My son brought carryout to my house for dinner with our family. My order was wrong. I ordered Italian style cod but received a dried up BURNT, seasonless piece of cod instead. My side was a baked potato which was also dried up and burnt. An absolutely terrible dinner and a total rip off!

7 oz of meat on a Italian beef makes allegations made by the owner. It was three pieces of meat; never again. I drove 15 mins to get this food. I just asked for some more beef; he states “ you want a double” no I do not I want an Italian beef not bread and three pieces of meat.

I’ve been to a lot of places in Racine, this is one you should not go unless you want a piece of meat (they forgot the sweet peppers) and bread.

Horrible service and horrible food. I’m Italian and I’d rather go to a McDonald’s than this shady hole in the wall.

Food is fantastic, drinks are cheap, but service is so so. Never terrible service, but you can tell who the regulars are.

Edit 2023: We are those regulars. Gretchen, Tina, Kristen, Jodi, Mario... They're all the best. We are there at least 2-3 times a month. We love sitting there and playing the dice game. Make sure to visit before Christmas. They spend DAYS decorating. It feels like home.

We have been going to Mario’s for years. The food is kind of hit or miss, you have to know what to order. The Pizza Bomber is a great sandwich and I have never been disappointed with that, their Saturday night rib special used to be my favorite, I’m sad they got rid of that. Their Italian food is good too. Their prices are fair I will say that, this is mainly the reason we keep coming back. The waitress is kind of abrasive (if you know what I mean) she comes off rude but she can be friendly if you get to know her. If you have a party larger than 4 don’t expect them to move the tables for you. You will be doing the moving. The main reason for my low service rating is because the food took forever. We were there on a Sunday night (after 7pm) there was hardly anyone eating there. Of course the bar was full (hence great atmosphere) but I believe we were one of a few tables occupied. We waited over an hour for 2 burgers, a salad, and an order of stuffed shells. I think these are relatively easy dishes to make and there’s no reason it should have taken that long. There was also a group that came in and got served much quicker than we did, almost like there was some preference there. Put it this way, it will be a while before we come back.

Mario's Italian sports bar is one place that may be overlooked in Racine so if you have not tried it yet I highly recommend you do so because the food is so good you will feel like you are dining in a Italian restaurant and not a pub if it weren't for the obvious bar atmosphere which is one reason I usually don't dine in unless I plan on having drinks with my meal but if I do they offer a wide drink selection with a good variety of mixed drink options from their specialty menu plus the staff is always friendly and welcoming. The food consist of your standard Italian options like lasagna and different pasta options but they also offer other food options like Pizza, burgers, Pizza burgers lol fried chicken, and different sandwich options and needless to say it's a sports bar so if you're trying to catch the game this is a good place to do it.

We tried Marios for the first time. The house Italian dressing was tasty, as was the bread. The serving portions are very generous, but the items we tried were fairly bland. The lasagna was pretty decent, good ingredients, but lacked flavor. The ala vodka, the same. Couldn’t really taste much difference between this sauce and the marinara. The alfredo sauce was flavorless. We were disappointed. We ordered carryout, and when we got home realized the alfredo item was actually marinara with chicken We called to let them know, and they corrected it quickly, though it was quite a drive to get there and back. They were apologetic and polite- they handled it well. Not sure if we are just used to much better Italian spots or if they just had an off night. Not sure if we will try again or not.

Drinks are cheap. Guess that makes up for the food. They advertise perch and blue gill fish fry. It depends on the week your there, Perch one week and blue gill the next. Wifes clam chowder was watery. I had deep fried cod with fries. Got like a 1/3 order of fries compared to other bars in the area, fish was ok but nothing spectacular. My wife had shrimp with a baked potato, the potato seemed to be reheated, her bread with the dinner was ice cold along with the butter being hard. Everything very sparse. Had a gift card, but would not go again.
