This place punches above its weight. The food menu has regular-looking items that are enhanced in beautiful ways. I've never had a mushroom and swiss cheese burger that is comparable to the one I had here! It was out of this world, with wild mushrooms sauteed just right. They have rice bowls like Korean beef and KungPao chicken, that are not just innovative but mouth-watering.

The prices are pretty reasonable for the kind of food on offer. It takes about the same for two people to get drinks and food at any decent place in the Twin Cities, and the food won't be half as good.

We were excited to have a dinner with family from out of town. Unfortunately we were all disappointed! The best thing was the brussel sprouts we shared. The tasters were just that, about the size of one spoonful. Three of us had the animal burger which was over cooked--no one asked us how we would like it done, the bun dry and crispy, but not in a good way. The rosemary fries were oversalted which made them impossible to fully enjoy.
The service was okay, however the server cleared a drink that wasn't finished and when we expressed that she didn't offer to bring another but merely said--sorry! The noise level was quite high which was distracting for having a conversation.

One of my favorites. If you’re in the Hudson area. You definitely cannot go wrong with Lolo. Every time I go there. I try and branch out and try something new, but I always stick to my reliable chicken tacos with brussels sprouts and my wife gets a rice bowl. I’m telling you. It’s a 10 out to 10.

And the drinks are super good. They definitely know what they’re doing here.

Updated: Went here with my family and waited an hour to get our food. The place was very loud. We used to think this restaurant was great, but today was a disappointment.

The first time we tried the smashed burger, it was soggy — but we thought that was because we ordered it to-go and ate it at home. Today, we ordered it again at the restaurant, and it was even worse. The bun was extremely soggy and soaking wet, and the meat crumbled into ground beef. I’m not sure how they’re making the patties, but they were terrible. The flavor was awful because it was drowned in sauce.

The corn mesquite was plain and lacked salt, pepper, and cotija cheese. The wings were really good — probably the only thing worth ordering. The eel appetizer was just okay. The vegetable bowl was also bland. Who’s making the rice here? You need to do better! Add flavor!

I get that the restaurant is busy, but if you can’t serve good-quality food on a busy day, then you should lower capacity. You can’t sacrifice quality for quantity — in the long run, you’ll lose customers. If I have to wait an hour for food, it better be worth it.

The waiter also needs to improve. We were given terrible drinks, and no one checked on our order.

Hands down best restaurant in Hudson and the whole St Croix Valley (yes, better than any restaurant in Stillwater too). Classy vibes, yummy and high quality food. The hanger steak bowl. OH MY GAWD. The sticky rice is perfect, The brussels sprouts are crisped to perfection, the hanger steak melts in your mouth. My fiance and I tend to be disappointed with every restaurant these days (yes, even the recent James beard award winning restaurant in MPLS was a let down. We cook better than the steak we had there) but we were finally beyond satisfied with this meal. LoLo's stands out form the crowd in Hudson. Please don't ever lower your quality! We will pay for quality especially since that it's so hard to find these days.

Fortunately, this was my second visit to Lolo Hudson, if it had been my first visit I would not return. The food was delicious, but the service was surprisingly subpar. The male server had an incredible attitude from the first time he walked up to the table. He treated our party of three as if we were a nuisance. I'm super disappointed in what used to be our absolute go to restaurant. We have been going to Lolos in Hudson for a number of years, about 1-2 times each month. We always go for the Hangar Steak bowl. Each time we go the amount of steak gets to be almost nothing. In fact, I think the last three times I've been there I pay $8-9 for extra steak. Well, this last week we went with a party of friends. My husband had like 2 small pieces of steak in his entire bowl, about 2 ounces. The rest of our party the same. We were super embarrassed to have made the recommendation at all. They were out of the pudding, and even the brownie was small, all while prices keep going up. I called to let the restaurant know and Hannah, the manager was kind and friendly. We'll give it one more go, hoping that I can remove this review altogether, but if not, no more Lolos for us. What a bummer!

We love coming here! The burgers are phenomenal, I want to order every app, but usually believe that the wings and pokè are a must, so we go with those. The Mahi tacos are perfect every time, and I try my best to recreate them at home. Cocktails are so inventive, and their coffee is amazing. This is one of my "go to" spots when I need a break and a sure thing. Servers are awesome and the kitchen is always on point.

