Service is passable, food is average to good. Their specials are the best options flavor wise. The biggest issue I take is the price of the food. A side of Corn beef hash was $12, adding strawberries to french toast was an extra $4.50. Our bill for two adults and a child was $70. This used to be a place for a solid breakfast with low to moderate prices. You might as well go to Belfre next door for a fancy breakfast for roughly the same price.

Really don’t think we’ll be lumbering back to this place. Came for a late lunch, were seated, given waters, and pretty much nothing else. Sat and waited and waited.
Mind you place seemed quiet. Server finished with a couple seated near us. So at the same time it’s not like they didn’t know we were there. No menus to look over while we waited just water and empty stomachs.

I would say this restaurant is "FINE." Nothing special. Food is good. But it was on the higher end of pricing for breakfast. Asked for extra sauce for Eggs Benedict and was charged an extra $4.50 for a little bowl. We ordered a short stack of pancakes and one of the options was to add on strawberries. We got a very small amount and were charged $4.50. If it had been a decent size, I may not have felt the $4.50 charge was ridiculous. I won't be going again. Too many other good places with better ambiance.

I must’ve missed the secret menu, because based on the reviews, I was expecting breakfast magic. Instead, I got something that tasted like it was cooked by someone who just discovered salt last week. For the price? I almost asked if toast was extra.
The food was about a half step above George Webb—if George forgot the seasoning and took a nap mid-shift. A classic greasy spoon vibe, minus the charm, flavor, or any reason to come back.
Thankfully, Brunch opened nearby, so next time I’m in the area, I won’t be trapped in this breakfast purgatory. Want real breakfast with fresh fruit and actual taste? Go to Mad Rooster Cafe.

I have been frequenting the Lumber Inn for years now. I first went there over 20 years ago on a motorcycle trip and now frequent there at least 2x per month since moving to the Lake Country area.
The food is good, consistent, and always hot. The service is always pleasant and timely. I’m celiac and have never gotten sick here and that is quite important to me.

Phenomenal Service & Food! Our waitress Katherine was an absolute delight. She helped us with some great menu item choices and provided some of the most genuine service. The Brisket Hash was spectacular and my wife fell in love with the liver and onions. We are from Maryland and she said she’d take the 12 hour drive just to have that meal again. If you’re in the area for whatever reason , I highly recommend this place for a meal! Don’t let the busy crowd fool you, they are just as efficient as a slow day!

I absolutely love this place but the prices have gotten insane. We have been going here for over 15 years. My dad is now retired and says he can’t afford it anymore. A special for French toast with a few fancy extras on it for over $16 bucks for a little spot is crazy. Bread isn’t that much. It seems like many comments agree please bring down you prices

The Lumber Inn is a great place to grab breakfast in downtown Delafield!
They have a little bit of a Mexican flair to your standard breakfast place. The Chorizo Skillet is a great way to start the day.
The pancakes are quite good! Personally I would recommend adding blueberries.
If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to snag outdoor seating in a sunny weekend morning.
Yes, I like hot sauce on my eggs.
Also…dog friendly on the front patio!

After reading reviews, had some high expectations for this place. Decided to try the crab cake benedict. Crab cake came out smushed and soggy. If I had to guess it was frozen and microwaved before placing ontop of the Benedict. For $20 it was not worth it. Got one of their special potato dishes. And $9 for half a potato amount just seems a bit ridiculous. Wifes omelet was good. Reading more recent reviews, seems its a common theme that food quality has gone down. And price has gone up.

The service was passable, not bad but not outstanding. My kiddo asked me if she could have a waffle with blueberries and strawberries. I said yes, thinking this would be (at max) $11. The ingredients were roughly $3 at most.
Nope - 21 American Dollars. Serves me right for not looking at prices, which is why I didn't make this a 1 or 2 star review. That's my fault, but
Also, if you want bananas on pancakes, that's going to be $4 extra for 2/3 of a banana baked into the pancake.

Love this place, but had bad experience Sunday morning. After eating breakfast, I got horrible stomach cramps and diarrhea. I got either food poisoning or salmonella. I had 2 eggs with sausage and a plate of fruit. Doctor thinks it was improper handling or cleaning of the fruit. Was a slice of watermelon, honey dew and a piece of cantaloupe. Was on toilet and in bed the rest of the day.

Been to this restaurant several times but been disappointed the last few. Especially today. Got a BLT and my tomato was green and unripe. Asked the server to have the manager come over, but he never came. When we went to pay, we asked again for the manager who did come and talk to us, but provide no solution to the problem. 1/2 of my sandwich was not edible. Have heard good things in the past about this place.
There were 3 of us. Got there about 10:30 on a Friday. It wasn't lunch time yet so they weren't too busy. Got seated right away, and our server got us settled in with water, then our beverages. Server was friendly and attentive.
It has a pretty extensive menu. Plenty of breakfast items, burgers, wraps salads and dinner choices. We ordered some breakfast, along with a salad and sandwich. It was done in a reasonable time and everyone seemed to be happy with the food.
One of the items was missing fries, and by the time the server came back, it was a little too late. The server didn't seem to be bothered by this mistake, didn't apologize, and never offered to take it off the bill. Not a huge $ amount, but it's the idea of expected customer service.
For most of the meal, there was a table with a couple of younger kids. I like kids, but during most of the meal, they were watching videos on their phones, with the sound up. Pretty distracting (was I the only one bothered?)
So our experience was mixed. The menu is large, and lots of variety. The atmosphere was noisy/distracting, and the customer service was spotty.
There are plenty of other similar restaurant choices.

We arrived around 11 am and waited approx 25 minutes for a table. We dined outside since the weather was so nice.
Our wait may have not been as long, but those already seated outside seemed unaware of those standing around waiting for a table. We even heard a server comment that her tables were lingering.
The food came out quick. I ate the avocado toast and the men at the brisket scramble, which was one of the specials. Men said lots of meat, but the veggies were slightly undercooked.
