Last night was my 1st visit to Mia's and I was not disappointed! The service was outstanding and the food was amazingly delicious and so authentic. I had an espresso martini and it was supreme to say the least. Started with a Italian salad, garlic bread with meat sauce, the main course was a 14 inch thin crust pizza with mushrooms and onion. It was incredible! I can't wait to make my way to Waukesha again so I can make another visit. When you do visit make sure and go hungry because you definitely won't leave hungry!

The pizza was just ok. The cheese and toppings were good but the crust was chewy and resonated more with cardboard. Also we used the online ordering system and it said it would be ready at 6:50pm. I never got a text and just went to show up at 6:50 and my pizza was no longer hot. I finally got a text at 7:10 pm saying my order was ready… we were already eating our pizza. Who knows when it was actually ready for pickup. Their online ordering system needs work

We had tickets to Mia’s 5th Episode “We The People” dinner experience and it exceeded all expectations. Beau and his team of chefs created an amazing, intricate, and delicious meal! The food was decent and the atmosphere was very basic. We had a party of 8, and the hostess worked to find us a good place to sit. But after that, the service was very, very slow. We were never asked if we wanted more water... nothing. We had to flag someone down just to get the bill. I think having the gratuity automatically added to the bill really reduced the waitress' motivation to give good service...

My husband and I stopped in here during Friday Night Live. It was the first time either of us had eaten here but we had a fabulous time. Everything we ordered was wonderful and the live music outside was lively. I had the eggplant parm and my husband had the Italian beef, plus an order of garlic bread. Sam Salmon was so great behind the bar, and quite the looker too. Lauren, and her exotic accent, made an excellent conversation partner. My favorite experience was with Aidyn, as she was always around if I ever needed anything. Beau, the manager, was tall dark and handsome. Everything I could ever ask for. Can’t wait to drive an hour to come back. The crowd was a great highlight of my experience as the regulars are amazing. Definitely give this place a try.

Servers were all hustling and doing a good job.
Our server had a big group and handled it pretty good - hence the 5 stars for her.
The check did not have her name, and I missed it when she introduced herself.

Restaurant decore was a little dated, but that's fine with me. Hopefully, that will keep the prices down.
There were some leaves and a slight but noticeable mess at the front by the door that should have been swept up if they were going for a five star on atmosphere.

The tables and seating were all clean and in good repair, and they were not all crowded together, so we would be bunched up to another group, so that was nice.

Soda:
Only one refill allowed here. It is not listed on the menu, nor is the price.
$3.75, for a 12 oz glass. Quite expensive for soda when they are filled with 3/4 of ice.

Not informed until we had ordered them about the 1 refill, we heard free refillS.

The diet pepsi's taste is off, the supply lines or dispenser or both need to be cleaned/serviced. This is not a complaint. This is a fact.

The drink menu has a good selection if you are going to order alcohol. Ask about the price if it matters, I was very confused on what they cost so I passed, not sure if they are grouped together by a price range or not.

Most everyone ordered a pizza.
My wife's was burned over half of the crust ( edge and bottom, i have a picture of a slice). I like charred crust. She does not.

No, we did not bring it up to our servers' attention. She was dealing with the rest of the group who all seemed to get their pizzas correct and unburned. So this pizza was forgotten in the back of the oven or ???? What?

Order the large ceaser salad. It was okay. Lettuce was crisp, not already of parmigiano-reggiano cheese on it. That was $14. For $2.95 more, go to Lou Malnati's for their family sized ceaser salad. Way more of everything on that.

Pasta supposed to be made in house, it seemed to be. It was cooked to proper
al dente, it seemed to have the bite of a homemade pasta or an expensive store bought brand.
I went with the Alfredo sauce, it's still winter and I didn't want a marinara made from a can or from a can or jar.
The sauce was okay. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. The serving size for $19 was pretty small. Olive Garden has a larger size if I going to spend that much.

Thought the garlic bread came with some of these items, yet we got charged $10.50. Menu says 3.50? Why? Is the 3.50 garlic bread 1 piece only. Do you get 1 piece free for the table? Again not clear. Thought 2 pieces came with the large salads, and how many come with the pasta and entrees? Not listed 1 or 2?

Mandatory tip of 20% on 6 people or more at least the system calculates it off the sub-total like it should.
What it does incorrectly is it calculates it off the sub-total AFTER discounts are taken. It should do the tip before, the server didn't discount her labor for her service and I didn't notice till I was writing this review. You should get the programmer to fix it. Not by apply the tip to Total either.

They also put a fee on for using a credit card. With the prices they are charging, do they really need to?

Overall the food is okay, $130+ for 4 people getting mostly small pizza's, really?

