Shared an evening with family on a Sunday and what a pleasant experience. Food was great, everyone took leftover homes. Service was outstanding. If a restaurant is going to put “market price” on their menu, they should have the food quality to back that decision. This restaurant has a catering business, and the food tasted like it came directly from the banquet hall, as it was over salted, dry, tasteless, and to call it lukewarm would be generous.

What was also disappointing was the drinks. I didn’t think a martini could be watered down, but short pour of vodka and an over pour of vermouth can make a cocktail less than desirable.

The quality of steaks (my husband and I always get the ribeye) are amazing. They are so tender and melt in your mouth delicious. For an extra touch try the Maytag Blue Cheese on your steak. Service is always friendly and attentive. We get the same experience anytime we visit. Highly recommend!

We had been meaning to try this place for over a year, and finally we made it out here. The atmosphere, especially if you can sit by a window, is absolutely wonderful, on the water, lake view and just so wonderful. We were there on a night where they were dead. And we were one of only 4 tables at the time we entered until we left. IN fairness we came during the week and in the fall/begining of the off season. We like to do that for two reasons-less crowding and people, and they need the business more then.

Our server was great. My husband's steak was really good. The tempura brussel sprouts were really good, My food was alright. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. And that's ok. Next time we go back, I have three other things on their menu that I was debating getting and so I have options for next time. Because they are worth a next time and time again. And also, the tempura brussel sprouts were so good, that I could just get two of those. I could blame those for setting me up... :) and filling me up.

Wow! We all had terrific experiences with this establishment! Cocktails to dessert. Didn’t disappoint! Steak was cooked perfectly and tasted even better! My husband had the salmon- he mentioned that it was delicious! Portions were very good. Now I can’t even begin to describe how lovely the carrot cake is. Homemade, huge and Heavenly! My husband and I went to this amazing restaurant for the first time last night and are so impressed we are already planning our next visit. We started off with a wonderful old fashioned at the bar that was made perfectly!!! Michael, the owner was bartending and certainly makes everyone feel welcome!!! We requested a window seat overlooking Eagle Lake. Our waitress was Ann and she was a delight. Our meal started with a loaf of warm bread and whipped butter…in a word…AMAZING! I had the pork chop and my husband the ribs. We both agreed our meals were at the top of our list of dinners we have had in a restaurant. We both had salads to start…yummy homemade dressing. Meals are served with choice of potato and came with a wonderful carrot and bean blend. Not only a pop of color, but delicious. We decided to try their homemade carrot cake for dessert and it was phenomenal! We give this wonderful place a 10 plus plus! Our overall dining experience was one of the best we have had….we can’t wait for a return trip to Michael’s on The Lake!

We were there on a Thursday and had a wonderful experience. When it comes to food I’m hard to please. We started with the fried ravioli, it was crispy brown and not over cooked so the filling was still a filling instead of leaking out the sides. The top sirloin was well seasoned, well cooked and topped with delicious roasted garlic and butter. The shrimp in the garlic shrimp pasta was cooked well and the noodles were cooked just right. The portobello ravioli was larger than expected, we added sausage and would say it was the right choice. Also had a meat lovers pizza and was pleasantly surprised their pizza is seriously great. The specialty old fashioned were well maid and the fresh loaf of bread was warm and finished before the mains hit the table. We had to take dessert home but were glad we did. Often this corse is too rich for one person but both the lemon blueberry cake and chocolate cake were well balanced and definitely delicious. If I had any complaints they would be nit picky and far overshadowed by the overall experience. The service we got from Evie was just right and the owner was visible and checked in on us while eating and as we left. While the prices might not be something you can go to every night I thought our bill was very reasonable and cheaper than a supper club we visited with less atmosphere recently. I wish I lived closer but I will definitely find a way to come back. You should too. Only regret is being too full for the pink squirrel….. next time we’ll know better.

We stumbled upon Michael’s one Saturday afternoon during a road trip. What a treat! Michael himself was behind the bar, with such a fun sense of humor! We started with a Bloody Mary and a Sangria. They were both delicious!!! Then we shared a prime rib sandwich. It was the best we ever had. On top of that, we are coleslaw snobs, so we gave it a try. We had an amazing dinner at Michael's on the Lake. We are two couples that go to Supper Clubs around the state and rarely does it happen that all four of us give 5 stars to our food, but this time we did. We loved the location of the restaurant right on the lake, the atmosphere was less supper club and more lake casual restaurant, but that was ok. We came a little early to beat the crowd. Immediately greeted by the bartender (with the most epic mustache).The owner, super nice guy, sat us by the window, with a beautiful view. Anne took care of us, she was absolutely fantastic. The sauv blanc was crisp and fresh, and my husband drank two of the specialty old fashioneds, flippin yummmm! We started with the calamari, delicious. My husband ordered the Prime Sirloin Filet with Maytag Bleu cheese (rare), I ordered the Filet mignon (med rare)... they were perfectly cooked... melt in your mouth, perfect. Our daughters cheeseburger and fries were perfect. Anne made sure our drinks were never empty and that we were very well taken care of. Of course we had to end with a piece of carrot cake, we took it home because we were pleasantly full! Everything was PERFECT! We will definitely be back!

