Firstly, Manny himself was a joy to talk to, however I wish we did not have to involve him. Our waitress was deceiving from the outset. We ordered a margarita and she asked us what kind of tequila we would like without telling us that the prices for margheritas listed on the menu are actually for virgin margheritas and tequila is considered an add on. Further, when I ordered a meal without meat or cheese, she asked if I wanted vegetables in my meal, never stating that this would charge extra. She also asked if I wanted soup or salad with my meal, again, never stating that this was not included. We were charged extra for the tequila that should have been included with the margherita, the vegetables ($3??), and the salad ($4). My meal was also topped with cheese when I specifically asked for it to exclude cheese.
The guacamole we ordered was essentially just mashed avocados and tasted as if it did not even have salt.
When we confronted the waitress, she kept referring to the menu and saying that we received those up charges because that information is in the menu (halfway down the page listed under details for a different item). She also stated, "what did you expect to happen when you ordered a soup as one of your meals?" (mind you, their bowls of soup are $10, nearly the cost of a meal). I have never had an experience at a restaurant where wait staff did not give a warning about an upcharge, especially after offering items to you themselves.
Manny did give us 30% off to compensate for his waitress's actions but that woman most should not be in this business, or honestly in any business involving customer relations.
If you choose to visit this restaurant, ask exactly what every single item is going to cost before you order, because your side (or even your tequila!) might be an upcharge even if your wait staff suggest otherwise.
Edit to add that my fiance got explosive food poisoning after our visit. He had chicken in his meal that likely caused this.

I noticed this restaurant after driving around the back side of the mall. I’m sure that back in the day this was a much busier area, but now there really isn’t anything over there. Manny’s exists as a relic of the past.
And that’s why I think their prices are too high. I’m sure they don’t have the ability to offer low (or even medium) priced options because they don’t receive enough business to afford the lower margins.
I decided to give it a try, just to see how the place was doing. The first thing I noticed was how there were no other customers here at lunchtime.
Starting off with an appetizer of THREE jalapeño poppers, I was already set back $9! And that was it for me. Nothing else on the menu was affordable. Plus, there is an additional credit card charge to get even more money out of you!
There shouldn’t be any shame in closing a restaurant because of changing times. Instead of price gouging to stay alive, they should just let the business go.

Went to Manny's for a lunch meeting. I wouldn't choose to go otherwise. The food was nothing special and the prices were too high.

We will start high and end low.
The atmosphere of the resturant looked and appeared nice and cozy, typical mexican restaurant vibe. The service was good.
We were the first seated guests, party of 6 at 11 am opening. The waiter was nice and friendly. The food was not great for typical Mexican, let alone terrible for the prices of this place. Fajitas did not sizzle as we all sat at the table and joked on that being reason people order them... queso appetizer was okay, came out in a tortilla, we had 2 servings both half way leaked out of the tortilla onto the plate. All the tacos were not great, semi cold, also did not come out with what was suppose to be served on top. Wouldn't be back unless our lives depend on it.

NEW REVIEW 6/10/25.
NOTHING HAS CHANGED or gotten better, it’s worse!
(Old review) I love Manny’s but their quality has slipped. Food use to be awesome and the drinks were quality but now things are slipping fast. Drinks are watered down, prices are too high, service is sliding and the margaritas are so cheaply made and weak. Manny’s do a facelift and come back to Eau Claire with a passion. One of your big supporters.

I used to love going here for the food but the last time I stopped there I grabbed the seafood lovers burrito and there was literally three butterfly shrimp in a small portion of fish in it the rest was overstuffed with rice totally not worth the $30 I paid for the meal I should have complained then and got my money back I'm just not coming back if that's the way they're going to treat their customers

Looks like it used to be good? Menu is strange assortment. Came because we thought it was Mexican restaurant and it had good reviews on my gluten free restaurant app. Well...we will not be back. Food was mediocre at best...veggies tasted like frozen bagged veg. The chips and salsa were the only good part, but they hardly bring you any. My fajitas were flavorless as were the beans and guacamole. Our server sneezed multiple times in a row, right next to the pass through window from the kitchen. I saw no attempts to be sanitary with her sneezing, and after all the loud wet sneezes, she went straight back to carrying things around. No hand washing! It was had to finish my meal after that, and I got a bit worried then that my food had been handled properly, and was celiac-safe. It was a Sunday evening, or we would have gone elsewhere. Disappointing for sure.

Food is very overpriced for quality served.
Service was lackluster and an overall bizarre experience.
Visiting the area and disappointed in our selection. There has to be better options than this place, my recommendation is to find one of them.
Skim through the reviews and look how the manager/owner talks to people, it’ll let you know what you’re getting into. Place was completely dead, I’m pretty sure they only make money by towing people from the hotel parking lot next door.

