The food was amazing. The brisket was tender and flavorful, ribs were amazing. I liked the presentation of the meals, on a metal tray/plate, with very good mac n cheese, cole slaw, and amazing corn bread. The bar was nice. My 4-star rating would be because once you enter the dining room, thats a bit odd. It was a bit unkept and was not a nice dining atmosphere at all. But, the waitress was amazing and the food was also amazing.

I've traveled all over the states & had a winter home in Florida which I was able to eat plenty of seafood. I have to say tge Ahi Tuna here tgat is prepared by the owner is extraordinary delicious done with sweet peppers a different taste but leaves you wanting to come back again.
The cocktails they serve with a smile & stiff. Bartenders went out of their way to please us 3. I've not experienced such service in years. A dessert bar that is all homemade that leaves your mouth watering.
The meal was huge & I could not eat it all. Such a variety plus a nice salad bar that had peas, mushrooms, eggs, & so much more.
I can only say if you leave hungry , not enjoying the delicious food ... its your fault. This place is a 💎 GEM & I know we will all go back soon.

Heard good feedback from friends and they were not wrong! Amazing food and excellent service. I normally don't order tuna unless we are near the coast but tried it here, the ahi tuna was delicious! Hubby chose the ribs and brisket- he was glad he did. Both served with all the normal smokehouse fixings- corn bread, Mac n cheese, baked beans. The desserts available looked great too but we were so full that there was no room. Many people took dessert to go. Service was tops too. Chef even came out to check in with diners. We will definitely be back!

Visited and had dinner 8/8. We enjoyed the salad bar and food was tasty. The pulled pork dinner was great, unique Sammy from anywhere else. Bluegill dinner must've been good, I heard no complaints. We agreed and are NOT fans of the HOT baked beans.
Service hit and miss. When we walked in, a couple of employees walked by and said nothing, barkeep not overly friendly. Servers quite pleasant, but scattered...my boyfriend wasn't sure who our 'server' was. Unique in that cooks came out to present entrees. And cook did ask how things were when going by to serve others.
I would go back. It was nice and was able to watch the Brewers game while we dined.

My husband and I went for supper on a Sunday night while vacationing in the area. Bartender was very friendly, we were seated within minutes. The food was FANTASTIC and the wait staff was short handed but still very attentive! Highly recommend!! We will be back.

Oustanding broasted chicken platter. Pizza was ok. Was a little under done. Crust had good flavor but way too much sauce. 1st night service wasn't good. Was very busy and waitress seemed overwhelmed. The table next to us walked out after not being waited on. 2nd night service was excellent. Each night Andrew made a point to talk to us and wanted to make sure everything was good. Would definitely go back for chicken.

So glad this place is back open!!! Father in law brought us here to enjoy prime rib for my fiancés birthday! FAST service, our waitress was AMAZING. Very quick with drink refills and making sure our dinner went without a hitch!!

The kitchen cooked our prime rib to perfection!! It quiye literally melted in my mouth!! Such big portions we had to take home to enjoy tomorrow. We WILL be back!

I was looking at the specials menu, and the owner/chef came up to me asking if I had a question. I replied yes, what is this cut? He said come with me, I'll show you. He took me into the kitchen, and his sous chef was preparing the steak I was questioning. My boyfriend ordered it and it was delicious. I have never seen such a clean kitchen or gracious owner. Came in on a Friday night not that busy. We were seated right away and we're able to order. I did not order on of the many specials but chose a Prime ruin Sammy hubby has fish fry and we order cheese logs. We get the cheese logs quickly and I was like wow super fast service. Boy was I wrong. Kept waiting and waiting for our food. The chief was bringing plates out to people and said to me."should be done soon the prime rib was frozen. Now I could understand the wait if I was informed of this but was never told there would be a wait. A group of three people sat behind us and yes they all did order the specials but they had their food in like 15 minutes. As we were getting ready to leave I hear the chief tell the waitstaff that they are down to two briskets. Soni know the chief and waitstaff communicate. Never was offered even a free dessert.

