Newer resident of Wisconsin here and I'll start by saying me and my family moved here from Kansas (a EXTREMELY small community/area) so needless to say there are so many new options for us here regarding food. And regarding this restaurant in particular, The consistency of amazing food keeps me coming back it's one of the only places I know what I'm getting and that it will come out the same way each time and in a world that's constantly changing that is such a comforting quality!! And fast food can get boring! Keep up the great work! Your cooks do a fantastic job! 100/10 would definitely recommend! I haven't ate in yet, so I can not give any reviews on the inside, but I will be making time soon!

Hands down the best restaurant/cafe in the area. The owners are great people who treat their employees as family and take the time to acknowledge and talk to their customers. The food is always fast and consistent, every time. My wife and I were there today getting our Sunday breakfast like we do every Sunday, when we noticed a young man come in and ask to charge his phone. We overheard two of the waitresses talking to him, they asked if he was there by himself and how old he was. The young man said he was twelve years old and he was by himself and just trying to charge his phone before he walked home so he had his phone available to him in case he needed it. The waitress then asked him if he was hungry and he said he didn’t have any money. She told him to pick what he wanted from the menu and he picked chicken strips. They had a meal made and gave it to him to eat while his phone charged. They then asked him if he was ok walking home or if he needed a ride or anything else. The young man replied that he was ok to walk home now that his phone was charged. You don’t find businesses or people that would do this sort of thing anymore. The two waitresses that got him a meal and took the time to sit and talk to him to make him feel comfortable were very young themselves, one being about 21, the other around 17. Sujeiry and Macy, you are both amazing people! What I witnessed was truly how we should all treat others. I can’t recommend Main Street Cafe enough! This is the kind of business we want in our community, we should all support them, as they do the people in our city. There were no cameras or phones recording this to post and receive recognition for, it was done out of the kindness of their hearts. Sujeiry and Macy, keep being yourselves and never change. You are both amazing people. Adil and Minera, you should both be so proud of what you’ve built!

I tried Main St. Cafe for the first time today. It's my kind of place, a basic small town diner with good food and friendly staff. I had biscuits and gravy with two eggs over easy. The eggs were perfect, just the way I like them! Biscuits were fantastic, but the gravy, while very tasty, was really lacking on sausage. It was 90% gravy and 10% sausage, so I don't recommend it. Otherwise I will be back to try more of the breakfast items!

UPDATE Jan 2025: After the place closed down for a break last summer, the service has gone way downhill. I've been in a few times, crowded and uncrowded, and both times waited half an hour for my breakfast order. It looks like they are very understaffed.

Today we went to this place for the first time, I did not like it at all since we entered there. The woman who brought us the menus looked like she had not taken a shower in several days, then she blew her nose and I did not see her disinfect her hands, that is disgusting, she did it 3 times while we were there, the food was not good, the skillet I ordered was cold, the only good thing was the toasted bread... the service of the waitress, that was good, but it could still improve more.

My lady, my bestie and I visited here today for breakfast. It was sit any where. We picked a table that wasn't wiped down yet. They wiped it down immediately. Got us our menus and drink orders right away. Then at least 20 minutes went by. I saw new customers sit down and get their orders taken shortly after being seated. I had to find a server and tell her we still needed our orders taken. That's the only reason they lost a star. My Bestie enjoyed her food. My lady, ehhh...she loved her last visit. The bill was $40 total for the 3 of us. Not bad at all!
They have a huge menu with very great prices. We'll definitely go back and try other food. The servers need improvement and possibly more training. They seemed a little unorganized today and forgetful. Still worth another visit.

I haven’t been to Main Street Cafe in a number of years. Since my last visit they’ve expanded/renovated their dining area. It looks great!! Outside of a small section of my food being slightly burn. The meal was spot on. I took my family of 5 on a Sunday during the “after church” crowd was there. It was a little busy. Keep up the wonderful work Main Street Cafe crew. Great little cafe in downtown Watertown. We stop here frequently when visiting town. Prices are quite reasonable, service is generally prompt and friendly, and the food is pretty good quality. Try the bird's nest for breakfast, or if you're in for something more lunchy, the French Dip is excellent!

A wonderful little breakfast in a wonderful little town. MSC is nothing special - just a quaint little cafe in downtown Watertown WI where you can get a reliably good breakfast and cup of coffee. In my case, I met a friend there for breakfast. The service was great and afterwards the wait staff got out of the way and we were allowed to sit and talk for an hour with occasional visits to refresh the coffee. Great spot.

Food is ok, not really seasoned or especially flavorful. Fries were well cooked, crispy and good. Spouse's order was partially forgotten but delivered in reasonable amount of time after reminding the server. Hash browns were reported to be very greasy and mushy and were left uneaten. The omelette was overcooked to the point that eggs were crispy and hard on the edges. My burger was prepared well but no real flavor. Our child's deli sandwich was the best looking order of the family. Bread was perfectly toasted, ingredients and presentation were great. Coffee refills were good but not other drinks like tea. Atmosphere was exceedingly loud and actually too loud for our family to have any kind of conversation while eating. The entry doors and register have posted notices for a 3% surcharge on everything but no explanation as to why then checkout actually pressures for a 25% tip which is exceptionally off-putting for an experience like this during unprecedented inflationary pressure.
There are MANY competitive options nearby offering great value, so we will definitely be visiting some of them during our next visit in town.

Original review… See edit. Service was awful. I ordered baked cod and got a very chewy piece of fish. Burger wasn’t excellent either. Definitely not a 4.5 star restaurant. Once I asked for something else I waited another 20 minutes to get a new plate. Waiter did not seem super apologetic either. Highly recommend going somewhere like Pine Cone instead. They have comparable prices, better service, and better food.

Edit: I went to Main St Cafe again today for breakfast, and it was super good. I increased my review from 1 star to 4. Perhaps choose another place for dinner, but come here for breakfast!
