I will rate 5 star but truth is there was a 3 hour wait and we weren't able to wait that long. Maybe we'll get in next time

I went once when I was a kid. Since then I have tried about 50 times, no joke, to go back. Never been able to. Even went at 3pm and still had a 2 hour wait. Went at 5pm and they said 7:30 at the earliest. Love the food just not the wait. Honestly, it’s not even that special for the amount of hype and wait.

I was so dissatisfied with the service here that I created a google account to give this review. I would like to start off with the fact that I waited an hour and a half for a table. The atmosphere is so horrid, I could barely breathe because of how small and packed the dining room was. The server was out of it completely, does not have any social awareness didn’t even introduce herself or ask how any of the food was. Didn’t refill my water even once during my meal. The steak was SMOTHERED in black burnt butter. When I implied I didn’t enjoy my meal she didn’t try to offer any resolution at all she just stared at me and walked away. I spent 150 dollars on food I didn’t even want anymore. Absolutely would not recommend to anybody looking for a good supper club experience.

What a unique place ! We arrived at 3 pm , the line gets long fast and they open at 4 pm. Awesome salad with house dressing ( everyone in line suggested it ) so good ! Also a little warm loaf of bread to share . We both had steak , lobster and the hash browns ( baked potatoe or steak fried available also ) It was a fun splurge for us and we really enjoyed the " supperclub" feel .

I wanted to love this place. The atmosphere is exactly what you want for a WI supper club! Four of us stopped in after a round of golf across the street. Drinks & service were great. The real problem was the cook on our steaks. We all ordered med rare. They were all hockey pucks unfortunately. For the price and wait time we were very disappointed in this.

This was my first time here. My husband has gone before while he was up north snowmobiling. Yes the wait is long but the food and service is top notch. We got to know the owner and the story behind the restaurant. Had my first Wisconsin Old Fashion. Thanks to the bartender/owner he made me 3 different variations to find one that I truly liked. If you’re ever up in the Northwoods, be sure to stop!

We ordered steaks and one shrimp entree. Steaks were cooked perfectly and were excellent.

I think my expectations were too high. The tailgating before 4:00 was fun. The service was great. I enjoyed the salad and hash browns more than the steak. It was cooked perfectly but didn't have any flavor and was very tough. The scallops were okay.

Two people had the chicken that couldn’t even be caught with a steak knife it was so bad and overcooked. mentioned it to the waitress they were going to bring two new entrées. We waited and waited and waited. Finally, we told him not to bother, but they brought it anyhow and it was edible, but still not that great and still a bit overcooked the fillets were good. My New York strip steak was just a hunk of meat with absolutely no flavor. I tried to salt and pepper it, and it still had no flavor. The side dishes like the hashbrowns and the old-fashioned were very good. This is probably the last time I will ever go to this restaurant again. they’re living in the past they need to get better food. Definitely not worth an hour and a half wait not even worth a five minute wait. Find somewhere else. if you do make the mistake of going, bring some chairs or sit at one of the picnic tables, outback that was very enjoyable. It was basically a picnic and then we had to go inside and suffer through the restaurant. The appetizers and drinks we brought were fantastic.

The menu says steak medium rare is a warm red center. All four of us ordered medium rare. It came on a hot sizzling plate which must have kept the steak cooking. We all felt our steaks were overcooked. We ordered 2 ribeyes, one 7 oz tenderloin and 1 T-Bone. The flavor was good but very disappointing to have them over cooked. The scallops and shrimp were really good. Large portions of all accompaniments and the salad was good. A free dessert was offered for an anniversary celebration. Wait staff was fast and friendly. We had heard this place was worth the hour and a half wait. Some said they waited for three hours. We arrived at 6:15 and were seated at 8. We expected to wait and didnt have a problem with that part. After eating we all agreed we would not say its worth the wait.

I proposed to my wife here 40 years today. Today is our anniversary although she passed away 24 years ago. I thought it would be nice to have dinner back where it all started. The war axes at the hostess stand thought otherwise. It’s Friday and they’re busy, I get it. I offered to eat at the bar and she told me it would be after 9 before they could serve me. When I said that was fine she responded that they wouldn’t be able to serve me tonight. I’ll find somewhere else to eat. She on the other hand has to continue to live her sad miserable life.

