We have been here many times in the past no complaints. We went for dinner on 10/7/25 ordered enchilada with mole. Mole was terrible I even asked if it was mole. Waitress said it was. The music was brain numbing. Too loud and asked what the heck it was. Waitresses just smiled. Every selection had same pounding beat. We were very disappointed quite a change from our last visit. Is there new management or what.

Went there the other day and had a total of just under $36 and I tipped to make the total an even $41. Got a charge on my card saying the total had been updated to $45. The service was decent but nowhere near good enough for me to tip over 30%! Pretty disappointing. Will never go back.

I’ve been here several times and today was the worst experience. I sat at the same table and ordered the same food and drink. Unfortunately, our server had more important regulars come in. The whole staff raved over 2 at the bar and a few in a booth. This took away attention to my booth. I ordered food and the couple at the bar and booth took presidency. I talked to our server at the end and he said it was because I wanted something for free. I had a conversation asking about the buy one get one special. I ordered the house special margarita and asked if I order can I get the lesser one still for free. He said no, I said work with me please laughing. Now, at the end of the meal accusing me and saying I only wanted something for free. I also asked during the meal if there was a new cook because the chicken did not have the same flavoring. He said no, maybe they forgot something. Worst experience I have had. I normally come in atleast once a month but I guess that’s not enough.

I ordered tostadas dinner with no meat but avocados instead the beans were freezing like cold as ice on the tostadas. I took a bite and spit it out. Overwhelmed with the amount of cheese. The side of rice and beans were cold as well. The salsa was gross. Tasted old and let in the fridge for way too long. Ordered ceviche and had to ask for Valentina sauce which is fine. The bottle looked old the cap wouldn't stay on and it was dry. The only thing nice was the server. I took two bites and asked for a to go box and threw it away when I got home. Had to ask for red and green salsa for an upcharge. Which is fine. But they both were hot as far as not ready to eat not spicy. Just the worst experience I ever had. They also charged us a fee to use our debit card but added a fee. Which was not the tip. Yuck

After I left the restaurant, I noticed that the bill was raised another 4% on the cash price, then 3.5 more on the credit card. Not really honest billing

Awesome dinner at Matteo’s Mexican Grill, Pilgrim Plaza, Germantown! This place is a hidden gem! Server Juan was professional, friendly, outgoing, helpful with menu choices and always had a smile. He was very respectful of my vegan diet, informing me what options would work for me and offering a substitute for a side item. Food was amazingly seasoned - super flavorful! Portions were of good size - took some home! Decor was beautiful and fun! Will definitely visit again!

To be honest, the food was everything but mexican. I ordered pork in green sauce, the server brings the food, and the sauce on my order you would think it was green, but no, it was bright red. I asked the server what it was, and he said "Pork in green sauce." The taste was of a sweet tomato sauce rather than green tomato sauce. I ordered the charro bean that tasted like baked beans. My son ordered the Chimichanga that was soft like it was submerged in cold oil instead of being crunchy and hot. I will definitely never ever come back.

We were greeted by two friendly hosts/staff, were immediately seated, and a nice waitress took our beverage order. Complimentary chips and salsa were a treat and helped fill the time gap to deliver two draft beers. Once we placed our food order, all moved smoothly. The perch fish fry was well proportioned, and the cod were flaky and delicious. The prices were very reasonable.
If you are in this area, make sure to stop and enjoy Matteo's restaurant. 😉 The key is to get there early, to beat the crowd.

Great service and cute decor but the food was terrible. The warm chips and salsa were good but our food came out in just a couple of minutes which led me to thinking it probably wasn't fresh (reheated) or was rushed. I ordered a chimichanga. It wasn't crispy and there was shredded cheese inside that wasn't melted and the meat was lukewarm. The black beans were ok but the Spanish rice had no flavor and was also room temperature. My husband had gringo tacos, his food was also cold. We really wanted to like it because it was so cute. We were passing through and wished we would have stopped somewhere else for dinner.

We tried Matteo's for breakfast after church today and it was absolutely fabulous! Great server, and great food!! I had the Bene-Burrito. It was delicious! Hubby had the breakfast tacos and he said they were good too! My dad had a skillet and said the chorizo was too spicy for him. Hubby and I will definitely be going back and I will be visiting some Wednesday night for dinner and their BOGO margaritas! Ohhh and the horchata was the 💣!!

My family frequents Matteo’s. Dine in and pick up both have been on point for flavor, consistency and quality. That’s hard to find.
I feel that being in the business myself makes me a bit more picky when it comes to where I frequent.
Their menu is well rounded with familiar items as well as items for the adventurous at heart like myself.
My recent stop to pick up food to go, I had the pleasure of getting to know Alex who has served my family on multiple occasions and locations. Thank you Alex for being such a great face of Matteo’s and La Cabana!

I hate giving poor reviews, but my lunch had none of the joy or zip of Mexican food. It’s like they decided that Americans can’t deal with spicy anyway so just give them the bland food they prefer. I specifically asked for the spicy enchiladas and I don’t know what I got. No sauce, no spice, too much cheese. I know, I should’ve talked with the waiter. Maybe their regular chef doesn’t work at lunch. The lunch business isn’t what it used to be. Please note, some others in my group were satisfied, but their taste runs toward mild.