Been here several times in the past. It has always been good and this time was no exception.
We always seem to eat here, outside of the normal lunch/dinner rush. When we arrived Sunday mid afternoon, there were only several others tables of customers. Got greeted and seated right away. Our server was super friendly, and got us settled in with menus and waters. We immediately ordered some guacamole, which is fresh and chunky, with excellent chips.
We ordered some drinks, which included a couple margaritas. Our server explained that for only a few more dollars we would essentially be getting two more margaritas, so we took their advice.
We ordered several different entrees, including the special, Calamari Calafia (squid steak). Everything came out in short order, was hot, well seasoned and generous portions. Everyone was raving about the quality. There was a Burrito Bowl, Al Pastor Burrito, Al Pastor Tacos. My Calamari Calafia was outstanding. It came with a Jalapeno Cream Sauce that mildly spicy and an excellent addition to the squid steaks. I love calamari and this was probably the best that I have had. (Friend calamari can be chewy, and this was not).
An awesome meal, as usual. This is our go-to spot for mexican in Eau Claire.

So, I went back to Manny's for the first time in several years, and I probably won't be going back again. The "spicy" margarita was bland despite the jalapeño in it. I was, honestly, shocked at how little flavor it had. It essentially tasted like watered down tequila with a little jalapeño flavor.
The posole was equally bland, and my burrito was essentially flavorless as well. Honestly, you can get better food from at least four other places in town and pay less.
To top it all off, the service was slow and grumpy to the point that I debated not tipping, and that is something I would never typically even consider.

Not a lot as far as sides goes. Juat some rice. The free chips and salsa are small. Everything seems over priced for what you get. I think the place in the mall would have been cheaper and tasted better.

Pros: Immediate seating always. Great staff. So many unique fresh choices. Great decor.
Cons: too many up-charges. We ordered the quesadilla, which at any other restaurant would include a complementary salsa. We were told that if we wanted salsa, “it would be $2. No wait, $3.” We told her that is ridiculous and to please pass it along to her manager. She said she just works there. I reiterated again, please pass it along to your manager.

Would not go here ever again. First indication was the empty parking, second indication was the staff all sitting outside before we walked in. Third indication was the staff didn't seem to want to be there. Food wasn't the worst I have had but overall if there were negative stars from the experience I would say negative 2 out 5.

If I could give a zero rating, I would. I arrived at Home2 Suites at 12:00am after an arduous day of travel. I parked next to this large white truck in front of the hotel. The parking spot was not marked as exclusively for Manny's patrons. However, when I checked in, the hotel gave clear instructions to not park here because Manny's will tow my vehicle. This is a shared lot with the hotel. There is NO SIGNAGE indicating the spots are for the restaurant. The hotel added this advisory sign in their elevator. Congratulations Manny's. If you wanted to turn people away, you succeeded. I come to Eau Claire regularly and will NEVER patronize your restaurant, and I will discourage others as well. Mark your spots if you are that covetous over two parking spots far from your entrance.

When we arrived at 5:30 PM, perhaps it should've been a warning to us that the parking lot was empty. Upon entering there were three individuals at the host station, as our party approached we were greeted and asked how many were with us. We stated we made a reservation yesterday for 10 tonight at 5:30 PM, and that 8 Guests would be joining after all. Staff immediately brought our party back to an empty room with 20 chairs pulled out from the table. Without salt & pepper on the table, we quickly discussed the large party setup. When 3 Servers arrived to take our order, we were shocked we hadn't received water or been asked if we had questions. Instead, the Server wished our party a "Happy Birthday", and asked if we were ready to order. We quickly corrected the lead Server that we're celebrating a Bride To Be, and would like water and chips & salsa first. We came from a wine tour and had no reason to rush. We were told our chips & salsa would be served with our meals — IF we ordered entrees. An assumption we wouldn't? Or, a brash way to share their policy? Either way, it sent our group another warning, after another warning, after another warning. The three Servers took our drink orders, together, for 8 people — no one knew who to talk to, it was extremely confusing and took away from the hospitality of the dining out experience. Half of our party ordered in Spanish with one Server, while the other half of our table seemed to have a lead Server and a Server Assistant? Wish we knew. Our orders were accurate, and the female "assistant" (?) was attentive, and kind. The lead Server did not know the Draft Beers available, and had to leave during our order to check. Our meals arrived warm, but not hot. The two orders of fajitas were served in cast iron pans with handle mitts, yet the pans were easily moved with our hands. It was mediocre. Food was seasoned well, and this could've been a wonderful experience!! We were not asked if we'd like another beverage, or dessert. We were not given a reason to sit and enjoy our time, or spend another dollar, like we had planned and hoped to. Our tabs were paid, and no one was at the host stand to say goodbye when we exited. Underwhelming, and unfortunate — it was all of our first times there. We were celebrating a friend who left feeling disheartened.