Hi Owner, it is obvious you are working hard to do a good job and to put good food out there and you have good staff from what I saw.

If your soda costs are very expensive and you are not making the average 1000+% prifit per glass that google search returns. What's up with that?

Are you renting your machine and buying supplies directly from Pepsi? THA'S a mistake. Do you get your car fixed at car dealer too?

If you renting, that is straight write-off on your taxes against your profit so no taxes paid there.
Supplies your buying get deducted, there is a deduction against profit, no taxes again.

If you are buying the 30 gallon syrup packs and your machine uses 2 oz per glass and you fill the 12 oz glass instead of almost filling them with ice, that is 1920 glasses for $166 dollar syrup.
So $7200 of soda.

We decided to celebrate a special birthday for one of our friends (party of 6) last Friday. A reservation was made and from the moment we arrived, our waitress Hailey made us feel so welcome. Most of us had not dined at this location in several years. Hailey was extremely helpful in explaining menu items and what was included. We ended up ordering pizzas, lasagne, salads and a great bottle of Chianti. Everything was absolutely delicious and the garlic bread didn’t disappoint! Hailey surprised us with birthday cannolis to share. We had a large table in the front and the acoustics were perfect for conversation. We had a memorable celebration and will definitely return. We had reservations for 5 at 5PM on a Saturday night. We arrived shortly after 5PM and were seated shortly after. We had drinks and our orders taken at 5:30PM. Food did not arrive until after 6:30PM. Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet the owner of the restaurant. My family and I were looking for a place to eat and wandered into Mia’s. The owner was extremely accommodating and made a wonderful experience. The regular and gluten free pizza was really great and the garlic bread is amazing. I do believe that the quality control is obviously better when the owner is in as I had been there one time before and found my garlic bread to be more dry. This time around it was dripping with butter and flavorful. I have nothing negative to say as there obviously will be some difference with the owner not present and the amount of customers being significantly larger than this time I went.

We had pizza and garlic bread delivered for dinner. The pizza was horrible. No sauce, no flavor, way too much cheese and hardly any sausage or mushrooms. The onions were thick rings of red onion which I have never seen on a pizza before and hope I never do again, just did not taste or look good. We also felt the garlic bread was smaller than last time and not buttery like usual which is the best part. Hopefully it was just a bad night, but it definitely turned us off from ordering again. We dined in without reservations and we're treated to excellent family friendly service. Our host Beau recommended a very good wine for us. My wife had spaghetti with meat sauce, I had eggplant Parmigiano, a friend had ravioli, and her husband had the "boss" sandwich. We shared a nice family style salad and 2 baskets of garlic bread. I rarely ever go out to eat nowadays, however, this experience has changed my mind. I had waited almost an hour to be seated, my food was bland and cold, the waitress took forever to get back to me with food and drink, and the smell and state of the bathrooms are just atrocious. Such a disappointment, though the building itself is beautiful, the food and the service is poor. The cost and the quality/portion size of the food didn't match at all. The spaghetti and meatballs were bland and the marinara was watery. The garlic bread was drowned in butter but there was no garlic tasted at all. The Alfredo sauce was also bland and watery. Even when picking a full amount rather than half, the portion sizes were incredibly small for $25 a plate. Way more akin to a kids meal. The normal fountain drinks were also nearly $4 per refill. Though the staff was friendly, the service was incredibly slow as it took us almost an hour from appetizer to main meal for just the two of us. I'm not a picky person, but I've never left a restaurant so incredibly disappointed.

Got there around 6:30 this past Saturday, not overly busy we got sat immediately. We waited almost 10 minutes, before being greeted by the server. Placed our food and drinks right away since we sat with the menu for so long. Then we waited about 45 minutes for our food to come out. 45 for a chicken alfredo and a chicken parm.. Chicken alfredo did not have a lot of sauce and just so bland, had 4 pieces of broccoli that were unseasoned and 1 was brown, it honestly would have been better to just go to Olive Garden. Also, you might want to think about getting a curtain to cover the area where all the servers like to hang out in front of the kitchen, that's all we saw 4-5 servers just hanging out by the POS system chatting away. The only reason for a 2nd star is for the side card being perfect. Skip this and go to Olive Garden.

Traditional Italian restaurant. Because of the lack of staffing, we had to wait to be seated even though there were many empty tables. Our server brought our drinks, then garlic bread. The garlic bread was prepared the way Mama Mia's in Milwaukee prepared it: rectangular pieces of bread, soaked in butter, tosted crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The penne with meatsauce and meatballs was very good.

This is my second visit. The first was after Downtown Waukesha's Friday Night Live when we absolutely enjoyed their tiramisu.

