Are there last night around 8pm, ordered country fried chicken, later that night extreme food poisoning and miserable!! Service was rude and unprofessional acted like they didn’t want us to be there and busy cleaning up and not worried about the few tables, leaving food out and risking someone being sick vs doing your job and making sure food is safe to consume. I will NEVER return to the “wannabe cracker barrel” restaurant ever again.

Reload table.I really enjoyed having lunch here today.They have quite a varied menu and the food is quite good.The service was amazing.The atmosphere was great.And they haven't all you can eat salad bar plus on the upside.You can do a little shopping in the foyer.And find some unique gifts for birthdays.Christmas or whatnot. They have lots of parking that is available.They do accept reservations.And the people were very friendly.

Listen, I’m a big guy & food is what I do & I love a good fish fry. Let’s start with the only positive. The waitress we had was very nice. She was new but did a great job. The food was terrible. It was over priced and very dated. Fish fry - first order only two pieces, fish was so small, and hard as a rock, the second order was VERY salty. I cannot fathom why you put lettuce with an appetizer, it got so dusty it broke in hand. Both meals looked like they threw the food on the plate. The salad bar was a flash back to the 80’s.
If you are in your 70’s you’ll love it

We were there for a private event & more people showed up than were expected, so I didn't think they were prepared for that. I think that's what affected the service. The food was great! The arrangement for the self-serve stations was a bit awkward, so it made getting all the available food items awkward. Again, we were a larger group than they were expecting.

We stopped for supper on a Saturday night and Natalie was our server. She was friendly and professional, her timing was perfectly balanced between being right on top of things and not being pushy. My only complaint was that it was chilly in the restaurant but I'm not taking points off for that, because that's an impossible task, getting the temperature perfect for everyone. And my sweetheart bought me a John Deere sweatshirt so that was a total plus!

The interior was very cute, and well put together. Like a mom and pop owned Cracker Barrell with a country store upon entering.

We came for breakfast and wasn't super impressed. The eggs weren't cooked to order, the potatoes seemed as if they were under a warmer and not crispy at all, however the chicken fried chicken with gravy was very good. The rest of the breakfast items were basic, nothing to rave about. The hostess was very friendly and had a very welcoming presence about him. The waitress was a little bland and not personable at all. Maybe we just came too early.

If I was a local I would come back and try some other menu items.

I better walk through the pearly gates and see this restaurant. The atmosphere was incredible, the service was great, and the homestyle comfort food was the best part of my week. The brisket melts in your mouth and the cinnamon apples were so good I could've just eaten them and nothing else. This restaurant is worth checking out without a doubt.

I usually love this place. Never been to this location though. Service was very under par. Took about 15 to 20 minutes after we were seated for our waitress to take our order. So we ordered drinks and food at the same time because it took so long. After that took about 25 minutes for her to bring us our drinks. It was like she was waiting for our appetizer to be done to bring our drinks. By which time our meals we ordered were done and didn't have time for appetizers because we didn't want our food to get cold. Sweet potato was very small shriveled up and over cooked. Butter was frozen. Other then those two things food was good. Just very poor service from this young lady. Maybe was just having a off day but her personality kind of fit the bill of she just didn't give a rats behind. Never came to check on us. Had to stop her so I could get more water. I should note it was not busy what so ever. Otherwise I would understand.

There was a man there I believe named Brian that was running around to a bunch of tables. Wish he was out waiter. Looked like he was doing an amazing job.

Always know this place to give great Midwestern service and friendly atmosphere. Been going to the iowa location since I was very young. This location needs to have a talk with staff of what is expected of the brand name. We will not be returning to this location.

Waffles were amazing, omelet was so delicious. I loved the salmon by the salad bar. Delicious.
The 5 stars goes to my waitress Kayla though.
Food was good, but it was made great by Kayla. Attentive, despite being so busy, we were checked on often, our drinks never empty. She was kind and full of smiles the entire time. Listening to some of the people she was putting up with.