Visited to have lunch, and what I can assume was the manager, a bigger man with white hair, went to all other tables to check on how they are doing and talked to them all while ignoring us because we wore our recall for robin vos shirts. Did not have a reservation. Sat at the bar waiting for 40 minutes for a table. Bartender said that she could serve us at a high top. Michael came over and offered another couple at the bar a high top and said something like, I don't know what you want to do with them" referring to me and my husband. There's a sign stating that they are shirt staffed, but it's no excuse to be rude to customers....sir, we did wait 40 minutes, we did finish our drinks, and you were going to seat the only other couple waiting for a table before us at the high top, even though we came in before them. The view looking at the lake while dining was very relaxing.

We stopped for Friday fish fry and had a choice between haddock or blue gill both as baked or breaded.

My friend had the baked haddock with the potato pancakes. I had the breaded haddock with sweet potato fries. The fries were excellent! There was a good portion of fish , so we both took home the extras.

The staff was excellent and frequently checked to make sure everything was satisfactory.

The bar had fall drinks. I had the salted caramel cocktail, and it was soooo good!

Ok. So we both had prime rib dinners with shrimp on the side. Food was cooked to perfection with plenty of flavor. Service was great. Owner was very fry. I highly recommend this place

We were initially excited to dine in at this establishment. We booked a reservation for two couples, and toddlers. Our first reaction entering the resturant was that it was a little up tight. The host was not overly friendly, seemed bothered. Once we sat down, the owner (also the host), rudely came over to us and yelled. The toddlers were playing with PLASTIC CARS, on the table. He stated that his tables are not corian! And suggesting that we must be used to eating on cheap plastic tables, not wood like his own. Rude! The table already had large scratches in it, and if he was bothered, there was a better way of putting it. He side eyed us the entire evening. Our bill together was well over $200, and we frequent many supper clubs. They knew we had children as well, and for 1.5 year olds, they are well behaved. The food was ok, they ran out of prime rib. We ordered two ribeyes instead, it was a little over done. The ribs were good, just not very thick. The waitress was good, but I can see why there are help wanted signs posted EVERYWHERE. The insinuating from the owner, and stiffness of the atmosphere will not bring us back. Other reviews pointed out issues with Michael as well.

A perfect time to enjoy the autumn colors and a country ride to Michael's. The atmosphere is more about the Eagle Lake view while dining. Our group was over 30 people and everyone complimented the food; especially the very tender steak. Looking forward to a return trip.

My husband and I went to Michael's for the first time and wanted to have Prime Rib. What a disapointment. The worst prime rib I've had in all my years of dining out. You couldn't even cut it with the knives given to us. The best thing about the meal was the hot bread and baked potatoe. At $34 each, we weren't "happy diners". Guess that's the price you pay for a great view of Eagle Lake.

Very long wait for seating due to shortage of staff. The best table outside was off limits due to ants or spraying, couldn't get clarification, but we didn't see any ants and were yelled at when we asked to sit there. Ordered appetizers and enjoyed the sunset at a different table. The jalapeno cheese curds and mozzarella sticks were amazing and the staff was attentive and kind after we were seated. We enjoyed looking at the most gorgeous, ant-less, potentially full of bug spray, table for the entirety of our stay, wondering what could have been, had we been seated there.

They take reservations before walk ins. Be prepared to wait for a table if you don't have a reservation. This was our experience and because our prior experiences at this restaurant have been great, it was disappointing to have such a bad one. Yes, they are short on staff as others have said, but after waiting two hours for a table, the problem was once we were seated, we were completely ignored. No one stopped at our table to even say, will be with you shortly. After 20+ minutes, and nobody bothering to stop at our table, we decided to leave. The owner walked by our table 3 times, and could see the wait staff had not been to our table and did nothing about it. We understand these are hard times for restaurants, but we think the service was horrible, and this was an utterly disappointing experience. Even thought the food and atmosphere is good, we will never go back there again. We ended up going to TinCAN Roadhouse, and even though the restaurant was packed, we got a table straight away and a waitress took our order quickly, and dinner was served within 15 minutes. The lake perch there is quite good.

