Came here just planning to grab a drink at the bar but ended up ordering some appetizers, the cheese curds and calamari. Both were delicious! It was actually my first time having real Wisconsin cheese curds in Wisconsin, so that was a fun first.

While we waited on the appetizers, my boyfriend and I wandered around the nearby shops, there are a bunch right by the restaurant, and they all had really cool stuff. It was a fun way to pass the time.

We ended up hanging out at the bar for about an hour or two just enjoying drinks and apps. By the time we decided we wanted dinner, it had gotten pretty busy. The bartender let us know it might be hard to get a table, and when my boyfriend’s stepdad went to check, the dining room was fully booked. So we decided to stay and have dinner at the bar, which actually ended up being a good decision. Our bartender was awesome, super friendly, easy to talk to, and really made the whole experience fun.

I got the chicken mushroom pasta (bartender’s recommendation), and it was really good. My boyfriend and his stepdad got the chicken Parmesan, and his mom got the korma pasta, but neither of us liked that one much, glad I didn’t choose it.

The drinks were great too: watermelon martinis with fresh watermelon, a key lime martini for me (so good), and a rotating cider. Overall, great food, great drinks, and a really good vibe.

Came in for a drink after walking through town. LOFT bar is up a flight of stairs- warning Not handicap accessible! There are tables ground level. We went upstairs to the bar to order drinks then sat at a table. Plenty of tables available. Good music playing (not live) and people having a good time. Dined there with my siblings and their spouses for a late lunch. Food was good but I do not eat any dairy so ordered a bean burger without cheese. Did not realize I could sub fries for a charge instead of chips. Are one chip and realized they had a coating of maybe ranch in them. No where in the menu did it say they added any dairy to their chips. I opted to not eat them. Did not have any medical issues thank god from the few I did eat. So please in the future don’t add that to your chips or put on your menu that you add ranch to their chips chips.

We came here with a large group of 20+ and they accommodated us well and served us timely. Cute atmosphere but the food was not great. I ordered fried cheese curds thinking they would be great since it’s local in wisconsin and they were so dried out and bad that I couldn’t eat them. Very disappointing. Next we ordered the mushroom ravioli and my husband had fish. He said the fish had no flavor whatsoever and my ravioli was so off putting I had about 4 bites before giving it away. We left hungry with a bill of over $100. For just 2 of us in the group! (And we didn’t even buy alcoholic drinks!) It was not a great experience. Would not return or recommend.

My husband, two friends and me stopped in here for lunch on a whim after spending some time shopping around Fish Creek. What a gem this ended up being! Our server was incredibly attentive and was nearby for whatever we needed! I loved that our table was pre-bussed before we left, allowing us to enjoy our drinks before heading out (I've noticed this practice dying, which as a retired service professional I'm super disappointed by, so kudos to Loft for this!). I ordered the seared tuna appetizer and a Cesar salad, my friend ordered the Cluck Norris chicken sandwich, her husband ordered the salmon bagel and my husband ordered the burger special. We all loved our meals! We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area!

LOFT is awesome! My wife and I went here for day 1 of our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. It was a Thursday and we made reservations just to be safe, but it was pretty open for seating, I would assume that's not the case during the weekend. My wife had a salmon salad special and the salmon was flakey and cooked perfectly! I had the seared tuna dinner. Once again, cooked perfectly rare and the sides were great. The only thing that dinged the food to 4 was the beet tower was underwhelming, no real spices or flavors besides what was on the plate. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend!

Had a pretty good gluten free burger but they decided to add some mystery fee to my bill with a ‘** Ask your server how to avoid in the future!**’ on the bottom of my check. This was absolutely terrible. The pasta was clearly pre-cooked from the day before, barely warmed through, with no sense of freshness. The “sauce” was nothing more than canned tomatoes with some seafood tossed in and reheated. No simmering, no depth of flavor — it honestly felt like something thrown together in a microwave at home.

I’m a Wisconsin native and a frequent Door County traveler and I hadn’t made it to The Loft yet. It makes me sad I’ve waited this long!

The waitstaff not only had fast and kind service but they helped give us good recommendations as well. The food was so tasty the only thing I wish was different was the cheese curd portion size. I’m big person so maybe that’s it, but they were so good I just wanted more for the price.

I loved that they allowed reservations, many places don’t accommodate reservations, especially 4th of July weekend in Door County. We sat upstairs, very good vibes, it happened to be breezy so it was great for an outdoor type patio dining. I had the beets salad and mushroom ravioli because I’m a vegetarian and the salad was really good but the mushroom ravioli was a little on the mushy and thick side. The kid’s meals were really generous. My son ordered pasta and daughter had the chicken sandwich and they both liked it a lot! The only down side was the bathroom had no AC so it felt super stuffy.

