Updating my review.

McDonald's reached out and asked that I go to the link provided to let them know what had happened.

I followed the link, made my report and was contacted via telephone by the manager of this store.

She told me that the manager I had previously spoken to didn't even write my information in the book. They asked for my name and address, listened to me provide this information and couldn't even be bothered to write it down.

I did finally receive a letter in the mail and four coupons for any combo, morning, day or night.

While that was nice enough of them, the letter I received had an extremely upsetting apology letter. The letter states how sorry they are that my expectations were not met.

Nobody's sorry that my burger (the patty itself) was in PIECES, they're sorry that I expected it to be in one piece.

Nobody's sorry about the ketchup that was all over the inside and outside of the wrapper and nobody's sorry that my shirt is stained.

They're sorry that I expected it to be neatly assembled and not falling apart.

I expected what I paid for. I gave these people my hard earned money and they're sorry that I expected it to somewhat resemble the photos they advertised.

So yeah, I'm still quite upset. I won't even go into how the 4 replacement meals turned out, as clearly MY EXPECTATIONS are too high.

So my original review stands. Find another McDonald's. Really.

I'm seriously DISGUSTED in this store.
DONT even waste your time. Keep driving, there's another McDonald's on Hastings Way that meets expectations.

One of the most Northwoods-themed McDonald’s I’ve ever seen, and overall a really nice location. I’ve only had one issue — staff once told us to sit and wait, but after 20 minutes we found out they had marked it as a to-go order and seemed upset that we didn’t pick it up. Outside of that, I really enjoy visiting here. The touchscreen games are a fun feature, but unfortunately they’re not very accessible — if someone is sitting at the table no one else can play, and they’re not handicap accessible for children in wheelchairs or those unable to crawl into the booth, which really sucks.

I was asked to pull up to the third window to wait for the food. It’s been over 20 minutes and then I called Them and they say they’re waiting on the hashbrowns when over 30 cars have past obviously there’s been hashbrowns in those orders. I don’t know why they would lie now my food is going to be cold.

It’s AJ’s first day today and he is so polite and respectful very good at his job very clean establishment. My daughter just dropped the ice cream all over the floor and he cleaned it up respectfully with no problems. Must go here to get McDonald’s definitely will be back for more very polite staff. Everyone is very respectful here.

On baseball tour this was bus stop. Was able to use MacDonalds app. Had. Smoothie which was well prepared tasted great. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Nice clean and bright sitting area.

Multiple occasions this location just doesn’t know how to deal with mobile orders. They acknowledge it at the order window just fine… and then at the pickup window I have two employees and managers asking me a dozen times what my order was in stunned confusion. “Did you pay for it?” “Yes it’s a mobile order.” “What’s the number” *Gives number* “Ok, what’s in the order?” - kind of defeats the purpose of using the app. As I’m explaining this to 3 people at the window, I watch ahead of me an old man in a construction vehicle being brought my child’s happy meal. I know exercising just an ounce of common sense that this old dude on his lunch break doesn’t want a Happy Meal might be difficult for kids these days, but I’d encourage them to give it a shot.

Finally, receive my bag to find that my kids drink and a sandwich is missing.

The new design evokes a rundown industrial Park, the new play place has no legit slides, however, the cheeseburgers are artisanally constructed to be half cheese, half not. I didn't order that, but you can't deny the artistic freedom their artists are given. Also, when I asked for "no onions" I meant "no onions," but I understand the confusion.

A local here, out of all the McDonald’s here in Eau Claire this one is the worst. You have a 75% chance of them getting your order incorrect or giving you the wrong order. Been in Eau Claire for 20+ years and this is the only one I always have issues with. Doesn’t matter if it’s a big order or small order, employees and managers just suck at getting orders right. Worst one in Eau Claire.

Typical McDonald's that is very busy. We did have a hard time finding a clean table. In the kid area there was a kid standing on a table were people eat. Not really the locations fault just poor parenting as they thought it was funny.

I always order my fries with no salt because they always put too much salt on the fries, so I ask for salt packets to control the amount myself. We got up to the window and a guy handed us our food and drink, we then asked like always for a couple salt packets, and he straight up looked at us and said “FOR WHAT!?” My husband told him for our fries. He then went to grab the salt packets and came back and asked “out of curiosity, why do you order the fries without salt then?” I was taken aback, and didn’t expect that, and my husband told him “because you guys put too much salt.” I am just astonished on how customer service is now a days! Just pure disrespectful. Does he realize it could be because of health issues and some people may not be able to have salt or only so much salt. I didn’t catch his name but he had a different color shirt on “may even be a manager”

Terrible customer service. Waiting 20 minutes for my curbside pick up. Attempted to ask two female employees where mine was as they came to give another customers order, they made eye contact with me and ran away. The manager came out to give another customer their food, I said something to him and he said “oh they don’t speak English, I’ll try to go get it for you”. No apology and still had to continue to way for my food. If you can’t communicate with customers properly then you should not have a job in customer service.

