The restaurant was ok, our server never greeted us instead just asked what we wanted. We ordered crab encrusted halibut and it was super dry. ($45) We told our server it was dry and he said "you want to order something else, the kitchen isn't busy". I asked for the same thing done correctly. He was foreign, clearly not fluent in English--I don't know why he would be hired for serving. We got our halibut and it was less dry but frankly, I could have done better at home.

The martinis were pretty good though. But $100+ for the meal, I expected much better service and food.

Go during happy hour and get the crab nachos! The calamari was also very good but the crab nachos was a great portion and a unique dish

Absolutely impressed with the quality and flavor of the food! The steak was cooked to perfection: tender, juicy, and full of flavor, and the lobster was phenomenal. I also highly recommend trying the calamari with jalapeños; it’s such a unique and delicious twist. This place is a must-visit for anyone who truly appreciates high-quality food.

Very nice place to take family and friends. Good drink options at the bar as well as small plates. Menu at 5 - 5:30pm has early 3 course set menu.
1st course can include Ceasar salad. 2nd course can be a
NY Strip and Key Lime pie or Cherry pie for dessert. Those are just a few options. There are many options as well as their regular menu. Staff are efficientl and friendly. Highly recommend.

We’ve been to Lure Restaurant a few times. This time, the food wasn’t as good as in the past. Both the crab cakes and salmon were a little overcooked and dry, and we also didn’t enjoy the bread.

The service and atmosphere are still nice, but overall this visit was not as satisfying as our previous ones. Hoping next time will be more like the great experiences we’ve had before.

We love this place and come here every summer. Great steak and seafood! I love the Caesar salad and the lobster bisque! It’s a beautiful place with good service. It can get pretty loud indoors though. I would recommend eating outside if possible because the garden is beautiful. I love the key lime pie. I highly recommend a reservation because it’s very busy. We have sat comfortably with 8 people so it works for large groups and well as small.

The food is decent here, however, I can't say it's worth the price. There's definitely the to be expected tourism upcharge, but I wish the seafood and value was just a bit better to justify the prices.

I highly recommend reservations. We made reservations for 4:45 (they open at 4:30) and when we arrived the parking lot was nearly full and there was already a line at the host stand.

My favorite part of my teriyaki salmon meal was the kimchi fried rice. That was definitely worth the additional charge. The caesar salad was also pretty good. The parmesan crusted whitefish could've been better and the mashed potatoes were very bland. I highly recommend getting the cornbread as an appetizer.

The atmosphere is nice with indoor seating having a very modern and upscale atmosphere, and outdoor seating having a nice garden vibe.

Overall, this is a decent restaurant in Sister Bay with a nice atmosphere. It's one of the few restaurants in the area that has a parking lot and reservations available, making it convenient for visitors.

This place was awesome! We loved everything we ordered and the service is excellent. The tab is pricey but very worth the quality of the food and drinks. We had two of the whitefish dishes and a sushi roll. Our kids loved the kids filet option with mashed potatoes. We would definitely recommend and go back if we’re in the area again.

I only chose this place because I was craving seafood and this was my family’s first time visiting the area. The first issue was the tiny parking lot. It took at least 10-15 minutes to find a spot. Very little parking for a tourist spot. I made a reservation and our table was ready right away. We dined outside. The patio area was enclosed with trees and had a very relaxing ambience. I was appreciative of this because the downtown area had some event going on so it was chaotic around the restaurant. We had 2 adults and 2 children in my party. We ordered the crispy bread and potstickers. The potstickers were definitely not fresh. They looked like they came from the freezer section at Costco, and the sauce was just soy sauce. Noodles and co. has better potstickers. The crispy bread was warm and baked just right, very delicious. My daughter and I ordered the lobster tails. The lobster was overcooked and chewy. The butter had no flavor, it was simply melted butter. The red skin mashed potatoes were cold and had no flavor, even after pouring the melted butter on it. The second side was the arugula with a dressing on it. For a high end seafood place, that is the laziest side I have ever seen. Most seafood restaurants offer and roasted veggie like asparagus. I didn’t even attempt to eat the arugula. My significant other and I had the lure old fashioned which tasted like rubbing alcohol. I should’ve known better because the only places that can do an old fashioned correctly, are Wisconsin supper clubs. My SO ordered the beef tips for dinner, which did not look like it should’ve been charged what it was. It looked like beef, plain gravy and the unseasoned mashed potatoes again. My other daughter ordered buttered noodles from the kids menu, which is just that nothing special. For $240, I expected melt in your mouth food and was so underwhelmed it was disappointing. This is a restaurant in such a beautiful area and they have mediocre food at best. The positives were the service. The waiter was very attentive and the food came out quickly. I don’t understand all the high reviews stating the food is good. Maybe I ordered the wrong dishes, but if I’m ever in the area again I won’t be coming back.

