This restaurant was such a pleasant surprise! I'm so glad we stopped here during our trip to Door County. We got dinner right at sunset and had the BEST view of the water.

All of our food was so delicious and tasted so fresh. My husband said his fish tacos were the best fish tacos he's ever had. It was refreshing that the fish were seared instead of deep fried. I thoroughly enjoyed my pasta and it also surprisingly had a nice kick (I've been to too many restaurants that say dishes have spice and they do not lol).

The shots were so cute and cheeky. We didn't even realize at first that the little "kisses" attached to the shots were temporary tattoos! That was such a fun little addition.

Lastly, our server was the sweetest. I wish I remembered her name (we went there over the summer), but she was kind and fun to banter with everyone in our group.

If we're ever in Door Country again, this will ALWAYS be a must-stop for dinner!

It was a cold windy day, so we ate inside. I had the whitefish sandwich, and it might have been the best fish sandwich I have ever had. Lightly breaded, and really nice garlicky aioli. Can’t speak about much else menu-wise. The service was adequate, and the (inside) atmosphere was loud. But I would go back for that sandwich in a minute.

I went here and asked the host for a table for 2 on the roof top. About a minute or two later a group of 3 ladies come in and the host takes all of us to the rooftop. It was pretty busy with only one side of a picnic table open and the bar. The ladies sat at the picnic table and we went to the bar to wait, the host told us we would get the next open seating. We saw one table leave and told the bartender we were just waiting a table. She said she would help clear the table for us. After that the three ladies asked if they could have our table. and the same bartender sat them there before us. i asked the bartender why and another worker came over and told us “they got here first” and “they have a bigger group so it makes more sense”. I told them that we actually got here first and they refused to believe me. We would’ve been fine with the picnic table, however they put the other group there first and made us sit at the bar. then gave that group the next available table before us, even when they already had a table, and told us we would be sat there. We left and didn’t eat here.

I wanted to share some honest feedback about our recent experience at Mezzanine. We dined with you last night to celebrate my 27th birthday, looking forward to the ambiance, cocktails, and food. Unfortunately, our evening was dampened by the service we received, which felt cold and inattentive from start to finish.

After waiting several minutes for anyone to acknowledge us, our server finally arrived and took our drink order. When the drinks came, my boyfriend’s cosmo was spilled all over the menu and his leg. Accidents happen—but the lack of a sincere apology or any acknowledgment made the moment unnecessarily uncomfortable.

We then waited quite a while for her to return and take our food order. We requested the white fish cakes to share, a burger for him, and the ahi tuna for me. After another long wait—about 45 minutes—our entrees arrived without the appetizer. Again, there was no explanation or apology. The food itself was excellent, thankfully, but the forgotten appetizer showed up after our entrees were finished. We picked at it, and when we asked for it to be boxed up, we were returned just one full cake—no sign of the half-eaten one. It felt careless.

Look, we understand the service industry is tough—I've worked in it myself. Mistakes happen. But what really stood out was the attitude: our server seemed inconvenienced by our presence, and it cast a shadow over what should have been a joyful celebration. It also felt jarring compared to the warm hospitality we’re used to in the Midwest.

We love supporting local spots and really wanted to have a memorable evening. I hope this feedback is taken constructively—your food and setting have so much potential, and I’d love to come back under better circumstances.

When it's 85 degrees and you have no air conditioning I would suggest not seating people indoors. It was miserable and I felt terrible for your staff having to work through it. We ordered a drink and appetizer because we didn't want to stiff the guy and ate somewhere else. Plus there were one billion flies because of the heat. A terrible experience and I almost never leave reviews.

Fantastic rooftop dining experience! The view of the harbor and large table seating made the perfect backdrop for a relaxing lunch with a larger group. It took too long for us to get our drinks and the waitress had to keep apologizing because the bartender had disappeared. We actually got our drinks not long before the food arrived. This place is a hidden gem overlooking the water, and while I was there mid-week during a slower time of year, my meal was outstanding! I started upstairs on the open-air deck, but noticed several bees, so I went back downstairs and chose a table by the window so I could see the harbor.

