So many thanks for handling lunches for our student group at Devil’s Lake. You made things easy, and we couldn’t have been happier. Great, fresh meals. The students and chaperones loved the food, especially the cookies!

High quality food in a charming, small town cafe atmosphere. Everything was super fresh and delicious. (The grilled ahi tuna sandwich was the best one I've ever had). Prices are very reasonable. Portions are generous, but be sure to save room for some homemade dessert. The staff are also very warm and welcoming. This place is a gem!!

This place is so cute! I love the unexpected charm of the building when you walk in. The portions are a great size and well priced for what you get. Not to mention the quality! We got both lunch and dessert, it’s definitely on our “fancy night out for dinner” list of restaurants.

Get the chipotle chicken tacos! Or anything else as it all looked good. I was here with my sisters and Mom, everything we ordered was super tasty and fresh. My tacos were some of the best I’ve had in years. Juicy, packed with chicken, fresh coleslaw and veggies and beans with an amazing sauce. Do it!

We were staying at a local campground and wanted a meal out, so we decided to check this place out despite its eclectic menu. The food was excellent and the service prompt and kind. There is no kids' menu but they volunteered the information that they would happily accommodate any kids meal needs, which was unnecessary for us but a bonus if you are thinking of skipping because you don't see children's options. Loved the meal and will return when we visit Devil's Lake in the future.

It was my first time visiting the Little Village Cafe. I ordered the Jamaican jerk chicken burrito, my brother ordered the sirloin burrito with rice on the side, and my mom ordered the pesto mushroom pasta with grilled chicken on top. The portions were nice and big, and the prices were great! Probably the first restaurant I’ve been to with low prices in a while. I liked my chicken burrito but I tried my brothers and enjoyed the sirloin one better. My mom’s pasta was delicious, the pesto sauce was divine. Our server was very kind and he put our food in takeaway boxes for us. The diner atmosphere is very quaint, I like the old retro vibes a lot!
I love this place and we will be returning.

What a fantastic find on the corner of downtown Baraboo. This cafe is just as charming as the town it calls home. We stopped in on a recommendation and were treated to the most wonderful lunch by a kind staff.
You can literally see how happy the folks who run this place are and there's a reason this cafe has the history it has.
Definitely a must stop if you're passing through or in to visit at the nearby Devil Lakes State Park.

Wow, I don’t know if they were having an off night or if the standards for the other reviewers is that low.
Our server was at our table twice and we waited a half hour after finishing our food to still not have a bill so we could leave. We were going to get desserts to go which it’s probably a good thing we didn’t because the food wasn’t even very good. I ate it because I was starving and sat next to dessert case so they looked good but probably were just as bland as the rest of the food. We left my husband to try and get the bill and he still hasn’t made it out another 10mins after we walked out.
Update: turns out they had planned on not having the server we had on the table due to her not being able to handle it but she swooped it anyway and failed.

Located right at the corner on the town square across the courthouse there is a plaque on the wall outside about the history of the building. A super cute cafe - authentic counter stools, wooden booths that were as regal as church pews, a large bar and nice wine selection - it was the perfect place to grab lunch after a morning hike at Devils Lake state park. Nice vegetarian options in each menu category we tried the goat cheese and bread basket. It was a unique - and tasty - presentation i hadn't seen elsewhere, soft warm goat cheese surrounded by roasted red pepper relish, olive oil and roasted soft garlic cloves. The black bean burger is a good patty and well prepared. the black bean burrito is substantial and tasty, very filling. A glass of white wine was crisp and fresh. Service was terrific and had a small town cafe vibe from the hospitality being seated, to food recommendations and follow-up. I look forward to returning my next time in Baraboo.

This is a cool little place on the square in Baraboo. My family has been coming to this place for years. They have spacious booth seating or seats at the two counters. We sat outside enjoying the weather and watching the passers by. The service was incredible, the owner took great pride in her restaurant and the food was delicious! Our favorite highlights for lunch were the grilled chicken sandwich with Pesto. Definitely one of the best Pesto flavors I've eaten. Don't miss the grilled jalapeno cornbread either!
The owner was super friendly and welcoming and I was able to provide recommendations for our walking tour since we didn't want to miss any good antique stores.

The best place to eat in the entire town of Baraboo. The food is very flavorful, super fresh and the food doesn't make you feel bloated. Very well priced and affordable. I would recommend getting the tacos if it's your first time - but the wraps are just as good too! If you're not in the mood for lunch or dinner you will be pleasantly surprised by how delicious and decadent their homemade pies are. The pies remind me of what my mother would make from scratch, soooo yummy!

I've loved this place since it started on King Street in Madison about 40 years ago. It was amazing! I followed them (less often) as they made the move to Baraboo, about 50 miles north of Madison. Always exceptional.
Most recent visit has been less so.
The original owners retired and sold the beloved Little Village!
The menu is basically unchanged, but "improvements" have been made.☹️ A favorite appetizer, goat cheese with garlic, capers, and seasoning with olive oil now contains raw onions. They overpower the rest of the dish and add an unnecessary crunch. I love onions, but this ruined the flavor profile.
My favorite, a southwest chicken burrito, lacked its former spicy character and cumin forward flavor. It was just a chicken burrito.
Last on my list, price. Just too plain to be a $65 lunch. I believe I've had my last meal here, that makes me sad.