Seems like it wants to be taken for a high end restaurant, but large TVs showing sports that can be seen throughout the restaurant and untrained staff detract. Server was pleasant, but seemed lost. Food options bland, sides all the same for every entree, not selected based on what compliments the dish.

The food was not good. Steak was mostly fat, and had a strange taste to it. Whitefish was dry with a thick cracker breading. Mashed potatoes were literally blended potatoes with no seasoning or butter. Would not recommend.

7/23/2025.
4 to 5 star experience we stopped for happy hour. We tried the five dollar old-fashioned which was OK. The drinks on the regular menu for $15 were very good. We had some of the happy hour food specials. I’m not sure that it was really a special price because everything was half portion, but it was OK. Everything was plated really nicely. We had the crab nachos which the crab was good with mango salsa and the queso really sold it. I think they would’ve been better on regular nachos instead of the wonton nachos because they were pretty greasy. It was a good helping for $10. We also had the sushi which was four little bites for eight dollars which the kids liked. It looked like there was bar seating right off the bar which the bartender had our 12-year-old sit on the lap of my husband to sit at the bar but should’ve suggested sitting at a possible bar table- it looked like they were also getting happy hour deals at the tables so that’s one reason I gave four stars because we stayed crammed at the bar instead of the table option which would’ve been a lot nicer experience. The tables were open initially when we got there so that would’ve worked out, but then of course they filled up. Also our bartender wasn’t very attentive, but he was pleasant enough. They also had a woman running out food and she was very nice. The atmosphere was very clean and nice and they had other early bird menu pricing which looked pretty good. In the end, they had a budget that was friendly for a wide variety of people that seating at the bar or on the patio or inside and booth, which I like. And the food was nice.

Upon making reservations 2 weeks in advance on Lure's website we arrive to the resurant to find that the host with long black straight hair can't be bothered to deal with guests. Informed her we had reservations. She asked what the name was and then proceeds to tell us we have no reservations. We go to load the conformation up and she tells us we need to move out of the way for other guests. Upon loading we show her and she tells us it's the wrong place, refuses to speak to us and brushes us back out the door. We definitely will not be back and will highly advise against this place to everyone who likes friendly customer service and web reservations that actually work.

I've been coming here for 3 years and will never go back after the previous experience. Hostess assured my wife and I we could be seated in a quiet comfortable area inside and then rolled her eyes at me when she tried to seat us on metal chairs outside. Staff tried to serve me someone else's food 5 minutes after I got seated and gave me attitude when I said it wasn't mine. Waited 30 minutes for one drink order to be told by the server that my drink was delivered to me according to her handheld and the bartender but couldn't show me what my drink even was. When the food finally came my wife's order, a seared whitefish was very visibly microwaved and smelled like it. No sear, just a rubbery frozen fish that smelled that one coworker everyone hate's lunch. My dish, a pasta was served to me with a spoon. Couldn't help but feel like I was being pranked. Will never come back.

We had a party for 16 in their private room right by the entrance. Everything was perfect! They let us in early to decorate and took excellent care of us the entire evening. Drinks and food came out perfectly - and all were delicious! Highly recommend this nice little room for a special event in Door County!

This place is a nightmare in every way. First of all the manager is extremely rude and rolled her eyes when my mentioned I can’t sit in their cheap steel chairs with my back injury outside for which they apparently can’t afford chair pads.
They sat us on church pews and laughed about it.
The waitress forgot my husbands beer for 30 mins and came back with well “ guess hey just gave it to the wrong table so you still want it?”
The brought my walleye and it looked like fake food .. a slimes long skinny slice that would not break apart with a fork.. I pryed a piece off and almost committed when it touched my taste buds. This fish tasted like it washed up dead on a river bank and sat here for 2 days before they cooked it to rubber. I’ve nerve in my life had fish that tasted so foul…. And they texture .. my god..
they brought my husbands pasta out with a spoon and we just threw up our hands and left.