AVOID! Sign outside shows margaritas (see picture). At 825pm. Am told we can't get margaritas too close to close. I ask what time they close and the bartender gives some big story about some tables in the other room. So we ask again because there was not a numerical answer in their reply. Then we are told 9pm but they can refuse service to anyone and they get a hostile tone. Will never return. Rude, false advertising, rush to close 35min early. We were not ordering food because they had hammered us with that question from the second we hit the front door. If I owned this place I'd immediately fire whoever was at the bar tonight. We would have easily racked up a few rounds of drinks and we tip.well.EDIT. Saw your reply. Your a liar. You said anything but margaritas because you already cleaned the blender. We were back at the hotel by 830. We walked into your bar at 825. You are flat out a liar. Also this proves none of your review replies can be trusted. If you want to know about this place just walk into the hotel next door and look at all the signs. Literal printed signs warning hotel guests of all the problems with the restaurant having their cars towed. If I had a restaurant with a big parking lot that is never full. And I am closed when the hotel is busy, I would be making deals with the hotel to share business. Instead Manny's has chosen to go to war with the hotel over parking spaces. This restaurant closes at 8pm. Yeah you can walk in until 9 but good luck getting anything but attitude. More worried about getting out early than doing good business. I can pour margarita mix on ice myself. If your blender is closed for the night @826pm then you don't get my business. We stay at the hotel next door about once a month and never consider Manny's an option anymore. For the prices you could eat for a week at home.

Latina visiting from Texas. Like any Mexican Restaurant this far from the border I had my reservations but I’m happy to report they pass the vibe check. Food was delicious and drinks were spot on. Granted I’m not accustomed to paying $17 for three tacos but bless their heart for bringing our culture and food to this side of the world. I’ve never ever considered visiting the Midwest but was suddenly presented with an opportunity to visit a facility here for work. The hospitality was beyond me, I’ve never met such kind people. Although I may never return, it was definitely a pleasure finding such a home away from home. Bottom line is, if you are looking for some solid Mexican cuisine Manny’s is definitely the place. Gracias! Y buen provecho a todos que visitan.

Manny's had a great look and feel to it. The food was really good and had lots of flavor. The Jumbo margarita was awesome but was excluded from the "all margaritas are half price on Wednesday's" so that was kind of a bummer to find out when I go the bill. I absolutely love the unique decor and warm atmosphere of Manny's. It is one of my favorite restaurants to go to.
I had the special which was halibut covered in shrimp and an amazing sauce. The piece of fish was huge and I made 2 meals of it. The waiter was attentive and friendly.
My only wish is that they would offer more sides. I would have loved a potato with my fish. I also love refried beans and they only serve pinto beans.
They have the best queso dip in town and the salsa is very fresh and delicious!
Update:
Last visit ordered the special on board from night before. They didn't list a price or tell us at table. The fish was dry. My friend almost fainted when she was handed the bill.

The steaks were a New York strip my husband's steak had a huge blood vessel in it, it about made me gage. The meals were $45 a peice. For the quality they're selling it's not worth the money. If I'm going to pay $125 for two people for mediocre food , I would rather pay a little more and go to Johnny's. We will never return. We have been to Manny's in La Crosse and Eau Claire over the past 20 years, maybe two dozen times. Burrito Del Mar and Seven Seas mostly and to consistently deliver on flavor is remarkable for the area. That sauce, mm. The shrimp ebbed and flowed with the times, there's too much ice in the margaritas, and you can see staffing issues from time to time but they hold it together and we leave satisfied.

