Hard to give a good review, when they don't have any you can eat. We have food allergies and they would not work with us. Told us that the only seasoning they had was salt and pepper. Didn't know how to make hollandaise sauce right. Major let down for the price. Only had one steak on the menu. We were so excited to go. Great place right in downtown Manitowish Waters. Accessible by boat on the chain. Food in the backyard is typical bar food but all good. Lots of labor so service is great which is unusual for the labor starved Northwoods. Lots of games...bags, beach volleyball, jenga, etc. Must stop here if you are on the Manitowish chain in the summer

Outstanding dinner last night,
Oyster raw, Rockefeller and Milanese's all delicious.
Fish fry crisp as well as French fry’s , definitely come back again for.
Wife salmon the best is north woods (her words).
Brother and I both add roast pork loin special, moist and delicious, homemade apple sauce was touched with cinnamon. Mashed sweet pot and roasted Brussels topped it off.
Nightly cheese cake with pecan crust with creamy and flavorful.
Alexander dessert drink was very good but prefer Ice cream based Version.
Service was Friendly and attentive, As well as the rest of the staff.

A group of 4 recently had lunch at the outside patio, ordering from the food cart. The overwhelming consensus of the group was that the food was awful. Walleye cheeks were really dried chips (no fish to be found) and the chicken wings were tough and inedible. The cheese curds were edible but also left much to be desired. Given the quality of the food, it was very overpriced. We would not recommend this as a lunch stop.

The seven of us had aa great time; pistachio crusted walleye was the best, as were the salads, schrimp, mac and brisket, and meat loaf. Service, wait staff, bartenders were all outstanding, friendly and helpful throughout. Thank you. We were able to make reservations at 5:30 for 6:15 after an unnamed supper club in Boulder Junction lost our reservation. Truly a win for us!

Overpriced, soggy/greasy calamari. Portion was small for price which was probably a good thing considering it just wasn’t very good. Beer/bloody Mary’s served in plastic cups despite the ultra wannabe urban atmosphere. Music a complete mismatch for the environment, more of a subdued club mix which would be at home in Vegas but not the northwoods. I get the vibe they are trying to create but they failed miserably. Bloody was decent though and the beer was cold so they get a couple stars.

We couldn’t have picked a better spot for our final meal in the North Country. We loved the menu and our choices (meatloaf, salmon entree and catfish special) were fresh and beautifully served. The online reservation system is not accurate. I reserved a table for 2 outside of the bar, but was given a table in the bar. The hostess informed me I couldn't reserve the table I wanted online...why have it as an option???? Instead, I was supposed to call to ensure I could have the table I wanted. Unfortunately, that set the tone for an unpleasant visit, especially since I was given a table in the corner--yes, enclosed by 2 solid walls. That being said, the bartender was also my server. Since I was not seated at the bar, those customers who were got her undivided attention--especially once it became busier. The food was so so, nothing spectacular.

Traveled to Manitowish with a friend for the first time -stayed at Voss’s birch wood Lodge. The owner at Voss’s recommended Manny’s and it was even better than expected. Our food was delicious. We loved our waiter!! Very personable and attentive. We spent some time in Manny’s Backyard - it was such a fun atmosphere! The outdoor bar was amazing and we loved the fire pit area but there was no one taking drink orders. That was ok but we would have spent some money on drinks otherwise. There was a very bad smell just beyond the fire pits which you might need to take care of. Overall, it was a great evening at Manny’s!

Very nice venue with an inside and outside bar by the lake. Seating was good but the chairs were a bit uncomfortable. Food was outstanding! The walleye and ribs were exceptional. Our best friends brought us here when visiting this past weekend and we loved this place. We ordered appetizers consisting of the cheese curds and cod cakes and found them both to be delicious. Our server was both attentive and knowledgeable about the entire menu. We appreciated the wood fire they had going outside and the additional fireplace indoors. My old fashion was heavy poured and mixed well. We'll definitely return our next time up.

Update.. We returned once again to see what had changed, and we couldn't of been happier. They had completely finished the outside section... adding a sand volleyball court, corn hole bag games, outside bar... etc. It was beautiful and well received to say the least.

Manny’s is such a treat in the northwoods! We just experienced a lovely dinner on the enclosed patio with our extremely kind, informative, and attentive waiter Jim. We have had nothing but delicious meals here, and tonight did not disappoint. We all had something different… meatloaf, salmon, chicken piccata, and pecan crusted walleye, and there was not a bite left! There was, however, one bite remaining of homemade cheesecake because we were so stuffed from our meals! Our week in Manitowish was fantastic and now topped off by this really wonderful evening with incredible food and great atmosphere :)

Very beautiful setting by Rest Lake. Dined here twice with our two small shih tzus on our weekend trip to the UP. First night we ate on the main house patio. The 3 of us each had the walleye fish fry. Service was good and server was very friendly. Fish was tasty, although fairly small three piece portions. Came with so-so cole slaw and a ton of crinkle cut (looked like store bought frozen) fries which were good, but fresh fries would have made the meal much better. Next evening ate in the backyard which was fun but food was very expensive and food was some very good (flatbread and walleye bites) some very yucky (Korean chicken panini). Ice cream with fresh berries was good but didn't taste homemade. Berries consisted of blueberries.....adding strawberries would have been better. Ordering on their online system wasn't difficult, but we left disappointed in the meal (chicken was way way overcooked on the panini). Didn't complain because it took 30 minutes to get the food. The place was beautiful, though. Kept our rating from being only
2 stars.

