We love Mad Rooster in Pleasant Prairie and have been dining there regularly since it opened. But, yesterday, we had Maria E. as our server, and she was terrible. We've never had bad service there until having her. She was inaccessible and acted as if we were an inconvenience to her. It was as if she was going out of her way to delay service to us throughout our visit. It was noon, and the restaurant wasn't even half full. We won't quit going to Mad Rooster, but we will not accept having her as our server going forward.

Waitresses were very nice however she forgot my bacon which I ordered crispy which it wasn't. I think they microwave it because it was extremely hot but rubbery. Crepes were not cooked enough and just a bit too thick. First time there....last time there. I don't know if there is a different cook on the weekends cause I just can't see how this place is packed every weekend.

This place was amazing. It was incredibly busy but the staff was masterful in their knowledge of how to manage and operate a super busy restaurant. Even though we had to wait for a seat you could see how efficiently tables were being turned over.

Our server was Michael and he offered warmth, authenticity, joy and skillful service. Truly exemplary of a great restaurant experience.

Next time I’m in Milwaukee or Kenosha, I’ll be back to Mad Rooster Cafe.

I have NEVER had a bad or mediocre breakfast at this place. I live out of the area and I constantly am thinking about when I'm going to take the 50 mnt. drive to go there again. The quality, service and atmosphere are all excellent. The food ALWAYS arrives hot and even the toast comes to the table hot! Being from Chicago, we are used to a little bit different breakfast flavors. I thoroughly enjoyed my Mad omelette. However, my guest did not like her corned beef as it was whole and not ground like we are accustomed to in Chicago. The flavor of the pancakes were also a bit off and felt a little undercooked. The never-ending coffee served in large mugs was great. We also ordered the beignets, which, despite not being authentic were yummy nonetheless. Finally between the Kenosha site and the Milwaukee location, I favor the latter.

Wow! Very generous potions and I had to many choices 🤣. Settled on the chilaquiles with steak. Absolutely a great choice recommended by our server Jennifer. We were in town visiting our son and he recommended this for brunch. Definitely a locals favorite so be patient and its worth the wait ( approximately 15-20 minutes for us.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy special with 2 eggs. They have a chorizo sausage gravy which is good. The server (Lexi) brought a extra cup of the gravy and she was quick to inform me of the difference of their gravy compared to the traditional sausage gravy.
She honestly saved this review with her service.
The amount of gravy served from the kitchen wasn't enough to cover the biscuits. So the extra cup made the presented breakfast enjoyable. Nobody likes dry biscuits 😒.
The ambiance is Farmhouse with a splash of Southwest.
Their menu is classic American infused with Mexican Flavors.

This place can be very limited as far as seating goes. They'll be a line outside of people waiting to get in. Some of the cushion seats in the booths need to be reupholstered due to wear and tear by many I'm sure. My wife and I sat in one, complained about it, asked to be reseated if possible. Two employees were indecisive on what to do with our request. Though the third employee, Idanyse up front took the initiative to act on our behalf and accommodated us with professionalism. She is one of few in the food and beverage industry who actually pay attention to their paying customers. Thank you Idanyse! We'll be back again.

This is my go to spot for breakfast in the area. My favorites are the Southern and Country Benedicts, the biscuits and gravy and the Poblano skillet. The chicken sausage gravy is phenomenal, thick homemade biscuits (that hold up well as leftovers) and the chicken tenders (country benedict) has a kick but goes perfectly. Even though they stay busy, they do a great job managing the wait times. Can never go wrong coming here. I do every week.

I can't comment on the food and the service because I didn't eat here. It caught my attention when I was looking for a place to eat. Well, actually, II went to a different place, and on my way out. I saw this restaurant and I goes. Oh, that might be a nice place to take the family and so I went inside and took a look around. And looked at the menu, see what they had to offer as well as pricing. All this reasonable and the place was humming. It was, it looked pretty good.
Did anything stand out? I talked with one of the managers, you know, how long they've been there, you know what their favorite dish is, and you know? Things of that nature, and she said that she's not a pic. What did she say?
Poached eggs, she says she didn't like poached eggs that much, but she tried it for the first time in this place and she enjoyed it well. I say to that kudos to you my friend, I can't walk. I can't walk that path. I'm not a big fan, but it took her. It took her out of her comfort zone to try it. So that says something