We thought Lure would be pricey, but the early dining special for $29.99 was just what we needed. Not too much food, all of which was tremendous. In particular, the whitefish almondine, crab cakes, and Caesar salad were outstanding. Servers were very attentive, but not intrusive. The noise level was lower than many restaurants. Had an amazing experience at Lure last night with our family. We dined outside on the patio area so we could have our pup.

To start I had the espresso martini, it was perfect! For my dinner I had the three course dinner: Cesar salad, grilled salmon, and cherry pie for dessert; this whole meal was delicious (I had a taste of my friends calamari and would switch my salad for that next time, it was so good.) She had the white fish which she loved! The kids menu was perfect, my son had the salmon and daughter enjoyed her chicken strips and French fries.

Our server was great and many other servers filled our waters as needed, amazing service. So welcoming!

We would definitely dine here again and highly recommend. Kid and pup friendly!

We had a nice time at the Lure. My wife enjoyed her Walleye Picindine. I had the Wisconsin fish fry special. I was disappointed because it says it’s lightly breaded and fried. I would say there was very little if any breading and it did not seem fried. It looked and tasted like a baked fish dish. It still had the skin on it? Not sure if that’s the norm in door county for breaded and fried fish but it’s not something I’ve ever seen before. The drinks were good, $5 Old Fashioned was a great deal.

Lure was absolutely on point for a nice outdoor dining experience. We were there in August of 2020 and despite the Plandemic we enjoyed ourselves. My husband and I always make sure we book reservations for Lure whenever we are in Door County. Everything about this restaurant is top notch, from the service, the food, and the ambiance.

Today, we had a first! We made early reservations and took advantage of their early dining special. This special allows you to get a 3-course meal for $29.95! You get soup or salad, an entree, and a dessert.

I would watch the prices because some of the "entrees" (i.e., 6 oz. Filet) is on the $29.95 3-course menu, but they add $8 which is actually more than the actual menu price. However, the early dining specials allow you to get the soup/salad and dessert too, which would be an additional charge on the regular menu. The deal can't be beat!!! We were able to eat at Lure for $87 and that included two alcoholic beverages for my husband and myself.

Highly, highly, highly recommend!

It was a great experience- I think my only complaint is that several employees walked directly in front of us while we were being seated (like cut us off so we had to stop in our tracks) and nobody apologized or even acknowledged that they cut us off - we laughed about it, but dang!

Server was very efficient, food was delicious, drinks were great, and the vibes were fantastic. We did have to park a few blocks away so prepare for that if you have reservations! Overall, I’d definitely recommend Lure and we will be back.

We had the spicy tuna roll for an appetizer that was good. My husband had the Parmesan crusted white fish. It was ok but nothing that we would go back for. I had the lobster risotto. The outside seating was quiet and peaceful despite the location. The specialty libations were well done. The food was amazing! Crab nachos so good we forgot to take a picture. Lobster risotto was creamy and robust with flavors. Lastly the Whitefish Almondine was a delicate fish that was flakey with the almond crunch and a citrus finish.

We had a 5:00 reservation this past Sunday. We sat at the bar for happy hour at 4:30. The happy hour old fashioneds were, unfortunately, not very good. They were not muddled and all of the bitters were at the bottom. We were sat down at our table and it took quite awhile for a waiter to come over. Our orders were taken and our first course came out promptly. Our dinners took a bit longer and one was incorrect. The person said it was OK that they would be happy with it as long as it wasn't ment for someone else. The waiter took it away and said the kitchen would make him a new steak. He waited 30 minutes for his meal. We were all done eating by the time he got his meal. The experience was ruined and no apologies were made until after we paid our bill and inquired about the delay. The manager said the server didn't give her the whole story. I believe the manager should have personally checked on the situation. We have gone to their sister restaurant Chop many times and they are always exquisite that's why we were excited to try Lure unfortunately we won't be back.