It’s truly a shame as to what the new owner Beau has done to a place that has been historic and top notch over the years. The previous owner Sandy is probably fuming in his grave over what has been done to his family restaurant that he worked so hard to keep. A young man with zero restaurant experience other than being a bus boy coming in and trying to turn it corporate. Changing the recipes that this restaurant was built on is what is driving Mia’s into the ground. He can tell you all day long that nothing has changed but the reviews on the garlic bread and lasagna say otherwise. His staff is young and cannot handle the volume that the original staff who had worked there for many years could with grace. The regular customers that won’t ever step foot in that place again were big money spenders. That’s a huge loss. Don’t waste your time or money going there. It is not worth it. Watch Beau run it into the ground. There are so many other authentic Italian restaurants in the area that can serve you much better quality food and service. If the option for a zero star rating was possible you best believe that would be what I would rate it.

Wonderful food and amazing service! Will definitely go back! We went Wednesday for the first time.The bartender was fabulous and has a 1920s menu that is unique and made from scratch. Definitely try the Bella Luna. Our server Lauren was excellent. We had the fettuccine Alfredo and pizza. Outstanding, Beau the owner came out to great us. Wonderful experience.

Haven't been there in about 2 months. Went back to enjoy a delicious pizza. Have no idea what they did. But the crust was a frozen pre-made, very little sauce way too much. Cheese couldn't even taste our mushrooms. The garlic toast had little garlic flavor but was just butter soaked bread. Bartender was awesome, The tiramasu was grainy, and not that creamy. Whatever was done to the food or who's ever making the food? It is not good. It is taken away from the name of the place . We won't be back. Roll the dice, take your chance, but you'd be better off going to Fazoli's.

Mia's has long been a favorite of ours even though it is a bit of a drive for us. Tonight we arrived at 630 to a 3/4 full dining room. Only 2 servers and no bartender. Our server Vaughn was amazing! His attitude and attention in the chaos of all of the customers he was serving was OUTSTANDING! Thank you!

We sat at our table for twenty-five minutes without any acknowledgment from the wait staff.The hostess, who had noticed our excessive wait time, came ove and informed us that she had told the manager, Bo, three times, that we were waiting for service, but that he wasn't responding to her concern.During this time, we watched as other patrons were seated and received immediate service. After an additional ten minutes, Bo came over to our table. Instead of offering any apology or explanation or offering to take our order, he told us that it would be a few more minutes before anyone would wait on us. By this time, a half hour had passed. We got up and left. We will not return to this poorly managed establishment.

This is a great restaurant. Food is excellent, and the people are very nice. They have some of the best pizza and garlic bread in the area. My order was taken care of by Lauren. Very nice lady. Chatted with John at the bar about Friday night events in downtown Waukesha. Great bar to stop at during those events. Please come to the events of downtow Waukesha. It is wonderful experience.

Very good Italian food in a throwback atmosphere. Great table service, small area for seating, but we were able to easily secure a booth during the dinner hour on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant seems to do a good amount of takeout.

Lasagna was terrible, tasted like can food. Whatever meat was used was terrible. Their garlic toast they brag about has no taste. Just butter down bread. Grilled chicken salad was awful, chicken was cold and seemed like it was canned food. At least take the time to grill it fresh , is simple and should taste good. The drink from the bar was not tasteful. Coffee was weak. And the waitresses all had attitudes and look like they didn’t want to be there. No chatting or the least made simple conversation. We went to Mia's before a show at the civic center. No time to wait for a dinner. The kitchen needs better ingredients to serve. We just had a cup of minestrone, fried calamari, and a spinach artichoke spring roll like appetizer. The last app was the only won worth ordering. Sorry!!! We will try again though and make sure if it's not good, we'll speak up. We want to support the restaurants in this beautiful town

My daughter and I had gone there for a pizza and appetizer. We were greeted right away, brought our drinks and our appetizer came out quickly. 45 minutes after we were done with our appetizer, I asked our server how much longer it would be before our pizza would be done. He replied “oh, you don’t have your pizza yet?” He then went to the kitchen and came back to tell us that our ticket must have gotten lost. I was not upset at all, I work in a restaurant and things like that happen from time to time when they are busy. We told him we had to get going and couldn’t wait for it as they were just going to get it in the oven. He then brought us a bill for what we ate/drank but never went to tell a manager about it. I sent a message to the restaurant owner and was told I would get a full refund for their error. I haven’t heard back from him now have I gotten a refund. It’s a bummer cuz Mia’s was an awesome place when the previous owner had it.

My husband & I have been to Mia’s a couple times lately and have had exceptional friendly service and great tasting food. Love the garlic bread and antipasto salad. Lasagna was wonderful and food was fresh and hot. Would definitely recommend eating there. I can’t wait to go back and try the next dish.