My team and I were assigned to a job in Pleasant Prairie for several months. We found the Mad Rooster and have been going for lunch every chance we get. The food is great!! Good size portions, decently priced & a large variety of items. However, the best part of going to the Rooster is the service! The restaurant is clean & food always comes out quickly. Everyone there is friendly and personable. Monica, Jessica & Jennifer are usually our waitresses. THEY ARE THE BEST! Lunch is always fun and entertaining. I was seated immediately and service was very quick and pleasant. Disappointingly, the quick serve breakfast, was cold. I would bet that the eggs, hash browns and pancakes were premade and sitting on a warming plate somewhere versus being made to order. We stopped at Mad Rooster on a drive from Chicago to Milwaukee on a Tuesday just before noon. It's right off the highway and very easy to get to. It was busy, but we were still seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive, and did a great job while serving several other large parties in our section.

The food was amazing. We were still talking about how good a meal it was for a couple of days after we left. Everything was fresh and delicious and came quickly. Unfortunately we're not local to be able to go back soon, but if you're nearby, you should go!

But I had to diminish one star because we went there to have lunch today and it felt like 82 degrees inside the store.. I even asked someone if there was an issue with their AC and apparently it was running it just was not enough. I’m not someone who enjoys hot weather or heat so the atmosphere was very uncomfortable to me. If I could, I’d set the worlds temperature to a constant maximum of 73 degrees Fahrenheit.

We came back again and weren’t completely disappointed! My husband had the biscuits and gravy, his eggs were slightly undercooked, but he still said the meal was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles, which also came with gravy. The gravy was absolutely delicious, the waffle was fluffy, and the chicken was moist and tender. I wasn’t totally in love with the breading on the chicken, but it was still good overall.

Service was fast, and our waitress was nice, though she didn’t check in for refills. One ongoing frustration is the pricing. My son’s lemonade was brought out as a large without asking, and it rang up at $6.50. Thankfully, the manager stepped in and adjusted it to the kids’ price, which we really appreciated.

The food is solid, and we’re thankful the manager helped resolve the issue. We also ran into the DM who also apologized and remembered us from last time.

Be prepared for a wait! As is the sign of any good breakfast dinner, there was a wait out the door even by the time we left around 1230. If I had to point out a negative to our experience, it's that we were told 25min wait but we ended up waiting 45min. I wouldn't even take a star away for that at all

The menu options were all so amazing sounding and offered such a diversified array. Hot chocolate was decadent and great. Bloody Mary was decent enough and reasonably priced and actually better than I expected. Chilaquiles were really good. The potatoes were great. The classic eggs benedict was classic and yet unique and the ham basically melted in your mouth.

Within 3 mins of sitting down and just hearing our waitress work we both could tell she was amazing at her job and we were right. The staff we interacted with were all pleasant

Came here for brunch and I was impressed. I was surprised how an omelet was $16 until it came out. You could choose toast or pancakes, and one choice between potatoes or fruit. I settled on the carnivore omelette stuffed with meat and cheese. I got the fruit cup as my side, but I would get potatoes next time. I decided on the pancakes for my carb to make it worthwhile. The omelette was delicious and the pancakes were light and fluffy. The fruit cup was good, but some of the fruit wasn’t in season, so they weren’t as sweet as I’d like. The only downside was that my friend I was with used their waitlist online, and we sat there for a while waiting for a table. Once you make a reservation, you are supposed to check in with the host, but she didn’t know, so we sat there waiting for our table while multiple people came in and got seated right away. Not sure if she missed a note on the site but we lost some time due to it.

Me and my wife have wanted to try this place for a while. Little disappointed food wise. It was just ok. Food wasn't awful, but there's definitely better options around. The flavor was underwhelming, but it was prepared well. If you like more mild flavors, you'll probably like the food. I personally prefer stronger flavors.

Atmosphere wise its a cute country vibe which is neat. The place is usually pretty dang busy, which is why my wife and I have been wanting to try for a while. It's definitely a bit chaotic when it's busy from the time I tried before. If you're easily overwhelmed or overstimulated, it might be a bit much when it's busy.

