I've eaten there several times in the last year. Service can be al little slow. Kids these days don't want to work. The owner, his daughter, and the rest of their staff do an amazing job. Have patients when you arrive they will get to you as soon as they can. The food is definitely worth the wait, and actually comes very quickly once ordered. Thank you for another amazing meal! We had dinner here I have to say, it was such a great experience. The owner himself greeted us, seated us, and even checked in a few times throughout the meal, which made it feel extra welcoming. The food was so good, full of flavor and definitely worth the visit. Mike even gave my kids a free ice cream sandwich. 🥹🫶🏻

Our waiter was also amazing, attentive, patient, and so kind, even with the kids (which isn’t always easy when dining out 😅). Good food and even better service make all the difference, and this place definitely delivered on both. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're visiting The Dells.

Awesome!! Delicious. I wanted to order a pizza for pickup after a long day. They told me it was gonna take 35 minutes to get it ready I said “well let’s cancel it then” and hung up. The owner MIKE literally called me and said “Hey friend sorry, your pizza is ready in 15 minutes.” It was ready in 15 minutes like he said. Pizza is huge and delicious!!

Why do I get the same thing? Because it's awesome.
Just get the meat stromboli. It's $13.95, baked to perfection and could be 2 and sometimes 3 meals.
The wait staff is super attentive and keep your water topped off.
Let's talk about Mike. This guy always stops by the table and greets you and asks how things are going. He recently became a U.S. citizen. I have never had a bad meal at Mike's Italian Restaurant.

We had dinner at Mikes the evening before our wedding. We had 18 people for dinner. Tim was our server, kept his cool with a very large loud group, who kept changing seats 😆
He got everyone’s checks seperated accurately. And the owner, Mike, was great, welcoming, hospitable and kind. The food, 10/10 everyone enjoyed everything!!! No one was disappointed with their meal or our time of celebration.

Tim our server was beyond attentive & friendly! He’s in the right business. Mike the owner & chef of our pizza we ordered, came out & greeted us & checked how we like the food, which was exceptional all around! That was incredible for a chef to rake time to do that. Andrea the bartender & cashier gave us a military discount that we appreciated! Wendy also the owner & Mike’s wife, checked with us as she passed by the table & introduced herself to us. One of my favorite places ever now, the most human server I’ve had in my life. Can't really say much other than me and some friends drove over an hour to get here for some Italian food Wednesday, Google page said they were open 11am - 9pm and the door said the same thing .. we got there at 1pm and it was all locked up! Person at the desk in the hotel told me "they are open when they want to be open, sometimes they are sometimes they're not" .. we left, disappointed and hungry. Without any indication of when they will be open, I probably will not return.

Skip the pasta and GET THE PIZZA! My husband said it may have been some of the best pizza he’s ever had. Also, it’s the little things! They gave my kids free ice cream sandwiches after the meal and there was a trunk of free trinkets when you leave. The cook came out and we had to let him know how much we were enjoying our meal!

We found Mike's via a search and boy were we happy to find it! 4 of us enjoyed a delicious dinner. My house strimboli was jam packed with fillings. My husbands chicken arrabiata with orange sauce was wonderfully spicy. Our friends had pizza and lasagna, both were exceptional. All the food is served piping hot and fresh from the kitchen. Amazing restaurant! We are local (2 blocks away) and came in on the soft opening night. We’ve been hooked since! Great pizza, pasta, calzones! Mike always walks through the dining room to check in with customers to be sure they are happy with their experience. He goes out of his way to be good to kids dining. Seriously cannot say enough positive about this place. Mike and Wendy run a great restaurant here in Baraboo. We went to this restaurant because it was a Monday and Mama Mia’s was closed for the day, so we went here as a second option, and when we got there it was busy, but the owner came over in decent time to get us seated, he was very friendly and inviting, then when we got seated a middle aged woman came over and introduced to us a new server, Matteo I believe, she explained it was this boy’s first day at the restaurant, The boy politely took our orders and got our drinks, he checked on our table every 5-10 minutes to see if we needed refills, it was very nice to have an employee that actually cares about their job for once. So we got an appetizer of fried mushrooms, they came with marinara sauce, and these mushrooms were delicious, the outside was so crispy and the interior was soft but not soggy. They were perfect! Then we ordered 1 Fettuccini Alfredo with one Linguine Carbonara, the pasta came with one garlic knot each, and they were baked to perfection, the outside was satisfyingly crunchy with a soft pillowy inside that was warm and addicting! Then when we got our pasta, it was absolutely phenomenal! The carbonara had so much bacon and the sauce was not eggy at all, it was incredibly smooth and creamy! The Shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo had just one criticism, all it was is that it needed a bit more shrimp, otherwise it was amazing! Absolutely perfect! The server did such an amazing job we decided to leave him a 30% tip! This restaurant is perfect to go to if you can’t go to Mama Mia

