I'm from out of town and was craving Italian. This was the best red sauce I think I've ever had and I've been to Italy. I was nervous because the outside looked like a fast food restaurant, but it wasn't at all. It was so good and the inside is adorable. I had the cheese ravioli el forno with a side of Italian sausage, and I loved it! O will absolutely eat here again if I'm in the area!

At first we thought this little eatery was part of a chain but it is owned be a nice couple and the food is wonderful. They have both local and imported wine. The bread was warm and tasty. My meal was well balanced with just enough pasta, sauce and cheese. The tomato sauce was light and chunky with a little sweetness. Desert was scrumptious. We sat outside with our dogs for lunch and had a delightful meal

What a treasure! We visited Little Italy on our couple's weekend at a nearby cabin. Right away we were impressed by the heavenly scents, the Italian owner who seated us, the lovely atmosphere and the extensive menu. Our waitress, Jessica, was so much fun, with lots of great suggestions and she mixed incredible cocktails too! All six of us chose different meals and each was incredible. I'm gluten-free, so I appreciated the delicious zucchini noodle option for nearly all the menu choices. We wished we'd had time on our trip to come back for another visit!

I recently moved to the Portage area, and tonight is my husband's birthday. We ordered our food to go. This was my first visit to Little Italy. After the customers in front of me finished, I figured someone would at least acknowledge me, but it did not happen. I patiently waited for someone to at least say hi or hello, but it seemed like everyone was too busy for the while I waited, or that they just couldn't be bothered. I work in customer service and first impressions are everything. After about 5 minutes a lady asked me if I had been helped, in which I replied no. Once we were all on the same page about me being there to pick up my order, I waited briefly until it arrived. The lady who handed me my food was very pleasant. She has red hair and glasses.

After making it back home I noticed a missed call from the restaurant. They forgot the stuffed mushrooms I ordered. That wasn't a big deal to me. I just feel disappointed at how insignificant I felt while I was there. Maybe the staff had a bad day or perhaps they were just too busy. The quality of the food was decent but absolutely nothing stood out to me. I think I will just choose an alternative in the future for a dinner option.

I've written a few reviews on here and I am nothing but honest. I just feel like the restaurant would appreciate my honesty, as well as anyone who is curious to try their food. I'm not one to be negative usually.

Massively dissapointed. I decided to stop and grab a quick lunch here, since the reviews seemed to be really good. I don't know what standard of measurement this town has for "authentic Italian cuisine and prepared with love", but this is not anywhere close. I got a very simple plate: Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken, which is described as "house made alfredo sauce and fresh pasta". The pasta did not seem fresh to me, and the sauce was probably the worst part. Alfredo sauce is literally 3 ingredients: Cream, Butter, Cheese. The sauce was very thin, I doubt they put any cheese if at all, as it was also very bland. No seasoning at all, no cheesey taste. For a $12 lunch with only about a 1/4lb plate of food, this meal was by far my worst restaurant experience. I honestly don't think I would have been any worse off microwaving a frozen pasta meal from walmart.

Very disappointed, the only thing that was good was the bread! Chicken Marsala was breaded chicken and brown gravy from a can with noodles and mushrooms. No flavor and definitely not Marsala. My husband ordered the ravioli, looked more like chef boyardee like we ate as kids with more sauce and cheese. He said it had no flavor.
The waiter was horrible and couldn’t understand him. And they were Not busy at all.
Definitely will not be going back!!! And not sure how this restaurant has 4 stars because it definitely isn’t “Little Italy”

I started traveling for work and found this little hole in the wall place randomly. The food feels like getting a hug from the inside, comforting and delicious. Very relaxing environment, a great place to have a beer at the big U-shaped bar and relax after a hard day's work.

This fine restaurant was found by literal happenstance as my partner and I were hungry for dinner, and it came up on Google maps, so we made the decision to go. Getting access to the restaurant is weird, but if you're coming off the highway, you can access the parking by driving to the back of the building. We were greeted immediately by our waiter, jake, who allowed us to pick our own seating since it was right before dinner service. He was pleasant and professional all the way through...

The interior ambiance is well decorated and intimately lit. But I did observe that the table glass lights were not readily lit and not at every table to help enhance the atmosphere. It's not a deal breaker, but in the scope of fine dining...

