Prices are midrange here. Pretty big servings for the cost. I was not impressed with my meal, nor was my group. Flavors off, a spicy plate that was not advertised as spicy. Our guacamole was too spicy to eat. My chicken was a bit chewy. Servers are usually nice and come check on you but I just don't like the food. Tried several dishes and I will not be back. This may be your perfect fit if you like spicy foods. Pretty quick service usually too. Too bad its not for me. Older building but seems pretty clean. Bathroom works. Street parking is easy too.

Amazing food! Steaming hot on the plate and always smells delicious. The deserts are great as well. Huge menu and good portions with burritos, tacos, and more. The resturant itself is very authetic and has great music playing. You always get chips and two dips when you arrive as well. Great experience!

Food is average at best. I don't recommend anything because it's not very good. Bland. I had 2 hard shell tacos and they were full of grease and no seasoning. 2 of us had dinner. It was $63. Bland food and expensive.

We eat a lot of Mexican dishes. The place was fun looking on the inside and staff was GREAT. However, the food was smothered in sauce and everything was way to salty. It was hard to taste the authentic flavor of the dishes. Would love to try it again. Just can't do that much sauce and sodium.

Went for dinner for our first time. I had two chicken hard shell tacos and rice. It was absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to go back. Forgot to take a pic got too excited and ate it all!! I am also gluten free and they do a few options just ask your waitress/waiter they will help you find something.

The food as always been good, however we ordered takeout tonight. Jose’s is normally expensive, so when I called and the total was $58 I wasn’t surprised. However, when we went to pick it up they added on a $24 tip!!! FOR TAKEOUT. We paid 82 dollars for two meals. That is absolutely ridiculous.

As a Colorado girl used to amazing Mexican food, Wisconsin Mexican food has been a challenge. Los Morales has TRUE, delicious Mexican food with actual flavor, unlike many of the restaurants I've been to here. I only wish I had taken pics! The cheese enchiladas, steak fajita taco salad, beans, rice, & salsa are fantastic! I will only be getting my Mexican food from Los Morales in the future. Why mess with perfection? Had been here before and found that the atmosphere was typical for a Mexican restaurant. The food was good. I had gotten a chimichanga the first time. I didn't care for the cheese sauce they used. So this time when I got a taco salad, I asked for shredded cheese instead of the cheese sauce. It was better. My brother ordered the fajita jalisco, which he had ordered before, and liked it. My sister ordered the chimichanga and ordered it with shredded cheese instead of the cheese sauce and she thought it was very good. I would recommend the restaurant. We all had margaritas and they were excellent.

I heard they had great food, but maybe when it was still "Jose's" restaurant. Now it's "los morales" and since I've been there, I've talked to a couple of people that said the same thing. I went there w/ my father-in-law and husband, so we all had different dishes and everything we had a sauce on it, and it was kinda hard to tell which dish was what because of all the sauce. I always love the food!! However every time I go there the price seems to change For the same item I order. One time I added lettuce cheese and tomato and they said that was the reason so the next time I went in I had just onion and salantro and it was even more and the excuse given to me was maybe they didn't charge you for to go containers last time. I noticed they're trying hard to make the place presentable however the wood bark along the registercounter and the bar is filled with food bits and dust and God knows what else so do yourself a favor and don't sit at the bar or lean on the counter by the register.

Not a cheap place to eat Mexican food, but we found the food to be delicious. Prior to the meal, we received a basket full of chips and salsa dip which was replenished when we got low.

Our party of three had a Fajitas Taco salad, a chicken quesadilla, and a California burrito. When the food arrived, we found that the chicken quesadilla contained no chicken! Our server apologized, went to the manager who came over and also apologized before coming back within a minute with a full place full of shredded chicken which we added to the quesadilla. All meals were tasty and filling.

We will go back to Los Morales because of the food and great customer service.

I really was sticker shocked when I saw the prices of their margaritas 🍹 but they came in small, med, lg and pitcher and they had both alcohol and non alcohol sizes. I settled on a med and mom settled on a small. When they came out I thought they made a mistake with mine and gave me a lg and mom a med but nope. Man are looks deceiving. I had all I could do to finish mine and mom couldn't finish hers at all. Great food and great margaritas 🍹 and worth the price. I highly recommend and will be back again

Pretty good Mexican food for Central Wisconsin. Quick and courteous service. Remodeling inside as of Memorial day, making more room for diners. Fairly regular customer.
This is a follow-up as of November 2022: We were no longer able to order off of a lunch menu for lunch. Plus, the prices were much higher than just a couple of months ago. We are senior citizens, and will no longer be able to afford eating here as we have in the past. We will truly miss it.

Wow! We just love this place!

My MIL has been ordering from here for a while. While SHE loves the food (she orders the same thing EVERY SINGLE TIME and has never tasted good Mexican food), she hasn't been complaining to the restaurant about her orders. We decided to order from Joses at her suggestion while we were visiting her in Wisc. Here's our take-aways from our order...

PROS:
1. the person taking our phone order was pleasant and very helpful since we didn't have a menu in front of us.
2. order was ready quickly & hot when we picked it up.
3. while we ordered dinners for 3 people, it was somewhat reasonable as restaurant prices are going up everywhere ($60+).

CONS:
1. order wasn't double bagged and leaked everywhere since one of the dishes was wet & smashed in its container and was tipped in the bag upon receipt. We had a 30+ min drive home and the bag had a hole in it, so the wet dish leaked all over our backseat.
2. while my MIL isn't Hispanic, I am, and know the difference between bad, meh and great Mexican food.
a. ordered a chile relleno and it wasn't fully cooked, too much cheese sauce, not enough red sauce that it's usually cooked in, and was not tasty at all.
b. ordered enchilada verde... rice & beans were good, enchilada was just ok. No flavor in the chicken whatsoever and verde sauce had no flavor as well. Not even a little spicy.
c. ordered beef chimichanga (sp?). While small in size, it didn't have too much taste. Beans & rice were good.
d. ordered a cheese enchilada (MIL's order) and it was very light in cheese. Beans & rice were good.
e. ordered guacamole. Size was really small for 3 people, but it tasted like old avocados and something was a bit off in it's taste.
f. guacamole came with tortilla chips which were very old and not crunchy at all. We ended up throwing them all away since they weren't good at all.
g. we asked for hot salsa to go with the order. The order-taker said the salsa was big enough for more than 10 people, so we didn't need more than 1, but it wasn't. It was only big enough for 1 person. If you want salsa for each person that has a a dinner or chips, be sure to order 1 for each person.

All-in-all, I probably wouldn't order from here again. Too much money for food that isn't even in the "meh" category. Will try the Chinese restaurant down the street next time.