In addition, I want to thank the staff for recovering my bag that I left on the patio the other day and keeping it safe. They're the best!

I took my daughter for lunch. I am not sure if the server thought I was someone else that he was not happy with, but we were completely ignored throughout our whole meal. Even a different person came to bring us our plates and clear our table. Not once were we asked if everything was OK or if we needed anything else. Our bill was delivered (well after we were done eating) in silence and again picked up in silence. We had an easy order, were not asking for anything crazy and it was not busy. It was such an odd experience.

Ordered the chicken tacos with lettuce leaves. The flavor was great, but it was full of fat I wasn’t able to finish eating and actually grossed me out.
How to side of truffle fries that were burnt and tasted awful had two and left to the rest.
Mentioned this to the staff, nothing was done about it not even an apology.

I thought Lolo was an approachable upscale restaurant with chef curated dishes and quantity craft cocktails. But I was very surprised to get a different experience when visiting on July 3, 2025 around 7pm. After seeing the menu of hot dogs, tacos and smash burgers I asked our server if this is their summer menu, and I was told, "no, this is our normal menu". I was very disappointed with the perceived low-end options at high-end prices and struggled to choose an entree.
We ordered a shrimp skewer appetizer.
I settled on the mahi tacos, and they were delicious. My fiancé chose the walleye which was delicious as well. I also had a glass of Chardonnay and he had an Old Fashioned cocktail.
The bill came to just under $100 with 20% tip.
Our server was fantastic and attentive!
Overall, I thought the restaurant's offerings are too few, overpriced and hyped-up basics. I didn't expect screaming and rowdy kids, it negatively impacts the vibe. I'm a parent and I would not bring my young children here.
I wonder if the Stillwater location is the same menu?

Unfortunately I had a really bad experience last night. I slipped on the flooring while walking to our table from waiting at the bar, my drink that I was carrying got all over me and even splashed into my hair. I really hurt my wrist when I fell and no one ran over to us to help - it was my friend who had to go and find assistance. When I looked up some of staff saw me and still didn’t come over. When someone did come to help she was giggling about the incident and I was brought ice. However after we ordered our waitress did not come over to see how we were doing, she never asked if our food was good and my friend never was able to ask for a second drink. She walked past us many times which made it even worse. She only came over to bring us the check and never asked if I was ok after my fall. I also wasn’t given anything to sign after getting injured with my wrist. I know the food is good, but not that good where I’m ok with being mistreated. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Great atmosphere and great food while I haven’t sat out on their patio I believe it would be pretty fun especially on a Friday or Saturday night in the summer when there’s lots of activity on the riverfront there’s street tacos are the bomb I always get those. it’s the fish street tacos. They have great drink selections and their bar is also very fun. I think it’s a great location to park eat dinner and have a few drinks and then you can walk along the riverfront or downtown and it seems like it’s much less crowded than some of the other restaurants closer to downtown food is consistently good have never had a bad meal here. Price per person includes two glasses of wine.

If you are looking for the typical warehouse, industrial, trendy dining experience and don't feel like driving DT, LoLo just might be your jam.

But don't go there expecting American comfort food classics, because 70% of the menu is borrowed from other cultures. LoLo "American" Kitchen may consider changing their name to LoLo "Chino Latino" Kitchen. (Remember that great eatery in Uptown?) Then again, commandeering elements from other cultures and then claiming it as their own, that IS America.

The menu mainly consists of over priced Tacos and Rice Bowls. Since we just came back from San Diego, I went for a LoLo double smash burger, one of the few "American" offerings. When you think of a classic smash burger, you think of patties that have crispy and charred edges. Well, the burger I got was not, just thin bland patties that tasted completely unseasoned. I had to ask for salt and my buddy also showered his burger with it.Thank goodness for those "Asian inspired" pickled cucumber slices on the side! The others at our table had a Poke Bowl and a fancy Korean inspired hotdog, which seemed to be just fine.