Yes, the place was busy but no mass of people waiting outside or at the bar for a table. She was obviously into her Power - snotty little TaNook. The restaurant is very beautifully decorated and definitely looks very upscale. The food wasn’t memorable; not bad, just not wonderfully good, either. We had fast service but almost a little too fast. We were seated, served and out the door in about 30 minutes. Seemed like we were missing a dining experience and just being fed. The food was decent. I think everything would have benefited from a bit more flavor/seasoning. For me the food quality wasn’t worth the price point but still good. The service however was not great. We got a bit of attitude from our server when asking for recommendations. We also did not receive great service that I would expect from a restaurant with this price point. Busy spot in summer. Book ahead. Very good quality food, NY strip was cooked to perfection and whitefish dish very good. Service efficient. Decent cocktails. Expensive. Also, no bread offered, you just got the plate you ordered and literally nothing else, which felt a bit mean given the prices. Tipping policy seemed excessive, they add 4% automatically or 25% for a group of 5 or more, then when you get the bill they want to add another 15%+ which, in total, seemed like a lot even for the USA.

Ambiance, decor, and service have always been very good, but on the most recent visit our experience wasn't at that high standard. It started with us having to return dishware because it wasn't properly cleaned and it had food remnants stuck on it. We then found a hair inside the spring rolls appetizer and the server chalked it up to a busy weekend. To be fair, he did comp the appetizer but at that point the experience was ruined and we were quite disgusted. We decided to stay and finish our dinner since the food was already ordered and being prepared. Sadly, this underwhelmed as well with bizarrely overcooked lobster risotto. Overall, quite disappointing, but our prior experiences were great, so we'll likely give them another opportunity in the future to do better.

Our entire family went for dinner for the first time. The kids menu is great - one had the grilled salmon, and the other had the grilled shrimp. I love that they have options beyond chicken tenders!! (Which my kids can't eat) My oldest said the parmesan crusted whitefish was one of the best meals ever. I ordered the sushi. It was good, but it had SO much rice, and that overpowered the flavor. I could barely finish the roll. We also tried the lobster risotto as a side, and we all felt that dish was so-so. I would go back again, but I would order something else.

They really need to set up the service! It's not just about the food. We came on a Sunday night and granted it was busy but not jammed and the service was terrible. They never came back to our table for almost 15 min after we were seated. The food was Ok but not for what the restaurant is rated for.

They never even offered us desert.

Service was excellent. Crab cakes were better than most. My wife's parmesan crusted whitefish was ok. My chicken katsu was different, but nothing to brag on. The atmosphere inside was loud.

Then came the bill. Adding a "general services fee" to the bill with no explanation is very poor practice and frankly dishonest. If you need to raise your prices, then raise your prices and let your customers know about it when they open the menu. Leaving your wait staff to have a very awkward conversation at the end of the meal is very poor management. It's things like these that make us not want to go back.

We had a party of 4 for dinner. All of us enjoyed an excellent meal, and great service. I have a beef though, and it’s about outrageously poor marketing. I was charged $6.95 for bread. The bread was great, but if you need to be compensated for serving it, charge more for your entree. I was charged an unannounced, and unexplainable service charge of $4.39 cents. My one drink, a very simple gin gimlet cost $17.00. So, we had a very good dinner with friends, and then getting the bill kind of put a bad taste in my mouth. They nicked me for a few extra bucks, but may never see me again. We dine out very often.

Spicy tuna roll was not spicy-just the spicy mayo on top of it was. Caesar salad was fresh, alot of shaved cheese on it and dressing tasted good. Lobster bisque was thick, rich tasting due to the cream. Needed more lobster flavor though.Grilled salmon and whitefish almondine were good but just needed a boost of either more flavor, salt, or seasoning. Husband's potatoes were good, my mashed reds were gummy and didn't have any flavor. Cole slaw was crisp, colorful but needed celery seeds or something else to flavor it. Service was quick despite being packed on a Friday evening. Water server shouldn't stick thumb in water when pouring waters. Chipped barware shouldn't be used either. We notified server of chipped Manhattan glass and he put the empty back in the bin instead of setting aside. Key lime & cherry pies were delicious.

As usual, a wonderful evening at Lure. Started with the great happy hour--$5 old fashioneds!! Then on to the early bird 3 course dinner. Excellent! Loved the lobster bisque. Our meals were tasty and service was top notch. Lost 1 star because of the extra service added to our bill. TACKY! Door County is becoming a bit too pricey. Consumers beware.

