We traveled to Wisconsin for our daughter's wedding. They live in Jefferson. The day after the wedding we looked for a place to eat and The Looking Glass caught our attention. There were 7 of us and we first got a regular booth and two ladies sitting in the large booth was gracious enough to trade.
Our Server/bartender was Matt, later we found out he was the owner. This man not only makes mean drinks, he was fun, funny, all while maintaining a professional demeanor. The food was absolutely AMAZING, even though Matt threw mine away thinking I was done when I asked for the check 😂 no worries because he had an entirely new one made for me to go!!
Not only did we LOVE the restaurant, it also confirmed us wanting to move to Janesville!! See you in about 2-3 years, gotta do the logistical stuff, and don't worry I will always have the pink hair!!
Thank you Matt and Mrs Matt for making this our new soon to be home and favorite hang out!!

They have a gluten-free option, which is always a plus. Menu has lots of tasty options such as sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and quesadillas. My one complaint was that the waitress did not write down our order. I have a couple of food allergies, so I asked for some changes. I knew food was going to come out wrong, and sure enough, it did. They were great about getting a fresh one out and didn't charge me. A pet peeve of mine is when they don't write down your order. Food was tasty. Looks like a fun place.

The menu is the most difficult to find, the prices are very different on all menus. I tried calling to place an order and was told there’s a special Sunday menu on facebook. I found this cute adorable place on a Google search: the food was fantastic, my waitress Emma was very pleasant, but being charged 50 cents for a small cup of ranch dressing taints the entire experience! Had I been told this ahead of time I would have settled for the ketchup that was on the table! It is completely irritating what restaurants do this! So buyer beware if you want something other than ketchup! 😔😔

Food was good, but look at your bill closely. Special was grilled cheese, and it said "includes your choice of side." I picked the fries. You would think "includes" means it's included with the price of the meal, but no. The side is an additional charge, no matter what side you get, soup or fries. The server was friendly and at first said the charge would be removed, but later said it could not. There is another place like this in town that pulls the same stunt. Includes your choice, pffft, you could just say includes all the beer you want, but you still have to pay for it all. Just say includes everything on the menu. Watch your bill. Was there last weekend of September 2024 and still peeved about it.

Went on a Sunday at 11 for brunch. Definitely think it’s a place for adults. We have a young child, no high chair available. Very loud inside. Upon entering there is a plant pot filled with cigarette butts overflowing onto and spread all over the sidewalk. Only had a drink outside facing a brick wall in the hot sun. Horrible server, kept walking past us, couldn't get his attention to order our food. When we finally got his attention, he said "Ohh, I always forget about this table" We decided to leave and not order food because he was so arrogant and aloof. We sat at the bar. I had a blackened shrimp wrap. It wasn't on menu but they had blackened shrimp and wraps. The bartender said yeah they'll make that for you. They did and it was yummy. My friend had a burger and it looked amazing. Waffle fries were good. I asked a lady next to me about the ramen special because that's what she ordered. She loved it but it was a spicy one so thought better of ordering that. She said they have aramen special on first Thursday of every month and it's always authentic and always good. We'll be back for that. The ramen was 15.99 but sounded well worth it. Menu prices were not outrageous. The two of us has dinner and each had a cocktail for about $40 without tip. We always overtip when service is good so don't want to include that. Service was good and friendly. Patrons were happy and seemed to be kid friendly for bar atmosphere. We will be back, probably on the first Thursday of the month.

Stopped here while in Janesville. I have to say I am glad I did. Ordered the Italian beef sandwich with waffles fries. Everything was fantastic. The Italian beef was juicy and very flavorful before dipping it in the au jus. The fries were hot, crunchy and delicious.

Prices were very fair!

It's a little odd to walk in and sit down then wait for the bartender to come get your order...but it works for them.

Overall, I would highly recommend this place!

Chose the booth in the front by the door. It was dirty, but they cleaned it when asked. Ordered the beer cheese dip that comes with pretzel bites and chips. The chips were too greasy to eat, but the pretzels were ok. The dip was good. Also ordered the cuban. It was pressed, but wish they used traditional Pan Cubano bread as opposed to the French Roll it came on. It was tasty though. Service was good and attentive. Only other problem was the amount of flies... one in particular would not leave me or my food alone lol. Parking was not the best, but we went during the concerts at the courthouse, so I'd imagine it would be easier on a different day. I'd like to try one of their burgers... so I'll be back.
