Update: A new manager has taken over. And, he is very down to earth. I know the elkhorn locals and frequent fliers are a very particular bunch. But, this gentleman is trying his best and seems genuine. Be reasonable. Mcdonalds is not our only restaurant in town...

If you’ve ever felt frustrated with this McDonald’s location, you’re not alone, and you’re not powerless!

This store, owned by the Bucciferro Family franchise group, has shown an ongoing pattern of poor customer service, long wait times, missing items, and complete lack of accountability, not just at the Elkhorn location, but across multiple stores under their name.

I’ve personally tried addressing these issues through proper channels, spoke with management, called their franchise number (every extension goes to voicemail), and even left a polite comment on one of their social media posts. It was deleted. Not responded to... deleted.

What’s worse is how they treat their employees. I personally know people who work at this location, and I’ve seen how little support and respect they get. Leadership from the Bucciferro Family is absent, dismissive, and disconnected from the very values they claim to uphold.

If you're a DoorDasher, I highly encourage you to report issues with this store using the in-app Chat with Support option. I’ve already filed a formal report with DoorDash corporate regarding excessive wait times and order issues. They confirmed it has been received and that they are monitoring for further complaints to take action if the pattern continues.

The man that took my order was very efficient and friendly but it all went down hill from there. I paid and pulled up tp the window for my order. I was directed to pull to the side and they would bring my order out. Waited twenty minutes before they brought it. You would think after that amount of time it would be fresh and hot. NO! The fish sandwich was like warm at best. The fries, totally inedible. They were cold, rock hard and tasted like grease. In six years, not ONCE. Not even by accident, have they gotten the order right! There's always something missing or wrong. Today..I thought I was at the wrong McDonald's. As someone that works in the food service industry you always make the order if it came in before the time it actually ends not because you just didn't do it and then refuse!!

The breakfast shift members are usually friendly and efficient. Drive thru and dining in; they are nice and helpful.

The dinner shift staff are terrible. The first strike was when I brought my family inside to eat, and a staff member was sharing, very loudly, a personal sexual story in great detail. I never complained. We just got our food and left.

This last and final attempt at dinner, I went through the drive thru. A mistake was found after I got my receipt, a simple drink mix up, easy fix, I thought. I asked if I could get it changed, and the person in the window visibly showed his annoyance. Then he dropped the drinks into my lap and laughed. Obviously I am done going there but I am sure the staff will be happy about that, one less customer to bother them on the job.

The owner of this location should be embarrassed by how their dinner shift staff treats the local community, but I guess they don't care as long as their pockets stay full, right? Nothing is going to change. It's better to just avoid this location altogether.

The bun’s of course weren’t placed on evenly at all so that was kind of annoying but no biggie. The annoying thing was we didn’t get our drink and without a coronated drink, I can’t eat food like that because I have GERD and I’ll start hiccuping (painfully) and can’t breathe well (hiccuping while typing this). Quality is poor and burgers/sandwiches are stacked sloppy and carelessly. Why do I have to re-assemble my food?

Once I had a fly in my orange juice and didn’t notice until I got home. Repeatedly I get to the bottom of my coffee cup and it’s full if coffee grounds.

First off, I usually don't rip on restaurants, I know it's hard. So I hope they read this so they can improve themselves.
Food was ok, but mostly cold. Fries were half filled. Was given multiple cracked cups, no lids out in the fill station. The soda machine had water coming out all over while you were trying to fill your cups. The ketchup was empty. No one was watching or helping people at the front counter, had to yell to get someones attention. And tables needed a good cleaning.

What a night a d day difference between Wisconsin and Illinois McDonald's. This restaurant was exceptional in all aspects from the food to the cleanliness of the bathroom. They did not slop on the lettuce and mayo like in Illinois McDonald's. They took pride in what they were doing for customers not like Illinois McDonalds which are below standard. Usually incredibly slow, and everyone there, with the exception of a random few, acts like they hate being there. One time, I ordered on the app and parked in a designated spot to wait for my food to be brought out. After waiting 18 minutes in that spot, not counting the time from when I placed the order on the app and told them my code and parking spot # so they knew I'd arrived, and watching at least 30+ cars go through the drive thru behind me, I went inside and was only then handed a bag. I left and made it to my driveway before realizing that they had forgotten half of my food and my coffee. Thankfully, we live 3 minutes away, but I had 4 hungry kids and 2 hungry adults waiting on this food so we could go to the pumpkin patch that morning, (which we were late meeting people there after this 40 minute debacle). I went back to get the rest of our order and just went inside. When I told them what I was missing, I had to still wait for it and wasn't once given an apology or even a thank you. Oh, and upon getting home the second time, we were still missing a sandwich. Management is clearly lacking, as this example is the worst experience I've had here but definitely not the only one with excessive wait times, missing food, and poor attitudes. If it wasn't so close to my house, I'd avoid it completely.

This is the second time this week that an item I ordered and paid for was not given to me.