Their menu options are amazing, and many consist of whitefish which is very common in Door County. They all looked delicious, but I chose the Cremini Mushroom Linguine with shrimp. It's made in a white wine cream sauce and topped with grated parmesan cheese. It was probably the best pasta dish I have EVER had! Hearty portion, and a slice of lemon & sunflower bread. Bravo!

The only downside is there isn't much parking, and I presume during peak season it is hard to find parking.

May have been isolated experience, but they were sold out of what were my top 5-6 beer selections, no lagers, wheat beers, etc, with only the heaviest of beers, porters and such remaining. The food tasted good. We thought the portions were small. I ordered the white fish sandwich. The fish was maybe 1/8” thick with lots of breading. The slice of tomato was very thick to mask the thin piece of fish. It was $18. There were a lot of potato chips on the plate. My wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. It was very small. About the size of a small McDonald’s hamburger. There was a very thin layer of pulled pork and the coleslaw was almost non existent. It was $14. She also got a large amount of potato chips. We went for sandwiches, not for potato chips. The food we got tasted good. Just not very much. Not a good value if you’re hungry. The waiter didn’t even bother to fill our empty water glasses that were empty half way through our meal.

The rooftop atmosphere is unbeatable. There’s a gorgeous view and it was one of our favorite dinners.

We got the charcuterie board, Reuben with potato salad, and Atlantic salmon with cherry chutney over garlic mashed potatoes.

Charcuterie Board: (5/5), great assortment of cheeses, lovely meats, and it was all paired very well with the nuts, dried cherries, and cherry jelly!

Reuben/Potato Salad: (5/5), very tender meat and the cherry sour kraut wasn’t too overpowering. Potato salad was made well too!

Atlantic Salmon with Garlic Potato’s: (3.5/5), the chutney on top of the salmon added a ton of flavor. The salmon itself tasted good, but it was overcooked and a little dry. The garlic mashed potato’s didn’t have any garlic flavor and I personally don’t like Yukon gold mashed potato’s so I wouldn’t get those again.

This restaurant desperately needs brainstorm session on what to do to make guests more comfortable as the sun starts to set. In our hour we witnessed five groups go back downstairs to where there is AC, they wouldn’t sweat, and wouldn’t have sun in their eyes. Two large umbrellas for the picnic tables is not enough.

You could tell that the weight staff was visibly irritated every time one of their tables went back downstairs to get out of the sun.

Something is simple as fans to keep people cool. Some sort of shade to pull down over the windows on the inside of the mezzanine when the sun starts to go down.

Or some sort of canopy That runs over the top.

But the fact that this has not been remedied and this restaurant been around for two years is unfortunate.

To start on a positive, the rooftop has great views. That’s pretty much the only highlight we can say of the experience. Our server brought us the wrong appetizer and when we politely clarified what we had ordered said “I don’t think you said that, but sure”. When we finally got our cheese curds, we received a significantly smaller portion than we noticed people around us received. We got maybe a small handful and most of them were just breading with no actual cheese in the middle. A party next to us had a heaping pile in their basket. The service in general was pretty slow and it took awhile for our server to take our order, and we noticed a party of 6 who was seated after us was served their food before we’d even had a chance to order ours, as a party of 2. When it arrived, the fish was bland and all around the experience was not quite what we were hoping for.

Sitting on the roof top has a nice view of the lake. I ordered the pork shop. It was a pork cutlet which was deep fried, or pan fried to death. The drink was good. My husband fish looked like a frozen thin piece of fish. He said the fish was bland, the potato salad was below average for Wisconsin.
I wouldn’t recommend it to other travelers. Maybe it used to be good food, somewhere along the line you dropped the ball.

Saturday night we stopped in at Mezzanine on our way home from Sister Bay. We sat at the newly remodeled downstairs bar, and ordered the charcuterie board to snack on as we drank our watermelon cucumber cooler and blueberry mojito. All were delicious! Where to start…

We arrived before dinner, but didn’t want lunch. It was 3pm. We were told they could not serve the dinner menu, and we understood, and told them we would leave and run an errand and come back to have dinner (which started at 4pm).

We arrived back at 3:30 and the host didn’t want to seat us in the restaurant (where there were 70% open tables) because she knew we were going to have a drink while waiting for the dinner menu to start. After a back and forth, quite awkward, she sat us at 3:30 knowing we wanted dinner. We expected to wait until 4, had no complaints, ordered our drinks (Laid in door county) and got some cheese for an appetizer. Drinks were good, cheese was fine.