I just walked into this restaurant called LOFT in Fish Creek with my wife and daughter. My wife and daughter ordered food top in the line (most expensive menu item). I wasn’t feeling well so I decided not to order. Now the serious surprise came, waiter informed me that we have to pay a SPLIT charge since I am not ordering food. What the heck! Is it real? You guys made this place a money minting place and stopped respecting customers sit down with their family for a lunch and dinner? On top you are expecting 20-25% tips? How is that fare? I walked out to the next door and happily had lunch without even once mentioning them about SPLIT charge. They laughed at it rather when they heard about LOFT being so unfair disrespecting customers by asking SPLIT Charge for a meal with family. Not acceptable! Will never visit again and will share my bad experience with family and friends and ask them never to visit this restaurant called “LOFT” in Fish Creek!

I can’t rate the food because I left before waiting 5 minutes to be greeted by a waiter at the cold table the hostess placed me at. I had a reservation for 7pm. I saw they had heaters placed by tables. To start I wasn’t greeted with a hello. The hostess said, “One second” and ran upstairs to grab menus. She came down and acted confused when she saw I had a reservation and then told me the only table available was in this spot where heaters didn’t reach and was isolated from the other tables. I asked if there was anything upstairs (where there was plastic up to block wind) and she said “Not for 30 minutes” no emotion. So I told her I would just stay at the cold table because I didn’t make a reservation anywhere else. I saw good reviews of Loft, so I didn’t have a Plan B. After a while or waiting for a server, I just left. One thing I will add is that I am a single diner, so it just felt like she didn’t care to lose my business.

Now I’m somewhere else ordering drinks and food and giving them my money. But I was pretty upset leaving Loft, and I’m leaving this so hopefully this nonsense doesn’t happen to anyone else. Maybe invest in one more heater for the table in the front closest to the entrance.

We came to Door County for our honeymoon and this place is the only restaurant we wish we’d hit twice. We came here for lunch and the food was phenomenal! My husband & I split a burger ($15.95), We were told that it was a $5 upcharge to share. But, it would INCLUDE 2 sides (fries, cheese curds). So that is what we ordered. We were charged $29.95. When I brought this up with the server, she said that she would adjust the bill. Another employee came over to our table and said that the bill wouldn't be adjusted. I asked to talk to the manager, and was told that the manager advised the server to handle it. Needless to say, no tip was left. First AND last time. UPDATED after owner response: I stand by what I wrote. There were 3 others dining with me that heard the same thing from the waitress. The manager (owner?) wouldn't talk to me about the bill. The ONLY adjustment to the bill was the c.c. fee in which I paid cash. I tip for the service that we receive. Which says a LOT about the service. Food was mediocre.

Loft was new to us- 2 adults, 1 kid. Food was just okay. For us, a one and done when it comes to all that DC has to offer!
*NY strip- over cooked and lacked flavor. Mashed potatoes were flavorless. I missed that the side salad had feta, so I skipped that.
*Whitefish gnocchi- a good dish. The sauce was perfect. Lots of fish- he says almost too much.
*Kids mac n cheese- appreciated the server asking my son if white sauce was okay as it was a homemade cheese sauce. He liked it.

Drinks were well-blended and mine was strong! Ambiance was great.

Fantastic restaurant with excellent servers and convenient on-site parking for dine-in guests. I had the Nacho Burger with fries, and it was delicious. Our server was attentive, checking in on us multiple times. I would definitely return if I'm in the Fish Creek area.

Greasy calamari."Dusted calamari" server told us it was bread crumbs but on menu it was listed as gluten free (server said he didn't know about that). Grilled asparagus/ bacon/cheese/pine nut app had fresh asparagus but seemed like just ingredients thrown together. Not a cohesive dish. Focaccia was twice as thick as typical focaccia. Absolutely no flavor despite being topped w salt and a few olives. Manhattan was very frothy and seemed to lack sweet vermouth. Entrees consisted of mushroom. Gnocchi and calamari/shrimp marinara and pasta. Pasta cooked well, large shrimp and good amount of calamari but it was hidden underneath what looked like 3 plus cups of sauce w a pool of oil on top. Sauce had visible onions, Parsley, basil, and onions in it but for some reason had no flavor. Gnocchi dish had no flavor at all. We do have taste buds and have had delicious meals all over Door County so far this trip. Service was overly attentive to the point of the server coming every 3-5 minutes (yes, we timed after a while) to see if we wanted to place our order. On a Monday dinner reservation the place was not busy at all. We waited to place our entrees after apps were delivered thankfully because the entrees came out within 10 minutes. The look of the restaurant is beautiful w the 2 levels, water features, and open air dining but the music selection didn't seem to add to the ambiance of the place... Billy Jean and Jessie's Girl are 2 examples.
IN RESPONSE to Manager response-really, what was a young kid/server going to do about the food quality? Was the Manager going to go back into the kitchen and re cook the food? And we wait for it? Our party did not eat all of the calamari and did not eat all the "house made bread" despite dipping it in the oil/basalmic mixture. It didn't help it sorry to say.We ate all of our entrees except for the 3 cups of marinara left in the bowl because it was $29.45 for the seafood marinara dish and $31.95 for the whitefish gnocci (prices are per website). We rarely experience negative quality food when dining out and hesitated to write OUR review of Loft because we saw the place full on the top deck on Sunday night. But it is OUR review of OUR experience at Loft. We're sorry to now experience push back from the Manager after writing our review.

