The only reason for 3/5 stars for the food is that my steak was cooked medium well instead of medium rare (Come on guys...its a steak house this is literally what you do). I understand being part of a large party all of our steaks were probably cooked at the same time, so I can be somewhat forgiving.

Had a wonderful time. Got the calamari as an appetizer, it was delicious, I personally enjoyed the addition of the olives, capers, and spice. Minestrone soup to follow it up was fantastic and now in my top 5 recipes I’ve had in the city. The dry aged ribeye is what I had for my main course, and it did not disappoint!! To follow it all up I had the carrot cake which is delicious and I’d definitely recommend.

This is the absolute worst steak I’ve had in years, sizzler would be better. There were five of us getting the aged ribeye for $75 each (not including a salad or side). Two of us end up with food poisoning. The steaks were not prime and were not aged I ordered my steak rare. It came out past medium. When I pointed it out to the server he goes, Is that not to your liking? I’m sorry where a steak cost $75 that does not even include a potato a server should not ask you if the way they cooked your steak is to your liking when you ordered it rare and it’s past medium. They should just suggest they take the steak from you and make that right immediately. I was taken back that he would even ask when I’m pointing it out, does this look rare to you question. My next steak to come out wasn’t even blue. It was below blue and I don’t know how that’s possible. Most of our steaks had big chunks of fat in it, not marbling, but chunks of fat I went ahead and ate my steak that was not cooked because I was afraid to send it back because it was so bad at that point. Apparently I should’ve ordered it well done and maybe I would not have got food poisoning. With choices like the Capital Grille and 20 other great locations to eat within a 2 to 3 minute walk the Hilton there’s no way I would ever eat at this restaurant again or recommend anybody to eat at the chophouse at Hilton Hotel. The following night, we noticed the chophouse was closed for emergency something. Not sure what that was, but maybe everybody else got sick that ate there the night before as well. This is not just a slight disappointment. Basically it was fraud in advertising saying you were getting a dry aged prime ribeye and there was nothing dry aged or prime about the ribeye. So my recommendation is to avoid the chophouse, find a bar with bar food. You will be much safer. For the life of me I don’t know how they had high ratings from so many people. I find it hard to believe somebody could have that bad of a night to disappoint five people that bad.

We sat down at 6:40 for our 6:45 reservations. Food wasn't served until at least 8:30. Rolls were frozen in the middle, the salad was good not great. Value was terrible. I ordered the short rib $42. Didn't realize I was getting one rib. Might have been 2 and 1/2 oz of meat. Honestly it was pathetic. Laughable. And I had something else to do so the fact that it took 2 hours to get there. I actually had to take it to go. Don't worry. I included a picture and I put a fork in the picture for scale because I didn't think anyone would believe how small these portions really were. Dinner was $90 (for myself) and it was the worst meal I had the entire time I was in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Chophouse is an elegant steakhouse on the first floor of the Hilton in the heart of downtown. They offer a wide selection of wine, nice cuts of steak, and fresh seafood. The evening I attended, a lot was ordered because it was a business dinner, and the table shared various dishes. To kick off the night, we ordered a handful of appetizers. I personally only tried the fried calamari, which was delicious and tender. It sits on a spread of a lemon butter sauce with a sprinkle of cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, and capers.
Since steakhouses usually offer a type of bisque, I decided to try their seafood bisque. It has a creamy tomato base with some jumbo lump crab meat and is topped with a crostini. The flavor of the bisque was a tad bland. I finished the dish, but I would pass next time. They did have a poblano and corn chowder, which a few at the table enjoyed, and I would order it next time if it is offered.
Now to the star of the meal—the meat. I decided on a medium New York Strip Steak. I added brandy peppercorn sauce as an accompaniment, which was also tasty. Since a steak needs a buddy, I had to add a Broiled South African lobster tail. You can't go wrong with a nice piece of lobster drowned in butter. For sides, we also ordered an array of items. From veggies to carbs, we had it all. I enjoyed the lobster mac and cheese with large chunks of lobster throughout. It was out together with white cheddar, buttered breadcrumbs and parmesan. I also tasted the mashed potatoes, a mash of garlic purée, cream, and butter. Want a fabulous bite? Put together the steak, the brandy peppercorn sauce, and a swipe of the potatoes. Yum.
To end the night, we were treated to a selection of desserts. I don’t have a sweet tooth, but I will lean toward sorbet if they have it. They had a pairing of strawberry and blood orange. I tasted the strawberry and enjoyed it.
Overall, the night went well, and we all enjoyed our meals and our fabulous waitress.

