We went to Mainstream for a late lunch on Friday after golfing. We sat at the bar and was greeted right away with menus and put in our drink order. After receiving our drinks, service became almost non-existent. We had to ask if we could place a food order after waiting for 20 minutes for the bartender to come back. We ordered 2 baskets--grilled cheese and chicken nuggets. After about 30 minutes the food arrived. The chicken nuggets were mostly breading with a little chicken meat. The grilled cheese was 1 thin slice of American cheese between 2 slices of Texas toast. Both baskets were less than desirable to eat. We've been there many times with excellent service and food. Perhaps the new owners need to take a look at what's coming out of the kitchen and making sure the bartender is customer focused.

It wasn't super busy but it took quite a while for our food to come, which was a bit challenging with 3 kids. It took probably 30-45 minutes for some wings for our table, which in the past it has been faster. Wings weren't bad they have good flavors such as mango habanero and Korean ceasar. Did not care for the buffalo at all. Would go back but was disappointed with the wait for our food.

Waiter spent most of her time playing on her phone at end of bar. Her boyfriend next to her was vaping and didn't stop him. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Drunk at bar was trying to start fights with people. Very loud and very rude to people. Bartender keeps serving them when they were barely able to talk.

Since new ownership have had a bad experience but willing to try again. It was 75 and full sun we chose mainstream because of patio. 5mph wind which is nothing and they wouldn't put up umbrellas for a family member who loves being outside but cant be in direct sun. Multiple other customers asked about umbrellas and they said no. Food took over 45 min to come out on a Friday at 1130 am with no explanation. It wasn't very busy. Bu
the time our order was dropped on our table with no communication the fries and tots were cold. Also as we were paying our bill a group of women who must have been friends with the new owner got them to put an umbrella up for them. That made us feel terrible. Mom definitely wont be back but we might try. Been coming here since it opened.

Very disappointed since the new ownership came on board. This was our 3rd visit since the new owner has taken over. We are long time customers for the last 8 years and our last 3 visits have been terrible. Dirty tables, unfriendly waitstaff and bartender, long waits to order ( more than 15-18 minutes) and only received food when I asked about our order after 30 minutes. The new owner was at the bar this evening and didn't interact with any of the customers. When I shared my concerns with the new owner, I was left with a feeling of disappointment with his response. Will not be returning to Mainstream Bar.

My friend and I got our food to go, but we sat on the patio with drinks as we waited, and that was perfect. We each got build-your-own wraps, and mine was amazing! The wraps were huge; plenty for two meals. The service was friendly. It's very dark and incredibly loud. We usually have a group of about 12 to 16 when we go there. If more than 4 people are talking at a time...it sounds like you're in a concert, it's so loud. When people are at the bar talking...forget trying to hear anything . They need sound dampening panels or something to tone things down. Food is very good. Our server was patient and efficient!

If this is the best burger in Waukesha the bar is pretty low. Got the black and blue burger and it had so much remoulade sauce it coated my entire hand. The oil for frying was set too low so everything fried came out uber greasy with film all over it. I really try to not act like a jerk on these reviews bc I want local establishments to thrive, but today was not the best day for Mainstream. If I wanted drinks I'd go, but never for food.

Came in on a Thursday for wing night. I didn't realize just how small the interior of the bar was. It was very loud and cramped. But I did come in on a special night. My server was great if not a little all over the place trying to cover her area. The wings came out GREAT I cannot stress that enough. The wait was a little longer than I had expected, but they were delicious and well worth the wait. The kitchen staff did great by me getting me all flats and good and saucy. If you are into the Bar scene, this is the place for you.
The house made sauce for their chips is odd in my opinion. But everything was great. Come on down to this place and have some great wings!

Not sure what happened. Ordered the Ruben Burger and wings for takeout. The corned beef was cold and hard, the burger was barely warm and the bread was soggy. Seems like it was an old sandwich. Fries were cold and extremely greasy. The wings were chopped up, like someone hacked them with a meat cleaver, broken bone shards in my mouth and one wing was the size of a tater tot. I've patronized this business probably 30 times over the years, never had this experience before. Sadly, I won't be back.