My partner ordered what had to have been one of the absolutely best pizzas in both presentation and flavor! I myself ordered the pesto spicy chicken with rigatoni and sun dried tomato. The flavor of that dish literally GALVANIZED my taste buds and seduced my senses with perfectly tender cuts of chicken and rigatoni that was al dente! The pesto sauce is made fresh in-house by the Maestro Chef Sam, who coincidentally is one of the owners. His dedication to the creation of old-world Italian cuisine was noted in every bite!

I intentionally gave a 4-star review ONLY because there is room to always innovate and improve. But do NOT let that negatively influence you in any way. LITTLE ITALY is a MUST DESTINATION for anyone looking for an intimate and cozy dining experience that is not burdened with televisions like a sports bar type. This place is the-real-deal for couples, families, and more. You will NOT be disappointed AT ALL!

And when you go, make sure to see Lady Lula; wife of the Chef and the Hostess. Her humble and genuine concern for her patrons' dining experience comes from the heart with an authenticity that you can not mistake.

Although it is far from where we live, I can say with full conviction that it was money well spent, and we have placed LITTLE ITALY on our list of go-to of restaurants. Thank you for taking care of us. We will make the trip just to dine there because it was well earned!

The restaurant's atmosphere is very nice, and the staff were very pleasant. The bread was also fantastic.

Unfortunately a couple things detracted from the experience. The main thing for me was the men's bathroom. It smelled... wrong. Like some eldritch combination of five-day old piss mixed with a chemical cleaner that might be outlawed in the U.S. That smell proceeded to waft out into the restaurant, and everyone at my table could smell it.

Besides that, our main dishes were not great. My dad and I remarked separately of one another that our food (chicken parm, lasagna) was notably worse even than Olive Garden... which feels like the lowest bar an Italian restaurant should aim to beat.

We were at Cascade Mountain and were very hungry afterwards. We walk in and were greeted and immediately served. The food was amazing. My family and I found this place on our family vacation. It was amazing to say the least from the food to the service I can not recommend this place enough absolutely wonderful. The service was excellent our waitress was really good with recommendations always refilling our drinks quickly but never hovering around or being pushy she was the perfect waitress. We started off with the ravioli puffs (cheese stuffed ravioli deep fried with house made marinara) it was delicious perfect crunch mixed with a warm cheesey center. For our main course my boyfriend had the lasagna he loved it I had a bite and it was a layered goodness very well done. I shared the Chicken Alfredo with my toddler the sauce was so rich and creamy the flavor was exquisite from the creamy garlic to the seasoned chicken every flavor of both meals were perfectly blended with flavor. We don’t ever get dessert but we felt we had to after everything else being so phenomenal. We were not disappointed we had the lava cake a warm soft cake/brownie outer layer inside was a warm rich gooey chocolate fudge and a side of vanilla cream to wash it all down. The prices were really good $16.60 per meal $9ish for the dessert in this economy you can’t beat that price especially for the portions and deliciousness that was provided.

Excellent dining experience on Saturday. Our meals were served piping hot and delicious. I loved the cheesy goodness in my Rigatoni Al Forno. Our server was nice and timely. However too many bad experiences. Small dead fruit fly in my drink. We just let that go. Salads came one was great, one had a huge slimmy blob of spoiled lettuce. It was so big a really don't know how they didn't notice when making the salad. I politely let the server know so they could check the rest. This restaurant is amazing! Italian is exactly what it is. First true Italian I've been to in a very long time. Others claim it but don't qualify. I ordered the Parmigiana Di Polla. It was excellent! Prepared perfectly. My partner ordered D' Mare Alforno. It was also excellent! Prepared perfectly. The restaurant was clean and beautifully appointed. Large menu with great prices and daily specials. A hidden gem in Portage! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the ambiance and excellent service. The wine menu is ample as are the food offerings. You will be tempted to eat A LOT of the bread as it is warm and crusty and beautifully seasoned. However, be sure to save room for your entree. Anything served with the marinara is delicious! Little Italy more like little trashy… very mediocre food and first bad sign was when my $20 pasta came in a styrofoam box. The chicken has fake grill marks and it comes precooked. It has that distinct trashy flavor. The broccoli was frozen. The sauce was very boring.