We ordered dinner at 4, white fish and cremini mushroom linguini. I asked to sub a side, and was told “no, we don’t sub on entrees”. Ok, fine, this place lives to say no, that’s for sure… The food came out, linguini topped with cut onions, not cooked in, just put on top for some reason, and the sauce was so salty it was definitely pre-made and made poorly. The white fish had so much breading it was like a pork chop, really bland flavoring. I also had plastic bag remnants in the Cole slaw.

We finally complained about the linguini, it was inedible, and I ate barely half my fish and clearly none of the plastic-slaw. When we told them of the linguini, the manger on duty (full beard and mustache, younger guy), went to the kitchen to speak to them, removed the dish from our bill, and never once stopped by to check in. He sat at the bar top and watched until we left.

I’ve worked in nice restaurants before, and being from Chicago we are pretty spoiled with a competitive landscape of eateries. You won’t survive unless you are thoughtful with your menu and on-point. This restaurant would be closed within a month. I rarely leave reviews, but it was our 1 year anniversary and this place made it so I must schedule a second anniversary dinner to make-up for this experience.

The ambience is non-existent, the spot overlooks the lake, could be so cool, but it’s just tables (unset), an odd looking bar with IKEA-looking shelves that don’t go with any part of the rest of the joint. I wish I got to read my review before I chose it. Just say no to this place, you’ll be happy you did. I’ll never get that 90 minutes back, and hopefully I can save someone else from wasting that time in their lives too. Remember, I tried to warn you…

My wife got the drink of the day, which was a creative gimlet, and it was quite tasty. I got a chardonnay. The wine list is reasonable, and they have a pretty good selection of creative cocktails that are consistent, along with a daily special.

Our food came out quickly, and it was hot, fresh, and very tasty. I got the Pesto Shrimp...a nice, creamy pesto, with a good serving of shrimp. My wife got the Cherry Walnut Salad, and added Shrimp for a very reasonable $7. The greens were fresh and a nice variety of spring mix, and the accompaniments were all fresh and combined nicely in the salad.

The bartender was very attentive and personable, and checked in on us very regularly. We got there after the sunset, but the view from the restaurant should be very good. It's not all that big, and can get a bit loud, but they are also open pretty long hours for Door County, so you have options.

All in all, definitely recommended.

First, my wife’s friend requested cheddar cheese on her burger instead of the cheese listed and was told “no substitutions; it’s too busy due to limited staff.” He said it with a straight face, though we were the ONLY ones in the dining room at the time: 4:15pm. Even at Burger King you can have it your way. Second, I requested salad with dressing on the side “because I don’t like a lot of dressing.” When it arrived, the salad was loaded with dressing AND there was a nice little container with dressing on the side. Our server either missed the point or was deliberately deceptive. I ate the salad but didn’t enjoy it as I should. Third, the table had some sticky white substance on the edge in front of me so I went into the bathroom to get a paper towel to wet and wipe the substance off; however the towel dispenser in the bathroom was empty., so plan B, I had a leftover paper towel in my pocket that I wetted and used to wipe off my edge of the table so I wouldn’t get it on my new shirt. Fourth, the server NEVER returned to see if we needed anything or ask how our food was. My water glass was empty so I had to share my wife’s water to get through my meal. I would recommend you not go to this restaurant. PS Menu you s VERY limited.

It’s been a long time I’ve been able to write a review raving about a restaurant, but this place is firing on all cylinders!!! To start, the rooftop view is gorgeous! The minute I found out they had monkey 47 gin I knew I was I. The right place ! Their whitefish chowder was INCREDIBLE! Not only was it full of fish, potatoes, corn, but the taste was out of this world! The dried cherry salad was really good but the smoked whitefish toast is a must!

We Weill absolutely be back! My only regret in writing this review is that it brings attention to a place that’s already pretty busy!