Wow. Zers. I’ve had my fair share of Wisconsin steaks like the really good one in Madison named after a Midwestern weather phenomenon, but this place hit at another level.
We went on a Friday night and that turned out to be a great move. While the hordes were waiting hours for supper club and tavern fish fry, we were able to scoot into two bar seats while we waited about 35 minutes for a dining room table.
This place does one thing exceptionally well — steak. I ordered the NY Strip and my wife got the filet. It came out searing flippin’ hot and was a production in of itself. Mine was cooked perfect (medium rare) and served with a salad and potato. I opted for hash browns smothered in cheese and since I love steakhouses with steak toppings — I was delighted to get grilled mushrooms and onions on my Strip.
A top five all~time steak for me. I cannot wait to get back here.

The draw of McGregor’s is the tradition, experience, and service. If you’re going to line up before open bring your tailgate accessories (chair and drinks) and be prepared for the earliest arrivals to have sent a designated representative so the line may grow at the front closer to open. (And if you’re sending a designated waiter, buy that person another drink when inside! :) )
The solo bartender deserves a medal for doling good drinks out timely and working with the patrons waiting for tables.
Bread came out piping hot and crispy. Salads are a nice starter but agreed with other reviewers it’s an iceberg lettuce based salad dressed up with bacon bits, croutons, and crunchy pretzel type bits. House dressing was a garlic ranch. Ordered a 7 oz filet mingon and ribeye. The filet was tender and cooked well but if you’re looking for your seasoned, Chicago style steakhouse flair, look elsewhere. The ribeye wouldn’t be a repeat order based on cut and lack of seasoning. Had an added order of broiled shrimp on the side of ribeye and this was this guest’s favorite part of the meal being seasoned and cooked well. Ordered steak fries and baked potato as sides which were pretty ordinary. Saw several orders of hashbrowns so these likely are the popular choice of potato.
Prices were fair and overall pleasant meal. A recommended experience for families who are open to applying a vacation mentality in waiting and if you’ve been missing out on that large family holiday get together vibe for a meal.

McGregor's is a quintessential North Woods experience.
EXPECT TO WAIT.
Their wee kitchen can only turn out so much at a time, and I noticed one stove is dedicated to heating the sizzling platters your steaks come out on.
That, in conjunction with 13 tables, limits the turnover.
Having said that, the drinks are well poured, the staff is friendly, the food is great, and the people watching more than makes up for no TV to stare at in the bar.
They are also installing a new patio area, not to eat on, but to make your wait more enjoyable ( see 'people watching' comment above).

We were all a little disappointed in our first trip to this supper club. The noise level was loud and the food was ok. The walleye was bland and the steaks seemed to have gotten mixed up as far as doneness. We are happy we were able to finally eat here but it's most likely a one time affair.

@McGregor's BB: Do NOT let other establishments chase you away!! BB's is not other restaurants and others are not BB's!!
Patrons: I've been coming here since I was a teen in mid 1970's and the food is just as good now as it was then!! Do not trust other 'newer' restaurants to serve the same quality food!! Also at those 'newer' places, there's a 50/50 chance you'll get snubbed!!
I'll stick with what I know is awesome!!💜🙏💜

We Had dinner last night at this old school supper club. It was exactly what we expected- great food, great people and atmosphere! My fillet came out sizzling on the plate. It was cooked to perfection. I had ordered my hashbrowns extra crispy and that’s exactly how they came out. I had the onions added on top, which made it even more delicious.
While we were eating dinner, a few other tables were celebrating birthdays, and the whole restaurant chimed in to sing happy birthday! If you’re looking for a supper club experience, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Ok, this is an admittedly rah rah review. For 30 years, we've included Blink Bonnie in our Northwoods ritual. The place is small, crowded, with a smoky kitchen and long waits to get a table. But the people are friendly, the bartender makes great old fashions and Manhattans, reasonably priced, and they know how to do a steak. Served on a sizzling platter, smoking hot yet juicy pink, impossible but perfect every time. Lots of people get the tails, I don't. I think skip other combos or add ones, such as shrimp or the grilled mushrooms, the latter just drowns the meat. The meat is finished with butter, which bubbles on the platter. I prefer the plain hash browns and transfer them over to soak up that butter and fry a little more. The menu is no nonsense. Pick your steak, they'll roll out a salad and bread, then that beautiful plate. Enjoy.

Waited 3 hours for a table but drank plenty of brandy old fashions while waiting. I don't remember much of the meal because of how many I drank... mac & cheese bites were great, get cheese on your hashbrowns, and steaks are delicious but could be more seasoned.
We were the last round of people getting served for the evening so our server was a little tired and not super friendly but that's understandable.