We visted Manny's with a decently sized party while in town for a wedding. First impressions were okay - it was a clean restaurant with ambient music that wasn't overly-loud. However, the restaurant feels almost cave-like with how low the lighting is kept. Compared to the bright and open bathroom, it felt strange that it was so dark in the dining area. (If you're visiting for a date night, maybe the moody lighting would be more fitting . Not as ideal for a large family gathering in my opinion.)
The service was, in short, lacking. Due to the set up of the tables and the design of the chairs - our server had a hard time delivering items to our table. She reported that the chairs jabbed into her side/ribs when she leaned over to place items directly on the table. She mentioned this struggle multiple times. Rather than passing out waters to everyone individually, she handed them to my seventy-seven-year-old grandma and asked her to pass them around the table. My grandma was a sweetheart, and obliged. However, as the meal went on, it became somewhat annoying to pause conversations and assist the server with her job.
We're not high maintenance people at all and we didn't expect her to ram her ribs into the chairs. However, if the chairs cause that much of an issue, it should be brought to management's attention immediately so servers can serve and patrons can enjoy a meal without working for it.
There isn't much to say about the food other than it was also okay. Some family members gave their plate a thumbs up, but mostly our palates were unsatisfied. The server also entered in some meals incorrectly, leaving us to wait for extra condiments to be brought out slowly.
TLDR: Probably a decent place for a date night of 2 or 4 people, especially during Happy Hour for apps and drinks. Would not recommend for a larger party/family gathering.

We had a good experience but it wasn't flawless. Wait staff was very nice, enthusiastic when speaking to us, but very slow to actually come around. Perhaps the staff are stretched a bit thin? In any case we felt a bit ignored. The dishes were quite good but some dishes were under-seasoned and because there was no salt/pepper at the table we had to request it which goes back to that inattentiveness. Don't get me wrong, I prefer that a dish be under-seasoned than over-seasoned, but the fact that we had to wait so long just to get salt was a little upsetting. In total we spent over two hours on an experience that should have been far less time consuming. About $50/person to feel ignored and trying to keep up spirits makes it a hard choice to return, but we will! It's still a great restaurant. To be honest there aren't too many other options for good seafood in Eau Claire and Manny's does a great job. The stuffed scallops and blackened Ahi were 11/10! Outstanding dishes.

I went to Manny's because of the location (right next to where I was staying). I was hesitant because of their mixed reviews.
I can say, the bartender made a good mojito but the ceviche was the worst I ever had. More onions than seafood & the size of the onion pieces were extremely large.
Apparently there is "daily special" written on a white board when you walk in. However there's nothing on the board except names of dishes. No prices, or sign saying these are the specials.
This is the first Mexican restaurant I have been to where chips & salsa are not complementary untill after you order an entree.

The server was great and very quick, the Chorizo Queso was a great appetizer and the nachos were also very good. I got the Mahi Mahi fish tacos and they were amazing, I loved how seasoned the fish was and the presentation. The atmosphere in here is really nice and enjoyable. Will be trying it again

Very pleasant, relaxed, and calming atmosphere. Our waitress was very courteous, prompt, attentive, and she helped us to feel welcome. Thank you very much, Alyssa! We'll request to be seated in your area on our return visits. The menus are full of nice choices from foods to drinks to desserts. I grew up on the Gulf of Mexico, and I'm a big seafood lover. The food was cooked the way it should be! Sea Of Cortez Combo & Seafood Captain Style are the dishes we ordered. No complaints from either of us about that or any of the services. It's been many years since me or the lady has dined here. Not knowing each other in those times. She was kisses and hugs pleased at my choice for dinner this evening 🙂. One for the memory books fellas, If she's a fan of this kind of food. A spot to keep in mind for special occasions between us also. It was most definitely worth the price. Check it out people!

The atmosphere was amazing. Very authentic and comfortable. The food was very good and fresh. Good size portions. The strawberry daiquiri was very good as well as other drinks. I was shopping in Wisconsin from Minnesota and stumbled into Manny's for dinner. I will be driving from Minnesota to Wisconsin just to experience the fine ambiance and the beautiful surroundings.. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. I will definitely be going there again 😃

Such good food. A lot of the 1 stars are either old or from the hotel guests who are mad they couldn't read parking signs. This restaurant should have a higher overall rating. An absolute gem for Wisconsin:
We were boring and just got burritos, but they were SO good. The salsa, guac, and queso were also super tasty. Flan was fantastic, just make sure you get it without the chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Really detracts from such a delicious dessert. I was a little surprised and disappointed that things were so pricey, but you can really taste the freshness in the ingredients. We didn't order drinks this time around, but their selection of tequilas and margaritas looks excellent. I don't recall seeing any mezcal on the menu, but that would be an awesome future addition. Will definitely go back.

If I could give this place a lower rating, I certainly would. Our nephew drove 3 hours to Eau Claire to visit his Mom at a assisted living and arrived in Eau Claire, Wi. on Dec. 31st. at 1:30 A.M. at the hotel next to Manny's. He had his family with him. He parked at the hotel in an unmarked parking place and at 3:30 A.M. Manny's had his car towed away. (with meds. and clothing still in his car)
Both he and his wife had to work on Monday morning and he was told he could not get his car until monday A.M. He took a cab to shovel out his Mom's driveway. Out $250.00! for storage at towing place. I will be telling EVERYONE ....do not eat at Manny's or drink!
What a horrible way for anyone to celebrate a belated Christmas.