Portage WI? Great Italian food? YES! I found this place almost by accident awhile back. It's sort-of at the end of a long row of fast food, strip mall development, and convenience stations across an arterial street from a certain midwest custard emporium. (Whew!) Find them, they are seriously worth the stop. My wife's family is of Sicilian descent, she and I have been to Italy and recognize the real deal.

What a wonderful option for portage!!! Loved the chicken parm - you can really tell the sauce is authentic, homemade sauce! Bruschetta was also delicious, could just use a little more balsamic glaze ;) (but I’m always one to want more sauce). Homemade ranch dressing was also delicious! Our waitress was so attentive and accommodating and a delight (didn’t catch her name, but she has a 5yo son). The owner also came at the end to see how the meal was. Overall, a wonderful experience (which feels so rare these days!) and we are looking forward to returning & enjoying their patio!

Pizza was absolutely terrible. Crust was undercooked with a burnt flavor yet very tasteless and powdery. Sauce was pasty. Cheese was on the sharp side. Overall pizza is not their forte.

The food we’ve had at this restaurant is consistently superb. It is a gem of a restaurant in our local community. The 10-layer lasagna is the best I’ve ever had. And my husband has had multiple seafood dishes that he has raved about Dash, including the Mediterranean sea bass he had tonight. If you have a chance to eat at this restaurant, I highly recommend it!

I cannot fully describe the high quality and wonderful ambience experienced at little Italy.

I will start with how kind and personable the owners are, as well as their phenomenal staff. I have been coming to the restaurant since it first opened and it has become almost a weekly lunch/dinner visit. Don’t even get me started on how fantastic their food is. But I will go on…

You truly can taste the difference between a quick made meal and a meal made from fresh ingredients… Little Italy well exceeds into the “love put into the food”. The price is very generous for the quality. I have spent more money at other restaurants for half the quality that Little Italy delivers. Must I go on??

Don’t forget to try one of their Italian sodas or a glass of wine from their very large wine selection.

Needless to say, the restaurant is great and is well over the quality of portage. I am thankful this mediocre town has a place to fine dine in like Little Italy.

A little more expensive than the surrounding restaurants, but you get a more fine dining experience for it. The atmosphere was wonderful, we really appreciated the cleanliness and attention to detail. We felt a little underdressed, but they didn't seem to mind that most of their guests were in tshirts and hoodies. The food seemed very authentic and not too Americanized.

Hostess and waitress were pleasant and accommodating. Booth seating was cozy and comfortable. House made salad dressings (Italian and Caesar’s) were very good. Fettuccine Alfredo was very good; lite and tasty. Beef Ravioli and sauce were excellent, although, personally, I would probably not get the baked with cheese version so that the dish was a little lighter. I look forward to dining at Little Italy again.

we came here for mother-in-law's birthday with my 7 year old and were taken care of completely. our waitress made us great cocktails, kept our water glasses full, and our table cleared. the food came out quickly and hot and was very tasty, a little unique. my steak was perfectly medium rare. it and the shrimp were smokey and good. desserts were decadent and my mother-in-law got a very tasty free dessert. they sang happy birthday to her when they brought it out, but asked the rest of us first if we thought that would be ok with her. i'd go back right now.

We went for my sweet 16 birthday dinner this evening, and were more than pleased with the service, food, etc. My father mentioned my birthday once during conversation in front of our waitress, and they surprised me with a beautiful birthday desert on the house! Just had a fantastic dinner with my wife. I had the chicken parm and she had lemon chicken. It was amazing. Very tasty, big portion. We had a Italian soda too, Super good. Came here with my aunts around 7:00pm Monday July 13th, 2022. We were seated right away, as it wasn't very busy. The bread was good. My aunt was given the wrong soup and her Sierra Mist hardly had any syrup in it, was mostly just carbonation. My food was okay, but tasted very strongly of the Vodka that was cooked into it. We had a very nice waitress!

I'm going to assume it was a bad night in the kitchen. Two items were not in the bag I picked up. Also, an entree order had a addition request, gladly taken, not executed. Charged for the two apps(missing items) and the spinach addition to the entree. Never again. Sorry. At your own risk. Get some Newman's Own.