Where to begin. I don't understand the concept of arriving an hour before the establishment opens to stand in line for a meal. We told the hostess we had a party of 8. She tried to split us up in two different tables. And not evenly
One table of 3 the other 5. What was she thinking? The food was fine. I've had steaks with the same quality. Salad could have had more greens than croutons. Our server was NOT friendly AT ALL. I just wish the great nor't woods would try to get into the 21st century. This restaurant reminded me of a depression era. I was wondering if mobsters were going to show up with machine guns

My family has been coming here since the 1970s. The ambiance and vibe are exactly the same every time we come here. Few establishments invoke such timelessness. Walking through the front door is akin to walking into the past. You're instantly reminded of much simpler times. Each sense is rattled upon entrance. The chatter in the dining room and the bar, the taste of the delicious old-fashioneds, the sizzle and smell of the steaks being brought from the kitchen wafting through the air. There is simply nothing else like it.
Personal recommendations: 10 oz filet and lobster tail combination with the hashbrown side and the "House" creamy garlic dressing on the salad.

Nestled in St. Germain, Wisconsin, Blink Bonnie is a culinary gem that left us thoroughly impressed. The anticipation built during the one-hour wait was instantly rewarded by the first sip of their signature brandy old fashioneds—a perfect precursor to an extraordinary dining experience.
The menu boasts a symphony of flavors, featuring highlights such as the succulent walleye, perfectly cooked filet mignon, and decadent lobster. Each dish was a testament to the restaurant's unwavering commitment to quality ingredients and expert preparation. The creamy garlic salad dressing, with its delightful blend of flavors, was a memorable addition that elevated the entire meal.
One cannot discuss Blink Bonnie without mentioning the sizzling steaks, which were a true revelation. Cooked to perfection, they exemplified the pinnacle of culinary artistry. The sizzle, the aroma, and the melt-in-your-mouth tenderness created a sensory experience that lingered long after the last bite.
The traditional supper club ambiance added a nostalgic charm to the evening, enhancing the overall dining adventure. While the hour-long wait tested our patience, the superbly crafted dishes, coupled with the inviting atmosphere, made it unequivocally worthwhile. Blink Bonnie stands as a testament to the enduring allure of supper clubs, delivering not just a meal but a memorable journey for the taste buds.

I hadn't eaten at Blink Bonnie in a decade but had fond memories of the delicious steaks. What an incredible disappointment. We ate here last week and the meal was so terrible I doubt I will ever return.
First we sat, parched & waiting at our empty table, for 30 mins while waitstaff, bussers, and the hostess walked right past us & ignored us even though our table was right in the middle of the room. This after standing outside waiting for over an hour! The table seated after us had their steaks before we ordered anything more than drinks!
Old fashioneds were excellent. One salad was made incorrectly. Onion rings were burnt. The cheeseburger was ridiculous, the patty was maybe 3 inches in diameter and almost 2 inches high. It was impossible to eat & the bun to meat ratio was way off. My niece said the accompanying fries had no taste.
We ordered 2 ribeye & lobster tail combo dinners. What they did to our ribeyes was criminal. Both ribeyes were terribly underdone (Mine was purple & ice cold raw, not the medium rare I ordered. The other was rare to medium rare instead of medium.) Both were completely tasteless. They were grey on the outside, zero browning, zero flavor. The waitress was clearly annoyed I brought the raw steak to her attention. I didn't have the steak returned to the kitchen because I knew it would come back well done. There was no offer of comping the appetizer or offering a free dessert for our obviously screwed up expensive ribeye steaks.
One hashbown was so burnt it was black & the waitress just brushed it off as how people like them. I like crispy hashbrowns but this was a charcoal briquet. The lobster tails were just ok, and, of course, they don't give you clarified butter. The best part of the meal was the bread, which was excellent. That's a sad thing to say about a 3 person meal costing $250.
90% of my ribeye is in the freezer. I'm too cheap to throw out such an expensive steak but I really don't want anything to do with it. I gave the remaining half of my so-so lobster tail to the dog. He got the cheeseburger too because my niece rightly refused to eat the leftover half. There are way too many excellent supper clubs in the northwoods to waste your money at Blink Bonnie.

The steaks are second to none & the Old Fashions are muddled to perfection. Old style charm and great people.

Best steak in the Northwoods. Be prepared to wait. Get there early, I'm not kidding, but it's with it.

This quaint, cozy shack hides a fantastic place to have a steak. Pricey, but worth it. Try the NY strip with mushrooms. You won't be sorry!

Had excellent dinners of the most delicious Sizzling Ribeye Steaks with friends celebrating both of our 39th & 40th Wedding Anniversaries. A Wonderful family owned Supper Club who treated us as family. Our long time experienced server was Fantastic as always. The Complimentary Anniversary Cheese Cakes was such a Surprise and very well appreciated. A True Pearl in the Northwoods!