Clean and highly functional play place. The service was much higher than other locations. The store was really clean. The play place was high end and clean. Also, the play place was highly active with the wee-ones. Didn’t see bad behaviour from the kids like at some locations. The parents were engaged and not just looking at their phones… :)

The boys then brought the order and the fries were cold already so it must have been let set somewhere. And then we had to ask a second time before the boys brought us cups for the drinks. I understand that carry-ins are not allowed but hear me out. My mom and I come to this McDonald's at least 3-4 times per week. My daughter gets pancakes, milk, and my mom gets pancakes, sausage, and a large iced mocha. We spend plenty of money here. I don't like any of the coffee here so I always stop and get a latte from Starbucks. Today, 4/12/25 at 8am, I was in the the play place when the manager (who hadn't been in to say hello or say anything friendly) came in and very sternly told me that my Starbucks coffee was not allowed and that it needed to go back to my car. While I do understand the policy, I spend ENOUGH money at this establishment and did not appreciate being talked to rudely and that was the only thing the manager had said to us the entire time we were there. I will absolutely NOT be back to this place. I don't need to spend more money on a shitty coffee drink. Thank you but no thank you.

Didn't get the 'toys' or the 'minecraft box' for the specialty "A Minecraft Movie Big Mac® Meal" or A "Minecraft Movie 10 Piece McNuggets® Meal". And got food poisoning, threw up 3 times since eating it. all while being charged 40$ for a dwarfed big Mac, cold nuggets and frys. This was the killing blow for me ever going or recomending mac dons.

If you don't have the app you need to get it bc you save so much money when using the app. Very easy to use too. Almost always get a free fry or $1 fries! Right now they have 10 nuggets for $1 also Big Mac meal for $6! There's nothing to lose by downloading the app!

Avoid this location, they have the worst customer service. 2 years ago I have this location 5 star review for their great customer service. I put my online order in, and then parked in spot 4 and waited about 10 minutes before not receiving my food, the car that parked next to me 5 minutes later got their food so I checked my order on the app to find out it says it was already delivered. I waited another 10 minutes thinking it said it was delivered because they had just packed it and were on their way. After 20 minutes I finally call and they finally get the order put together and brought out but I'm still on the phone with the manager because after 20 minutes of waiting for McDonald's in my opinion they should have discounted or refunded for the inconvenience. Well the manager argued and raised her voice over me while I was still talking until she hung up. Guess I'll have to give Hastings a try because I'm done with the Gateway Drive location.

Placed an order online had to wait 10 minutes for three items, to be brought to my car after I had gone through the drive-through to pick up. Apple pie ice, cold and frappe made much different than any other McDonald’s. Stingy on the extra space drizzle. Manager was was less than kind when I brought in the apple pie indicating it was cold. He hosted when I asked for a refund.

I know I know "if it's so bad why do you keep going?" Because I should be able to and it should be a good experience. Unfortunately, no matter the location, it is always something. Not to be one of those people that says "well I've worked fast food too" but it's true and I could never imagine doing such a bad job and feeling like I still deserve a paycheck. Regardless of whether or not it's fast food or any other job, people should still take pride in their work. I can't even get a complaint to go through on the website and I 100% believe it's intentionally difficult to get it to work. Everytime we stop at this location they always screw up our order. Last weekend my husband ordered a triple cheeseburger with bacon and they put it in as a quarter pounder with bacon and when I went back up and told them about their mistakes they gave me a refund for the quarter pounder with bacon and charged me for the triple cheeseburger with bacon. I asked them why I had to pay again for their mistakes and not mine. And he said well if you want your food you have to pay for it we don't just give it out for free. Tonight we stopped their after shopping and I ordered everything through the drive threw and they tried to tell me I didn't order 4 drinks when I know I did. After we got home and opened the bags they forgot a 6 piece nugget and when I tried to call they kept hanging up on me. I will NEVER got back!! The play area is not cleaned like it should be just yesterday while my daughter was their with her older siblings she stepped in ketchup, the told me their was globs of it all over the floor, none of the tables in the play area were wiped down.

First time in a while that everything was super good! I asked for 2 McChickens with extra mayo and a Medium Fry. Fries were hot and fresh and perfectly salted. McChickens did not have too much mayo like a teen playing a prank with the extra mayo by putting way too much. Those were hot and fresh too. Now that McDs is so expensive, everything should be made when ordered to make sure it is hot and fresh. Good job at 3:30pm 3/1.

So this is a place I will never come to again... The fish sandwiches were by one,Get one for a dollar. I ordered 4 and 2 large fry and it's still came to 20 fricking dollars. The cheapest thing for them to buy which are the French fries, were 8.50 for 2 large fries. I don't think so... I said screw it and I just drove off. I will not pay $20 for 2 meals.