They specialize in steaks yet can't actually cook a good steak. I would not return.

The steaks had no flavor and didn't seem to be seasoned. All of the sides were wonderful except the mashed potatoes which tasted gummy and overworked. One of our party sent their steak back after one or two bites, the other after eating a quarter or so - hoping that it would get better towards the middle, and the final person in our party ate around a half and was going to take the other half home to baste in butter to see if that would fix the lack of flavor.

They comped the first steak, but only comped half of the second. This was acceptable at first, but the chef said that he would taste the steaks and he came back out and noted that he agreed the stakes had no flavor. If the chef agreed that they had no flavor why would both steaks that were sent back not be comped fully? This confused us.

We ended up paying and accidentally leaving the to go box with all of the uneaten sides and the steak that was left over that was not sent back. We were gone for less than a minute before returning and the tables already cleared and they threw away the to-go box. I'm not sure why they would feel a very heavy box with half of a bone-in ribeye and tons of sides and decide to just immediately throw it away, but I do not know what their protocols are.

All in all it was a very disappointing evening. They apologized for throwing out the to-go box and offered to cover what I believe was three meals in the future for our experience, but I was not clear on that and will have to wait for their email as they could not find a card to give me for those free dinners.

Hopefully it is not just one meal because that would be rather insulting after that experience.

I’m going to piggy back off of what Monique said as I was there with her, except she was being a tad generous with 2/5 stars.

I went into this dinner reservation with pretty high expectations based on what I saw on the company website and current reviews. The night started off pretty standard with prompt drink orders and our orders taken. Eventually the starter plates made their way out ( quite timely I may add). I knew it was soon I would be enjoying my overpriced 80$ boneless ribeye.

35 minutes later still no food. We reach out to our waiter and it becomes obvious we were forgotten about. We were told “ so sorry, the food will be out in 5 minutes” 15 minutes later we get our food. At this point our table has to basically inhale our food as fast as we can because we were supposed to be on our way 25 minutes ago.

The ribeye was cooked to my liking but it was a chewy nightmare. I’ve had 20$ steaks that blow this 80$ rip off out of the water.

All in all, the disappointment ended up being as high as where I thought my amazement would be after dining at this establishment, but that figures considering we were caught off guard that this place is an extension of the Hilton hotel and pretty much explains everything.

In the end I feel incredibly ripped off. This was no where close to what a $230 experience should be like.

We went here at 6pm on a Saturday before a show at the Riverside. We were about 5 minutes late for our reservation to start the evening (and called ahead to let them know), but that does not warrant our dinners being served an hour and 20 minutes later.

Overall, super disappointed in the experience, especially for the cost for 4 people. Here’s why:

- cocktails were mediocre - I ordered the Lavender Smash and that was the best one out of 4 that we had at our table. The others were not well balanced. Ultimately not worthy of a $14+ price tag.
- food was extremely disappointing, especially since we didn’t get it until 7:30 and had to leave at 7:40 to get to our show at the Riverside Theater that started at 8. The steak was horrible (we can make better steaks with our sous vide and our stovetop at home), potatoes (it’s a basic potato with a meh sauce) and mushrooms mediocre and the broccoli was barely cooked. We did like the lobster Mac and Cheese and the beef carpaccio was by far the best item. I also enjoyed my chop salad.
- service was horrendous. We got our beef carpaccio and waited another 20 minutes until our salads and another 30 after that for our meal. When I asked what happened there was no accountability.