Only restaurant I've walked-out on. By far the most over-rated, and low-effort place I've ever seen. Comic Sans menus, splintered chairs, 40$ steak. Embarrassing to take a date to.

Blink Bonnie's was as busy as we suspected it would be but our wait was only about 20/25 mins. There were 4 of us & we all loved our dinners. I had the Cod Nuggets with fries. The atmosphere is extremely loud in the dining room but still enjoyable. I'd recommend this supper club.

Food is always excellent. Steaks come on sizzling plates. Salads are very tasty, as are the side options. Waitstaff is outstanding & personable. The old fashions are pretty tasty too. Expect a wait, but we'll worth it. This is a must stop in the area.

Aggressively average. For a place that is known for it's long wait times and supper club experience, I expected better. The $50 tbone I got was a fine cut of meat and was cooked correctly but it had no flavor. Maybe this place was better in the past but it's really not worth it anymore

Ask the bartender for a deck of cards and 4 whiskey old fashions . Grab a table in the bar while you wait for a great UP North Experience of an amazing steak in the dining room overlooking the great outdoors.

Be prepared to wait...only 11 tables available. They open at 4pm and people wait in line before hand. No reservations accepted. Once your name is on list, you can wait at bar or wait outside. People bring their lawn chairs and coolers knowing that they will wait! The wait is TOTALLY worth it!! I had filet and shrimp..excellent. i recommend the house dressing for your salad...so good! We will definitely be back.

Was all hype, due to being one of the only steak restaurants in the entire area. Also food was very over priced and tasteless. Nothing served here is ever seasoned! When the meat is plated, hot oil is poured over the meat and scalding serving skillet. Very oily and tasteless. Never going back. Do not recommend.

This is a place for steak, ribeye, filet, strip steaks they do it all. Food comes right off the grill and is served still sizzling on a metal plattet. We had ribeye and they were outstanding. Don't miss out on the old fashions either.

Best supper club in Wisconsin. You WILL wait for a table, but that's part of the experience. Get a brandy old fashioned from the bar, and you won't mind waiting. They mix a mean drink and do it quickly. (You know this place is quality because they have a cribbage board behind the bar that you can ask for and use while you wait to be seated.) When you get a table, the service is guaranteed to be excellent and quick, but not so quick that you feel rushed. Every salad dressing is good, but the blue cheese with crumbles and creamy garlic are family favorites. They also bring out warm, freshly baked bread that's to die for. Then there's the meat. Worth every damn penny. Most of my group gets the 7 oz. filet, and we have one who gets the ground sirloin steak burger. The steaks come out on sizzling trays that smell like heaven. And they taste like heaven, too. Best steaks in Wisconsin. For a side, the hashbrowns can't be beat. Overall, this is the type of place that I'd drive all day just for the meal and the experience.

Blink Bonnie is a small restaurant but the food is amazing! The filet mignon comes out still sizzling and is so tender. The bartender and wait staff are wonderful. You need to get there early but it's worth the wait!

We heard everyone and anyone rant and rave about this place for quite a few years. We finally gave it a try and were very very disappointed. The staff and atmosphere were good but the food was definitely not. The salad was wilty and tiny. Ribeye and t-bone were flavorless. Wouldn't recommend going here unless you are getting a drink. Head over to MarLi's better food, less wait, you'll thank me later!

Went for dinner early, arrived about 3:45pm they open at 4pm Atleast 60 people in front of us but once the doors opened we got on the list for a table and then ordered drinks from the bar. The place was packed, the bartender Dana did an awesome job of getting everyone waiting drinks. We ordered brandy old fashions that were fantastic. Once seated the waiter was great. The food never disappoints. Delicious!

The wait is worth it. Be prepared to tail gate for couple hours with drinks, games and lawn chairs. Then into the bar for an old fashioned and to the table with prompt service and tasty food. The prices are up there but the quality is on par. Enjoy the entire experience!

Awesome filet mignon, hash browns, salad, bread and SoCo Old-fashioned. The filet was cooked to perfection... very tender and tasty. We were lucky to have only a short wait. I highly recommend McGregor's Blink Bonnie. I have been going here for 50+ years and they never disappoints me.

Went on a Monday and was told an hour wait, which turned into 90 minutes. Then waited an hour for worst dinner we ever had. They were out of ribs so ordered shrimp & scallops - both were burned, tasteless and scallops were tiny and not worth $27. Husband and son ordered $38 ribeyes medium & medium rare but were so well done, they couldn’t cut, much less eat them. We ate there years ago and were looking forward to it after reading reviews but will never go back. Wait staff and hostess apologized as we left, but don’t waste 2 1/2 hours on a $120 overpriced meal that is inedible.