I am really confused about the LoLo American Kitchen experience, its a hodgepodge of kitschy offerings but with no real substance, respect or vision and a bit misleading... unfortunately, that seems to be the 'merican way!!

The food is phenomenal. I had the Amish Chicken as one of Stan’s suggestions and it was a religious experience for this foodie. That said, the service is slow as molasses. The Brussels sprouts came loaded with cilantro, which was a bummer because it tastes like soap to me and it wasn't listed in the description, so my side that was $5 extra was not edible. The menu descriptions need to be more detailed, as the animal Burger also came with onions, but does not list them. The animal Burger was good, but the bun was dry and needed more sauce. The pickles were very much NOT pickled, tasted like cucumbers just dipped in vinegar. I'd give it a 5.5/10, definitely not dying to go back.

My husband really like the diner burger and Rosemary fries. I had a burger with pork and coleslaw that was ok but the smoked meat tasted like it was made with a lot of liquid smoke. We thought we would try dessert and ordered creme brulee. It was terrible. I actually asked the waitress if it was supposed to look like that. It was served on a plate (not in a small custard container) and it looked like a thin layer of melted ice cream with isomelt sugar on top. It had apple pieces and nuts in it that tasted terrible. It was extremely runny and very disappointing especially for the price. The portion was the size of a flat fried egg. I will try the food again but will not be ordering any dessert. We were visiting with friends, paid and we continued talking. Once we paid the waitress didn't return to see if we needed anything or bring anymore water. That was disappointing especially since they were not busy. For the first time visit it was a bit disappointing.

This restaurant/bar is a great place to get together and grab a bite to eat, a drink with some friends or a party. The food is wonderfully prepared, and the taste is amazing. This is the first time, out of many times that I’ve ordered from lolo, that the staff was rude on the phone and the food was not cooked right. I ordered the rosemary fries which were great, but the Korean bbq wings were completely black on the outside and had practically no sauce on them. I also ordered extra aioli which I got except it was all through the bag and had spilled out everywhere. When I ordered they wouldn’t take payment over the phone and in fact the first time I tried called I was sent straight to a voicemail. I should’ve learned from calling the first time that it just wasn’t the right day to order. Just wanting to add, the restaurant was not busy when I arrived. And I wasn’t greeted either. It was just assumed when I walked in that I was the person with a to go order. Anyway, I give a few stars for the fries, but I can’t say I’ll be driving out to Hudson again from Saint Paul for this type of crummy service. I hope that other customers do not have this same experience.

I came here today for the first time ever. The menu looked appetizing. I ordered the everyday burger which came out with fries and their house mayo. I had the house mayo and I thought it tasted funny. Like they had added pickles perhaps. I was wrong. 30 mins after consuming my meal I ended up with food poisoning. I recommend staying away from the house mayo for anyone looking to have an enjoyable meal

Went there on a Sunday evening for date night with my wife. Place was busy but not packed, service was good, food came out in a timely manner and it was excellent. Would highly recommend to someone looking for a place to go with a classy let low key atmosphere.

The food here was delicious! A really good place to eat for a Sunday brunch or even a date outing! The service was quick and great with the waiter checking in every once in a while. The atmosphere was also great given how fairly small the place was with a fairly see though kitchen which made it feel more welcoming seeing where the food was made at. The bar was also bustling with life with many people sitting and enjoying drinks. Overall would visit again once in a while, given the distance from where we live at.

This is a favorite of ours, ate here again tonight after picking our son up at the airport (home is Eau Claire). I love burgers, but there is a wonderful variety on the menu for everyone. And the sun was setting over the river to top it off!

There were Five persons in the kitchen area and yet only one person cooking . Not very busy lunch approx. Six tables yet seemed extended timeframe for the meal to arrive.... Enjoyed our meal when we got it.

Two of us had dinner on a Friday night. The only downfall was that it was really, really loud inside. So loud that we could barely hear the server or each other across the small table. My husband had the Misoyaki Cod which he enjoyed even tho it was just a tad over cooked. It looked beautiful. I had the Mahi Mahi Tacos and rosemary fries which were both good. Even though the tacos have guacamole, they don’t have a Mexican flavor profile. Mild but flavorful. The menu is varied and I would come back again and try to find a quieter time.