Can’t say much about the food or experience because we didn’t get to eat here. Went on a Sunday night. Had no reservation due to our original dinner plan falling through due to building structural issues. Gave a 1 star for service since when we got there the hostess ask my husband if he had a reservation and when he said no and asked how long the wait was she gave him a rude look. We would have been fine with waiting understandable being a Sunday night in the summer, but the look she gave him was a total turnoff.

We went here after enjoying Chop nearby. From the moment we sat down we could feel that the waiter absolutely didn’t want to be there and it felt like we were an inconvenience (though the restaurant was no where near full perhaps he had a lot of tables). We saw they had grasshopper drinks for dessert and got excited.

However our mains and the feel of the place sent us elsewhere for our dessert. The fish (halibut) was absolutely demolished and overcooked. I thought the skin was still on it because I could not cut through it without a knife and the Asian slaw was vaguely sweet with little other flavor. The best part was the mostly plain rice.

The food and the service was the exact opposite from what we had at CHOP the night before and it was disappointing to spend $40 for what felt like a microwaved frozen fish fillet. Pick a different restaurant this one isn’t it.

Whilst we received very nice service, the food was delicious, but the side orders re: vegetable servings were absent. Furthermore, the 3.99% service fee, I found out later through other vendors in the area, it's against the law. Yes, it's masked in such a way that may sound legally reasonable, but I'm sure my CC company would like to know about this outrageousness. You'd be better off just raising the prices on your meals. But that 3.99% is pure restaurant profit, and self serving.

We went here since Chop, their sister location was closed. We ordered from the Chop menu selection.
First off, I do want to say that the wait staff is fantastic. Our server was incredibly kind, endearing, and continually checked in on us with a smile beaming from ear to ear.
For the food portion of our evening, we ordered the bread basket, which ended up being one of our best selections of the entire night. It was crispy on the outside and very soft and warm on the inside. We ordered the 16 oz ribeye and opted for the Chop salad to go with it. The salad was very good. Nothing life changing, but still was a very good salad. Now, when it came to the steak... I'll be honest... it was a total letdown. I had looked forward to this steak our entire trip and was sadly disappointed. It was improperly cooked. The fat on the steak was hard and chewy. We actually ended up having to discard at least 1/3 of the entire steak because it was completely inedible. It got to be so much grizzle that we didn't even finish it. I was so hopeful but this steak truly missed the mark. At $55 my expectations are much higher.

The food was pretty good, but for the price you pay, the portions could be a bit larger. For example, maybe 3 crab cakes instead of 2, since they were pretty small. The upcharge percent of service that they tack on is also a little ridiculous.

We also got a slice of the flourless cake and for $10, it was basically a mini slice that probably should've been more like $5-6. I am usually not one to complain about pricing because my husband and I love trying new places, regardless of price, but the prices here versus quantity of food with the extra percentage of service tacked on didn't seem worth coming here.

I will say, the lobster tails were pretty big and very good, and our waiter was very nice and provided excellent wait service.

Came to celebrate our anniversary and decided we would check out this place because of most of the positive reviews, but were extremely underwhelmed by the service, experience, and taste. The NY Strip was left completely unseasoned and the small amount of melted garlic butter placed on top did nothing to enhance the flavor. The Seafood pasta was okay, but nothing to rave about. Definitely not worth the amount of money they charge for it. The server was friendly but overall not very attentive and seemed disinterested. They also had a 4% service charge which was separate from any sort of tax or gratuity. Overall, the pricing does not appropriately fit the quality of the food

My wife and I had a delightful dinner at Lure this evening. The food was wonderful, as well as the service.
The reason I only gave it a 4 star rating was because after spending over $130 on dinner and drinks, they then soakee me with a $5.58 service fee. I even tried to pay with cash and was told that they charge it no matter how you pay. I know that the big cities are doing this, but I come to Door County to escape this kind of GARBAGE.
And before someone replies and tells me that "all restaurants are doing this," we ate at about 20 different places this week in Door County, and yes, some were even high end like Lure, and NOBODY stuck us with this service fee. I will be thinking twice before coming here again.