Best Italian in the area! Staff were welcoming & pleasant. We got the pleasure of meeting the owner. He was very kind & went above & beyond for our family of 5. Our children had the spaghetti & meatballs & ravioli. My husband had the antipasti salad (only picture I took). I had the Greek salad which was the best I have ever had with a homemade Italian dressing, big chunks of feta cheese. Absolutely delightful. They give you the most fabulous salted garlic bread rolls. After our meal, we were heading out & the owner stopped us & gave the kids some ice cream bars. Then he has a prize treasure chest that the kids were just so excited to grab a toy out of. Drove an hour to get there because of the great reviews plus there are no Italian restaurants in our section of Southern Wisconsin. Tim our waiter went out of his way to help us with everything we asked. For example--we wanted the antipasto salad without the lettuce. We enjoy the "charcuterie experience" with our martinis. He returned with a platter full of Italian cold cuts and cheese pinwheels--perfect fingerfood and perfectly yummy. The cheese bread was just as flavorful with generous amounts of oozy-melty mozzarella, very tender and not rubbery.

Flavor is the watchword for every morsel of made-from-scratch food (and bread) they serve. The maranara sauce on my eggplant parmesan was rich and delicious. My husband's meatballs on his pasta plate were densely packed and authentically seasoned. This is not boring food.

We stopped ordering Chianti wine at Italian restaurants long ago but Mike had only one on his wine list and we'd never heard of; we took a chance on it and it was a wonderful surprise--not at all vinegar-y and acidic like so many Chianis have been in recent years.

The decor is casual yet well-appointed, stylish, and newish with modern materials and design. We plan to take the drive once a week whenever we're at our lake house in Southern Wisconsin. So I guess that means we LIKE it!

Update: We went there again a week later and ate at the nearly-empty bar. The wise-cracking bartender whom we nicknamed Snappy (it's a long story) made a perfect shaken martini with tiny ice crystals floating on top just the way I asked for it. But like too many places in this area, they only serve Tangueray, my least favorite gin so I ordered it made with Grey Goose, instead.

We also discovered that the Italian Chianti is the only wine they sell by the bottle. That's a bummer. Back to the food, my reason for the update: The soup of the day, creamy Italian sausage and kale was piping hot and went down like a velvet dream. My husband's Italian beef sandwich was just okay compared to the gob-lip-smacking delizioso-ness of Chicago's that are as much a sight for hungry eyes as a taste for the tongue and hug for the belly.

My meat cannelloni (ground pork and beef) was smothered in the same great oozy-melty mozz as my Eggplant parm had been but this time I detected a sweetness to the marinara sauce that didn't appear to come from very ripe tomatoes. I think someone slipped a little sugar into the batch and THAT I can do without.

We ordered two Strombolis to go that arrived in a pizza box that weighed a ton. We opened it to sneak a peak and the two gorgeous baked creatures filled the entire box, maybe even bigger than the one featured in the photos here. Too bad we bought them for our neighbors so I can't comment on the taste but we'll be getting them next time. Stay tuned...

I want to respond to Cindy's review. I was standing right next to the hostess stand when you came and asked how long for food.

The hostess was clearly typing in an order on the computer and you asked how long for food. Hostess responded that it would be about an hour wait because the fair was closed and they we slammed. She apologized several times but I'm thinking you didn't hear her as your spun around and assertively left.

Unfortunately you didn't take this well and turned around muttering that you wouldn't wait that long.

This establishment does an amazing job serving our community and guests. Consistently serving amazing food with amazing service.

While it's your right to express frustration, leaving a one star review because of a long wait is unkind and uncalled for. Be reasonable, if you cannot be kind and shoe compassion.

Hidden Gem in Baraboo!
We stopped at Mike’s Italian Restaurant on a Wednesday afternoon around 12:30 and were blown away. Despite being incredibly busy, the service was excellent—our waitress was attentive, kind, and made us feel right at home.

The menu is insane—so many delicious options, it was hard to choose! I ended up going with the baked ziti, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The wedding soup was fabulous—comforting and rich. We also shared the garlic cheese bread (super tasty), but the real standout? Their homemade rolls. Absolutely out of this world.

The decor is warm, classic, and just beautiful—exactly what you’d hope for in a cozy Italian spot. I highly recommend stopping by for lunch or dinner. The pizzas coming out of the kitchen looked amazing, so I’ll definitely be making another trip soon just to try one.