We dine out frequently and have found the Little Village Cafe to be a hidden gem with unparalleled quality and charm and this is now our go to place. From the moment you walk in you are embraced by its cozy and welcoming atmosphere making you feel right at home. The ambiance combines the warmth of a charming village eatery with a touch of flair, creating the perfect setting for a delightful experience. The real star is the food. Every thing we have tried is a masterpiece crafted with the freshest ingredients and you can tell it was prepared with a passion that shines through with every bite. They do have classic items and always seem to have something new and inventive within their daily specials. The flavors are nothing short of extraordinary as it is clear the quality here surpasses what you will find at other eateries - it feels like farm to table freshness! The service also deserves special mention. The staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, balancing efficiency with genuine warmth. They are always ready to provide recommendations or accomodate any special requests with a smile. It is truly rare to find such a combination of heart and professionalism. The value is also very good. They provide not only exquisite dishes but also fair pricing that respects the quality of their food. You leave feeling satisfied both gastronomically and financially, knowing that you have enjoyed superior food without breaking the bank. Little village cafe is the perfect spot for anyone looking for great food in a cozy and friendly setting. It is the place where deliciousness and quality meet authenticity and heart. We cannot recommend it highly enough! Whether you are a local or just passing through, a visit here is a must.

I finally had an opportunity to go into this café, and I’m glad I did. It is not a normal café. The items on the menu are different from any café I’ve gone to before. The sandwich, wraps, and burgers have different seasonings than I’m used to. The three of us choose different items to get a chance to try different things. I got the pesto chicken, it was very good. The noodles were not mushy and the sauce was very creamy. The burger was juicy and had just the right amount of BBQ. The cheese steak was very tender and flavorful. It is worth stopping and giving this place a try

The atmosphere was very dineresque. The music was classic rock. We were seated right away, and our waitress was prompt with her service. She checked in at reasonable intervals and was patient when she had to come back 5 times because we had no idea what we wanted. They have a surprisingly large range of menu items. I was 50/50 on either the veggie burger and ordered the pesto chicken burger. It was kind of cool that chips and salsa came with a meal. Our waitress ensured we never ran out of water. Great local spot in downtown Baraboo. Had a late takeout lunch and their clean menu choices caught my eye.
Even at 1:30 PM, more than half the tables were occupied with various parties, including some outdoor seating. Nice to see it. They had a great variety of sandwiches, I dig having Mahi Mahi, salmon, and cod there. Their service was solid and prompt, no complaints from me.
I ordered a vegetable buritto and an order of Mahi tacos. Both items were really tasty.
The buritto had a great mix of sautéed vegetables, broccoli, egg plant, spinach, and tomatoes. Not exactly a traditional burrito but it was delicious and healthy, I didn't feel heavy or guilty eating it. This was at the top of the South Shore Devil's Door path at Devil's Lake. Great way to refuel! The mango salsa was a nice side, I wish there was a bit more.
The Mahi tacos were also tasty, with a nice slaw of corn, beans, cabbage, and spicy aoili. Two large tacos and some tortilla chips were nice. While not authentic, it's still delicious and felt clean.
Definitely planning to come back for more.

Nice vibes, real throw back fountain/dinner. Nice menu options. I did have some expectations based on reviews, but my experience was not so great... The Moroccan wrap was missing feta, olives, and most of all, flavor. Cucumbers on one end, Spinach on the other, lots of dry chicken, aoli might have been there but not discernable...Off day? Maybe...

It's hard to put into words with just how amazing the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Burrito was at Little Village Cafe today. This may have been the best thing I've ever eaten and if it wasn't it I know it was close. I'm going to have a hard time not going to this place every day. 😂 The staff was super friendly and attentive and made the experience that much better!

Fun retro old school cafe. Have gone here many times, since stopping in for a cup of coffee after hiking.
We were so pleased, the service and attention to detail , to make us fresh coffee.
We have gone back to enjoy the wonderful food and desserts they have to offer..⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall really meh. Very low lit interior. Food took a fair amount of time for a couple mac and cheeses and burgers. Waitstaff was eating at the bar, which I don't begrudge anyone the right to eat, but also didn't see them wash their hands between eating and doing sidework or running plates to the 2 other tables in there

Retro decor with unique menu. Try the Moroccan chicken wrap, tasty. No fries, only chips. Bathroom VERY small. Always busy so it must be good 👍 ..friendly service!

Don't go at dinner time (lunch) - it was packed at 11:40 am on a Tuesday. . . . I'm don't know why. A $13+ burger that tasted like it was on the edge of being out of date + probably pre-formed/ frozen (?) Was nothing to write home about. Nothing stands out from the menu, other than being overpriced but I must admit that I have to stop back for a dessert..... Cheesecake looks amazing - good luck 🤞

Every small town has that one cafe that is so good it packs the house daily. In Baraboo, Wisconsin, it’s the Little Village Cafe.
Visiting family in the area brought us in on a random Wednesday for lunch. What a treat! The 150-year-old historic building possesses a charm that often gets lost in our modern culture.
Not only was the food fantastic, but the service was excellent. The burger was cooked perfectly with fresh beef. All the staff was very personable and attentive. There is just something about a small-town local cafe! If you’re in Baraboo, check it out.

A quaint down town cafe a little crowded with people, good food and service and home made cake and pie.
Yes, shrimp tacos, and try the jalapeno cornbread too.

It's a busy little place. Tables and 4 booths. We got the last table for 2. We don't usually eat at a counter. Pretty nice menu, wraps, burgers, Mexican, fish. We split a bowl of chili, and you have to try the jalapeno cornbread. Soooo tasty! And blackened shrimp tacos. With black beans and corn and cabbage. Yum.
We topped it off with a large piece of special cheesecake. You got to go!

The food was not as good as in the past and the service was not that great. It wasn’t really busy and the server spent more time chatting with other employees than taking care of tables.

A couple of Kiwis revelling in the experience of a small town diner in the US.
But the food was great as well. A couple of very tasty salads. Fun and friendly.

Stopped in here randomly after visiting devil's lake. Good place to eat. Cool layout inside. Food was good. Service was good. It's right on the square by the center of town.
