We have been there twice in one week's time now. Very good spot to stop off before hitting cabin country. The manager is really nice there and very accommodating for our dog on the patio. If you're in Cumberland, you need to stop off and enjoy this gem of a place!

Unfortunately, my experience here wasn’t great. I ordered a burger, but it was overly greasy and came plain with just cheese, no toppings or flavor to balance it out. The fries were also underwhelming, tasting bland and lacking any seasoning. Overall, the meal felt disappointing. I’d recommend trying somewhere else for a more satisfying bite.

The kitchen was very, very slow and the wait staff had to apologize to every table around us. They had to comp meals and even offered free desert. I appreciated everything the wait staff did to try to make it right. Unfortunately, it took almost an hour to get a salad and a sandwich. Mind you there were only 6 other tables with patrons, so it wasn’t busy. People just got up and walked away. An awful dining experience and a waste of time to be frank. I will not be going back and wouldn’t recommend.

So I've been in this place now on 3 separate occasions and each time, somehow, was even better than the last. First time in there, I ordered the fish fry and it was AMAZING, and not only was the food delicious (the cheesy potatoes are to DIE for), but the manager, Sarah, was out talking to customers, making sure everyone was happy, feeling welcome, and enjoying their food, and I'm a social person so we chatted a bit and I gotta say, I've never felt more comfortable my first time in a restaurant and it was because of the staff (and a few regulars that'll remain nameless just cause I'm not sure they want to be publicized lol), so my second time in, I order the Italian beef dip sandwich, and requested the cheesy potatoes for my potato side and the waitress (different one from my first visit) informs me that those are only available after 4, now bummed out but completely understanding of this as I choose fries instead, Sarah heard me ordering my food and comes out and let's the waitress know it's ok to let me order the cheesy potatoes since it was close enough, now I'm telling u, the customer service here is second to NONE. Third visit in and I decided to bring some family and a few friends in to enjoy this great food and inviting atmosphere, and Sarah indeed came out to welcome everyone, even during prime dinner hours, cuz that's just the amazing service you find here, this was steak night (Thursday), and they had sold me on this dinner already my previous 2 visits so I didn't even need a menu lol but let me tell u, I like my steak well done and this was still so amazingly tender you could cut it with a fork, everyone that I brought with me that night agreed, best food, best service and just great atmosphere for a place most ppl just drive right on by, next time you're in Cumberland and hungry though, just stop in, you can thank me later 😉😉😉

The Saturday night special the Grilled Smoked Pork Chop is Excellent both with Butter or with The Mushroom Gravy. The Twice Baked Potatoes are very good. Also the Crab Bisque is Excellent. The Creamy Broccoli and Ham Soup is also Excellent. The Steak Mushroom Cream Soup is also Excellent. The Chicken Wild Rice Soup is also Excellent. We stop here whenever we drive through Cumberland. We stopped last Friday Night and I had the Friday Night Fish Fry. And unusual things for Friday Fish Fry choice of Fried or Baked. Had the Fried it was excellent. Next time I'll try the Baked. The best Fish I've had in a Restaurant in a long time. We've eaten here many times we haven't had everything on the menu but what we've had has been excellent. My favorite Burger is The Big Louie.

So disappointing. We were really looking forward to giving this place a try and hoping we would love it! There’s a lack of good dining places around here. To begin, it took over a half an hour to get our food. We both had omelettes, two different kinds, and neither were good. They put this jalapeño cream cheese (way too much of it) in their omelettes. It is somewhat sour and is in no way complimentary to the eggs. I had a veggie omelette with verrrrry few veggies but lots of that cheese. The breads are good however and the hashbrowns, while greasy, were good. The coffee is absolutely terrible.

Very good small business! Went here and met this amazing waitress who was very helpful, attentive, and friendly. We went on a Thursday evening when they're doing steaks. 14oz. Strips that were perfectly cooked to order. Baked potato, garlic bread, and a salad. We both ate every bite of those steaks and my wife rarely will eat an entire 14oz. steak (it was that delicious).

But what really hit home with me was the service. Our waitress was top notch. Her coworker was just as professional. I'm used to fine dining in large cities and the service that one expects from that type of restaurant. These two were just as good as any server in any Minneapolis restaurant! They were not what one comes to expect from small town dining. They were friendly, efficient, and accurate.

The other staff also exuded friendliness and professionalism. Oh, and the smiles!!! When the staff of an establishment smiles all the time, a diner can count on good food and great service.