Tried for the first and last time today. The wait is long. The seating area is extremely claustrophobic. The menu likes to leave out common ingredients and substitute others in their place. This would be acceptable if the prices were lower. Your spending $20+ a person easily here. There is no room for substitutions and lack of quality at this price point. Hash browns are apparently replaced as french fries. Asked for a side and was told they were out of it. Again, for these prices, this is highly unacceptable. Also, the Jelly was tasteless and the fries were undercooked and potentially spoiled. I've never had a French fry I wouldn't eat, until now...... This is a place for those who don't care about quality, as long as it looks good. Also, what is a burrito crepe and why is it on the menu? The decorations look nice, but the atmosphere is killed by the claustrophobic feeling. Oh and almost forgot. They use hand held tablet scanning for everything. Including paying, while your waitress stands there watching you tip. Such an awkward unenjoyable experience. :(

Me and my father went here for breakfast at the very beginning of our road trip from Milwaukee to New York. We always try to eat in unfamiliar places--every meal--whenever we are on vacation. Mad Rooster Cafe was a really good beginning for this trip as the menu served food that was both unique and traditional. My father got the 'ham and cheese crepe' and said it was really good--i myself am not really a fan of ham but I'll take his word for it--and I got a waffle with strawberries on top. It was a simple dish but it was still delicious nonetheless, and it was very clear the strawberries were completely; not to mention sweet. The staff was very kind, I do not remember the name of our server but she had gray hair just above her shoulders and she was so lovely.

Finally leaving a review for the limited SE WI chain which we first tried last July in the middle of the week. The first attempt was on a Sunday late morning a couple of months prior but the venue was Mad packed.

The food here is quite good if not a bit pricy and the menu all around is quite extensive including health options. Dining room is very clean & spacious and the service shines bright.

If the place is jam-packed, overflow parking will take you to the south end of Woodman's parking lot. Luckily I work 3rd shift so making it out here mid-week when it's not nearly as busy isn't a problem.

Great food, been here 3 times now and every time the food has been incredible. The food also comes out soooo fast which is very helpful cus I am usually coming here before a doctors appointment and I have bad timing, lol. The best part of this place is the STAFF!! Every server I have had is so so nice and sweet, Chad was kind as heck at our last visit and today Azailey (I hope I am spelling that right 😭🙏) was so kind and thorough and fast!!! Love the atmosphere and the food and the people! It might seem to be a tad bit on the pricier side for a breakfast joint but considering a lot of the food is homemade its really cheap, and this food is WORTH your money. I really cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you Mad Rooster, my mom and I will be back very soon 😊

Waited a while to be greeted at the table. Server finally came and we made sure to order everything all at once because we didn't know when we would see him again. I received a text message saying my order was ready. Cool. We didn't get food for a while after. Food was luke warm. I got the smallest dollop of butter for my waffle. The syrup is in an oil glass container that you have to fight with to get anything out. They sure do want to save money on that.
Had to ask for my fresh squeezed orange juice a second time. But it's not fresh squeezed. Bloody mary was too spicy, couldn't drink it. He dropped the food and we never saw him again. Asked the hostess twice to get our server so we could leave. They have you pay at the table with them watching over you. Still didn't tip gerenously like we usually do.

The atmosphere and theme of the restaurant were nailed! The place is decorated so cute to meet its county farm vibes. Our server was friendly and the food arrived quickly. The food was just okay at best. Perhaps over priced for what it is. The biscuits and gravy was $16 for 2 biscuits and a SMALL amount of gravy that came with it. The gravy had a gritty texture and lacked flavor. The scrambled eggs tasted like they came out of a carton and weren’t “real” fresh eggs. However, the Tres Leches pancakes were tasty and flavorful! The strawberry smoothie was good as well but the menu says “fruit purée”, $6 for not having fresh or frozen strawberries is just a little pricey IMO.

I took a friend there for her birthday breakfast. She had been there once before and raved about the food and service. Our experience was quite the opposite. The food was cold and disgusting. The portions were small for the prices charged. There was some weird sauce on my $20 corned beef hash, the eggs were undercooked, the bread was barely toasted and didn't even melt the butter. The entire meal was cold. The biscuits and gravy my friend ordered, she didn't touch. She said it wasn't the same as her last visit and tasted gross. Her food was cold as well. Her orange juice was warm. I ordered a side of fruit. Not good either. I spit the kiwi into my napkin cause it was hard and nitter. Only offered 1 refill of the $4 coffee, after we were through with the meal. We didn't finish either meal.

The service by Jennifer B. was atrocious. She spent an inappropriate sitting, yes sitting, and socializing with the customers around us. After speaking with the manager, she stopped coming around our table all together, to the point I was wondering if I was getting a check. The manager comped the $20 corned beef and eggs, but the bill was still $40.