Tails remained on the shrimp fajitas. Had to pull them off before adding them to the tortillas. First time I ever saw that! Lots of veggies with little chicken and steak on the other $28 fajita order. Drinks were watery and diluted. Won’t go back.

Definitely would not recommend. This restaurant is obviously out to make people have a horrible day. We came out of the hotel in the morning to find out our vehicle had been towed by the restaurant. Apparently the red line in the picture is the dividing line between the hotel and the restaurant parking. There are no signs anywhere near the parking spot from where my vehicle was parked and most people would easily assume that spot is part of the hotel parking. Unbelievable a restaurant would be this awful. There needs to be clear and visible signs people can see in the snow AND dark.

Pulled into parking lot tonight at 8:15. Parked and some Mexican fellow driving a white pickup was bringing food out to his truck taps on my window and asks if I can read the signs. Says I can't park there cause it's not hotel parking. Hey Manny....I was coming in to your establishment. Unfortunately I left and will not bring another customer there again. 😕

Love this place!! I've only been twice so far, but hope for many returns. The menu is pretty wide, and has some different things that seem to be chef's creations here, that you don't see anywhere else. There are choices that are huge and filling and rich and delicious, but also items that if you not quite as hungry or watching calories. Plenty of fish/seafood choices too! Great eats. Its really good food, you won't be disappointed. And the bar is vast too, offering plenty of beers and drinks.
I think Manny's is a go-to spot for me in Eau Claire, for a special occasion or just with family/friends if we want a nice spot. Really like coming here. Gosh, I even got hungry just writing this review, because I was thinking of all the good choices on the menu, it made me want to go back and try something else. Also, one more thing, I'm very glad they are open 7 days a week. I like going out on Sunday evenings and Mondays too, and find so many places to be closed. Not Manny's, it feels like they really want to be there and serve and take care of you. I appreciate it, and like their open hours.

First time eating here and I absolutely loved this restaurant! The decorating style was rustic and warm and our server was super friendly and attentive. I am really sad to give this low of rating to a local business, but it is called for.
I was in tonight for dinner with friends tonight. Between the four of us, we spent over $200,on food and drinks.
We ordered 2 appetizers. Those being chips and queso and also chips and guacamole. I asked our server for more chips (as we ran out). The server told me that they are not allowed to give extra chips. If they do then the server has to pay for them personally. Otherwise the customer has to pay $4 for additional chips. $4 for an additional measly little basket of chips.
I am absolutely appalled by the owners choosing to do this. We spent over $200 and he wants to charge us $4 additional for a small little tiny basket of chips.
I completely understand that there are freeloaders that come into this establishment and may want to take advantage. However there are also good paying customers that value the business as well as the people that work there. I can't believe that the owner of Manny's has the audacity to treat loyal customers like he treated us.
It does make sense though that they are continually training new staff because the existing staff quits. I would imagine they quit over frustration having to work for Manny. How sad. I doubt I'll be back.

Visited Mannys in LaCrosse and loved it! Thought we would try Mannys in Eau Claire! Lovely place great food but the tap beer (Spotted Cow) was sour! When I took it back to the bartender and explained my concerns he was rude and refused to give me another beer! I asked who was the manager and it was the bartender! YIKES. We did refuse to pay for the beers which they were not happy with! Wonder when the beer lines were last cleaned?

Alright let me start off, the restaurant was BEAUTIFUL I absolutely loved it, the service was good very sweet lady, fast and efficient. The food was horrible, not only are portions bad but the taste was gag worthy one person puked another is fighting it down and for I my stomach is very upset. Let's not forget about that price, $22 (For one meal)?? I expect authentic Mexican Food not something a bunch of 3rd graders who are just starting to taste would make, and that's an understament... I'm not a picky person at all in fact I never complain about food from restaurants but this place should not be that pricey and high class AT ALL for such poor food and quantity. Keep the waiting staff and bartenders get new cook's and make it worth while.

The steak my wife got was mushy and was flavorless, not worth the $30. I got fish tacos and I swear it's just fish they bought frozen from sams club, then reheated. The flan was ok, but not worth it's $9. If you want authentic Mexican food go to Le Luna or Casa Margarita.

Place is beautiful, chips and salsa were meh. Salsa tasted like spaghetti sauce to me. I had the chicken fajitas and they were very disappointing. Too much black pepper. Rice was dry and lacked flavor and the beans were not very good either. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Over priced food in my opinion for what you get. I just wasn’t a fan.
