Food was bad, under-poured "double" drinks, and slow/poor service.
5 people in our group, first 2 ordered the broiled fish, next person a pizza, and the last 2 fried fish. The pizza came out first and wasn't fancy, but they said it was ok. Next came one of the broiled fish about 5 minutes later. After another 5 or so minutes the 2 fried fish came out. After another 5 or so minutes the manager (as we later learned) asked the 2nd person in our group if they weren't eating since they had no food. He stated that it hadn't come out yet. She walked away appearing like she was going to check on it. She never came back to update him. Later as the 4 of us were now finishing our meals, the bartender who took our order asked how everything was, we still had 1 person who hadn't gotten his food yet. Of course when she went to check on it it magically was just finally ready, but at that point he declined the meal as the rest of us were done eating. Why did the food come out at all different times when we ordered together? Why didn't the 2 broiled fish at least come out at the same time? It was not super busy when we were there as it was probably 730 when we arrived.
I had the fried fish with garlic mashed potatoes. The fish was very over cooked, so was quite dry and chewy. The garlic mashed potatoes had a ton of butter, but zero garlic flavor. They had told us they ran out of coleslaw, but said there was some we could help ourselves with at the salad bar. I didn't bother since the rest of the food sucked and I couldn't imagine that would have saved the crappy $17 meal.
Bartender was short pouring "doubles," as she was pouring a 3-count for them, but we found we still got charged for doubles. We later ordered the same drinks at 2 other nearby places and got 2x more alcohol for about the same price we paid here. She also would ask us if we wanted another drink, then not get them for us, returning later asking what we wanted like we hadn't already ordered from her.
As a whole, this place is an absolute disaster as a restaurant and bar. I was here 3 years ago and service and food were both good. What happened?

I have been a patron of Lincolnwood for the past 10 years. Over this time, I have experienced consistently high standards with their food, service, and atmosphere. For the first time in 10 years, these standards fell short.
Recently, I visited Lincolnwood with my best friend and our significant others. Our waitress/bartender almost seemed bothered that she had to tend to us and preferred to stay behind the bar. She checked on us maybe once during our stay. My best friend and I each ordered a Long Lake Tea. The Long Lake Tea has been a staple cocktail at Lincolnwood for years. The drinks we received were weak and not up to standard. My significant other ordered the Blackberry Mule. It lacked any flavor of blackberry or vodka, and only tasted of Sprite, which is not in a traditional Moscow Mule.
We had originally ordered bone-in chicken wings with sweet chili sauce, the big pretzel, and the mac & cheese bites. The chicken wings have always been a significant highlight of our time at Lincolnwood, dare to say some of the best that we have ever tasted. We substituted for the Southwest Eggrolls after learning they were out of mac & cheese bites. The chicken wings were cold in the middle, not tossed in the sweet chili sauce as requested, and the eggrolls were overpriced for the quality of the product that we received. Another party of four next to us received the same level of attention that we did from the waitress/bartender.
The new owners of Lincolnwood have been putting in a great amount of effort to update the interior, exterior, and campsites at Lincolnwood. But if these new changes come at the expense of quality food, drinks, and service, I can safely say that I will not be returning any time in the near future.

We found this location on VRBO. We arrived at the location at 9PM Check in was very simple just had to pull up go into the bar and get the keys. When walking out the door of the bar the cabin was not 15 yards straight ahead which isn't mentioned at all in on the site. When asking where we can park, she said to find a spot in the bar lot since there wasn't any pad to park a car. however, we were also trailering a boat. She gave us direction to park behind the fish house and we can unhook the boat and park in the lot to unload.
With it being a Friday night, the lot was packed full, so we had to park down the gravel road and had to carry all our luggage, food, etc to our cabin which consisted of many trips in the dark with vehicles flying down the road leaving the bar. This was very concerning with drinking and driving and seeing plenty of people leave in their vehicles with open containers and "To Go drinks."
The cabin was very clean. The air conditioner worked well, and the cabin also had three fans that we could use as well making the temperature very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary gadgets/ utensils, it came with a microwave, gas stove, and small fridge with icebox. The living room had a futon, recliner, bar top table with 4 stools, and a nice TV that got a few local channels. We went straight to bed once we got unloaded but got woke up a couple times from loud bar patrons exiting the bar then hanging out right Infront of our cabin since they have a row of about 5 picnic tables lined up right on the other side of the deck to the entrance of the cabin.
The next morning, we were waiting to get the boat out but in the VRBO it mentioned that Lake Cabins get a slip. With not knowing what slip ours was we were waiting for the bar/ office to open at 10. When going into the Bar we asked about a slip and found out our cabin didn't include one. The bartender wanted to make it right with the false advertisement and set us up with one not far from the others she was absolutely amazing.
The lake was absolutely gorgeous wasn't that good of fishing, but a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work any day. Once we returned, we grilled out on a charcoal grill that was provided to us as part of the rental. The grill was very clean and ready for us to us. However, the center grates were rusted through, but we just used tinfoil.
After Dinner we wanted to do a campfire but there wasn't a good place to set the portable fire pit provided unless you were arm's length from the other cabins group. The other cabin was nice enough to let us use there's if wanted but we had already started one.
Throughout the day we had issue with the toilet flushing. At 9PM the toilet started overflowing as well as water started bubbling out of the sinks. I headed over to the bar and the same bartender that checked us in the previous night helped me. She was so kind and understanding. She didn't even question anything making me think it had been an issue before. Right away she offered us and upgrade to a park model even though we had two dogs, and they don't normally allow them. It was a pain to move in the middle of the night but a relief we didn't have to cancel our vacation.
On the last day we wanted to grab some food from the bar because we heard everyone raving on how good it was. When we arrived, the bar had only a couple open seats and the few tables were empty. We sat down waiting for a server and waited for about 10 minutes. when listening to the bartender she was the only one there on a Sunday at lunch time she not only was the bartender but the cook as well, so we left.
Overall, the staff at Lincolnwood was nothing but spectacular. The only advice I would give is to make sure you know the location of the cabin you choose or spend the extra money for a park model. We already said we would come back but are looking at other locations on the same lake. If it came down to it, we would stay again but would make reservations far enough in advance to get a cabin we know we would enjoy from seeing them firsthand.

The AC unit in the cabin was filled with black mold. Was told to go buy a new window AC unit and I'd be reimbursed. They also offered one night discounted.
No offer to be moved, no sanitization of the cabin from having all the mold in there, just "get a new window AC and we'll cover it."
I would not recommend this place.

Have been coming here since mid 1980's. The cabins and grounds have been continuously improved over the years. The management has always been nice and accomodating. We come here for fishing the lake and recharging from our hectic home life. New stairs to / from boat docks are a huge improvement.

Lincoln wood sums it up. Favorited by the locals, especially the summertime tent-dwelling community across the lake. Snowmobile access. Bartender is either Aaron Rodgers himself or someone closely related. Grab a minnow shot if youβre chasing the best bang for buck on the lake

My family and I dropped into this place for a quick drink and a break from the lake. When you first walk in, it's like any other hole in the wall bar. But the people and the drink specials are what makes this place so unique. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great company, cabin-feel atmosphere, and darn good prices!
