The food and service at Margaritas Mexican Grill were excellent — flavorful dishes, friendly staff, and a lively atmosphere that made for a fun night out. Everything from the fajitas to the enchiladas was spot-on.

That said, the bathrooms were a major letdown. They were in noticeably poor condition and really took away from the otherwise great experience. For a restaurant that gets so much right, it’s something they absolutely need to pay closer attention to.

Still, the food and hospitality earn them five stars — just hoping next time the restroom upkeep matches the quality of everything else.

Maybe it was because we came for lunch on a Monday right after the 4th of July holiday weekend, but I was surprised at how few and far between we seemed to have our server stop by to check on us. We came in around 1pm. We expected to be out of the restaurant in about an hour (as a long lunch time). We did not get out until 2:30. We were waiting for our check and then to have it picked up with our card to be processed. I got an appetizer platter for lunch as there were no lunch specials and I did not want a large dinner-sized portion. The appetizer was rather expensive, but, I figured the variety of appetizers would be nice. I was not impressed and there were no spices or sauces to dip the items into the dish but it was kind of other bland side. The server never came by for me to ask for any type of dipping sauce or Cholula. We may go back another time closer to the end of the week to try it out again. Hopefully, it was just a fluke and I will be a little more wowed.

I'm seeing a lot of great reviews recently, but I had a different experience. Since the place has margarita in the name, we thought that was a highlight of the restaurant. Literally the worst margarita I've tried. It was greenish sprite. The food was below average, not terrible, but was pretty bland. Service was excellent, our waiter was perfect. The host was mean mugging our table making us feel like she wanted us to leave. Overall, there are dozens of Mexican restaurants in the area that are infinitely better.

This place feels like home. Super attentive and welcoming staff. I've never had to ask for a refill or anything. They are on their game.

I had come in towards the end of one of their lunch happy hours and was charged regular price for a drink. A week later without any prompting or comment they comped me a drink. Not only did they remember me from over a week ago they kept their word about the mistake without me pressing the issue or even remembering.

My friend and I love to visit Mexican restaurants throughout the Jefferson and Waukesha county areas. We have to say that our favorite restaurant by far is Margarita's. The service is always great and helpful. The food, what can I say, it is truly authentic Mexican food and their portions never leave you hungry. The ambiance of their restaurant is welcoming and festive. During the warmer weather they have outside dining with a large type garage door to be open, allowing the fresh air and expanded space to the outside dining. I highly recommend this restaurant for a wonderful Mexican meal and experience.

First time at the new location & I did not have a good experience. A coworker did not have good things to say about this place but I went there anyways with 7 family members. The server was also not very smart/good at her job, she stood behind me without saying a word, not until I turned around and asked her what she needed she asked what I wanted to drink..not to mention we waited 30+ minutes for our food & she forgot my extra sides on top of my forgotten meal. The margarita tasted watered down, and our server forgot to bring it to us in the first place. Our two steak dishes lacked flavor. I order a combo with ground beef. I got two items with shredded beef and one item with chicken. My son ordered a combo with all chicken, but one item had shredded beef.