Stopped to eat there Sunday night after a day at the Zoo. There were 9 of us. Im not sure what our waiters name was but he was excellent! He was spot on with everyone at the table. Eye contact, the way he served the food and even making sure the kids were safe as he brought the food out. The food was pretty good with family style sides set on the table before the meal. I love great service ! I hope the owners know how lucky they are!

I live in Rockford, Illinois, and we have a machine shed here in our town. The one here in Rockford seems to be a little more appealing than the one in Wisconsin. We were just at. The one in Wisconsin seemed to be a little dated. It was about 1 PM when we stopped to eat, and I had me a BLT sandwich. The bacon was a little too crispy. Other than that the food was good.

Great breakfast place! Came here for breakfast on our vacation. Wanted to try their cinnamon rolls but the were sold out! Grrrrrrr. I ended up trying their cinnamon roll French toast. It was great! My wife had the eggs Benedict which was also good! My girls had the pancakes, large and very good.

Their potato soup really is amazing. It's so thick that it's more like a chowder. I was so full of the bowl, I never got to my half of turkey sandwich for the lunch special for $11!! Food- Absolutely awful. My first time there, we stopped Friday the 4th around 6pm. Everything else was closed, so we stopped by this place with my daughters. The fish fry was cold fishy for a cod and chewy. I couldn’t even cut it with the fork. My daughter had a chicken Dijon sandwich, she tried eating half but the chicken was super dry and flavorless.
The coffee was good!
I wouldn’t dine there again, over priced for the quality. I wouldn’t mind paying a little higher price for something GOOD.

Service was not bad. I just really dislike when servers just let dishes accumulate and don’t even have space to sign the bill on the table .

This restaurant used to be one of my absolute favorites—so much so that whenever I came into town, I’d make it a point to bring my extended family here for a memorable night out. It was a place known for quality, comfort, and care in every dish.

Unfortunately, during our visit in June 2025, what we experienced was mediocrity at every turn. The once-exceptional food felt uninspired and poorly executed. A tough piece of gristle in my meatloaf was unacceptable, the French onion soup was no better than what you’d expect at a Denny’s, and the banana cream pie tasted disappointingly artificial. And that was just my order. Every person at the table had something disappointing to report after the meal.

I was embarrassed to have brought my family here, and the thought that I likely won’t return is a real heartbreak. We’ll be looking for a new spot to make our tradition going forward.

We had a large family get together and Machine Shed was able to accommodate us at the last minute which was great. We were seated immediately despite the size of our group. This restaurant serves you large bowls of apple slices, bread rolls and coleslaw in addition to your order. I absolutely loved their roasted cauliflower. My youngest daughter had a difficult time finding something on the menu to eat being a picky eater. Our waiter did a fantastic job given the size of our group and breakdown of all the orders. I heard no complaints from anyone in our group about anything they ordered. Prices appeared to be in line with most restaurants we have been at recently. Our children enjoyed browsing through the gift shop.

This was on Saturday, May 3rd. The waitress, an older thin lady, only checked on me once or twice during my entire time there, which was about an hour. She also mixed up my order; I ordered the hungry man breakfast and wanted French toast, but she brought pancakes with my meal. She also failed to bring syrup and butter.

I’ll be honest it’s a restaurant that’s always great in theory but never seems to hold up to standard. They seem to have lost their passion in the kitchen and the food coming out is severely lacking flavor, appeal, and more. It would be nice to see the restaurant make some sort of progress but everytime nothing seems to make itself better. Catfish was beyond oily and lacked breading and seasoning, turkey was doused in semi cold clumpy gravy. The sides just looked sad, especially the lackluster vegetables. Don’t get me wrong the staff was amazing, but that is about the only positive thing about this place nowadays. Hopefully they can make some changes soon.

I've lived in this area all my life and it took me until almost being 49 yrs old to finally stop here. Idk what took so long, but this place really surpassed my expectations.
We came for the all you can eat fish fry. I started with the beer battered cod, tried the baked cod second, then the fried cod last. Omg they were all delicious!!!! If I had to pick my fav, I'd say the fried was it.
All the sides were pretty tasty, especially the German potato salad.
My family can't wait to come back to see what the broasted chicken tastes like next!
