This a charming place that has quite a diverse menu with some of the best potato pancakes that I have ever tasted. Everyone in our table of 6 had something different and we all agreed it was one tasty meal with no room for dessert. I thought there should have been more ingredients in my omelette and the sausage links should have been browned. There were very few pieces of green pepper, onion, ham and feta cheese in the omelette for the price. Best thing in this meal were the hash browns which were cooked to perfection. My friend and I went for lunch on a Friday and were pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere and gathering at this hidden gem. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful, with the staff answering all our questions patiently and knowledgeably.

As all great diners are, Main Street Cafe is nestled in a seedy-looking plaza next to businesses that could easily be money-laundering fronts for organized crime. Inside, it is homey, cozy, and full of regulars who no longer have to see a menu or even order because the waitresses all know exactly what they want. This is exactly what you want from a good diner: simple, friendly, on the verge of questionable.

I came here each morning of my business trip, walking through the broken-up, desolate parking lot, half expecting to see a shady deal occurring from the trunk of an old Caddy. By the third morning, the waitresses knew me, knew what I wanted, and I simply had to nod in my morning fog to receive a cold glass of fresh-brewed iced tea from perhaps the only place in the state to make it this way.

The food - eggs, bacon, toast, hash - was cooked perfectly, like a lover brought to the brink of ecstasy. Only as greasy as it needed to be. No frills. Just wholesome food. I left fulfilled, a small sliver of my hope in humanity restored.

Food was average. Service was extremely slow. Tried to use a Clipp coupon which they redeemed, but didn't take off the bill. When we mentioned it, they said that they had. If that was the case, that was the most expensive tuna melt and enchiladas I've ever had. Then, prior to the coupon, the meal, with 2 sodas would have been $52.50. Really not worth the price.

Breakfast is the only meal that's edible. I've tried lunch and dinner, and they're made for people with no taste buds. Fish fry tasteless and gummy. Burger dry. Spaghetti... noodles overcooked, meat sauce flavorless. Side salad... lettuce so wet from washing dressing wouldn't adhere. Tonight I dm spent $19 for a root beer and a side salad I only ate half of because the spaghetti was unpalatable. I'm done with this place

I was excited to try Main Street Cafe as I am new to West Bend and loved their menu.

I had a cup of Chicken Dumpling soup which had good flavor, but was mostly broth. I would get it again though.

I then had Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. I was most disappointed in the meatloaf, it was dry, hard, and difficult to cut. It was smothered in gravy, which was good as were the mashed potatoes. The green beans were overcooked and mushy.

I will give MSC another try, but will be more skeptical.

We rarely go out for breakfast, but the dog's grooming appointment had us out earlier than most weekends. We decided to take advantage and have breakfast. We stopped in at Main Street Cafe, which we hadn't ever been to, with no real expectations. We were greeted and seated timely, but the food was far less than exceptional. It was fine, price was fine, but I cook a lot and I found I could have made it a lot better myself. The waitress was very kind and attentative, as was all of the staff that we interacted with.

Small cafe with decent traditional food items. Clientele tends to be older with traditional eats. The last visit was over a holiday when limited restaurants were open. They appeared to be understaffed and waited a bit to be seated as well as took a whilt to be noticed once seated. This was not a typical situation / experience due to the holiday. This is what a hometown diner is all about. Great food, great service, reasonable prices, generous portions, and a wide range of menu options. With community and relationships being built at their tables.

In my opinion, they're Mexican food is better than the Mexican restaurants in town. We've also had their breakfast and it was also on point. The waitresses know their menu well and have shown themselves to be very good at helping us find the perfect meal.

I came for a fish fry. I started with a Whiskey Old Fashioned sweet. Thought the server forgot what I asked for she didn't write it down and was doing other things before she got to the bar. I heard her request to the bar, she got it right. It was a nice refreshing whiskey old fashioned with a big slice of orange on the rim.

I ordered onion rings for appetizer, crispy and hot. The salad was a big iceberg lettuce salad with big slices of cucumber and tomato. I had to cut it down to bite size.

The fish fry was a plate loaded with 3 big pieces of deep fried cod, french fries and slices of rye bread. Came with a bowl of coleslaw. I had so much to eat, couldn't even get to the rye bread or coleslaw.

The fish pieces were big and had a light crispy mildly seasoning batter. Very pleasing.

Service was great, atmosphere was great 👍

My first visit...
I stopped in about 5 pm. It wasn't busy. You can sit your self. I ordered a Modelo Negra, received it with a slice of lime on the rim.

There's a huge menu, lots of options, Mexican, Italian, breakfast, lite, hamburgers, fish fry etc.

I had the #2 Combo: Enchilada, Tostada and Flauta, flour tortillas and pork. Came with refried beans and rice. The tortilla was loaded. Tortilla tasted home made. Came with salsa and sour cream on the side. Wasn't too spicy. Tasted home made, home cooked. Huge portions. Everything tasted good.

For dessert I had a slice of apple pie and a scoop of ice cream.

The server kept checking on me. Every helpful when I needed water, more napkins and getting my dessert the way I wanted it.

Watch out for the salsa that comes with the chips, it started out mild, then hit me later. I needed tissues for my eyes and nose.

It's your typical small town cafe. Charming truly, but lackluster when it comes to service and food. Waitress made my group of 5 feel like a bother. We needed a minute to order so she took that as we needed an extra 10 minutes. Coffee tasted like a powder mix. Waited for our food for about another 20 minutes. Which is fine, i reasoned, the food would be probably be great. We got the food. It wasn't great. Pancakes were dry and flat, scrambled eggs were dryer than the pancakes, bacon was okay. None of my group finished our meals. The waitress also did not visit our table once to refill waters or coffee (not that we needed coffee, it was truly repulsive). Thank you, but we won't be back.

The server was good. The kitchen was fast and the atmosphere was nice. But man. The core concept of a restaurant is food. And the food here just wasn’t good. I had scrambled eggs bacon and pancakes with a side of hash browns and toast.

Bacon was undercooked
Eggs honestly tasted bland.
And the pancakes were just awful.

Wife had an omelet and she wasn’t a fan either. Said it basically had no taste.

Ultimately. The staff and the atmosphere can’t make good food.

We will be back to try their lunch/ dinner at one point but so far. Not a fan.