Mainstream is an updated establishment (I consider it more of a bar that serves food). We had a group of seven so we had to push two hightop tables together, despite it being a Friday night we did not have to wait for one table but did have a short wait for the second table to open up(outside temp was in the low 20's so it wasn't overly busy, I have heard of waits up to 1 1/2 hours on a busy evening). Service was very good, the food was great, the burgers were massive and excellent, Fish Fry was very good and one guest ordered a flatbread that she enjoyed. I would have given Mainstream 5 stars except parking can be tricky (street or public lots are a short walk), and the fact that the restaurant fills up quickly kept it at 4 stars, also a testament of good food. I would return to try a Burger (Mainstream is known for them and looked delicious).
I have been back on more than one occasion, and the burgers are excellent!!! It's by far my favorite burger place in Waukesha County.

Not a fan of the burgers at all. No season, no flavor, Just cooked meat, and the quality tasted cheap and chewy even for a medium burger. The toppings were not fresh and the curds were not my liking. I was completely disappointed with my experience here yesterday 12/7/24. Came here with my husband, parents and mother in law. It was early evening. They were busy but there was a 4 person table available and a bigger table for 6 people. We sat down at the larger table because we had 5 people. A server came over to us and asked “Are you my other half of my 12 person group?” to which we said no. She then tells us “well you can’t sit here because I need this table”. There was NO reserved sign. She said “we don’t have reserved signs” and made us get up. We asked for a different spot and was told there was no other spot. The way she spoke to us was NOT friendly or accommodating. There was no…” hey, we should have a table open soon or let me see what we can do “ it was just NO. I simply liked at her and said “Fine, we’ll find somewhere else to eat” and we left. She didn’t care that she just forced my family including 3 elderly people out the door. Will never go back.

I usually love their food, but I don't suggest you get boneless wings from here. Just get the regular wings. The boneless were tiny lil nuggets and legitimately had no sauce on them. The fried mushrooms were excellent, my sons grilled cheese was ok...the cheese to bread ratio was off (def needed more cheese). I the past I've had wonderful food here. Their appetizers and burgers in particular are excellent. However, the NY Strip I ordered was much more like well done than medium rare. It was reasonably priced and I had already waited quite a while for it, so I ate it despite that, but I absolutely would not order it again. The service was pretty good, especially considering how busy it was, and nothing beats sitting outside down by the river. All in all, I was a little disappointed the food wasn't better, but I'll still come back again. I'll just make sure to stick with bar food.

THIS ISNT THE PLACE IT USED TO BE. I couldn’t wait to write this review. These used to be the best wings in town however now they are chicken meatballs. I paid 32 dollars for two orders of wings and approximately 10 soggy onion rings. Such a waste of a drive and an even bigger waste of money. It was basically a little snack on the way home and had I been in the restaurant i would have demanded a refund because these used to be true boneless wings. Large flat pieces of meat. Now, like i said, they are chicken meatballs. Did inflation finally get to you guys or what because this is pathetic! And the the manager that keeps commenting on reviews, don’t try to argue this one because I have pictures to prove your little round chicken meatball nuggets and your food sucks now. Pretty cool place for a quick bite. The prices are very reasonable. The downside if our visit was, they were very busy. All 4 of us ordered build a Burger. All of us order The Burger to be done medium. Thet arrived almost completely raw! Just the top and bottom was cooked a little. We never had anyone follow up on our food. So we paid and left.

The waters edge cheese curds taste like they were made by Jesus himself, and they also have pretty good burgers and wings, and a decent beer selection. But nothing will ever compare to those waters edge cheese curds, they have single handedly ruined every other curd for me.

If I could do negative stars, I would. Went there yesterday, we waited an hour for food, when it came out it was disgusting and cold. I don't know how you screw up a BLT, but they did. The server offered to take it back, I said no, I didn't have another hour of time to waste. 10% was taken off our bill, so it was about 2$. We will NEVER back. We did have a table of 7, we had 3 BLT baskets, one grilled cheese basket and 3 people had burgers. Everyone's food was not good and cold. Our friends that were with us that just moved to the area, that was their second time there and they stated they also will never be back as the first time they had a completely poor experience but thought they would give it another shot. Our sever was sweet.