Highway robbery on steak price. I ordered a 6oz filet and lobster tail for two and spent over 150 with drinks before tip. The filet was ridiculously undersized for a 6oz, the what I believe to be the owner had the nerve to argue with me at the table about it and create a scene. I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE. Also took over an hour to get our food to the table after ordering. Whole experience took 2 plus hours. If you want to eat excellent food there are much better options than this place. This place is a joke and a scam.

Micheals on the Lake was a gem find 30 minutes over the border on Eagle Lake. Nice restaurant with fabulous 5-star quality food and drinks. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. If you are looking to try something new get in the show cars, motorcycles, etc and take a ride over the border and check this place out. Now the owner did tell us they need staff and are having a hard time getting people that want to work, so please be patient and relax and enjoy the views and the food. If you know someone over the border looking for work, send them up to talk to Micheal.

My husband and I had a random date night that led us here to Michael's On the Lake. We walked in and it was pretty empty but steady for a Sunday. We were greeted by Micheal and had to sit at the bar to wait for a table. No problem. They had one bartender and I hate saying this but she was pretty slow on making the drinks and another couple left because she didn't get to them in time, however once she finally did get to us and made our drinks, they were made perfectly. I had a Cosmo and my husband had an old fashioned. She balanced the drinks very well and it was worth the wait. One thing we notice though is that the restaurant is very short staffed, so everything does take a bit longer. When we were finally seated we were greeted by Nick who was our server and he was very good at his job. We had a beautiful view while we sat outside and we enjoyed our time waiting for our food. For appetizers We ordered the fried calamari, and for dinner I ordered the filet mignon and my husband ordered the shrimp tempura. The food here is high quality and it was some of the best steak I've had around here in years. Again, the wait is worth it! Michael made his way around all the tables making sure that everything was all right and we assured him that everything that we had was delicious. I will say this, You may want to make a reservation but I think we got lucky on a Sunday night just walking in. There were a few corks about this restaurant, lots of signs everywhere about being short staffed and there was a little tension in the restaurant. I will definitely overlook it because I know from experience what it's like to be a server in a restaurant where people are short staffed. If we find our way back in that area I would definitely go back to Michael's and enjoy another lovely dinner with my husband.

Our first time there for an unplanned visit. Wonderful location with beautiful views of the Lake. The interior is not overdecorated; it was clean, and bright. It was apparent that they were under staffed, but we still got very friendly service from a smiling waiter, and the food was good, and fast. I loved seeing what appeared to be the kids and grandkids helping around the dining room. We were there between lunch & dinner, which probably helped, as it wasn't too busy. But the best part? Their carrot cake! Made in-house, hands-down the best carrot cake I've ever had, and a huge piece!

My husband went there for dinner on Saturday night, there was a short wait around 8 pm. Had a nice old fashioned at the bar until we were seated outside. Had a Beautiful sunset. Even though I didn't get any pictures of the food. We had the jalapeño cheese curds, New York Strip and a Ribeye which were cooked to perfection and had an excellent flavor. The homemade bread and soups were great as well. Good service, will have to go back and try the prime rib.

When you get there, they have a sign stating that due to lack of help, reservations will be seated before walk-in guests, and they appreciate your patience. (Paraphrasing) This should be posted on their website.
We traveled 30 minutes to get their so we waited. We were there over an hour when a couple sat at the bar next to us. They were there 15 minutes when she went up to the old man seating people (assume owner) chirping in his ear that they were practically family. They did not have reservations! Then low and behold, 5 minutes later, they were seated. Screw this place and their process! We will never be back!

Me and my boyfriend went here last Friday for fish fry and we’re very impressed!! All of the staff were friendly, personable, and attentive. We started off with the calamari that was to die for!!! We both got the fish fry, that came with an amazing clam chowder. The fish was fresh and delicious. The view from our table was so beautiful. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good fish fry or just a nice dinner!

Michael's is a long time favorite of ours and we've always had a great experience here both for food and for service. It's a great place to have a leisurely dinner with friends and family. Food is always great. So far, I've had their steaks, prime rib, pork chops and Friday fish fry and all have been excellent. Don't forget to leave room for dessert; their carrot cake is the best I've ever had.

Just a really great and relaxed experience. The muddled old fashions were a fantastic starter. My wife and I shared 2 Saturday night specials, the beef stroganoff and the coconut crusted shrimp. Both were amazing. Chief Kim does an an outstanding job with a perfect fusion of spices for both entrees. Make sure to try the homemade bread!! The carrot cake is the signature dessert for a reason ( one piece is plenty for 2). GREAT SUNSET overlooking the water!