If prices for breakfast that are comparable to a steak house with white table cloths, then the meal and service better be stellar. Nither was true. My friend and I each drove 40 minutes, from oposite directions, to receive this dumpster fire of a breakfast experience. Believe you me, not only will we not be back, we will tell everyone we know about our lousy experience.

Pass this place by. There are plenty of restaurants that have great food and wonderful service for half the price.

I was driving to a different breakfast spot when I spotted this place so I went to try it..it had pretty high ratings so I took a chance..I had the Jalapeño skillet. It was 2 scrambled eggs on top of Chicken chorizo, red potatoes, cheese and avocado. Surprisingly the red potatoes were cut like French fries, I was expecting the diced potatoes. I only mention that because I asked them to make the potatoes crispy, usually I can tell with the diced kind because there is a crunch, but when the dish came I could tell that there was no attempt to make the fries crispy. The Jalapeños were the whole ones, grilled and sliced in halves as opposed to what I’m used to in other restaurants with a similar breakfast skillet dish which is when it’s the fresh jalapeños cut in smaller slices. You get a side of Pancakes or toast. I chose the Pancakes. They were thicker than I expected which was a bonus. They tasted basic, similar to Mimosa’s and Honey butter cafe’s pancakes with nothing really standing out besides the fluffiness.
I would go there again to try something different. Overall experience was decent. For 2 meals with no extras added to the meal and no drinks(besides the water) The total was around $34.

My boyfriend and I came to try MRC for the first time and it was such a great experience. Michael R. did such a great job helping us by giving recommendations. Service was ok, but I am a server and I understand being busy. it’s kind of odd that managers and bussers are standing around not running food, when the servers are running around stressed. I have a very picky family, and my stepmom visited here and was very skeptical, saying she is always disappointed by breakfast eggs because they’re always cold, and she is the type who is not afraid to send dishes back and complain if they’re not correct. She ordered the skillet and then told me after the meal that it was the best breakfast she’s ever had. Truly the highest praise she’s ever given a restaurant. I always take friends and family here when they visit, and every single thing I’ve ever ordered is truly delicious and crafted with care. You will not be disappointed!

This place is worth the wait! Join the wait-list ahead of time. The chicken was the best we've ever had. Try the chorizo gravy. My omelet was so fresh! The service was outstanding 😀 maybe Lexi? Our server, Eduardo was fantastic! We have mobility issues @ he was so helpful getting us “situated”. It was about 11am on a Fri & it was very busy. U would never know it by the friendly, attentive service.
The only drawback was the lemon ricotta pancakes. They were rather dense & not really cooked thru. The menu did not indicate that there was blueberry compote on top.

This place is so good. I'm from Houston, and I wish this place was there too. It's like IHOP and Denny's went to the gym and got muscles lol. I recommend this place to everyone. It was a little expensive for breakfast ($4 for an iced tea and $15 for entrees) but the food is good and plenty to fill u up. I believe the biscuits are cornmeal based as they were dry and not Fluffy. It could be because a lot of the meals are Mexican themed. The chicken chorizo gravy was very tasty and poached eggs were done perfectly.

Both my wife and I were disappointed with the food. Our waitress, however, was wonderful, and very attentive. I got the Espanola omelet. It was very thick, luke warm and a little runny on the inside. The red potatoes where string potatoes and on the greasy side. My wife got the crepe burrito and she was disappointed as well (warm as well). The flavors were just bland. Maybe we should have sent back to heat up or just ordered the wrong items. We did get there at 8:30 am to beat the Sunday rush. Your restaurant is always busy maybe it was just a one off.

Was at Kenosha location this morning at 8:30am. Second time eating here. First time very long wait for food but chalked it up to just opening that month. Today the eggs were runny, fruit not cold and pancakes although looked good were literally room temperature. The butter did not melt at all. Sausage links were good and coffee was hot. After days of consideration I’d like to write this review in good faith that someone was just having a bad day. Considering we have never ever had a bad experience.
After asking for a booth we got sat with waitress Maria. I started in food industry and worked doing exactly as Maria did for many many years. Maria did not make sure our drinks were filled , she did not great us with a smile. Our food was cold as if sat for a couple minutes before being served.
Overall just poor service .
My family will be back but we will never sit will this woman again.

All the food at the table looked and tasted incredible. The skillet i got was a special but had pablano peppers and brisket in it and was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Waitress was so very polite and quick. Was told a 25 minute wait but it was only like 10 minutes