For the cost you’d expect an amazing dining experience but for a Saturday evening that wasn’t even busy at their restaurant this was extremely disappointing. We spent over $500.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! My fiance and I celebrated our anniversary with an amazing dinner. The food was all on point (from the tuna tartare to the ribeye and king crab legs) as well as the cocktails. The server, manager and chef were all very professional, friendly and did a fantastic job. The restaurant is housed inside the Hilton hotel which is convenient, especially as we were staying here .

Upon arrival our party was greeted and guided to our reserved table . Despite having a reservation, and a big conference in town , the restaurant was not full

Our server was very good : knowledgeable , courteous and fast . She explained the m u and took our cocktail orders. Drinks were great and served promptly

Appetizers we got a few to share including the shrimp cocktail (which was pretty boring) and the fried calamari - this was great as it was a version that included capers and olives and was a good save over the shrimp

For dinner entrees our party ordered a combination of steaks and salmon . I opted for the Dry-Aged ribeye with a sauce of Bordelaise as an enhancement. When asked about choice of side , I was a bit disappointed that there were none that came with the dinner . So we placed separate orders for various sides : I chose asparagus as they did not offer Brussel Sprouts.

Steak was well prepared and sauce was just enough to go for the whole entree . Asparagus was nothing exciting

Overall experience was good thanks mostly to the great staff and service . Restaurant atmosphere is fairly dated and could use a bit of sprucing up same as the hotel itself

If I were to stay in town for another conference I would return to this restaurant but would not be the number one choice , as there are some top notch steak house in competition fairly close by

If we could get 100 stars we would. We took my niece out for her first fancy dinner and it was truly magical. From the second we stepped into the hotel she felt like a princess. We loved that the hotel was decorated for the festivities this month. The hotel dogs were a hit as well.

Dinner was fantastic. The service was over the top wonderful. Terri and Marshall did an excellent job teaching my niece about fine dining. She loves it.

On to the food! My husband and I shared the lamb chops and scallops. Both were cooked perfectly. My niece loved her junior cheeseburger and fries.

Rachael the manager saw we were celebrating and surprised my niece with dessert. She said “it feels like my birthday, I am having so much fun!”
Thank you for being so thoughtful. My niece also mentioned how fashionable the manager was. She was dressed to impress.

Unfortunately, it seems like things have gone a bit downhill here. It used to be our favorite steakhouse in the city, but upon revisiting tonight, we were quite disappointed.

The service was still great of course, but honestly the steak itself was like a better version of what you’d get at Applebee’s. Zero crust/char. They used to be great at that, but tonight, there was nothing.

If that particular aspect isn’t important to you, then I’d still recommend this place, because the staff were excellent and don’t deserve any of the blame for this, but otherwise, idk. It’s a shame.

*edit* just realized that the manager replied to this essentially admitting that they needed a new broiler when we were there, so… why were we told everything was normal while disappointed with our steaks? Our server did not know the menu. She told us she would ask the chief a question about a menu item. She came back with an answer. We ordered our food. 15 minutes later she came back to the table and told us we actually were not able to get the food we wanted. Hmmm. Our food was not good. My friend and I booked a last minute reservation for New Years Eve and let me tell you we were NOT disappointed! The restaurant itself really gives you that boogie fantasy. Our server Josue was phenomenal. He really gave us great recommendations on the menu. My friend and I both agreed our filet was the bets we have ever had. Hands down the best restaurant I've ever been to.

I had the dry aged boneless ribeye, and my wife had the center fillet. Both steaks were cooked to perfection. They had a delicious crust and were so juicy. Every bite was packed with savory, rich flavor.

For our sides we had the russet mashed, asparagus and lobster mac. The lobster mac was packed with flavor and had delicious chunks of lobster. The aspargous was grilled to perfection and tasted phenomenal.

For desert we went with the house made cheesecake. This is what took the proverbial cake. The caramel was to die for, and the cheesecake was fluffy and delicious. Every bite had so much flavor and texture.

10/10, would recommend this place to someone looking for something a little nicer than your typical chain steakhouse.

We had a great meal at the Milwaukee ChopHouse. It is a really nice steakhouse. The service was good and the steaks we perfect. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance to it. I recommend the mash potatoes and the chocolate cake in addition to the steaks.

