Minus the heat, it was a really cool supper club experience.

Table of 4 and we sat in the lounge for lunch today. Took us over 10 minutes for our server to bring us water or even acknowledge us. Relish tray was sad looking and we weren't given any plates, rolls were rock hard and stale, the waitress spilled my drink on me and the table. She did say sorry but didn't offer anything for me to clean up. It was just overall not a good experience, especially for a place like Lehman's. We were also seated under a vent that was LEAKING liquid on us and our food. I got up to let someone know and the only person available was the bartender and told us it was from the condensation. I get that, but that is not very sanitary and offered to move our table. It was a little to late at this point and we got our dessert and left.

We visit every year and it never disappoints. The waitstaff and employees are always so sweet. This visit was extra fun, the chef came out and talked to our kids and brought them ice cream. So excited my kids will have the same memories as me.

This place was excellent! The supper club atmosphere and food - so much food !
Everything was homemade from the salad dressings to the mushroom sauce for the filet steak which was one of the best we’ve had in the area. And the French silk pie….Oh my. Amazing.
Wish it wasn’t such a long drive. But we will definitely be back.

Lights could have been dimmed more for a Friday night atmosphere. Busy place. I still get that it is difficult to get qualified people. So, service was slow but not something to crow about. Drinks. Mojito. Excellent. Piña Colada no booze was the best I ever tasted. Even in Panama or other Latin American countries. French onion soup was perfect. Rich. Hot. It was spot on. Salad was nice. Relish tray was awesome. Who the hell does that anymore. 90 years these folks have been around. My son in law had Steer Tenderloin. Pricey. But worth it. My Filet Mignon was awesome. Broiled Salmon was on the mark. Dessert was great. Ran out of Peanut Butter Cessecake but that shows it is all about freshness. Yes. Pricey. But I feel it is worth it!! Definitely going back.

$100 for a ribeye? $85 for a seafood platter? Glad I passed on those! We started with the $10 fried Calamari which was good but VERY small, I got the fried fish, which was some sort of dried out nugget that I didn't finish and the wife got the 8 oz steak that was grey on the outside, no sear at all. The drinks were good and the service was fine, but they REALLY need to step it up if they're going to charge those kind of prices.

Overpriced for what you get Ordered a fifteen dollar burger, it was very over-cooked and dry. Asked for "medium well" and instead got a well-done crispy, nearly-burnt, dry patty. Quite unimpressed really. Won't go back!

Lehman's has a classic supper club look. It has a standard dining area and a pretty sweet throwback bar area. They have steak, fish, sandwiches. A range of potatoes, soups, and salad. I went with the reuben, hashbrowns, and some really good French onion soup. I wish they had a salad bar but it seems more and more supper clubs are removing them. I ate in the bar, one of the servers was great and the other less so but it was very busy. This place is a staple in the area so I will be back.

On wisconsin top 10 supper clubs for a reason.l! Atmosphere is cool, brings me back! Food was great! Initially thought the price of food was a bit high until the courses started coming. Classically, i filled up on the starters and took most of my main course home. Love this place!!

Oh em gee. SO EFFING GOOD!!!!!!! So full, and so delightfully miserable, but omg, the food was incredible! You get the crackers, relish tray, soups (the French onion is INCREDIBLE!!!!!), salad with buns, and then your main dish. I had the Baked Haddock Almondine and a baked potato… TO DIE FOR!!!!!! My husband had the prime rib and au gratin potatoes… he said it was delicious! And our daughter had the kids spaghetti which was only $5.95 but it was a HUGE helping, with 2 big pieces of garlic bread (instead of a salad), and fresh shredded parmesan cheese and she very clearly loved it, as she ate 75% of it, and normally she eats like a bird. Hands down… your classic Wisconsin supper club! You will NOT be disappointed!!!!! Oh and my husband had the hot Apple Dumpling drink… he said it was perfection! I just wish I would have ordered an Old Fashion!!! We will absolutely be back!!! Thank you for a FANTASTIC Valentine’s dinner!!!

My husband and I visited Lehman’s Supper Club on February 7. We were seated in the main dining room and shortly afterwards, a large raucous group was also seated nearby. We come to supper clubs to enjoy the ambiance as well as the food, but it was difficult to do this because of the loud dining party. We let our server know that we were not comfortable with this environment and within a few minutes Trudy, one of the owners, came to our table to offer us a table in the next room. We were not expecting this, Trudy and Butch could not have been more accommodating. The room was nice and quiet and we were able to enjoy our fabulous meal. In fact, both owners stopped by to ensure everything was to our liking. Again, not at all expected, but so appreciated. The food and service were both excellent. We enjoyed the full supper club experience including a relish tray, fabulous soups, and amazing hand-cut steaks. We travel all over the midwest seeking out supper clubs, and Lehman’s is on our list of places to revisit.

