Apparently, this is how they prepare McDoubles now. Sauce is all over the buns, so you can’t even pick it up. Apparently, a medium fry is now a small. I don’t know if this is retaliation from the employees due to the lack of reading comprehension, because I corrected them on the simple spelling/annunciation of my name while taking my mobile order, or if they’re just actually incompetent at putting things together. Regardless the customer service today was awful.

Went through the drive thru at around 9:30-10:00. Spun back into the drive thru because we realized we forgot a drink and they didn’t give us our sauce, manager came out confronting us, asking if there was a problem, because his employee said something and we weren’t responding. I had it all on video and the employee didn’t say anything, the only thing that was said was the auto voice box. He then began to give us attitude and continues to sit there and say “is there a problem.” Guess there have been some kids ruining their “time” within the drive thru. That doesn’t mean accuse every random group of people. We’ll stick to the one by marathon park.

I’ve been here a few times over the past 2 months. After putting him in my order, sitting down and waiting, I noticed the tables were never cleaned all three times that I went there, so washed the tables myself. The manager of this location should be monitoring this and making recommendations to clean up the tables. The employees did see me clean the tables, but nothing has changed. Prices keep going up, but the service doesn’t get any better. It’s strange how things work.

Prices are higher at this location (Rib Mountain) the Volkman St and Campus drive locations are 3.99 for a large fry and rib mountain is 4.29.

This rings true for nearly everything on the menu. Large Drink? 1.49 -> 1.89

Food came out hot and perfect and every staff member was great except the lady manager. The drive through was very long granted, but that doesn’t mean the manager should have been yelling the way she was. It is, uh, definitely a McDonald’s. Asked for a water in the drive-thru and the person who answered me was clueless. Then a manager took over and said “we’ll do it this time, but next time you need to come into the lobby” despite it being closed all the time. Also, stupid rule. I worked at McDonald’s, too. If they order a water by itself, you can just not ring it up if it won’t let you finalize the order. That’s literally what I did and it had zero negative effect. Old fries despite being the only car there (at night, closed lobby), no napkins in the bag, shorted on sauces that we paid for (charges 20 cents for 1oz of sauce, LOL). One manager seems to think her attitude isn’t apparent. Overall, seems like a location filled with incompetent staff. In my opinion, go to the other Wausau locations.

The food was standard McDonald's selections. The floor staff kept the dining area satisfactorily clean. There is a small play area for children. Also a table with chairs for parents and children to color. The location is much larger than a standard McDonalds. Even so. It was somewhat difficult to find parking.

This restaurant has a kids play area which are getting harder to find. It's not huge but it has a drawing table with a large roll of paper with crayons for kids to draw. I thought that added a great touch.

Didn’t have a good experience the last couple of visits. I had gone on a Friday night after work and ordered 2 McChickens, a 10 piece nugget meal, 2 medium fries and 2 McDoubles. Unfortunately I didn’t check the bag so when I got home, I realized the 3 medium fries were missing. However, they gave me the extra sauce that I paid for.. for the fries. Wasn’t able to call until Monday or Tuesday as my mom was admitted in the hospital and it slipped my mind. When I did call, I was asked if I had the receipt. Explained I don’t have it with me but at home I probably do. Was put on hold and then told they couldn’t do anything because of how long I waited to contact them. Didn’t feel like explaining my mothers medical emergency to them but I paid for the fries so I was getting annoyed that it almost sounded like they didn’t believe that I didn’t receive them on Fri. I told them I have pictures of my bag to show there were no fries (in case they tried to treat me like I was lying..). Placed me in another hold and eventually came back to say they would give me the fries. Okay cool. So I go to the location a few a minutes later. Manager told me just to tell the cashier that they approved the 3 free fries. I ordered a bunch of other items but at the end, the cashier only rang up 1 fry instead of 3 and tried to quickly give me my total. That was actually the 2nd time they had tried to rush me during the order when I wasn’t finished ordering. Anyways, I corrected them and explained I should have the 3 fries for free per the managers convo a few min ago.. and they responded with “THREE ALL FOR FREE….?!” Very rudely. I said “..yes?”. I felt uncomfortable at that point like I was being judged or not believed. It took a few min for them to ring up those 3 fries and eventually the manager came and told me to pull forward for my total. I didn’t make a fuss about anything by the way. I was respectful and kind. I paid for my other items, pulled up to the 2nd window. The man did not smile or greet me in any way, but he also shoved the bag at me. The first cashier didn’t greet me or smile either. I get that this is fast food and it was slightly busy but I worked in food service for 6+ years.. customer service is very important to say the least - regardless of how busy it is. I felt like I was a burden to all of them.. even though they had originally caused the issue by not giving me the correct order. Should I have checked the bag originally? Yes. Should I have called sooner? Yes. But I wanted to at least get a refund or get the fries.. things happen, life happens. But at the end of the day, customers should not feel “unwanted”

Working in food service, I understand there is daily cleaning and check lists to be done, but it shouldnt interfere w customer service or the timely manner of getting food. It seems that this happens more often btwn 5-9 in the evening.
I have tried to give this Wausau establishment chances, but I would literally drive 10 minutes out of my way to a different location for the purpose of customer service and efficiency.

Young man was very accommodating with my 4 year old grandson and I. He's a curious kid and cashier was polite and talked to him, not down. Play area is a bit small but most fast foods have nothing for smaller kids. Loved the coloring table idea for at least 6 kids/parents. Ice cream is/was always delicious! Only issue is the cramped ordering area....it is immediate when you come thru front door entrance.

I got an iced coffee with light ice and extra crème and they messed up everything they added more ice and less cream and i was basically drinking chucks of sugar and caramel. Today, June 24th 2023, was the worst service I've ever seen. This "fast food" place asked us to wait for our order in the pickup stall area; that was fine. After that they had us waiting for 20 minutes until I decided to go in and ask what was going on. I spoke to the manager and she checked and our order was already completed nobody brought it out to us. Then upon opening it we saw that all the fries were turned upside down. This McDonald’s tends to be pretty slow compared to the one in downtown Wausau. I also usually receive the worst assembled sandwiches from this one. This particular sandwich I opened as soon as I parked in the parking lot (lobby is always closed). After paying $3 something for a tiny double cheeseburger and extra now for mayo I don’t expect it to come out looking like this. At $15 an hour employees should care about their jobs and the results the customer sees. Hopefully changes can be made to this fast food joints final presentations.