I decided to wait to review until I cooked my own dry aged ribeye. I just picked up a 1lb dry aged ribeye from Whole Foods today and cooked it in a cast iron skillet. It was melt in the mouth good. Very flavorful. The dry aged ribeye I had here was dry and lacked flavor. However, the drinks were great so i give this place 2 stars. Service was not on par but considering challenges with staffing, I'm neutral in that regard.

Overall, not worth it. Would only go back for drinks.

Had The Privilege of Dining In at the Chophouse Last night 9-19-22 everything was Perfect. The hostess at the door was very polite although I regret not getting her name. And our Server Katelyn was outstanding. I invited my sister to dine with me as as early Birthday Dinner, and Katelyn suggested the 2 person menu and it didn't disappoint I wish I could give more that 5 stars. Every Item on the menu was cooked and served to perfection. They may look like small portions upon table arrival but trust me at the end of your meal you will be satisfied. Also the Blood Orange Sherbet was highly recommended for dessert and words won't do it justice I mean the flavor was outstanding. I would HIGHLY recommended keeping this Deal on the Menu. The choices were easy to choose with the help and knowledge of Katelyn. she was very attentive. And a Special Thanks to Frank, the manager of the Chophouse for taking care of the reservation everything went Smooth, and his attention to detail was on point. So if you're staying in the Hilton Milwaukee City Center or if you're looking for a nice quiet place to dine, I would recommend the Chophouse in your Top 3 places to eat. With my choice being in the number one spot. Thanks for taking the time to read this review and trust me you will not regret getting the 2 person meal

If I could give it a 0 start I would! The food is terribly. It's very unseasoned, and undercooked. For this meal to be as pricey and to be celebrating a birthday it's the most displeasing meal I've ever experienced. I would not recommend to my dog.

Wow! My wife Vicky and I had a fantastic night at the chophouse. Our waitress was Kristina. She was not only knowledgeable about the menu but was kind and friendly. We enjoyed the boneless ribeye and the scallops, both items were perfectly cooked! We can’t wait to return.

I ordered the $70 bone in fillet and ordered it medium it came out rare and when they re-heated it it was well done, I was traveling from San Jose California and was expecting excellence but did not receive it and all they could do was buy my dessert. Overpriced without the excellent experience.

Seated 20 min after reservation time. The service was the only good part of the visit. The food (I ordered the $70 dry aged steak, my wife got the bone in rib-eye) were disappointing to say the least. The sides were mediocre. For the money we spent, we deserved a better quality meal. The glass of wine I ordered shouldn’t be the best part of the meal.

We decided to take my mother here for her 75th birthday. Best idea ever!
The four of us were seated immediately and the servers were attentive and gracious. We got our drinks in short order and ordered the apps - tuna tartare, beef carpaccio, crab cakes, and a Caesar salad. My crab cakes were a bit small, but loaded with crab and my wife's tuna was fantastic!
I ordered a bottle of champagne and it arrived for the toast to the birthday girl! Our entrées were next - two boneless ribeyes, a filet, and some prime rib for my mother.
Everything was cooked to perfection and the sides were the perfect accoutrement.
A small birthday dessert for my mom was the final touch.
It was pricey, but worth it. We would definitely come back!

Outstanding experience from start to finish. The check-in was warm and welcoming and we were seated quickly. Our waiter was extremely informed on the food and wine menu and took great care to every detail along the way. As for the food…I’m not sure I’ve had a better steak in the city. I got the boneless strip while my girlfriend enjoyed the filet. Both were cooked and seasoned perfectly, and I don’t use that term lightly. Already looking forward to our next visit!

