This is a very nice local restaurant and bar, with the bar being completely separate.
I happened to stop in on their pasta special night, which was very good and reasonably priced.

My partner and I were on an overnight to the Milwaukee area and stopped in here for breakfast. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The restaurant layout was open and airy. We were greeted and seated promptly, and coffee and water appeared before we even had a chance to ask for it. We ordered our meals, and to our surprise our food arrives within minutes, even on a busy weekend morning. The food was delicious, and the server brought us some sort of cinnamon cake that was also amazing.
We don't travel through that area often, but Maxim's is now our go-to spot!

Minor update: Maxims is our go-to restaurant, we've been there over 1,000 times (literally)!!! The staff is super attentive. The bussing crew is on point, too. Pablo, Jesús, and the lady they have, remember your beverage order and ask if you want it besides water. The whole hosting crew is hands down the best in the business ( if only i can remember their names, so shout them out!). Food is great, menu is pretty big. Maxims is medicine, i go whenever i need a pick-me-up. The only thing that i wish they brought back the potato skins and cheese curds on the appetizer menu, but I can't complain otherwise.

Four of us on 6-26-2025, had the Corn Beef Hash with eggs, not good, it didn't look like corn beef hash everything was in a cube shape , a bitter taste and two people did not feel good in their stomach afterwards. I thought the bitter taste was from a meat tenderizer on the meat. Otherwise we ate there many a times with excellent results maybe we should of said something at the table. Next time we will order something else.

Came for breakfast on Sunday and the food was so delicious, we came back for dinner on Wednesday.
For breakfast we had 1) French toast breakfast w 2 eggs, bacon, sausage links. 2) Nutella crepes with scrambled eggs, fruit, bacon, sausage links 3) Scrambled eggs, toast, bacon and sausage links.
For dinner Appetizer of Deep Fried Mozzarella sticks w the best Mariana you ever tasted!! Then for dinner 1) Turkey & Avocado club w onion rings 2) Mushroom Swiss hamburger w fries. I usually rotate between the pork chops, liver and onions, gyro, and the open-face cranberry turkey sandwich — all solid. There’s always parking and usually an open seat, though it fills up fast with an older crowd.

I made reservations for my elderly mother's birthday party with just immediate family members. I asked if they had a quieter spot in the restaurant if we could have that for the 10 of us to celebrate at. They went above and beyond in giving us all a table that comfortably fit all of us. In a relatively quiet location so that we could have a good birthday brunch. Our server went above and beyond making sure that everyone's cup was filled and even volunteered to take a group picture of us. He was the best! The food was perfect and just as we were desiring. The whole experience was very pleasant and I really appreciate this restaurant for that experience. I plan to come back again just to have brunch or lunch.

We haven't been here in 10 years. Always been a run of the mill typical Greek joint with way too many things on the menuS, we got 3 when we sat down. I'm giving 5 stars to Ted our server....attentive, on top of it, awesome. Had the tuna melt ($15)...just not good...Sysco canned tuna with a little celery thrown in, the pink- type- cat food reminiscent stuff. Awful. Hubby had chicken melt, much better but not great, also $15 . Nothing was homemade or from scratch. Took a mini banana cream pie home and that was flavorless with more whipped cream than filling. Might come back for Ted at breakfast, hard to screw that up but at these prices it has to at least be GOOD.

This isn't focused on unique foods or beautiful plating. This is just...good...food! And it looks good, too. And very affordably priced. I don't like writing a review like this, yet can't deny that as a longtime (10yr+) customer of Maxim's the service, dining experience and now even the quality of the food have all deteriorated a little at a time. First after covid they stopped serving warm fresh bread to dine-in customers. At they same time, there was a noticeable increase in prices. I get that, as business people we're all facing increased costs and trouble finding good help at a fair price. They have some long-term employees that are great... one Hispanic bus/table worker who's there for many years does a great job, he's always friendly and hustles as hard as anyone I've ever seen working in a restaurant. However, now the food AND kitchen service decline have become BOTH lower quality as well as attention to detail. Tonight I ordered two fish fry dinners to go. While the order was waiting at promised time at the register, upon arriving home I found one short one piece of fish - they come with 2 pieces, I paid an extra $3.50 for each for the third piece of fish... finding one with 2 one with 3. And to further detriment and disappointment- one was ordered with fries, one with potato pancakes. The potato pancakes are little more than Hash Brown patties, not tasting like any potato pancake I've ever had but disctingly hash browns.

At just under $40, this may be my last time there.

Second time here, all 3 of us were very happy with all choices. Crazy extensive menu, hard to choose! Large portions so lots of leftovers. Clam chowder was better than expected. Spinach pie was delicious & filling so I brought my generous sized side salad home. Soup & salad were included w/the meal. Server kept our coffee cups full. Got some bakery to go & my sister offered to pay for mine as a birthday present. Cashier heard & surprised us by not charging for mine. Definitely recommend & will go back when in the area.

Our Wednesday morning Bible study group visits Maxim’s for lunch regularly and I have been going there for years. The food is very delicious and they have an excellent menu. I have had breakfast and lunch there and I am always satisfied with the choices I make.
The breakfast skillets are great and I had the Lasagna this week, (it was the best I ever had)!

My girlfriend and I went there for lunch. I hate leaving bad reviews, but my smashburger was dry and they only had ketchup at the table for a condiment. My friend had ordered pancakes and they were overcooked on the bottom so she couldn't cut through them and they ended up kind of falling apart on her fork. This may have been a one-off I don't know I've only been there once. Our server was leaving before we were even finished with dinner and no one came back to check on us after she left. The atmosphere was pretty good they had booths and tables it was open and airy and they had some beautiful quotes written on the walls. Plenty of parking, including handicapped for free in their parking lot. My girlfriend and I had a great time chatting in spite of the bad food and we probably stayed an hour after we finished eating catching up.