We stopped at Longshots tonight for the first time and everything about this place is worth the ride. Laurie our server was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. My boyfriend had the prime rib. He has had prime rib at multiple places up north and he said this is hands down the best prime rib he's ever had. I had the shrimp special, it was large delicious shrimp cooked to perfection. The owner Andrew made a point to stop by our table to make sure everything was to our liking. That is very rare occurrence in the northwoods. We can't wait to go again and enjoy another great meal.

Mother's day buffet today was definitely worth the drive!
Brosted chicken/ smoked beef brisket / smoked BBQ ribs. Homemade stuffing with cranberries plus many other sides not to mention multiple tables of deserts all made in house!

This is our go to place for dinner and drinks when we stay next door for deer hunting season. The new owners are fantastic. Everyone is super personable and friendly. Food was outstanding especially the Pulled Pork Mac N Cheese Pizza. Mac N Cheese is homemade and all meat is smoked on site. The broasted chicken was so juicy and the ribs had a great smokey flavor. The baked beans are some of the best I have ever had. Not a bad thing on the menu. Plus, daily drink specials at the bar. We love this place and can't wait to be back next deer season, if not sooner.

I've had the Haddock before. It was cooked perfect. Yesterday was Veterans day and I had the Prime Rib. Like heaven on a plate. You don't need no steak sauce here. And the fries. Perfect. They even salted them just the way I like them. It was Veterans day and they took care of the Vets that showed up. Most places would have a special menu just to tempt your appetite. Nope. We got the normal Saturday menu. That was the nicest thing ever done for me on Veterans day. Outstanding. There is more on this menu that I'm sure I will be trying. Looking forward to it.

This is a restraunt in the middle of nowhere& the only great food place for miles. I did not stay at the motel so cannot comment. It's 24miles north of Antigo on hwy 55 & T
Worth the trip for the food as there's very few open bars & restraunt s anymore. This one has the best broast chicken I've ever had. Fresh & super hot. The prime rib was amazing & ribs were a huge rack. Tons of homemade food to go with the main course. The cowboy beans also best I've ever had, u gotta have them & find out why, I won't spoil it for you. Open till 9 with a full staff & even have a good salad bar, like u could eat more!

I will now stop by every time I go thru! & the cook comes out to make sure everything was to your liking. Where has that ever happened in the last couple years?
& homemade style cheese curds. Not battered cisco truck ones. The good ones!

We had a great meal at Longshots. Worth the drive from Post Lake! The ribs were on point, the fish had a perfect beer batter and there was so much food we had 3 meals out of it!
Service was a little slow, but we also ordered drinks apps and meals all separately, so I know that didn't help. Waitress was great and the owner came out to check on is several times.

Had the all you can eat wings on Thursday night. We ordered 6 of the maple honey mustard, 6 Bourbon bbq, 6 garlic parm and 6 jamaican jerk. Can't decide which one we liked best, as they were all equally AMAZING! The wings are huge first off, but then they're broasted and dunked in this crazy good sauce, making them crunchy and juicy!! Clean, but the bed was uncomfortable and the heater turning itself on and off all night woke me up at least eight times. Not impressed with the sign on the door of the bar that said If you ask anyone to be considerate and obey the law by wearing a mask they will make you leave.
Response to the Trailside's reply on 2/8/21: Maybe your beds were new and expensive, I just didn't find it comfortable. Perhaps just the difference from what I'm used to.
Obviously the issue and my complaint was with how LOUD the heater was. Of course they turn on an off, but I've never had one wake me up every time it does so.
How can I have been dishonest about what the sign on the door said when I posted a photo OF the sign with my post? And I did have to enter, that's where I picked up and dropped off keys and paid the hotel bill by interacting with the bartender who wasn't wearing a mask. And at the time, WI was indeed under a mask mandate. If my review had been out of hate, it would have been one Star instead of two.

We had a great stay at Trailside. It was super clean, comfortable, and very close to Camp Makajawan (just a minute or two down the road). The restaurant was also very good and the owners were super nice and reopenef the kitchen so my kids, mom, and I could eat a late dinner. The food was very good, too. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone who has a camper at Makajawan.

If you like peace and quiet, this is a great place to spend the night. Although close to the road, there is so little traffic at night, you might as well be deep in the woods. Rooms have been recently updated and a very well kept. Only drawback are the wall unit heating/cooling units which do not have a thermostat and are fairly noisy.