My boyfriend and I came here last night for our 10 year anniversary…I have to say, this experience has made us not want to continue eating meat. The service to begin with just seemed off but the photos I attached are our steaks that we requested to be cooked MEDIUM RARE. My bf had returned his and it came back the same. These are RAW. I don’t mind rare but this was just straight up alive/cold. After they came back with this I asked the waiter “Do you guys even know what medium rare is? This is raw” I also showed him a photo of a medium rare steak on google to compare. I knew he felt bad, it’s not his fault but how are you going to charge $60 for steaks and your kitchen doesn’t even know correct meat temps? That can be a health hazard with how rare that is. I also have been feeling extremely sick and feel like I have food poisoning. I do want to give another star because they basically comped our entire meal which was very nice and a free dessert but I can’t get over serving us a raw steak..TWICE & becoming sick.

First of all it was a blessing in disguise that the original restaurant where I booked for 10 people turned me down to add 2 more in the group so we ended up in MILWAUKEE CHOPHOUSE.

Ambiance - we were seated in a private room which is perfect but we were able to see the whole restaurant and for me it is a nice and cozy ambiance perfect for a date night.

The Service - we were seated right away and our server Kaitlyn did a phenomenal job in taking care of us so thank you for that.

The Food - we all agreed that everything is delicious from appetizer to main course and side dishes and of course the soumptous dessert. I had my favorite creme brulee and my fellow birthday celebrant had a triple chocolate with Reese's on top🤩😋

Overall, highly recommended and i wouldn't mind going back😊

My only complaint is that for some strange reason. Instead of just giving us two Togo bags. She stuffed all of our leftovers in one Togo bag.
This resulted in some of the food leaking on the back seat.
Thankfully, I believe I caught it early enough that there was no permanent stain.

The local beer selection is excellent.
The calamari is delicious and melts in your mouth.
The bread was interesting with I think was a rosemary twist to it but the spread selection was awesome the salted butter, the amazing **blue cheese spread ** and the good but least favorite the olive oil and black pepper.

The boneless 14oz aged Prime Rib Eye was a toss up for my favorite steak I have ever eaten. It was charred to perfection I went with medium rear and it just melted as you ate it and the taste was buttery with a little smoke and so so juicy.

The wife had a Caesar salad and the seafood bisque. A little shocked she didn’t order the prime rib but she said she wasn’t very hungry. The soup was outstanding. The salad was a salad. It looked cool though. She has a cosmo that she enjoyed and a glass of wine that she really enjoyed. She ate a few bites of my steak and agreed it was a contender for best steak we have had. The atmosphere was very nice.

Our server Terri was so good she was friendly she knew the menu.

When we return to Milwaukee we will return for a reunion with that steak and bisque and probably add the prime rib to the mix.

Amazing atmosphere: A great restaurant for a dating or larger outing with friends and family. They have top shelf drinks for all their beverages: and the food *muah* and the staff is very personable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was very quick.
We started with the Cesar salad which was perfect. For our entrees, my wife had the lamb chops which she loved. I had the 10 oz. filet, Oscar style, which was delicious. The crab cake was a fun difference to the usual Oscar style dish. We shared the loaded baked potato which was mouth wateringly good.
We will definitely go back, and recommend the ChopHouse to everyone.

We went in late for a holiday on a Friday and got seated almost immediately. The service was incredible. Shout out to Sarah for being the best waitress we've had in a long time. Unfortunately there was some work function happening and one of the guests got extremely intoxicated and was very loudly describing and talking about wildly inappropriate subjects. Our waitress and the floor manager Zolf(?) were both amazing about the disruption. And that's not even mentioning the food. Holy smokes was that a steak. Easily one of the best pieces of meat I've ever had. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked and the balsamic glazed onions were pieces of heaven. They were so nice and gave us a free piece of cake because the loud inappropriate behavior of the party next to us disrupted our evening. To top it all off it wasnt even that big of a bill. To be fair we split a steak but there was still a lot of food to go round. I absolutely suggest going here if you're looking for a really good not horridly pricey steak house with a nice (usually) quiet atmosphere. Thumbs up.

If you want not only 5 star dining but 5 star service, please treat yourself to the Chop House. We went there for Thanksgiving dinner and we were waited on by Heather. She was beyond amazing and kind and professional and fun. And the food? Was something you'd see on Hell's Kitchen it was so amazing. I'm so glad we went there for our Thanksgiving dinner.