Small place with 8-9 tables nit spaced far a part so you can be a part of your neighbors' conversations or be forced to listen to them chew. We had some rude guys at a table next to us who were loud and obnoxious frat guy type, so the atmosphere was not enjoyable. The server did her best to provide good service. The menu is small, and pizza or burgers is really the majority of the menu. The Reuben Panini wasn't bad but lacked on the saurkraut and sauce, so it felt plain. I settled for a dinner salad. Croutons were out on before they were refridgerated, so they were gummy and stale. The blue cheese dressing was the best part of the salad. Though I'd still like to stop a Louise's Meats Deli, I feel the restaurant needs an upgrade the menu. Maybe even some cold meat subs or sandwiches to give it a burst of flavor.

When I got the hamburger I thought it tasted like "old" meat. I tried 1 more bite..no way was I eating it. The french fries tasted like the grease needed to be changed. They were crispy, like I would like them to be, but tasted extra greasy... What a disappointment. My husband didn't like the taste of his burger or fries either and he generally can eat anything and does but he didn't this time. The waitress came back and asked if we wanted a box for our food as it was obvious we only had two small bites out of the hamburgers and almost all the french fries were still in the baskets. I did drink all my water. That was nice and cold and my husband drank his Pepsi. We just won't stop there again. We go thru Cumberland almost every weekend and the place always looks busy so I'm assuming we just hit a bad day. Disappointing to say the least. I grew up on a farm with beef cattle so maybe I'm a hamburger snob! I know what fresh hamburgers should taste like 👍

We stopped in early afternoon. Had never been there before. Quite noisy. Food was decent but the presentation was erratic. Wife got a fancy chicken sandwich served in a basket on a regular bun which disintegrated and needed to be eaten with utensils which was difficult with a paper liner in a basket. Should be served on a plate and with a brioche bun. I got a plate, but third person also got a basket. Need to use plates. We have eaten breakfast here twice. We enjoyed our food. However, the service is unusually slow for breakfast. In addition, the only time we saw waitstaff both times was when they were dropping the food off. They forgot out drinks and we asked two different staff for more water and neither brought any. It's a bummer. We like the food but service is poor.

It's also a bit warm in the indoor seating - like the AC doesn't work quite like it should. And it's not really on the lake.. just next to it with little to no Lakeview.

Being from out of state and spending summers in WI, one of our favorite things to do is Friday Fish Fry. Going to Louie's was the worst place we have EVER been for fish fry. The only item that was decent was the baked potato. The baked fish had a very strange taste, the fried fish was 90% batter, 10% fish. The coleslaw was warm and not fresh. If you want a burger or panini you might want to risk going to Louie's, but for Friday Fish Fry there are too many other places in the area that are way, WAY better.

Our prior visits were probably a 4 star but last night was at best, a two! Five of us were seated indoors (it was threatening rain) at 5:30 and found it very stuffy. The ceiling fan over head was not working. They were "out of gravey" for their pot roast sandwich, could not hold an ingredient from another sandwich order and after waiting for approximately 45 minutes, we received our mediocre meals.
Do Not order the smoked pork chop! Cold slaw was not good, beans were Luke warm and the pork chop was tasteless. Nothing like I would have expected from Louie's. Very disappointing!!

Our server said, "these fries may be the best in Cumberland." My sister and I were skeptical, having lived in the city for years. But sure enough, the fries that accompanied my chili burger were crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and delish.

Plus I was apprehensive ordering a chili burger. I think it was a special they don't normally have, and I was somewhat expecting a tasty experience that was diminished by too much chili that turned the burger into mush. It was actually the right amount of chili that added an amazing depth of flavor to the yummy burger (it didn't turn into mush). I hope to have another if they offer it again.

We also tried the chicken spaetzle soup (another winner). The only thing that bummed me out is that I realized when I was leaving that I could have had a beer with my meal. I'll get one next time.

Tried this place for the first time… the pizza came out cold it was just a pepperoni pizza for the kids. I tried to Friday fish which I’m still wondering where the fish was?? Full of batter and not very good at all, I left a full plate of batter on the plate at the end of the meal, the best part of the whole meal was the french fries. We will definitely look for another place in the future.

Waited one and a half hours for soup sandwich and salad. Should have left. Everything was bland. Don't get the crab bisque. It's made of milk and fake crab. Very nice staff.
