Amazing experience at Mazatlan! Immediately provided with chips and salsa upon sitting down. The patron margaritas were massive and delicious. The food was to die for. I loved my chicken fajitas and the guacamole was amazing as well. If i lived close by i would be going to eat here at least twice per month.

The atmosphere and decorations are very colorful and delightfully mexican. I highly recommend Mazatlan to mexican food fans or those interested in mexican food.

My ribeye was tough and gristly and super well done. It came with literally a teaspoon of guacamole on some shredded lettuce, and some of the blandest Mexican rice ever. The chili Ellen was a disaster. A half pepper with some mucky imitation hamburger and a teaspoon of cheese sauce. No breading, cheese, or anything resembling a chili relleno. The waiter saw everything on the plate that was not eaten and didn’t ask if it was ok; I’m sure he already knows how bad the food is so didn’t want to hear. I hope I can leave a pic of this “relleno”. The salsa could use some cilantro and spices. Truly lousy Mexican food. I hope this saves someone the experience. No one in our party likes the food. I can see why the place was empty on Saturday at lunch.

On Wed. 8/6/25 ate dinner there - found plastic fishing line-like material in my taco salad. The bathroom area smelled like mold and there was no soap in the women's restroom and no one around to tell. The bill for 3 dinners, 3 sodas and small quacamole was $84 - way too much!! July 18th we stopped in about 6pm sitting outside. We received water and a menus, then 15 minutes went by with no one acknowledging us. As for the food it terrible, cheese not melted on enchilada, taco shell was soggy and meat for both was so bland. Our guacamole came after our meal and chips were cold. Then to top it off we were overcharged. We will not be gone back.

Came in a little after 8pm (they close at 9pm). Ordered the two choice "You pick" and got the Chimichanga and Taco.

Soda was good
Salsa was good
Rice and Beans were good.

Chimichanga was 1-star. The tortilla shell lacked any 'crunch' whatsoever. The ground beef lacked any flavor.

Taco was 1-star. Tortilla shell had a stale crunch. Not crispy, not soggy. Again, ground beef lacked any spice or flavor. At least Taco Bell's meat has some flavor.

Food was delivered to my table incredibly quickly. I guess there must not have been a backup at the microwave. (Maybe they don't use a microwave, but the meal wasn't much better than I could have gotten for a quarter of the price if I went to the frozen isle at Pick N' Save.)

Server was conscientious and stopped by my table prior to taking my order. After the food was delivered, I never saw her again until I walked up to the cash register to pay.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a margarita while shopping. The place was dead which makes me question what was up since Delafield itself is pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. The salsa was very tasty but the chips seemed over cooked. The most disappointing thing was the margaritas were literally a mix poured from a bottle into a glass with ice. I expect some skill to be used making my drink when I'm in a "authentic" Mexican restaurant.
Times are changing, prices are rising and if you'd like to stay in business I would suggest putting forth a little more effort. I don't live in Delafield but I sure know how people think in that area and they have some pretty high standards.

When we walked in it was dark, smelled like funk, and we were the only two people in the place. The tables were sticky so I asked to be seated at the patio. It was better but not by much. We ordered a margarita (overly sweet) and Nachos Supreme. They were wet! Like swimming in water at the bottom of the plate. The chips were so soggy that they couldn’t be picked up. We each got in about 5 bites and had to end the meal. Actually the whole place was gross. Service was fast though. Our waiter completely vanished and we had to let some guy know what we had so we could check out. Years ago it was a nice restaurant. They have such a great location that it could be an upscale Mexican restaurant. I would say new management is badly needed.

Ordered two chicken fajitas and one beef. Meat was chewy and had clearly been reheated. Tortilla chips that came with take out order were old and stale. Should have known when they said take out would be ready in “10 minutes” there would be lack of freshness. We were there within 15 minutes of call.
We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and we were very disappointed in quality of food with our take out order. We mentioned one family member cannot have dairy in the makings that come with fajitas. We had to wait when picking up order since they had to repackage the sides for that order.

I know this sounds petty, but it is worth mentioning.
Over the years, we have eaten there many times and always have had a nice experience.
However, we stopped there yesterday for lunch, and it wasn't a pleasant experience.
As we sat down, a gut came over to ask us if we wanted some chips and salsa. We said yes, and he brought over chips and salsa with a VERY SMALL TEA CUP SIZE of guacamole.
The food was good like usual and I left a 30% tip. After I paid, we got to leave, and the guy came up to say that we forgot to pay for the guacamole. I said, "You are charging us for that little cup of guacamole ?" It was so small that you maybe could get a few chip worth. It was in a cup that was in a tea cup size cup. My partner is from Peru and she told them that she couldn't believe that they were charging us and also that we didn't order it. He didn't care. I asked for the manager and he said sorry you will have to pay for it.. which was $ 8.00. Once again, I know it sounds petty. But after over $50, you think they would make it right. Nope ! Reminded me of the scams when I was traveling in South America. So, I paid the $8.00 for that little guacamole. But I also crossed off my $12 tip.. unfortunately, I no longer can patronize a business that acts that way.. once again, I realize it is a small petty thing. But it is worth mentioning...

A great location for a Mexican restaurant in downtown Delafield, I had no idea it was even there. The inside is decorated like your classic Mexican restaurant and for a Saturday it wasnt that busy. We were seated right away by the friendly staff, though when we tried to order drinks, I think our waiter only spoke Spanish. Great for authenticity, but challenging for us visitors.

I ordered the chicken flautas, one of my favorites. They were good and covered in cheese, even better, the side of rice was average. We would definitely stop in again, I'll have to brush up on some Spanish.