This is a 3.5 stars place for me.

The service and ambience were great. We sat out front during a Friday night block party.

The pasta was just ok. The sauce was all runny. The meatballs were pretty generic.

If I could give this zero stars tonight, I would. We waited an hour and a half for food that never came because we had to make a play. At no time were we told that the way the kitchen was behind and that it was going to take a long time for our food. We had to take everything to go and let it sit in the car for two hours and never got to eat. Completely unacceptable. I do not recommend going here. If you have anything to be at in downtown Waukesha don’t go here for dinner. They cannot handle the crowded of customers.

Update. I’ve now changed my one star to five stars. The manager reached out to me and apologized about our experience Saturday night. He has made things right in my eyes and we Will try it again.

We have loved Mama Mia’s since our first date 4/26/69 ~ 54 yrs ago (Silver Spring Dr. Milw.) For 54 yrs, various locations, we returned. Never disappointed, until 4/26/2023, Mia’s Wauk. A tiny briquette garlic bread, cold cup of soup, fair lasagna, slow service. Very disappointing.

Oct.’23 home delivery was excellent, especially the garlic bread we all know and love. Sadly, there will not be a 55th “Anniversary of our First Date” dinner; my husband died in August. Thanks for the memories~

This is my go-to restaurant for Italian fare. The food is delicious, the service is great, and the atmosphere is old school in the best way. If you need any more convincing, the fantastic garlic bread is worth the visit alone. Skip the Italian chain spots around the area and try this place. You won’t regret it.

Garlic bread was stale, server never checked on us during our meal which would be fine if I liked my meal. When our server finally asked for a to go box, I told her no, my chicken parm was not good. She said okay no problem, took my plate away and didn’t offer to comp even half of my meal, I ate less than a quarter of the dish.

Bathroom had no toilet paper so I had to hold it. My sister told an employee but they didn't do anything about it. Waitress was new fine but the practicing different accents was weird. First European then new York then dropping any accent. I asked for spaghetti noodles instead of angel hair with my dinner but I got angel hair. Waitress did not refill drinks when they were out. Food was okay otherwise. Expected more out of a restaurant in Waukesha area.

This restaurant is in dire need of a refresh. Peeling paint, dirty toilets, stains here and there. It appears that only 2 people were working at lunch, the cook and a flustered waitress. Our order was correct and came in a timely manner. The food was OK but we've never heard of a no-meat lasagna. So, we ordered a side dish of meat sauce which I think we were over-charged for. From now on we'll be making the trip to Mama Mia's in West Allis.

Never again will I order from Mia’s. My original order included tiramisu-which I did not get! Then, I used the credit issued to order it-and I still did not get the tiramisu. Instead-they sent a gf turtle brownie that was horrible.

We stopped in for a late-night bite and will definitely be back. I had the red sangria and a satisfying cheese pasta with red meat sauce. The garlic bread portion was generous. My husband had a lobster ravioli with a very memorable creamy tomato sauce spiked with champagne. The owner was very friendly and funny, and the waitress was very approachable. We liked the movie posters hanging on the walls, as they are Italian translations of epic films such as Star Wars, Rosemary's Baby, and Harold and Maude.

The red sauce has changed - I prefer the old but that’s personal preference. The food took a very long time and a bit overpriced for the portions but server was good. When this was Mia's the original owner took pride in quality food and FRESH quality ingredients. I just had the pizza and it was AWEFUL. Sausage and pepperoni that was bland and cheap tasting, the sauce was very tasteless . How can a so called "Italian restaurant" serve such bad pizza? This pizza tastes like froze store pizza.
Whoever is the new owner, GO BACK TO THE OLD RECIPES that Mia's an icon. Go to Italian restaurants in the area and taste what fresh pizza and sauce should taste like.
The garlic bread was cold and lacked TWO main things , butter and garlic. Its almost like the "new" owner has no clue or just doesn't care how the food is made and tastes like.

The service was very bad, I would fire any cook who makes pizza and garlic bread this bad. We sat for over an hour waiting for our food and watched people get there food around us and we were there and CLEARLY ordered way before them. I asked why is this and the clueless guy working behind the bar had no answer, his reply "I dont know where your pizza is".

Bad staff, bad cooks and very bad pizza and garlic bread, the old Mia owners would be appalled at how this "new owner" attempts to run a real Italian restaurant. Poor low grade ingredients, changing decades old QUAILTY recipes and the POOR customer service and serving bad tasting food to its long time customers.

This place use to be an icon in Waukesha, now its cheap low grade ingredients resulting in bad , bad , bad food. Take some pride in what was before you.