Don't waste your time or $$. Views? We were stuck in a back corner with view of a black wall & parking lot despite open tables overlooking the bay. We both ordered the "House Smoked Pastrami Reuben" for $16. When asked about the description & what Cherry Kraut was, waiter had no idea. Sandwich was described as being smoked Pastrami on Rye w/Cherry Kraut, Swiss & Horseradish Aioli. What we got was a sack lunch size sandwich on regular wheat bread w/tasteless cold cut Pastrami and NOTHING ELSE! The tasteless Potato Salad was floating in sauce & lacking POTATOES.

First of all, this place has maybe the best view on the planet. Three stories up overlooking the bay. Amazing. The food is ok. Nothing bad, but really, it's a small, unchallenged menu. BLT wrap? It has Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato and not enough of it is bacon. Mac and Cheese has a ton of pepper, and the cheese is a bit runny. Service is fine, if not a bit relaxed.

One of our favorite places in Door County - it is amazing! The food is fantastic (they even manage to make basics like mac & cheese and burgers outstanding), drinks are great, staff is awesome (many that we met were from across Europe and were wonderful/made for a cool experience), and the ambiance on the roof is lovely. I had a burger here that was absolutely delicious! Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Everything was a little "fancy" for the average person. So if you aren't into trying things outside of the box this place might not be for you. The drinks are specialty drinks that have a very unique flavor. The burger had a sweet Jam and a blue cheese sauce and a horseradish aioli. Somehow it just worked and it was delicious! This restaurant however was pretty filthy looking. The bathrooms look like they hadn't been cleaned in quite some time the moldings were filthy! The scenery was absolutely beautiful you can watch the sunset from their mezzanine. The prices are probably a bit high for the average person. The service was slow, but polite. The scenery and the delicious burger was great, however the fact that the restaurant was so dirty was pretty much a turnoff. The outdoor area in my opinion should be cleaned on a daily basis, there were spiders and cobwebs hanging and the glass was pretty dirty. Somebody should take a little time to clean that on a daily basis because spiders hanging next to your food isn't very inviting. I know we were outside, but there were so many flies crawling everywhere that that was pretty much a turn off as well. Maybe Orkin could do a little spraying for you guys! The sunset was absolutely beautiful! If you're into views and burgers this might be the place for you. They offered a lot of seafood. We were also seated at a long picnic type table where you sit next to other customers. I wasn't a big fan of that either. It's a bit of a turnoff to go to dinner with someone and listen to the conversations of the person next to you.

Stumbled into this place because of parking and traffic and couldn’t have been more happy. This place is awesome. The burger and pastrami was INCREDIBLE!!! The drinks are perfect. These guys do a great job and I’d put them up to any similar style restaurant in ANY MAJOR metro area. We wanted to go back the next day but couldn’t get there until around dinner time and there was no parking and it was packed FULL. Great job you guys!! This is the place to be. A definite must. We came up to door County for our anniversary in May just before season. We came to the mezzanine around 5:30 for dinner. It was moderately busy very trendy. Quite loud. If you have hearing issues, it’s hard to hear. The view was incredible, of the harbor and the lake. There is a rooftop bar that looks fun when open. And a candy shop that was full of candy but closed. They have a full craft cocktail menu, which looks delicious. I ordered a Mojito which was delicious, and my husband ordered a vodka, tonic. We order pan seared white fish which comes with potato salad and coleslaw. My husband asked if he could substitute for the potato salad. Our waiter said sure you can have potato chips so he did. I asked if I could substitute chips for the coleslaw. Our waiter said,”no, that wouldn’t be a fair trade”. I didn’t realize we were trading something! I didn’t want the coleslaw. He said,”I can take it off for you”. Is that a fair trade? He didn’t even make any suggestions.
Needless to say, I was really put off. Not necessary to go back. Except, maybe the rooftop bar. I gave this review three stars because the food was ok. The waiter could use some customer service.

Honestly, I just wasn't impressed with this place. They do have beautiful views for the rooftop dining but the food needs work. Looking at other photos of the place, maybe the chef was having an off day. I had the pastrami reuben and asked for potato salad instead of chips. I was served chips instead and had to ask again for the potato salad. The pastrami was a very small piece that was mostly fat. I wasn't sure if I'd like the cherry kraut that comes on it, but since there was only 10 strands on there, it wasn't an issue. My cousin's burger was fine, but Shipwrecked was better. What they did get right was the cocktails. My suggestion would be to have cocktails and enjoy the view and then go eat somewhere else.