Visiting Wisconsin Dells Wilderness Resort for the first time and I was looking for the best Italian restaurant to satisfy my son's request for Alfredo pasta. Our waiter Tim was awesome and even asked if my son was ok with oregano on his pasta (he is picky). We also ordered stromboli, spaghetti and meatballs and sirloin steak with house salad and soup. Both the homemade Italian dressing and the red pepper gouda soup were so flavorful. The homemade bread was delicious and good to dip in the soup and even Italian dressing. Our server was Tim, absolute sweetest guy! Super personable, told us stories and cracked jokes, he has a matching tattoo with his best friend he happily told us about. Clearly he loves his job! We're on vacation from Illinois and to be honest, this was the best food we've had on the trip so far! Amazing food, amazing people, embarassed myself by talking to the wrong person about how amazing Tim was, but it was a good laugh for everyone involved

I attended a party with 40 people and it was an impressive evening. The food was exceptional and the service truly amazing. The room of 7 tables was completely served quickly and promptly, so no one had to wait long. Mike is an impressive chef with a wonderfully welcoming personality. Truly a special place!

Went there for the first time after a recommendation of a friend. The service and food were fantastic. One of the best spaghetti sauces I've ever had. The food came out hot, and stayed hot for the entire meal.
The owner Mike went around to every table twice while I was there to make sure everyone had a good meal.
We will go back again.

My family of four recently enjoyed Mike's hospitality during our stay at the attached hotel. The children enjoyed the ravioli and fettuccine. I had the ribeye special; cooked to perfection and delicious. We shared the fried mushrooms, which my husband doesn't care for, but thoroughly enjoyed. He also ordered the Stromboli. As a born New Yorker, he raved that it was the best he'd had since leaving New York. Five stars are not enough for this inviting restaurant. Thank you, Mike.

Great food and a fantastic staff. A very wide ranging menu is sure to cater to most everyone. The portions are very generous and the food is very delicious. Tim, our server, was amazing and Mike, the master behind the scene, made the delicious food and came out to all of the customers to see how everything was. Would highly highly recommend eating here!!! Mike the owner has really amazing Italian food we got the fettuccine and spaghetti, tortalinni, meatball sub and I forgot what the desert was called but specially their tortalucci or tortalinni it has Alfredo sauce and red sauce together ahh sooo good 👍 that’s mine and my daughter’s absolute favorite dish. 100/10 Tim was our waitress. He was really nice and funny very welcoming altogether I had a really good birthday and will come again and again. 🥰 there food is so worth it you can thank me later oh and don’t forget to try their desserts too 😍

The owners son was our waiter . He forgot to put in our appetizer. I had to ask him three times for ketchup . They were not that busy. He made a comment that I was a cheap date because we only ordered burgers and fries .

We loved it here. When we arrived there was a strings group rehearsing in a room, so the music was great.

The chef greeted us on the way in. They were understaffed, but the young guy who waited on us was so cheerful and exuded happiness. He was very overwhelmed but oh my gosh, he had us laughing our butt's off!!!

We all agreed this was the best food we have had in ages! We plan to visit again next time we are in the Dells!!!

P.S. I haven't had Fettuccine Alfredo that good years!!!

We arrived for dinner tonight and we were happy to see that Mike's was packed. Wendy suggested we have a seat at the bar and that Andrea would help us. She was prompt in getting our drinks and taking our dinner orders. The Linguine Carbinara is my favorite while my husband had the Seafood Combo with Aflredo. Both did not disappoint as usual!! To start our dinner my husband had the house salad while I tried the Tomato Bisque soup, is was amazing! Don't forget the hot dinner knots! Even though we were both too full, who could pass up Canolli or Tiramisu for dessert? We took them home to enjoy later in the evening. Mike's is always one of our go to places for dinner and worth the wait even on the busiest of nights.

Cannot say enough about this place. We have nine children, eight of them being boys with hearty appetites. Most of the time they end up still hungry after going out to eat and we end up with a whopping big bill. Mike’s Italian is going to be our new go to. Incredibly reasonable prices for the ridiculously huge and hearty pizzas that were brought out to our table. One of my biggest eaters was only able to eat one slice. Absolutely delicious, best pizza we’ve had in Wisconsin.

The service absolutely blew us away as well. We were lucky enough to get Tim. Tim was an absolute expert on the menu, not only explaining every dish and the specials, but telling us what his personal favorites were and why. His opinions were spot on and we were super pleased with our choices. Tim’s timing was fantastic as he came by often to check on us for refills and any additional requests. He was patient and very accommodating.

We will definitely become regulars here.