Such huge hype. However the prices are very high. I ordered the broiled scallops which came out standing in liquid. The shrimps on the scampi were over cooked and rubbery. The walleye deep fried was very good. The deep fried shrimps were huge and excellent. Three ordered steaks which were very dry and bland. The deep fried green pepper rings were fantastic. I do not appreciate getting charged for a soda refill at all. We also received one salad plate size of fruit and a couple pieces of vegetables. (not a traditional relish tray/plate one would expect) ... awkward when there were 9 people. Also the rock hard piece of tiny bread with the salad was just that rock hard and inedible. The upcharges were many like cheesy potatoes, loaded baker, onion soup. The dinner rolls were hard and stale. Sadly, the popovers were very dark, it was a nice touch though. Getting both soup and salad is nice. Our service was fantastic, she was really nice which was a pleasant experience. The place itself is very nice. I would return knowing the service was great and for deep fried shrimps or the df walleye both very delicious.

I don't go on to post very often. I wasn't taking pictures for the internet's sake, I was taking them for my own.
I also don't buy T shirts at restaurants. I think that's corny. But my friends, this restaurant is a well preserved relic of days I have never seen. The atmosphere is incredibly genuine in the dining room and the lounge is everything a moody wannabe writer could dream of.
This restaurant isn't just a sublime place to eat with the best fried chicken I've ever tasted, but truly should be considered an American icon. Of course, everyone has their own taste, but I implore you to approach Lehman's with curiosity.

Service was amazing. Our server was fantastic! The pace of the meal was also a wonder part of the experience. We were in the dining room- looks like a banquet hall. Louder than expected. The food was bland. My husband had the seafood platter - lobster was overcooked and the cod was off. I had a NY strip - rare, no flavor, I should have accepted A1 sauce when it was offered. The baked potato was undercooked, my husband's was cool in the center. The soup was good - French onion and turkey creole we had. Bread with the French onion soup was good too.
I'd go again and get a burger and fries and eat in the lounge.

Server was awesome, the rest of the employees from the guy at the front desk and most of the bartenders obviously hate their jobs. Seemed to us after waiting some time in the bar that the regulars were treated much differently than the rest of us. Food was average, "relish tray" was a joke. One of the owners was ten feet from us but never even said hello. Disappointing considering we drove a half hour. Guess you can't believe everything you read..

Just wao on their onion soup and cheesecakes! Meats were good, but I was expecting even better after the descriptions from the menu. The waiter was really sweet, accommodating, and helpful. The restaurant decorations are dated and could use a refresh. It's still a great place for a country town.

A wonderful dining experience that has been lost in many places. This is not fast food. Service is prompt, and efficient Several individual courses, salad, soup, dinner rolls, main course, desert, all served individually by top notch wait staff in a nice comfortable atmosphere. Great food choices, prepared well, loved the Prime Rib. Good value for the price, a dining experience worthy of spending an evening with a cocktail and relaxed dining. Dont miss it. Not many of these places left.

I paid a lot of money to eat there.
That said, it was nice, not a quaint eat at grandma's nice but a firm harrumph of approval and sip of a properly prepared drink nice.
Our appetizer was the toasted brie and cranberry spread-- very enjoyable, we are ordering that next time we stop in for sure.
Portions are quite acceptable and our beverages were prepared to our liking. The service was good and our courses were spread out accordingly.
Our entrées were brought out hot and had full flavor.
I want to state that for Rice Lake this is probably the nicest restaurant we have been to and certainly the most well kept and clean establishment so far.
Only real negative was that the chairs don't have a great deal of back support so given that our meal took over an hour and a half to enjoy (no issue with the length of time as we had five courses) my back wasn't too pleased.
A solid 9/10 my partner and I were happy we got what we paid for and will return again.

Wow! It's been a long time since I've been to a upper scale restaurant. Who would have thought Lehman's would be in Rice Lake? Dining at it's finest . USDA Choice or better aged steaks. Be prepared to dig deep into your wallet. I opted for an 18 oz center cut Pork Chop. Absolutely delicious. I was a little dubious about eating at the bar but it turns out it's the norm.

Popovers? Never saw those. We went on Sunday and had the seafood platter. Once we met our waiter and placed our order, we got the ""relish" tray, which was fruit. Before that, he brought out the melting butter, which sat there for a long wait until we got our main course. By then, the butter was barely warm as the candle had burned down. We will not go back.