We ate upstairs and it was a really nice atmosphere. Our server was very attentive and did a great job. Unfortunately, our food was a bit of a disappointment. My salmon was overcooked and the hubs didn’t care for his gnocchi which had very little whitefish in it. Perhaps other menu items are more tasty.

Very disappointed by this restaurant. Food and drinks were just ok. Specialty cocktails were not good, and hard to tell if alcohol was in them or not. Kid drink looked exactly same as alcoholic one and tasted the same. Restaurant 10% full and sat right next to bathroom and looking into storefront. Would be better to sit upstairs. Would not recommend to eat here, food is overpriced.

We ended a girls’ day in Door County with dinner here, and everything was just perfect. The setting was lovely, our server was friendly and efficient, and food was delicious, there was something for everyone.
We enjoyed the Addictive Asparagus and a gorgeous beet goat cheese tower appetizer, chicken mushroom asparagus, grilled garlic shrimp, and a curried zucchini noodle dish was a great gluten free entree. A chilled crisp bottle of rosè was the finishing touch. Lovely summer memory.

The food was good, but they got our order wrong. We were a part of six. It's an outdoor restaurant, so it was quite chilly, but they were able to fit our group upstairs. The heaters helped. It is a bit pricey for an outdoor eating experience, but it is Door County.

Thank you for staying open later than 5 pm!! We had been site seeing all day and wanted to get a bite to eat later in the evening and your place was one of the only places open to get dinner. We had wonderful service!! Our server was so helpful when we asked questions about the menu. I had the shrimp dinner and it was delicious! The little fish plate (see picture) was for the tails. So cute! It was fun to see how the rice was presented on the plate in the form of a pyramid. Loved the atmosphere. We had a table on the top level and looked out onto the street below us.

It was my son’s birthday yesterday and he requested a chocolate cake. When we were walking around, I was checking menus for that very thing. And Loft’s description of theirs was what I thought would be a great option and it surely was! The only thing we ordered were several slices of chocolate cake for all our kids- and they loved it. It’s actually gluten free- which benefitted our daughter in love. but no one else even noticed it was. So that tells you something right there- since my crew normally does not like gluten free baking. Lol. So high reviews!

I love eating outside so this is always a go-to. I think the food is good, although the menu has really shrunk over the last years. Here's my problem: when you ask people to pay $4.50 for bread and butter it should be exceptional. This was not, it was like a little half-loaf from Piggly Wiggly, with some melted butter in the middle. We paid the $4.50 and also asked for butter, which we didn't get. We got a quick response as the server walked away saying "it's already buttered." The only reason for the 2-stars for atmosphere was there were 20 flies swarming all over the floor next to our table. They were small and looked like they just 'hatched,' which basically ruined my appetite. These types of things might be the reason there were so many empty tables, whereas Barringers couldn't seat us until after 8:00. Just sayin.

We were very disappointed with our service this week. Our server was constantly rushing us. He immediately wanted our drink order, and wanted us to then order all food. He promised not to rush the entree if we ordered an appetizer which we did. No sooner was the appetizer removed from the table snd the entree arrived. We were finishing the last sips of wine after paying our check and were politely asked to leave as hey had “reservations “ for the night. We were there around 75” total. It wasn’t just being asked to leave after we payed our bill, but ALL through the meal felt rushed by the server. They are obviously getting a message from management to “keep ‘em moving”. Sad.

Even though it was a Saturday night and it was crowded. Our appetizer and main course were served fairly quickly. Our waiter Brogdon was very attentive and took care of us... We were a large group.
The cheese curds are excellent, possibly the best in Fish Creek. The baked white fish was awesome too. Reservations are strongly suggested. Salmon cakes and Korean wings were delicious appetizers.

Not family friendly! Their patio was half empty with lots of space but they wouldn’t let us there with a stroller. They offered us a high chair for our 5month infant??
Their response to this review reflects the non-empathic attitude we experienced there. Staff did not explain anything about the safety hazard and were short and cold. Made us leave feeling dismissed. Would suggest taking a class in hospitality.

What I find to be most telling is the replies to reviews on their page. This is what made me hesitant to review them in the first place. They are unable to accept constructive or any other sort of criticism or feedback. My experience is not irrelevant nor did it happen a "long-long" time ago. We have been in Fish Creek every single year for the past almost 30 years before this was the LOFT and before it was Juniper's Gin Joint and this experience was very specific to when we were just there one week ago.

The atmosphere and ambiance is what made us come here. My drink was great. Everything else was meh at best - although the presentation of the food was also very good, it was disappointing when actually bitten into.
I’m hoping if we try them again, the food is better however, my husband has no interest in going back.
When the waiter asked how our food was and we said it was bland he just said “Oh. Sorry.” And then took our plates.
They have a really beautiful outdoor eating area so it’s a shame that this was our experience with the food.

Host is rude. Understandable if busy and one time caught at bad time but it happened 3 times. Talked to us like we were stupid when there were no barriers in communication on our end. We ended up not eating there just because of the host. Bayside tavern food was great cherry bombs the bomb and the hospitality was an A+!