So, this review is for Manny's Backyard only. Manny's Backyard is one of the most unique places I've been. Truly an intriguing place.Quite complete with a great outdoor bar, food truck, performing stage & seating/dance area under roof/shade sails. I ordered the stuffed porkchop and loved it! The walleye and beef stroganoff were enjoyed very much by my sister and brother-in-law. New Year's Eve!
The Wisconsin old fashioneds were tasty (love them when they're truly muddled!) My bib salad was huge and delicious, and both the lobster tail and beef Wellington were awesome. We had wonderful service from both table servers and bartenders. We were seated by the kitchen door, so it was a bit noisy and busy, but we had a great first time experience, and will be back! (We're sorry we tried to use our Food Fight gift card, but did not know you were no longer associates. Our card folder had you listed. It was gifted to us in September, 2023).

Visted Manny's for New Year's Eve 2024. There was a special menu for the evening. We ordered pistachio-encrusted walley and a chicken dish (can't remember the name). Each was more than outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

my food was great, but I was happy not to have ordered the mac 'n cheese because it wasn't macaroni. It was l8 guini and it just wasn't like it used to be with julianned chicken. We love Manny's. Please look at adding some gluten-free items as wel as gluten-free ways to serve the usual items, like gluten-free pistachio topping for the wonderful walleye.

Then the food was yummy my boyfriend and we're sharing off eachothers plate lol he got the smoke watermelon glazed meatloaf and I got the prime rib. After dinner we bopped out to the live music out back. There was a band member that was playing a harmonic. My dad played that alot growing up. So it was nice hearing that again. Overall. Loved it! Definitely in the top five of our best places to eat around home. The cocktails were creative and had such depth throughout the whole drink and the food also had many layers of flavors. We loved the atmosphere inside, so pretty and we stepped outside after we ate to take in the chill vibe out there. So beautiful! My husband and I have dined here in the past and we brought our kids and grandkids this visit. We absolutely LOVE the backyard atmosphere! It's beautifully landscaped with an awesome area for kids to play. There was a strong odor coming from the septic system next to kids' play area. We really disliked ordering from phone app. It'd be nice to have a wait staff given the upscale atmosphere. We ordered the brisket sandwich, double cheeseburger, and the smoked margarita pizza. The crust on the pizza was SO Soggy and cheese was rubbery. At the high prices this restaurant charges, I'd expect better quality food. We hope the Manny's management team will take our review into consideration. We really believe the backyard experience is a unique aspect but could be superb if there was a wait staff and changes to the quality of food served. An addition of fish of some kind to the menu would be good too. Even fish tacos would be a good addition.

Great place for sure (both inside and out). The salmon is incredible and likely reflective of the entire menu. The outdoor space is a destination! Inside bar is a bit too small but I understand space is limited. Only negative is my Willett & coke was $14. That's a few bucks too high for the location and experience. I will be back for sure!

The background music was grating and made me want to leave sooner than I normally would--maybe something a little more on the dinner music side would be wonderful. Also missed having the option of your wonderful cheese burger. You could charge more for it than the lunch menu or outdoor menu but make it available. This is common in California where we are from. Otherwise had a great time. We do enjoy the outside too--great for the little kids. It just happen to be pouring rain.

Our server Ashley was great! Food was very good. We had 8:15 reservations. We were informed that our table wasn’t ready and we could go to the bar for a drink. We did. I got a text 10 minutes later that our table was ready. Hostess told me that her manager just wanted to make sure we are here….huh? We’ve been here. Told us that the people at our table have their bill and haven’t paid. So we wait. 30 minutes later we approach the hostess stand and the manager is annoyed that I’ve asked, proceeded to check a table and says sure I guess I can seat you now. 3 empty tables in the room we sat in. She was not polite, no apologies, nothing. Again our server was great, bartender was great and so was everyone else we encountered, we shouldn’t have to wait 40 minutes for a table when we have a reservation.

Had such a wonderful time at Manny's with my family. We went two night and had great food, service, and drinks both nights! We did have a hard time finishing our entrees because the appetizers were just that yummy, but you can bet that we brought those entrees home and finished them the next day! The espresso martini was so wonderful and yummy! I really enjoyed the filet mignon and the poke tuna appetizer. The outside seating and games available really added to the whole experience and made it feel more fun and intimate.Whatever you decide to get, it will be yummy and you will have great service. It was raining when we arrived. We were a little early for our reservation so we decided to have a drink on your patio. We were going to sit at the bar and all the bar stools were wet. We ask the bar tender for a rag to wipe the stool off. She said she didn't have any. She didn't offer to get one or to do anything else. It would be real easy to have some dry towels available when it is raining.

Completely wonderful experience!!
The hostesses helped us find and situate seating in the bar so we did not have to wait over an hour to eat. The atmosphere was modern, comfortable and inviting. The lighting was neither inquisition level or so dim that the menu needs to be in braille; and the music was ambience- not noise to yell over. Natalya and Ryan, were so welcoming and friendly. Ryan suggested a modification to one of the craft mocktails, instead of my usual Vodka press, and it was so delicious that my dinnermates followed suit. After inquiring about her accent, Natalya shared her experience about how she arrived at Manny's from Jamacia. She was very straight-forward about all menu items. She is candid, friendly, smiles a lot, and works with joy! Almost everyone there looked like they truely enjoyed working there, and they all pitch in, including the chef, Alex, who surprised us with his honesty about how he prepared the delicious meals when we asked. And the meals...! They were amazing! The pistachio encrusted walleye melted in your mouth like sea bass. The shrimp scampi was a balance of delicious flavors over flat, thin and perfectly done pasta. The Primavera with shrimp showcased a pasta the size of thread smothered by delicious, deep roasted tomatoes. Overall, hands-down, the most delicious meals I have had in a long, long time. I will definitely be returning to Manny's!
